Chapter 29: Unveiling the Mysteries of the Past (Part 1)
Several days after the discussion…
Everyone gathered at a beach on the mainland. They were contacted by Peter using letters. They were shocked when Peter told them that he did figure out the crew's origins along with Captain Colossus.
"So, did you guys figure out their origins? What happened to Captain Jake and his crew that changed them so drastically? It was really a gigantic and confusing 'headache' for us!" Everyone else exclaimed in a curious tone.
"Well…we did." Peter said after taking a glance at the crew. Everyone else gasped in shock at the sentence. They never imagined that two of the closest people to them would figure things out. "But we can't tell you guys directly what happened. You guys will have to figure out the identities yourselves." Peter continued.
"Here's how you guys will figure things out. You guys have to solve a series of riddles about us that contains the truth about who we are. You guys can work together in groups for extra knowledge. You guys may use any additional resources for extra support. You guys will have two weeks to figure things out. It might be very difficult to understand who we are and what we became due to the prophecy. Just a warning: our past is not what everyone thought it seems to be." the crew said.
The crew then passed the riddles out to everyone else who hadn't figured out the identities of the crew. When they read it, they are extremely perplexed by the riddles. On the papers it states:
Our Past
Although our past is already known,
We know that there are
Things that are hidden within.
For that everything is not
What it seems to be!
Our biological parents
Sended us away to keep
Us safe until it is
The right time
To awaken our destinies.
We have always
Wondered who we are,
But now we found that
The truth is right in front
Of us this entire time!
Jake's Past
What happened two years ago
Surprised us all.
My sword pulled up
A legendary ship
To defeat a common enemy.
At first I had no idea
If it had a reason,
But then my sword
Change me in a way
That no one
Had seen it coming.
But little did I know that
For the time being,
That this is just the first steps
Of me revealing my past
And my destiny.
Izzy's Past
Two years and
Six months ago,
I found something
Unbelievable that
Came true only because of
My beliefs about a queen in
A crazy legend of a treasure
That the biography
Has predicted.
Although my crew
Didn't believe it at first,
They did when
I found the treasure
And became the queen
For the day.
Little did me and my crew
Knew at the time,
This is the beginning of
Me finding out
My destiny and my past.
Cubby's Past
Six years and
Six months ago,
Me and my crew
Explored a ruin
That housed a
Legendary map that
Only some people
Can read it because
Of its magical powers
My crew tried to
Unlock its secrets
By doing a trial
One at a time,
But they failed
To no avail.
Until I came to
Take the trial
And passed
Without any problems
When I got the map
The back said something.
On the back it said
"When the right time comes
The descendent of the owner of
This map shall be revealed."
At that time,
I didn't understand
What it means,
But now I realized
That "the descendant"
Meant it was me all along!
Skully's Past
Seven years and
Six months ago,
I was hatched by my crew.
But after I hatched
Something incredible happened
The eggshell pieces became a telescope
For me and my team to use.
When we looked at it
We saw something crazy
That we couldn't believe.
On the side of the telescope
Were the following words
"When the right time comes,
The bird that you guys hatched
Will know his shocking past
alongside you all because
Of your destinies."
At the time,
We didn't understand
What it meant,
But now we know
That we are
A legendary team
That is meant
To be together!
Bucky's Past
Three years and
Eight months ago,
We temporarily lost our ship
To an old enemy of ours.
In order to recover it,
We had to find a golden bell.
When we receive the bell,
Something unbelievable
Had been written on it.
On the bell were the following words:
"When the right time comes,
Your ship will become
Much much bigger than
The legendary ship itself.
All because of
Your destinies combined
And the 'forbidden' truth
is revealed."
At the time,
We didn't understand
What it meant.
But now that
Everything is revealed,
We realized that
Everything's meant to be!
"So, does anyone have any questions? About the riddles or what happened?" Jake and his crew asked. "Does anyone need a recap of what happened at the battle?"
Those who weren't at the fight raised their hands. Everyone else started to tell them what happened at the final battle. [Insert flashback from chapters 21,22,23,24, and 25] After explaining what happened, the other captains begin to break up into groups to try and figure out the crew' identities.
"Hey Captain Chen," called the Ghost Pirate. "I think that you and I should work together. I read that in Chinese mythology there's a way for 'superpowered deities' to view other peoples' relationships and how it affects their destinies. I think that it might help us understand what the riddles mean."
"I think that's a great idea," Captain Chen replied. "Since the lines can show relationships that change the crew's destinies drastically. I also think that the crew's origins might have been revealed when they activated their 'new powers.' I noticed that when the crew were in their secondary outfits, they looked like certain legendary captains. Maybe that'll give us some clues."
"OMG! You're right!" the Ghost Pirate exclaimed. "I haven't noticed the outfit similarities until now! Jake's new and regular outfit bears resemblance to Captain Colossus! Izzy's new outfit bears resemblance to Queen Isabella! But I'm still not sure if it's the correct answer to the riddles AKA the crew's origins."
"Guess that there's only one way to find out." Captain Chen said. "Let's look at the relationship lines and the riddles to figure out exactly who their parents were, since we aren't sure if we're correct or not, that is. I think that the crew's origins will be really shocking for us."
"Agreed," the Ghost Pirate replied. "Since the outfits are just a speculation, and that we're still not sure 100% about the crew's origins. Also, the fact that we can use any other resources that we have just makes it a little bit easier. Another way to figure things out is that I could also ask the dead captains for what they remember about it. But I would consider that to be an act of cheating. Let's get started on viewing the lines."
The two captains then chanted a spell. It transported their minds to a space where the lines existed. They then started to search for the crew's causal lines. When they finally found the crew's lines, they immediately began discussing the lines' relatedness to the riddles and the crew's origins.
"Interesting…" Captain Chen said. "Each crew member has two lines that connect to legendary pirates. One has been known because it was mentioned in the riddles. But the other line is completely unknown and it's unviewable for some reason. It's also at an equal brightness level which makes both lines equally important. This means that the unviewable line can only be viewed by the people that already know what happened. So, I guess that we're gonna have to show the crew what happened."
"Yeah." the Ghost Pirate replied. "I think that this is the 'key' that we're looking for in order to solve the crew's origins. But since the line is unviewable, we're gonna have to show the crew what we saw and let them tell us the rest of the story. Let's go back to the real world and write down what we saw. I think that we can't solve the origins until we show the crew what we saw. I also have a feeling that we're going to be the only ones using this method to figure things out."
The captains then returned to the real world by chanting another spell. After they returned, they immediately drew out each crew members' connection lines.
A couple of days later, Jake and his crew were contacted by Captain Chen and the Ghost Pirate. They met up at the crew's hideout to tell the crew what they had discovered. The two captains are nervous and excited to see the crew's reactions to what they discovered. When they got to the crew's hideout, they were greeted by Jake and his crew.
"Hey there guys," the captains started. "We sent a letter to you guys a couple of days ago. It's because we had found something interesting about your origins. Here's what we know: in Chinese mythology, there are lines that show people' relationships and how it affects their destinies. We call these lines 'causal lines.'"
The crew nodded. When the captains sent them the letter, they mentioned that they were using something from Chinese mythology. Because of this, the crew weren't surprised by the statement that the captains had made.
"We discovered that you guys each had two 'causal lines' that connect to legendary pirates. Although we weren't able to view the second line, we noticed that the first line was mentioned in the riddles. We were 'stumped' by the lines, so much so that we decided to ask for assistance from you guys. Here's what we noticed." The captains continued.
The two captains then pulled out a piece of parchment. On the parchment, there were lines depicting the crew's "causes and effects" on their destinies. When the crew sees the parchment, they immediately give each other glances. Then, the crew stepped aside to talk about what the captains had discovered.
"Well, it looks like Captain Chen and the Ghost Pirate sorta figured out our origins." Jake said. "But they're having a difficult time deciphering their findings. Should we show them our interpretation of the lines? It could untangle a lot of the confusion that they had."
"Yeah," the other crew members replied. "The way that we interpret the lines will make everything that they were confused by clearing things up. It'll also make more sense to them compared to the parchment that they created."
After discussing, the crew turned back to the captains, and told them that they were partially correct about their origins. They then pulled out another parchment that had the lines on it in their perspective. When the captains saw the crew's versions of the lines, their minds began to recover the forgotten memories as well as temporarily becoming another self that knew what truly happened. [Insert montage of the captains recovering their memories] It also made the captains temporarily pass out in their minds to make them see what happened. When the captains woke up and explained everything that they saw to the crew, the crew then quickly explained their side of the story.
"So," the crew started. "Do you guys now understand why we decided to do the reveal now, instead of at an earlier time? We found out the forgotten truth from the tree through a letter to us, and it was confirmed by a vision that we saw. We decided to keep it a secret in order to keep everyone from freaking out and being too shocked. We were worried that if we told you guys everything, you guys wouldn't work with us anymore due to the fact that we can handle everything by ourselves now."
The captains nodded with understanding. They now understand what caused the prophecy to choose Jake and his crew as the bearers of the prophecy. They now also understand what were the origins of the crew roles in the prophecy.
"I see now." Captain Chen said. "You guys were worried that we would freak out and be too shocked about your pasts. To the point that we won't work with you guys anymore. Now that I think about it, if the villains come back with stronger powers, we'll definitely have to work together to defeat them."
"Yeah." the Ghost Pirate said. "Everything happens for a reason. You guys were trying to keep everyone from freaking out, which causes everyone to be extremely confused. But now, you guys feel that it's time to reveal everything, which came in the form of the challenge that you give us. So, what should we do next? Now that we figured out everything, that is."
"Hmm," Jake said. "I think that we should first tell everyone that you two (pointing to the two captains) that you guys figured out our origins. Then, you guys can explain how you guys found it out. After that, we'll show them the parchments to show them what the relationships were and how they affected us. I feel that this is the best way to make everyone understand how everything came to be."
Everyone else nodded in agreement. They all think that telling everyone that Captain Chen and the Ghost Pirate found out what happened first was the best thing to do. Telling those who haven't figured out yet also makes the other captains more ready for the realization that the answers were right in front of them.
"Okay." Captain Chen and the Ghost Pirate said. "But we'll have to explain everything slowly. This way, everyone else that doesn't know yet will understand it better. We'll also have to make a plan together along with those who know already. This way, we can make sure that we are all ready for the reveal."
The crew nodded in agreement, and then discussed when to make everyone that knew meet. Then, the two captains left to do their own things. For the rest of the day, the crew checked on their surveillance system, prepared for the reveal, and practiced for future battles. They also sent letters to Peter and Captain Colossus to let them know who found out their past.
