Hey guys Kurama here with another chapter of DXD: Like A Shadow and I hope you will enjoy this as much as I will.

Let's begin!
-Next morning-
I wake up, feeling refreshed as I let the bio-suit change my clothes into my combat ones and select a [Dungeon] for me to complete.
I want to test out some of the [Necromancer] and [White Mage] I got so this is the perfect excuse for me to grind for a couple of hours.
Plus, I don't think I need to take care of anything back in the real world, well, besides school but I'm smarter than pretty much everyone there so I think I deserve a break for being such a good student.
With those thoughts out of my head, I then take out some combat gloves from my [Inventory] and stare at the wave of monsters and clench my fists in anticipation.
"Well then. It's grinding time!" I yell as I lunge toward the massive wave of monsters with the intent to win.
-POV change-
"You fool! You dare shame me like this?!" The man roars as he slaps his son, who falls to the ground, holding his hand with a look of anger.
"I thought I told you, Father, Rias will not marry me and this is the only thing we can agree on. I'm not marrying her as well. I'd rather die than try to love her." Riser says, standing up so he could dust himself from the dirt that covered his clothes.
"You buffoon! Do you not see what our and the Gremory's power could bring to Devil society?" The man says with a hint of madness in his eyes.
"One does not need to be as intelligent as Ruval or Ravel to see this ending in disaster, Father. Perhaps you'll have better luck trying to convince Sirzechs not to kill me if I decide to marry Rias. If you'll excuse me, I will retire myself for the day." Riser says as he then exits the room, internally smug about the fact that he finally got one-up on his father.
The man was so damn insistent on making sure that he would marry Rias for the sake of showcasing the other pillars of the power of the Phenex family.
Bah!
Riser wasn't interested in marrying the redhead whatsoever.
She's not even his type, which is weird because everyone loves Rias Gremory but he wasn't one of those people and boy, was he glad to have made that choice 'cause from the moment these two met, everything about her just pissed him off.
From the way she talked to how she carried herself in life.
It was clear that these two wouldn't work and even if they got married, Riser would be under the watch of Sirzechs and Venelana, Rias' family so the best choice he could come up with was making sure to lose at the rating game in a way that doesn't draw the attention of his father or his peerage.
Not like it mattered 'cause the plan was going to work and as to how he knows it'll work...
"Ravel, I'm here." He shouts as he sits on his throne, a gift from his mother when he turned 17 while the bastard he called a father only gave him a shitty heirloom that couldn't even be used in a fight.
Bastard!
'If there is a super Hell, I hope to see you there just so I can watch you suffer for treating me like shit.' He thought to himself as his sister came into his line of sight so he chose to focus all of his attention on her.
"I'm going to guess that father still wants you to be married to that brat?" She asks, not looking up from the screen on her phone.
"Yep, this is starting to piss me off like we'll have to go with the original plan, which is to have us losing in the rating game without Father suspecting it. The wards here won't allow him to hear of our plan but still, we should be careful about where we're heading." Riser says with a thoughtful look on his face.
"Riser, Ravel, I've gotten your message." The older brother, Ruval Phenex says as he steps inside the room.
"Hello, brother. From the looks on your face, it would appear father is hard-headed as ever, huh?" He asks his younger brother, with the mentioned throwing a scoff in his direction, trying to master his emotions but failing to do so as he punches his table in anger.
"Seriously Riser. We just got that yesterday! Mother is going to start suspecting us and you know what that means." Ravel says while her brother just keeps getting angry.
They may love their mother but she was horrible at keeping secrets. Almost everything she learned involving them she would tell their father and then, shit would hit the fan as the humans would say.
Gah! They still remembered when Ruval was forced to fight their father's Knight with the most powerful weights the Phenex clan could get their hands on.
Worst punishment, period!
"Damn it! It's like he doesn't understand that I'm not gonna marry her. She's as tolerable as the twins when they're sugar-high and I for one will not be spending the rest of my life with someone that hates my guts." Riser says angrily.
"Yeah, I could see why that's such a turnoff for you. As weird as it is coming from me but you really should've thought a bit more trading your two other pieces for them." Ravel replies, feeling a bit of sympathy for her brother.
"If you two are done with Riser's non-existent love life, we have bigger fish to fry, namely with the plan you are going for. Let's say that Father catches on to your plan then what?" Ruval asks them, with the two looking stumped for lack of a better term.
"I do admit, I didn't think that far ahead but that's what you're here for, right?" Ravel says while Riser looks deep in thought before his facial expressions light up.
"I think I may have an idea. What if I tell Rias to train for an entire month, which will give us some time to contact one of the Maous and have them nullify the marriage, which should free us both without the need for bloodshed?" Riser explains with his two siblings thinking of it for a second before nodding their heads since they didn't see anything wrong with that plan.
The three siblings would then spend the rest of their evening planning things and enjoying each other's company.
-Timeskip-
"Hey Sona, you wanted to see me?" Jin asks as he steps inside and finds his fiancée doing some paperwork related to random Stray devil attacks that have been happening over the last couple of days.
"Yes, I wanted to talk to you. It's about Rias' arranged marriage. I want you-" She says, looking up to meet his soulless gray eyes before seeing the look of anger on Jin's face.
"Did Sirzechs tell you to repeat those words? Because I said I would think about it but now, I'm thinking I shouldn't do it just to spite the populace." He says with a look of annoyance on his face.
"Okay and what's that going to accomplish? I'm supposed to marry you but you don't see me crying about it! All I'm asking you to do is help my best friend out of a rough patch." Sona shouts at him.
"If she's your best friend as you claim then why don't you help her?! I have a lot on my plate as it is!"
"Oh, like dating other girls behind my back?! Is that what you meant, Kageyami?"
"Oh, don't act so mighty, Sitri. If I wasn't as strong as I am now, one of you two would enslave me and then trade me to a shitty master."
"Are you serious?! I wouldn't even dream about trading you, much less enslave you!"
"And why should I believe you?!"
"Because I love you, you damn moron! There, I said it. I love you."
The world seems to have been stopped, frozen even as Jin's anger gives out and he collapses onto his knees, a raspy breath escaping his lips with tears in his eyes.
"Why? I'm not doing what you want me to do. How could you say those words?" Jin asks, befuddled by what Sona said a few seconds ago.
"Because I understand where you coming from. You don't want any problems with us and are only interested in living life as you see fit but I want you to at least try and help her. Try to understand where she's coming from and maybe then, you'll understand each other." Sona explains with Jin looking rather conflicted as to what he should do next.
"Alright. I'll try to help her but after that, it's all on her. Gahhh, I feel like I'm gonna regret this." The shadow user replies before pecking her on the cheek and leaves by jumping through the window.
"Looks like you've done another great job, Sona Sitri. Job well done indeed" She mutters to herself before going back to completing the paperwork.
-Back to POV-
Ahh, I feel like I should've said to counter the fact that I didn't want to help her but she caught me off guard with her sudden confession.
She said she loves me.
She said she loves me.
This is... huge!
But...
"I don't know how to feel about this. Maybe the girls know what to do with this." I mutter to myself as I step inside and see Yoruichi chilling with Rumiel sleeping with a smile fit for a king.
You truly are a spoiled slime.
You truly deserve it but soon, I'll show the world the power of having a slime as a familiar.
"Hey, got a minute to talk?" I ask her.
"Let me guess, girl problems?"
"How the- I didn't even say anything!" I exclaim, pointing my finger at her as she sets Rumiel aside and motions for me to sit next to her so we could continue this conversation.
"Oh, you poor brat. I'm a woman. We know these type of things. Actually, I'm kinda surprised you have a girlfriend." She says, her face looking quite smug as she said those words.
"Hey, what is that supposed to mean?!" I yell at her with mock anger in my voice.
"Exactly what it means buddy."
"Damn it! I came here for advice, not for you to tease me to the ends of the universe."
"My dear friend, we are just getting started. I haven't had this much fun since... nevermind. So, what was the problem?" Yoruichi, a pang of sadness flashing thorugh her eyes before going back to being slightly happy.
Wait... do I remind her of Ichigo because of the way she used to tease him when he was training with her to get his bankai?
It's best we switch the conversation but I will make the people who made sad like this pay.
I promise.

I guess I have no choice then.
I press [Y] then shift my focus onto Yoruichi.
"Well, she told me that she loved me in the middle of a small argument and now, I really don't know what to do." I explain my problem as fast as I can without beating around the bush since I never really liked people who did that 'cause to me, it came off as you being a coward or something along those lines.
You either say what you gotta say or you shut your mouth and move on with your life.
Simple as that.
"Hmm, yeah. I'm kinda stumped on how to help you. Take some time off and think about your next move. If it involves Gremory, then don't worry too much. The answer will come to you when you least expect it. I'm going to hit the hay. 'Night." She says whilst standing and then grabs Rumiel leaves to go straight into her room to get some sleep.
Hmm, maybe there is no right or wrong answer.
She's right, when I least expect it, the answer will suddenly pop into my head and I'll make my decision then.
I take a look at the stuff I got from the [Dungeon] this morning and find two [Companion Gems] that I managed to get after defeating the boss.
I crush both of the gems and after getting eyesight away from the light, standing in front of me is none other Esdeath from Akame Ga Kill and Mirajane Strauss from Fairy Tail.

Esdeath falls on top of me, praising herself for finally finding me but I'm way too tired to either try and pry her off of me or to hear the rest of what she just said.
Soon enough, the two of us all fall asleep like children after a long day of activities.

Some of you might be confused as to why I'm putting this as chapter 11 so in short, I put in wrong file of the story a d since I had no backup, I had to rewrite it from scratch.
