Chapter 28: The Shocking Truth and Next Steps

The next day, Captain Jake and his crew decided to invite Peter, Tink, and Captain Colossus to the hideout. The crew decided to ask them what to do next. They are now discussing the prophecy and the truth about the crew.

"I still can't get over the fact that you guys are the chosen ones. I didn't expect that my personal crew would be legendary descendants. Until the prophecy came true, that is. To be honest, everyone including me and Tink, were super confused about why you guys were chosen. I didn't know that you guys were descendants until yesterday. Guess that was the missing part of the puzzle to the prophecy." Peter said.

"Yep. When I read the letter that came from the other captains, I immediately thought of you guys being the 'chosen ones'. So what's the next step for us? We can't hide the truth forever. I think that we should keep it a secret, at least just a little bit longer. Or until we know that everything has calmed down and that everything is back to normal." Captain Colossus said.

"Yeah, but how will we reveal the truth without everyone else freaking out? We have to make sure that nobody is shocked and that they'll still work together with us for certain missions. If the villains come back with stronger powers, we'll certainly need everyone to defeat them." the crew said.

"Yeah, you guys are correct. If the others learn the truth, they'll probably freak out, and won't work together with us anymore. Due to the fact that you guys can handle everything by yourselves now. It'll be very difficult to explain everything to everyone else. So, how'll we reveal everything about you guys without everyone freaking out?" Captain Colossus said.

"Well, we could do the reveal using hints again, like how you guys revealed the truth to me and Tink. But I think that a better idea is to illustrate what happened by doing a play. It would make everyone feel what happened. It would also make everyone understand what your thoughts were when you guys kept it a secret." Peter said.

The crew nodded in understanding. They know they have to reveal everything eventually. They are still trying to figure out how to reveal the truth to everyone else. And that they won't shock them to the point where they won't stop working with the crew anymore.

"Well, I think that we should use hints first. It's because they know most of our past adventures and they know us really well. To the point that they trust us with everything. But if they still don't understand the prophecy fully, then we'll explain everything fully to everyone else. This way, we have more time to think about how to explain everything. Agreed?" Izzy said.

"Yeah. This way, we have more time to prepare ourselves for the reveal. Also, we won't make everyone worry about us too much, and they will use their 'common sense' for a little while. It's a win-win situation for everyone." Jake said in a casual tone.

"Okay. We'll do it like this: I'll notify everyone that me and Tink just figured out your origins, but me and Tink can only give them hints about them. I'll then give them a riddle about your pasts, to make them guess who you guys really are." Peter said.

"That's perfect! It'll make everyone feel as if they're solving a mystery. When in reality, they are figuring out who the crew had become because of the prophecy! Smart idea, Peter." Captain Colossus said.

It's gonna be super difficult for everyone to guess what really happened. We'll make it into a challenge for everyone, except for you guys, that is. At the end, you guys will reveal the answer, 'bombing' everyone with surprise. Whoever gets the closest wins. So, what do you guys think? It's brilliant, isn't it?" Peter continued.

"That. Is. Perfect! All we have to do is verify if everyone else is correct or not! It might take a couple of days for them to fully figure things out. In order to make sure that everyone understands the prophecy fully, we'll have to figure out a timeframe, for the challenge that is." the crew stated.

Everyone then started discussing about the challenge. Everyone decided that the challenge should go on for 2 weeks. Everyone also decided that the crew and Captain Colossus will be writing the riddle and be verifiers for the challenge. Then, Peter, Tink, and Captain Colossus went home to prepare for the "reveal." For the rest of the day, the crew practiced for the future, checked on how the systems are working out, and started brainstorming for the riddles.
