Moving In
Today was the day. Finn and I were finally moving into our townhouse. Mom and Luke were helping so we were hoping that it wouldn't take too long. Mom still wasn't crazy about me moving in with Finn but I was hoping that once she saw the townhouse and got to know Finn better that she'd change her mind. Finn and I were loading up the last of the boxes in our storage unit when something occurred to me. "Finny?" I said.
He turned and looked at me. "Yes, kitten?"
"What do your parents think about us moving in together?" I asked him.
He smiled at me. "They support us. Mom thinks that you're the best thing that ever happened to me and I happen to agree with her." He said. He walked over and wrapped his arms around me.
"You always know the right thing to say." I said.
Once we had the truck loaded, we headed to our new home. I still couldn't believe that it was ours. When Finn and I decided that we were moving to New York, we spent weeks looking at places and nothing seemed to be the right fit. But then one day our real estate agent called and said that she had a property to show us. The minute that I walked through the front door I fell in love with it. It had three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, finished basement, library and it even had a fenced in backyard so that maybe we could even get a dog (I'd always wanted one). It has a beautiful stone patio. I couldn't wait to decorate. And I hated decorating, but the beauty of this place was that it was all ours.
When we pulled up Mom and Luke were already waiting. "I wasn't sure that I was in the right place at first." Mom said.
"Nope. This is it." I said, smiling.
Mom sighed. "Well give me the grand tour." She said. I smiled. At least she was trying.
Mom and I walked up the front porch steps and I unlocked the front door and propped it open for the guys. I showed Mom around the house while the guys unloaded the truck. When I finished showing mom around I waited for her to say something but she said nothing. "Can you say something, please?" I asked.
"Ror, this is…this is a great place you've got." She finally said.
I sighed with relief. "Really?"
She nodded. "Yeah kid. Finn might be good for you after all." She said.
"Thanks mom."
After the guys got everything unloaded from the truck Mom and I started unpacking the boxes and putting things away. Mom and I talked a little bit while we unpacked.
That night after everything was unpacked and Mom and Luke had left, Finn and I were laying in our bed. I sighed. "You okay, babe?" He asked me.
I nodded from my spot on his chest. "Yeah, everything is perfect."
