Chapter 17 Fun Activities Part 2

"Oh yeah!" Wendy exclaimed as she held a camera in her hands. "That is beyond adorable!" She flashed another picture of Judy, who by this point was getting really tired. Sure, the act of striking different poses wasn't exhausting per say, but after such a long time of doing nothing but, Judy severely wished that she could do something else.

"Yeah baby!" Wendy grinned as she lowered the camera away from her face. "Now, can you strike a pose with your back to the camera?"

Judy raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't that be a little weird, given how most pictures feature the subject's face?"

Wendy giggled. "You didn't let me finish. Put your back to the camera, and turn your head slightly to the side." She raised the camera once again. "I think that could convey a 'I don't care what people say, I'm stinking adorable' kind of vibe!"

Judy sighed. "If you say so." She turned around, looking back at the camera. She smiled, remembering the various times throughout this whole endeavor where Wendy had told her to smile, and smile wide. Wendy snapped a couple of photos, and as she did, Judy internally prayed that they would satisfy her captor. It felt as if she had been striking poses for hours (even though the clock revealed it had only been forty five minutes). She wanted to rest; desperately wanted to rest.

Wendy snapped the last picture. She looked at it on the screen, looking like she was just minutes away from swooning. Judy sweat. Please let that be enough for her. PLEASE let that be enough for her!

"Okay," Wendy said. She put the camera back in her shell. "I think we're all set for now."

Judy breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness! She never wanted to have her picture taken again! In fact, she didn't even want to SEE another camera, as every single one she saw from now on would remind her of this grueling "activity." Just the thought of seeing another camera made her shudder like she would if she was being hunted by a predator.

"I've gotta say," Wendy said. "You were a very good fashion model. You didn't complain, you didn't slip up, and you always delivered the best smile possible!" She beamed. "It was really impressive Judy. I mean, I already knew you'd be good at this given how you're naturally adorable, but you really went above and beyond."

"Uh…thanks." Judy wiped some dust off her dress, not knowing how to feel about these compliments.

"So now…" Wendy approached. "This next activity is one I have a feeling is going to be loads of fun! It's fast paced, it's thrilling, and it has the threat of death if you're not careful enough!"

"Well, I'm sold," Judy said with a raised eyebrow. "What exactly is this activity?"

Wendy just laughed. "You'll see." She took Judy's hand. "Come on!"

With that, they exited the room. Judy ran through the various activities that fit the descriptors Wendy gave in her mind. Her first thought was sky diving, but she reasoned that was a silly thought. After all, how was Wendy able to wear a parachute with that humongous shell on her back? It wouldn't fit, and even if it did, the bag would get punctured on one of her numerous spikes. So yeah, sky diving was off the table. But then, what exactly was it going to be? Every other thought that flitted into Judy's mind didn't make a lick of sense for one reason or another. Oh, now she pretty much had to see what Wendy had in store. Not getting the answer to her question would only serve to make her go more insane than someone shot in the neck with night howler serum.

After a while, the girls arrived in a room that looked more like a garage than anything else. The floor was made of a smooth type of cement Judy would think to find in a garage, and on one of the walls was a large door that slid upwards to open. Again, Judy couldn't help but call this a garage. It honestly struck her as odd that a large building such as a castle would have one.

However, that wasn't the oddest thing about this room. That honor belonged to what the room was housing. Judy's eyes grew wide as she looked at what she assumed were some types of vehicles (even though they looked nothing like any of the vehicles in her world). They were bowl shaped, painted white save for a special color along the rim and a clown face of sorts plastered on the front. As they got closer, Judy was surprised to see that each of these vehicles had a propeller situated down on the bottom.

"What in Zootopia are these?" she asked, only realizing that she couldn't really say that in this world after saying it.

"These are Koopa Clown Cars." Wendy hopped into one with a pink rim. "And we're gonna race em."

Judy did a double take. "Race them?"

"Yep! Me and my brothers used to do that all the time when I was younger. We haven't done them recently though, which only makes my nostalgia associated with the activity even stronger." She looked at Judy with eyes that twinkled like stars. "So, I figured, why not? It's a lot of fun, and there's no doubt in my mind that you'll enjoy that."

Judy snorted at that, once again questioning how she could find any activity fun while under duress. However… she also had to admit that she was at least intrigued. She had no idea how these vehicles worked, so her natural curiosity was going off. With careful yet interested steps, she went over to a Clown Car with a light blue rim and hopped in. The second she did, she noticed the control system situated near the front. There were numerous buttons, as well as a joystick that she theorized was used for steering.

"How do you use this thing?" Out of curiosity, she pressed a yellow button. She heard the engine roaring to life, which did help her to smile a little. However, she still didn't know how to make the vehicle move, nor what all the other buttons were for.

"It's really easy," Wendy said. She rose into the air, an action that entranced Judy. "Just press the red button to rise."

Judy nodded, searching the control panel for a red button. She pressed it upon finding it, preparing herself to rise in the air. As a consequence, the fire shooting out of the mouth terrified her. She shrieked, falling backwards as her heart raced.

"Oops, did I say red button?" Wendy laughed. "I meant to say green button."

Judy rolled her eyes. "Of course you did…" she stood up and pressed the green button, which thankfully helped her to rise. She grasped the joystick, trying to get a feel for the control scheme. Judy supposed this whole experience was similar to a video game, which was a concept that she was at the very least acquainted with. Even still, she had a little trouble finding her groove. Maybe this was because she was afraid of falling or it could be because the controls for the Koopa Clown Car were very buggy. Either way, she moved with choppy, cautious movements throughout the air.

"This…" she shuddered as the Clown Car came to an abrupt stop. "This could be easier."

"Don't overthink it," Wendy said. She flew up to her. "It can be as smooth as butter if you allow it to be. You just have to approach the situation without fear."

Judy nodded. Without fear…without fear. She took a deep breath, gently pushing the joy stick forward. She moved forward at a slow speed, one that helped her to feel more relaxed. With a smile, she pulled upwards. She found that this was much easier than she original speculated, which helped her feel…happy. Yeah, she couldn't believe she was feeling happy in her captor's presence either, but she at least found it to be a very sweet feeling.

"I think I'm getting the hang of it!"

"Yeah you are!" Wendy grinned. "Now, let's make our way outside so that was can have a race!"

The two girls waited in front of a starting line on a track just outside the castle. Judy studied the track, seeing how they were no obstacles that could get in her path. This comforted her a little, but not by much. She could still get severely injured if she accidentally fell out of the clown car.

"The race will be three laps around the track," said Wendy. "Whoever is the first to cross the finish line will be the winner. You know, just like in a Mario Kart race."

"Mario Kart race?" Judy asked.

"Oh." Wendy laughed. "Sorry, I forgot you're from another world." She face forward. "Now, let's get ready." She rose into the air, and Judy did the same thing. "Three… two… one… GO!"

And with that, they zipped off. Well, Wendy zipped off; Judy flew at a fairly slow pace. She grit her teeth, trying to figure out how to make her clown car go faster. She found her answer when she titled the joystick forward, causing her to bolt forward like a peregrine falcon.

"WOOHOO!" Wendy cried.

Judy smiled. I'm gonna wipe that smile right off her face. She shot around the track, feeling the wind running through her ears. The whole experience was thrilling, so the activity did meet that one descriptor Wendy had applied to it. She turned around the corner, noting that yes, the controls were in fact smooth as butter. Judy laughed, feeling like she was on top of the world despite every single one of the present circumstances.

"TWO LAPS TO GO!" Wendy called out as she zipped over the finish line.

Judy smirked. Oh, you're not winning that easily. She moved at incredible speeds, the propeller of her clown car spinning so fast that it caused some of the dirt on the ground below to whip upward. Judy leaned forward, sweat forming all over her little rabbit body. She didn't care. She was going to pass Wendy.

"ONE LAP TO GO!" Wendy called out as she crossed the finish line again.

Judy grit her teeth. "I can do this." If she couldn't have any other form of satisfaction in this scenario, she at least wanted to earn the achievement of beating her captor in a race. Seriously, how great would that be? It'd be like Judy showing she still had power in this situation, still had the ability to come out on top in a situation where she was currently at rock bottom.

She leaned forward. She was just a few inches away from Wendy. As she went up beside her, Wendy flashed her a surprised look.

"Hello there!" Judy said with a grin. She zipped past Wendy. The reptilian girl gasped and tried her best to catch up. Judy, however, wasn't going to let her. She was going to win this race. She was going to beat Wendy and her lack of a moral compass into the ground. She was almost at the finish line. Almost there, almost…

"YESS!" She held her hands up in celebration as her car crossed the finish line. She instantly regretted doing so though, as taking her hands off the control meant that she lost control of the car. She crashed to the ground.

"Oh my goodness!" Wendy exclaimed. She floated down to Judy, lying in a pile of dirt. "Are you okay?"

Judy sighed. "I… I'm fine." She stood up, spitting some dirt out of her mouth. She also noticed that her dress was covered in patches of dirt and holes, meaning that it was effectively ruined.

"Oh mama," Wendy said. "I'm glad you're okay, but your dress…." She shook her head. "Looks like you'll have to take it off and put your old clothes back on."

Judy sighed in relief. Oh, good! Wendy was allowing her one comforting thing in this scenario! She could already imagine the feel of her ZPD uniform on her body, and it made her smile.

"It is impressive that you won the race."

"I know!" Judy bounced into the air. "Pretty impressive for a girl who's never flown a Clown Car in her life. WOO!" She raised her fist into the air. "I am on fire."

"That's great." Wendy smiled and turned back to the castle. "Now come with me. We want to get you cleaned up and changed so we can go shopping."

Judy blinked. "Shopping?"

"Oh yeah!" Wendy exclaimed. "Shopping!"
