Chapter 16 Fun Activities Part 1

Judy didn't know if it was her impatience or if she was just not used to the whole makeup process, but it felt as if the nail painting took forever and a day. Sure, the pink staining her nails was quite visually appealing, but the process used to make them appear that way was so monotonous that Judy almost fell asleep. When the nails were finally done, and Judy could use her hands without fear of getting the nail polish all over every piece of furniture in existence, she couldn't help but let out a breath of relief.

Wendy seemed twenty tons of thrilled as she gushed over Judy's nails. "Oh man, right as I thought you couldn't get any cuter!" She squeed, the sound loaded with excitement. "You look amazing, Judy! You look like the person every girl would be jealous of and every guy would want to be with!"

The rabbit officer chewed on this sentiment as she stole another glance down at her nails. To be absolutely fair, Wendy had proven herself to know what she was talking about when it came to fashion and the like. Still, Judy stubbornly refused to accept the statement's validity because…well, why would she voluntarily agree with the girl who kidnapped her and took her away from everything that she held dear?

"And now that you're the most beautiful thing to ever walk the grounds of the Koopa Kingdom…" Wendy looked ready to explode in a giddy, sparkly mess that could never be cleaned up. "We can do some friendship activities together!" She tapped her feet on the floor at a ludicrous speed, one that made Judy a little concerned. "Oh, this is bound to be amazing!"

Judy gulped. She was afraid to ask, she was terrified to ask. Yet, her mouth still asked despite every base and animalistic instinct in her fuzzy body telling her not to. "What kind of activities!"

Wendy beamed at her. "Well…" she pulled a phone out of her shell. Judy blinked as she scrolled through it. "I've looked up what activities girls like to do with their female friends! And the one that is at tippy top of the list is having tea parties!"

"Tea parties?" Judy raised an eyebrow. "Uh…is that list aimed towards girls in your age group?"

Wendy blinked, looking down at her phone screen with some degree of uncertainty. However, that uncertainty just as quickly disappeared with a wave of a hand. "It doesn't matter; the idea is still appealing to me." She grinned. "So, why don't we make our way down to the dining hall so we can get started!" She gestured for Judy to follow her out the door. "Come on!"

Judy hesitated for about ten seconds before following. This was fine; a tea party wasn't the absolute worst thing in the world to take part in. In fact, Judy had found that she liked tea; it didn't matter what flavor of tea it was, she still gulped it down like it was water from the Fountain of Youth. So, she followed her kidnapper, figuring that if every other experience she went through in this dimension was horrible, at least she could have the satisfaction of drinking a hot beverage that soothed her throat and washed her worries away.

So, the two girls made their way out. While they were walking, however, Judy soon ran into a problem. Since the shoes that Wendy had put on her had heels, they were an absolute beast to walk in. Judy wobbled like a toddler, nearly tripping and/or twisting her ankles as she followed after her "friend." She actually let out a little cry of anguish right as she tripped and landed face first on the hard, stony floor of the castle.

Much to her shock, Wendy actually looked at her in concern (not that concern from a kidnapper was appreciated, but whatever). "Are you okay?"

Judy let out a breath and rose back up to her feet. She cursed under her breath, for it felt like she was standing on very shaky ground with those darn heels on. "I…I'm just not used to this."

Wendy nodded before her face lit up. "Well, I'm pretty much the master when it comes to walking in heels." She gestured to the carnation pink shoes she had on her feet. "I can teach you!"

Judy raised an eyebrow. "Teach me?"

"Yeah!" Wendy smiled and took Judy's hand. "Don't worry; when you actually get the hang of it, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. You'll feel like you're walking on air!"

Judy still didn't lower her eyebrow; if anything, she raised it higher. "Um… if you say so."

Wendy beamed and faced forward. "Now, the trick to walking in heels is to find your sense of balance. The ones that I chose for you to wear aren't stilettos, so they won't be nearly as painful to walk in. However, finding your sense of balance is still key." She took a step forward, prompting Judy to do the same thing. "You should also make sure to step carefully. Pretend like every step you're taking is leading you into a puddle."

"A puddle?" Judy asked.

"It's just a metaphor," Wendy said, waving her hand once again. "Keeping that advice in your mind will help you to step lightly; you won't put all your weight into one step. Rather, you'll step lightly; feeling light on your feet all while avoiding face planting into the ground." Wendy turned toward Judy again. "Try it!"

Judy nodded and looked down at her feet. Hesitantly, actually feeling a little bit fearful of what happened, she did what Wendy suggested. She made sure to be light, not putting too much weight onto the paper thin heels that supported her feet (yes, she knew they weren't actually paper thin; she just treated them like they were). Taking a few steps forward, she did wobble a little bit, but she fortunately fell into a groove eventually.

"Great job!" Wendy proclaimed. She took a few steps forward in her own set of heels. "Now, you might be tempted to keep your eyes on your feet at all times when you're walking in heels. This is pretty impractical; you do need to see where you're going, after all." She grinned. "So, keep the pointers I gave you in mind. Being light on your feet will help you to keep looking and going forward without too many issues."

Judy nodded, lifting her head away from the floor. She continued walking forward, relishing in the groove created by her feet. She actually managed to smile, as she did it without too many problems and without permanently crippling her feet. She gave Wendy the smile, almost forgetting that she was here against her will. Almost.

"I think I'm getting it!"

"Yeah you are! Go girl!" The two stopped when they got to the staircase. "Now, steps might seem daunting; this is one of the few times where it's okay to look at your feet while walking."

Judy nodded, now keeping her gaze attached to her feet. She took careful steps down the stairs, feeling a surge of relief each time she cleared a step without losing her balance and falling down the stairwell. She had to admit, she actually felt both relieved and proud of herself when she got to the bottom.

"I did it!"

"Yep!" Wendy walked in front of her again. "Now come on; let's go to the dining hall!"

With that, they continued on their walk. Now, Judy still wasn't a master at walking in heels; she did struggle a little bit as they strolled. However, those mistakes were pretty minimal in the grand scheme of things. For the most part, she was light as a feather, gliding on air as she made her way there. Her sense of pride and accomplishment was at an all time high when they got to the dining hall and took their seats.

Once they were seated, Wendy called one of the servants over. "Bloke, do you mind getting some tea and cookies ready?"

Bloke nodded and ducked into the kitchen. As they waited, Judy examined the dining hall. It seemed like the ceiling was a mile high! Sure, she couldn't say for certain if that was how high it was, but it did seem to stretch into the Heavens. The windows along the walls set a glimmering light throughout the room, lighting it up to make the obsidian stones floors look a little less dismal and depressing. The table they sat in was big too; Judy counted the chairs really quickly and saw that it could provide a seat for thirty different people! It was impressive, she had to admit. Made her wonder if she could ever go on a trip to visit those old castles outside Zootopia with Nick in the near future.

Right before Judy could lament over the fact that proposition was fifty shades of unlikely due to her current circumstances, the servant came back out. They carried a tray with a teapot, tea bags, two teacups, various sweeteners, and a plate of cookies. Both the plate and the teapot were so hot that they emanated steam. Regardless, Judy's mouth still watered when they set the platter down on the table. She hadn't eaten anything since she got plucked out of her home dimension, so she legitimately felt as if she was starving.

"Thank you, Bloke!" Wendy waved the servant away and turned toward Judy with a smile. "Now, what would your ideal tea flavor be?" She gestured toward the various teabags. "I have black, earl gray, honey and chamomile, peppermint, dandelion root, red zinger…"

Judy licked her lips. "I think I'd just like straight black."

"Okay!" Wendy poured the water in the teapot into the teacup. "Creamer?" Judy shook her head. "Sugar? Honey? Agave syrup?"

Judy shook her head. "No thanks. Gotta watch my weight."

Wendy giggled. "I highly doubt anybody with your tiny frame could ever get fat," she said as she handed over the teacup.

Judy snickered as she raised the cup to her lips. "Clearly you've never met my uncle Cecil."

So, the tea party was under way. Judy sipped her tea gingerly as she watched Wendy load her own cup of peppermint tea with so much sugar one would think she was trying to get diabetes. Well, whatever; the health of her kidnapper wasn't anywhere on her list of concerns. Despite the fact that Judy was on a diet, she did take a cookie. She had to admit, it tasted better then anything she ever had in Zootopia.

"Mmm. This is good," she said. "What's in it?"

Wendy blinked. "Oh. You know, just the typical stuff. Chocolate chips, brown sugar, butter…"

Judy's eyes grew wide. "Butter?" She looked down at her cookie in disgust. "W…where did this butter come from exactly?"

Wendy shrugged. "Cows, probably?"

Judy cringed, making sure to stay as far away from the cookies as possible. She just sipped her tea, hoping that the drink's flavor would get rid of the flavor of the pastry. As such, she drank so much that the tea party was more or less silent for a good majority of it.

However, Wendy spoke up after she ate three cookies. "So…are you having fun?"

Judy almost snorted. Fun? Under duress? Since when was that even remotely possible? If she didn't know any better, she would assume Wendy was making some sort of very sick joke.

"Not really." Judy didn't care if her honesty would earn her punishment; she wasn't the type of bunny who cowered in fear.

"Oh." Wendy looked down into her teacup before speaking up again. "Well…. I've gotta say, I do appreciate that you're doing this." She reached for a fourth cookie and chewed on that (who was sick enough to eat something that had cow butter in it? Judy would never wrap her head around that). "Like I said, I don't get to do this very often with my other friends."

Judy snorted. Oh, they were friends now? Funny, she didn't see their relationship as anything more than captor and prisoner.

"Well…good for you." Judy took another sip of her unsweetened tea.

Wendy looked back at her. "And…I know that the way we crossed each other's paths is more than a little…unorthodox." Judy almost snorted at that too. "But you have to admit, it's quite nice in a sense! I mean…" she gestured toward Judy's teacup. "You at the very least seem to be enjoying my tea."

Judy lowered her cup. One, she was under duress, and two…she enjoyed tea anyway. The fact that her captor was responsible for making it (actually, Judy realized as soon as she had that thought that it was her captor's servant who was responsible) meant nothing. Absolutely nothing.

"Uh…sure." She put her teacup back on the table.

Wendy smiled and put her cup back on the table too. "Well." She put her hands down on her knees and stood up. "Let's not waste anytime; we still have a lot more activities to take part in."

Judy almost choked. "There's more?"

Wendy beamed. "Oh yeah! There's more!"
