The Departed

"Elijah? Rebekah?" I stood on my front porch with my arms crossed. I take it they heard the news about Klaus and wanted me to undo it."I'm not fixing his ass."

"We're not asking you to fix it, just help us get him back." Rebekah pleaded, I frowned seeing the desperation on her face.

"You won't wake him up any time soon?"

"We won't, I wanted to make a deal with Elena we'll leave him daggered until she dies." Elijah said, Rebekah whipped her head around to face him bewildered; this was clearly her first time hearing about that.

"Elijah."

"Rebekah, you want to get him back right?" Elijah asked as if he was talking to a child. Rebekah lowered her head and pouted.

"Fine."

"If you ask me, he deserves it." I hissed Klaus managed to piss me off several times in the same day."He used me to hurt Tyler."

"Nik can be an ass." Rebekah agreed softly."But he's still my brother."

"Okay, Elena likes you." I pointed at Elijah."You go make the deal while I try and sort everything out behind the scenes."

"Behind the scenes?" Rebekah asked confused, I don't think she realized it was actually pretty easy to get my friends to do things if you went about it the right way.

"With just a bit of her influence, her friends would be more susceptible to what we want." Elijah explained it was true. Hell even me encouraging Elijah to go talk to Elena was a strong tactic. Whether she admitted it or not Elijah was very charming and easy on the eyes who wouldn't listen to him.

The sooner we get all of this sorted out the sooner I can get the hell out of town. I had to be in New Orleans right after New Years so I planned on enjoying the two months beforehand as much as possible.

"I'll deal with Bonnie, you go to Elena. Rebekah find something to do. Also I signed the deed to your house last night so Alaric can't get in. At some point I'll need to invite you in." I said looking between the two, Elijah nodded and Rebekah pouted. The two flashed off as I headed back inside the house, Bonnie should still be in her room it was pretty early and I'm sure they didn't get into any hijinks just yet.

I knocked on her door and Bonnie pushed it open, she was fully dressed with Rudy standing behind her. She looked like she was upset and I didn't like that I had no idea why.

"What's wrong?"

"Elena, she got hurt and passed out yesterday." Bonnie explained, I looked at her confused. Elena seemed fine when I saw her but then again she did bang her head pretty hard when Klaus pushed us.

"Fuck." I pressed my fingers into my temple. I was very annoyed with the outcome."Where is she?"

"Home now, Jeremy got her home before anything could happen. I need your help."

"Let's go." I replied handing her my car keys. Bonnie nodded and lightly pushed Rudy out her room before closing the door. The two of us ran down the steps and jumped into my car."Where are we going?"

"To cloak Klaus from Alaric and the rest of the Originals." Bonnie replied backing out the driveway. I was actually touched she wanted to include me in her plan it really wasn't smart to but she'd trust me no matter what.

"You want my help?" I asked shocked, Bonnie definitely had something else up her sleeve and I couldn't be more proud of her for wanting to double cross her friends.

"If Klaus dies so does Tyler, Caroline & Mom." Bonnie replied, I whistled shocked. I take it they found out they all come from Klaus which has got to suck. The one person you want dead the most will take you with him completely unintentionally."So I rather we make sure nothing like that happens."

"Okay, I know a spell that might help. We could take Klaus and place his consciousness into someone else. As long as he behaves it should work out." I replied, Bonnie looked impressed and smiled.

"There's a reason we're twins."

"So we need to find Klaus." I replied, Bonnie motioned to my phone. I pulled it out and she took it from me, she dialed a number before passing it back.

"Alicia? Actually calling before barging in this time how nice of you." Damon's sarcastic tone filler my ear, I glared at Bonnie.

"I've been told you need a witch or two, tell us where to go and we'll meet you there."

"I'm not telling you anything over the phone, so come to the house." He replied. I groaned at the amount of gas that was about to get sucked out my car.

"Fine." I replied hanging up, I shoved my phone back into my pocket and stared at Bonnie she shrugged innocently and turned to head us toward the house.

"You know you aren't off the hook yet." Bonnie glanced over at me and smiled. I took a deep breath already knowing what's coming next."You never gave me the explicit details on Kol."

"He's absolutely bewitching." I frowned, I had zero idea why I felt so strongly over somebody I barely knew. And even less idea why it seemed he cared about me at least a bit. Enough to not want me in town while Klaus was running wild at least.

"Have you two been blood sharing?" Bonnie randomly asked, I suddenly found whatever was outside to be very interesting. She sucked in a sigh."That's probably why."

"Which grimore did I miss that in." I frowned. I'd read most of them from top to bottom and am definitely embarrassed I overlooked something like that. But then again I wasn't interested in canoodling with a vampire so I probably didn't think I needed to know.

"One of the Martins, it burned to a crisp while you were gone." She replied, she looked like she was deep in thought before pulling up to a red light. She looked over at me and chewed her bottom lip."Rebekah should know more about the subject so I'd ask her, but blood sharing is supposed to be very intimate."

"So I fucked myself over."

"Pretty much." Bonnie replied shrugging."It's weird though because I'm sure Kol knows that, the bond it creates is supposed to be stronger if it's with a witch. Natures way of punishing us."

"Please just drive."

"Fine."

My mind was moving a mile a minute, did Kol knowing create this weird bond between us. I wondered if this was anything like a sirebond, I wasn't sure how far I'd go for him like Klaus's hybrids. I needed to worry about taking care of Klaus first and then I'd go talk to Rebekah.

"We're here." Bonnie said snapping me out of my thoughts, we jumped out the car and jumped straight into Damon's. I'm not sure if he thought telling us over the phone was worse than the possibility of Alaric watching us and following but whatever.

This was definitely the most awkward car ride I'd ever experienced. Bonnie & I weren't in a talking mood but Damon was. I was way more relieved than I should've been when we stopped at a storage place. We step into the elevator and Damon's phone rings it's definitely a one sided conversation but Damon looked absolutely pissed.

"I'm not even halfway out of Virginia and Elena sells our soul to the Originals." Damon frowns as we come into a hallway filled with storage rooms."I expected that from Kol's girlfriend."

"Didn't you also fuck Rebekah?"

"Okay Judgy, let's just find the unit." Damon frowned, I raised an eyebrow and snorted at how quickly Bonnie shut Damon's teasing down.

"It's her call." I said changing the conversation back to Elena. It was the truth, Elena's life is the one that's at stake not mine, not Bonnie's not Damon's today. Elena's so if she felt comfortable taking Elijah's deal then so be it.

"You know what else was her call? Every bad thing ever." Damon replied and he was definitely wrong Elena made some decisions that I would've made too, they just always got ruined by Damon.

We walked for a bit and I was getting impatient, I had a feeling Bonnie was feeling the same way. Damon definitely could be playing with us as a test. It felt like we walked by room after room.

"So where's the body? As long as it's unspelled Alaric is just one witch away from finding it." Bonnie said, I scoffed at that. There was only two witches in the entire town and they were right here. But then again if Alaric was created with the sole purpose to eradicate vampires then a "good witch" would help him.

"Hidden. I was gonna use unit 666, but I figured that would be a little obvious. So 1020." Damon replied, coming to a stop in front of the unit. I snorted. He probably chose 1020 because they were over a thousand years old.

"Mini fridge, car parts & playboys?" I raised an eyebrow staring at the closed door. Damon looked mildly impressed.

"Close but birdcages, no car parts." He opened up the unit and a coffin sat not too far away from the bird cages. I swallowed a bit, I felt kind of bad for Klaus but at the same time I didn't. He'd done this to Rebekah & Kol many times, this tiny nap he's taking can't be worse than what they've had to endure."One beef jerkified Original."

I opened up the coffin and jumped back when Klaus opened his eyes and stared directly at Bonnie & I. He probably thought we were here to save him which was partially true.

"Woah creepy." Damon said as Klaus stared at us, Damon glanced at me to try and figure out my next move from here. I kept my face blank. I had to look indifferent here or it would blow Bonnie's plan.

"I need a minute." Bonnie says, Damon stops staring at me and looks at her, I'm sure he expected me to try and pull something.

"What? Just jam the witch locator bat signal or whatever and get on with it Bonnie." Damon replied I shrugged he did have a point but Bonnie was also petty, I knew most of her enjoyed seeing Klaus like this hell part of me did too.

"Elena & Jeremy lost Jenna & Alaric because of him. Tyler's a hybrid. Our Mother is a vampire. Could you just give me a second to appreciate the sight of this?" Bonnie asked weirdly enough I didn't blame Klaus for any of those things. Technically they were Stefan & Damon's fault. Except for maybe Tyler becoming a Hybrid.

Damon raised his hands in surrender and walked out of the unit making sure to close the door behind him. Bonnie turned her attention back to Klaus, I didn't even really want to look at him and leaned against the wall.

"You should burn in hell. But if you die, so do my friends. So does my Mother. What am I supposed to do about that?" Bonnie asked and I started to answer her but I realized she was talking to Klaus and not me.

We get to work casting the spell to block another witch from locating him. Once we finished Bonnie left she'd need to convince Tyler or one of the Hybrids to allow us to move Klaus into them.

I got ready to leave myself when I started to hear what sounded like storage units being torn open at random.

"Fuck me." I mumbled climbing on top of Klaus's coffin. We can discuss later if he appreciated what I'm about to do or not. "Invisique."

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and silenced it before shoving the shit back into my pocket. The last thing I needed was for it to ring while I was hiding.

Fuck asking for consent. I popped Open Klaus' casket and sent Bonnie a text telling her I'm starting now. I got to work casting the spell, when I finished I closed the lid and dropped the invisible spell. I probably should've done that first because I feel like shit now but whatever. The door flew open and I jumped in front of Klaus ready to protect him if need be.

Damon held his finger up to his lips and grabbed the casket, I was shocked to see Rebekah with him. Rebekah quietly closed the door as we crept away from the storage unit.

I throw Rebekah's trunk open and Damon starts to put the coffin into it, Rebekah suddenly screams as she's yanked away by the hair, he slams her head into the car window and throws her on the ground.

"Fuck!" I jumped back as Damon put himself between myself, the coffin & Alaric. It took Alaric under 5 seconds to take care of Damon. I started to use my magic but Alaric grabbed me by the throat effectively shutting that down. You would think I would've done something productive with all that vervain.

Alaric opened up Klaus' casket with his free hand and pulled out the dagger. He slammed my head into the back of the car and tossed me to the floor, I struggled to stay awake as Rebekah screamed out. I didn't see anything but I definitely smelled smoke and charred flesh before hearing the casket slam shut next.

I blinked hard and slowly regained my vision, Damon had me over his shoulder in one arm and used the other to hold a hysterically Rebekah back from charging at Alaric.

"Next." Alaric says menacingly, Damon hands me off to Rebekah.

"Take her and go!" He orders, it's kinda sweet how he was interested in protecting her. Rebekah didn't waste any time rushing us out of we finally stopped running she healed me, she had tears pouring down her cheeks as she collapsed to the floor.

"Bekah." I said gently. I sat down on the ground beside her."He's okay, Bonnie & I moved his consciousness somewhere else."

"You? You did?" Rebekah choked out wiping her eyes."When did you?"

"Right before you guys found me, I heard him ripping through units so I cloaked us and casted the spell." I replied. Rebekah let out a dry laugh and the two of us slowly stood up.

"Thank you."

"What are best friends for?" I smiled, she pulled me into a tight hug. When she broke apart she looked back and frowned."Let's get back to your house so I can invite you in, do not tell anybody what we did."

"Why would I?" Rebekah asked, she held her hand out to me and I took it. She carried me off back to her house, she handed me her keys and I unlocked the door and stepped over the threshold.

"Come in Rebekah." I said, she gingerly stepped inside and sighed in relief. "I think Klaus has enough sense to contact me when he takes control of whomever Bonnie put him into since they probably won't have your number."

"Great, you need to blood is making me hungry." Rebekah grabbed my arm and dragged me upstairs, hearing Klaus was fine instantly put her in a much better mood. I wasn't sure if she'd be able to look heartbroken with the others though.

"I'll remember that next time I get my face slammed into a car." I replied, Rebekah lightly shoved me into her room and went straight to the closet.

"I'm just being nice."

"Oh I know." I agreed sitting down on the bed, Rebekah pulled out a pair of jeans and a cute sweater. She plopped them down on the bed beside me and sat down. I already knew what was coming.

"So my brother."

"We've actually gotta talk about that." I said, Rebekah leaned in as if she was about to get the juiciest gossip. Well it probably was since it wasn't actually her problem."How much knowledge do you have with blood bonds?"

"He did what?" Rebekah scoffed, shaking her head." I was pretty sure he'd bite you but I assumed he had enough wit to let you heal yourself."

"Nope, unfortunately we shared quite a lot of blood during our encounters." I replied, Rebekah let out a loud laugh."Why is that funny?"

"He likes you."

"What?" I asked, other than his random urges to see me and the fact he's weirdly nice to me. I didn't really think he did.

"I'm gonna stay out of it." Rebekah smiled wickedly, I grabbed the clothes from the bed and went into her bathroom.

"Or you could help me."

"Or I could watch from afar and start planning the wedding." She called back, I rolled my eyes and grabbed a washcloth getting to work cleaning up my face, neck and hands.

"You are not acting your age."

"No, I'm acting every bit of the teenage girl I am though." Rebekah replied, I peeled off my shirt and tossed it into the trashcan before changing into the sweater.

"When is Elijah getting here?" I asked changing into the jeans, I didn't really need them but who am I to turn down designer.

"Now." She called out. I opened the bathroom door and the two of us heading down to the front door, Elijah stood on the other side waiting patiently.

"Come in."

Elijah walked in and closed the door behind him, he took one look at Rebekah then me and frowned. I take it he knew and didn't understand why Rebekah looked absolutely fine right now. But so did he.

"He's fine." Rebekah said pulling her brother into a hug, Elijah relaxed in her arms and sighed in relief."Alicia & Bonnie put him into a different body."

"That explains why they aren't dead. However Tyler Lockwood is." Elijah said sadly, I stared at him confused. If they others were fine then Tyler should definitely be fine too right?

"But Nik definitely turned their bloodline." Rebekah replied confused. My face drained of all color as I listened to them ramble on about how Klaus is everyone's sire. My mind hadn't moved past Tyler being dead.

"Are you sure?" I asked, I was on the verge of flipping my shit and nobody else even noticed.

"That's what Elena told me." Elijah confirmed, I sucked in a deep breath and pulled my phone out. I don't know what I was gonna do if Tyler didn't answer the phone.

It rang for what felt like forever before he finally answered.

"Tyler."

"Hello little Witch." He replied, I rolled my eyes. So Bonnie did put him into Tyler. That's just amazing.

"Goodbye. I got what I needed."

"Wait, don't tell my siblings yet. Thank you." He replied and with that we both hung up. I was thankful Rebekah & Elijah respected me enough that they didn't ease drop on the conversation because Klaus would've been upset.

"No answer." I shoved my phone back into my pocket and frowned I needed to go get my car that was all the way at the Salvatore house still.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Alicia. I know how much he meant to you." Elijah replied his tone and facial expression was genuine but I just shrugged, I was over the day and just wanted to go home.

"Do one of you mind taking me to Damon's to grab my car?" I asked, Elijah started to open his mouth but Rebekah beat him to it. I personally would've felt better if Elijah went, Rebekah could handle herself but I rather she didn't have to be wearily Alaric was gonna get her when she wasn't expecting it.

Rebekah grabbed me and carried me off to Damon's, I was surprised when she left without saying a word to me but whatever. I got inside and drove home, the best thing for me to do was stay the hell in doors and not worry about anything else today.

I unlocked my front door and went inside, tossing myself straight on the couch. It was seldomly something I ever did but I was just so mentally exhausted by today I just needed to lay down.

Other than the sound of tiny paws running around I didn't hear anything which meant Bonnie hadn't gotten here yet.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Kol's number. Maybe it's the blood bond talking but I didn't want anything more right now than to hear his voice.

"Darling are you okay?" He asked immediately hmm, I wondered if he could feel my feelings.

"Yeah, I'm just drained." I sighed I started to lean up but Rudy jumped straight onto my chest and licked my face. "You know about the situation with Alaric right? I assume Elijah informed you?"

"He did, he mentioned that he'd gotten to Nik but none of your friends have died yet which is strange."

"Yeah about that, he isn't dead. Bonnie & I moved his consciousness just in time and Alaric's dumb ass didn't fully destroy the body." I explained, seriously as a teacher he should be ashamed that he closed the casket thus smothering the flames.

"That's my girl." He replied, I blinked shocked he'd even said that."I figured you'd done something witchy I just couldn't figure out what. It's absolutely brilliant."

"Your girl?" I asked curious if he'd repeat it. But then I remembered Vampires are rather possessive creatures so it really probably wasn't anything.

"I did say that." He replied aloofly." Did you book your flight yet?"

"I didn't, I've been preoccupied." I replied disappointed, there was always so much going on I had no idea how to keep up with most things.

"I purchased it for you, I'll see you in two days." He replied, I rolled my eyes when my phone vibrated against my ear meaning I had another call.

"I'll call you right back I have another call."

"Alright."

I hung up on Kol and answered the other line, it was Stefan.

"Stefan? What's up? You don't usually call me." I was worried the more I thought about it. If it wasn't for Bonnie & Caroline I wouldn't even be considered part of the group so Stefan & I interacted far less than anybody else.

"Rebekah ran Elena & Matt off the bridge." He said solemnly, I palmed my forehead that explained why Rebekah was so eager to get out of the house.

"Are they okay?"

"Elena told me to save Matt, but she drowned." Stefan said, I dropped the phone and put my hand over my mouth. I was shocked Elena was gone. With the way everybody fussed over her I thought she was untouchable.

"Alicia? Alicia?" Stefan called out, I took a deep breath and picked the phone back up.

"I'm here."

"Meredith gave her blood earlier when she was in the hospital. She's in transition." Stefan explained. I blinked hard. Elena didn't want to be a vampire which was going to create a plethora of problems nobody needed right now.

"I'll make her a daylight ring, I still have some of the stone from when I made Caroline's." I replied lightly pushing Rudy off me and to the floor.

"Thank you, Alicia." He replied.

"No problem, I need the sun to do the spell but I'll have it for you in the morning."

The two of us hung up and I headed upstairs once again I went into my jewelry box and popped a stone out of a ring. I used my magic to slice a bit of the stone off and sealed it into place on the ring. I sat the ring down on my night stand so it would be the first thing I saw when I woke up.

I pulled my phone out and called Kol back, I laid down in my bed and stayed on the phone with him until I fell asleep. It gave me a sense of normal that I didn't know how badly I needed until just now.
