Chapter 27: Peter "Adds" Things Up
Several days after the siege and upgrade…
Captain Jake and his crew are at Captain Colossus's island fortress. The crew has been telling him about what the Tree did to their home. They are now discussing whether or not to reveal the identities. The crew didn't think that revealing the identities was a good idea. They are still nervous that everyone else will freak out.
"I know you guys don't wanna reveal the identities. I know that you guys are scared of everyone else freaking out. But we can't keep it a secret forever. Nothing can be kept silent forever, you know. Things will have to be revealed soon." Captain Colossus said.
"Yeah. Guys, my dad is correct, we can't keep it a secret forever. I think we can let only those who we trust know who we really are, dad. It's because they trusted us when we fought. So, why can't we trust them with everything, hmm?" Jake said.
"Yeah. But how will we make sure that everyone doesn't freak out? We know that everyone will have to know everything eventually. Maybe we can let Peter and Tink know first, by giving them clues on what happened using our past adventures, since some of the legends did come true. Then we'll discuss what to do next along with them. That's what I think is the best plan." Izzy said.
"Oh, yeah. That's perfect, Izzy! Your and mine's past did happen to us! Of course, why didn't we think of that earlier, this is brilliant! That's what we'll do then. It's time to reveal who we truly are, and this time there's no more hiding." Jake said.
The crew then went back home. For the rest of the day, they went on patrol, checking on how the systems were working out, and they sent a letter to Peter containing hints about what truly happened. They also tried out new battle techniques for the future.
Meanwhile, Peter and the other captains are discussing why the Tree chose the crew to carry its power. They are both confused and still shocked at what happened. They still have questions about the prophecy that they didn't understand.
"I don't get it. Why was Jake and his crew the chosen ones? Everything that happened is just too sudden for us. The prophecy also did state that the chosen ones will find out secrets about their past." Captain Flynn said in a frustrating tone.
"I know right. Although, the crew did save the Tree and everything from disappearing three years ago. It's because saving the Tree keeps Neverland from disappearing. But this doesn't mean that the tree really trusts them, does it? I don't think that's the reason why the Tree chose the crew. There must be a deeper meaning behind what happened." Peter said.
"I think it does, Peter. Hear me out, the Tree trusts the crew so much because of what happened three years ago. It was rejuvenated by the crew, but it doesn't know how to repay them. So it decided to help them in their most dangerous situation. I think that's what caused the fusion. It wants to say 'thank you for everything that you guys did. And for believing in Neverland.' At least that's what I think." Beatrice Le Beak said.
"I don't think so. Although the Tree was saved by the crew, I just think that there's a much much deeper reason for it. The Tree is reacting to this situation. It's reaction is almost really desperate, like it's an emergency." Peter said.
Everyone nodded in agreement. They also realize that the Tree is reacting to the situation. Although, they are still confused about the prophecy. And the fact that the crew were the chosen ones.
"I think that if the crew weren't able to defeat the legion, everything would fall under the legion's control. Which in turn, the Tree might be corrupted or destroyed by the Legion. This'll make the world disappear, since the tree is the power of the land. After all, the prophecy did state that the fate of everything was in the crew's hands and that they would find out their origins. Their origins are still unknown because I adopted them." Peter continued.
"So, what would their origins be? I think that all that has happened might give us some clues on their origins. But too many things happened to zoom in on the real story. It's just so frustrating, and difficult to figure out!" everyone else stated.
"I think that pretty soon me and Tink will find out. But I have a feeling that it's something really shocking for you guys. Too shocked for us to tell you guys about for the time being." Peter said.
"Oh, the origins are too much for us? We'll just have to keep up things without knowing what happened. Hopefully, we'll figure it out ourselves." everyone else said.
Everyone then left to do what they were doing. For everyone else, it's a mystery to what happened with the crew's origins. But they are still hoping that the crew will tell them what happened.
When Peter and Tink got back home, they found a letter from the crew. In the letter it says that Peter and Tink earned the crew's trust, so they decided to give hints about their origins. The hints were: what caused Jake to become captain, why did Izzy went off on her own one day, and which persons do the crew look like after they activated their new powers.
"Hmm, Jake became captain after his sword lifted the Mighty Colossus, and once he activated the new powers, he does look like Captain Colossus. Does this mean that- OMG! It makes perfect sense now to why the crew kept everything a secret! This is too shocking for anyone to comprehend!" Peter and Tink thought aloud.
"If that is so, Izzy flew off by herself because no one believed in the legend of Queen Isabella, and once her new powers were activated, she did look like Queen Isabella. If we keep going down this trend, then it means- The crew are the legendary pirates' descendants! This is too crazy and too much to comprehend, but since they trusted us. We'll have to keep this secret together, but first we will have to reply to the letter. And then we'll figure out what to do next together." Peter and Tink continued to think aloud.
After realizing the shocking truth, Peter immediately started writing back to the crew members. After the letter was sent, Peter started to look at books about the legendary pirates. For the rest of the day, Peter and Tink continued to research about the legends that the crew's carrying on.
Several days after Peter sent the letter to confirm their thoughts, the crew replied to the letter. On the letter it states:
Dear Peter and Tink,
Your thoughts about us were correct. The Tree told us the shocking truth, and it was confirmed by a vision that we saw. We know that the truth is way too shocking to comprehend. Even we were shocked at first, but over time we got used to our new identities.
Speaking of who knows our identities, it's only us and "Jake's dad" that knows it besides you two. Don't let the others know, at least not right now. If the others know, then they might not wanna work with us anymore. Therefore, leaving us to handle everything by ourselves.
We hope that letting you two know will ease the worrisome feeling that you two had. We were really stressed and the identities added a lot of pressure. It'll also ease the stress and pressure that we had. Thanks guys for understanding.
From your crewmates, Jake and his crew
After reading the letter, Peter and Tink realize that the crew had been doing this for the last couple of months. They were seriously shocked at what happened. They immediately started to rethink everything that had happened. They were really impressed by the fact that the crew managed to get to this point. For the rest of the day, Peter and Tink continued to explore the lands outside of the mainland.
