Chapter 31: Rise of the New Protectors

Captain Jake and his crew read about a legendary prophecy. They had a bad dream about the legion. Peter sent a warning that the legion of pirate villains was back. The legion is planning an attack on the mainland. The crew immediately warned everyone about the attack. Everyone is preparing for the attack. They found out that they are the ones who will save all of Neverland. They got big upgrades due to the Forever Tree fusing with them. They now have different identities, looks, personalities, abilities, and tools.
Captain Jake and his crew then showed everyone the prophecy. Everyone started to think about who the "mysterious team" is. Everyone also decided to enlist Captain Colossus for help. The crew started their new powers practice. Captain Colossus found out the truth about the "mysterious team". He decided to send a letter to the crew to confirm his thoughts. When the crew saw the letter, they decided that they would explain everything to Captain Colossus. After explaining everything, they decided to keep in contact. The crew then saw a vision of what happened in the past, which confirmed who their biological parents were. Meanwhile, the legion is starting their plan by performing a spell that manipulates the other captains' memories. Although the spell worked, the crew quickly reversed the spell.
The legion then corrupted Captain Hook into working for them. They did it by casting a spell that "freezes the heart" of the person under the spell. This makes them not feel any emotion. Captain Jake and his crew told the others about the legion's plan. The original crew of Captain Hook told the others about their captain's behavior after the spell. This made everyone extremely worried. Everyone is starting to think that the prophecy won't happen due to difficulty understanding it. Captain Jake and his crew quickly convinced everyone to trust the prophecy. Several days before the big battle, everyone arrived to discuss the plan for battle. On the day of the full moon, the battle officially begins. Everyone tried to defeat the legion in the penultimate battle. But they failed to due to Captain Hook turning all the ships to stone using the Doom Stone.
Everyone then regrouped at a different beach on the mainland. The other captains and Peter are scared to the point that they want to surrender. Captain Jake and his crew quickly realize that everyone's hope is extremely low. So, the crew told the others that although everything that happened might be scary, they shouldn't give up. They also told them that it's because everyone has weaknesses, but it makes them stronger than before. Then, all of a sudden, the crew's tools reacted by lifting another gigantic ship. Everyone couldn't believe that the crew just repeated what happened two years ago. Everyone was confused by the origin of the ship, but it was soon revealed. When everyone boarded the ship, something marvelous and breathtaking happened. Jake and his crew were revealed to be the "mysterious team", which shocked everyone in absolutely disbelief and amazement. The crew then explained what the prophecy really did, which surprised everyone.
In the ultimate battle, everyone was fighting the legion. But when the legion got possessed by an evil god, the other captains and Peter decided to retreat, leaving the crew to fight for them. Although the battle was extremely difficult, the crew succeeded in defeating the legion. When they got back to shore, everyone was super impressed with what happened. The others then punished the legion for their bad deeds by making them take care of the Tick-Tock Croc. The others then discussed with the crew on restoration. The crew told them that they have a way to restore everything by casting a spell. The others decided to trust the crew in their new abilities. The crew then casted the spell making everything return to normal.
After everything was returned to normal, the crew noticed that their hideout was transformed into a new mansion-like headquarters. The new headquarters has a lot more updates including separate bedrooms, guest bedrooms, and a multimedia room. The new headquarters also doubles as a military base. A couple of days later, the crew discussed with Captain Colossus about revealing their forgotten past to everyone, starting with Peter and Tinkerbell by sending a letter that contains hints about their past. Meanwhile, everyone else was discussing why the crew was chosen for the prophecy. Some people think that the crew was chosen due to saving the Tree three years ago. Others think that the Tree was just reacting to the situation due to the fact that if the villains take over Neverland, the continent will disappear after the tree gets destroyed by the villains. When Peter and Tink got the letter, they realized what the crew's origins were by connecting the hints together.
A couple of days after Peter and Tink found out the origins, the crew invited them and Captain Colossus to discuss how to reveal their origins without everyone else overreacting to the truth. Peter and Tink were seriously impressed by how well the crew adapted to their new identities and how they kept their secret for such a long time. The crew along with Captain Colossus and Peter discussed several ways to reveal everything including from doing a play to using riddles. After discussing for a while, the crew along with everyone else decided to use a series of riddles as a starting point to allow everyone that didn't know the crew's origins figure it out.
Several days after the discussion, everyone met on a beach on the mainland. Everyone was shocked when they heard that the crew told their origins to Peter and Captain Colossus. Everyone was here to accept the challenge that the crew had given to them by trying to solve the series of riddles about the crew's origins. One of the teams that consists of Captain Chen and the Ghost Pirate used a resource from Chinese mythology to partially figure out the crew's origins. After showing the resource to the crew, they were able to fully recover the crew's "forgotten past."
Three days after Captain Chen and the Ghost Pirate recovered the "forgotten past," everyone that knows the crew's pasts gathered to discuss how to make everyone else understand the prophecy. Four days after the meeting with everyone that knows the crew's origins, everyone gathered on the beach again for the results of the challenge. With the help of Captain Chen, the Ghost Pirate, and the crew, everyone else finally realized what was the crew's origins. Then, all of a sudden, 4 bracelets and 2 new flags mysteriously appeared out of a portal. As well as everything written about the crew's origins were combined into the prophecy book. The book also made a letter appear that landed in Jake's hand.
And now…
Everyone including the crew is confused about what just happened. The book is still floating in midair, as if it was waiting for something. When the crew saw this, they immediately started discussing what was going on.
"What just happened?" Cubby said. "Everything written about our pasts has been combined with the prophecy book. It also looks like we have some new items on our hands. What do you guys think they are for? I think that something bigger is now in store for us."
"Definitely." Izzy said. "I also think that the book is about to make our 'legacy' become permanent and restoring everyone's memories. I also have a feeling that after today, everything will change in a very big way. I also think that the book will be a way for us to communicate to everyone else in the future."
"Guess there's only one way to find out," Jake said. "Let's read the letter that we got. I have a feeling that the letter will explain our concerns and questions. I also have a feeling that this letter will have to be shown to everyone else."
The crew opened the letter and started to read it. As they read the letter, they begin to show concerned and worried looks. They are extremely hesitant to show the letter to everyone else. On the letter it says:
Dear Captain Jake and his crew,
Congratulations on defeating the Legion of Villains. However, the villains are now a part of a much much bigger problem, which I'll explain later in the letter. As an old saying goes "Wherever light is, darkness always follows." First thing, the book that is floating in the air is not an ordinary book. It is a self-updating biographical memoir of you guys. In order for the book to be completed, you guys will have to create the title for the book using your minds. This'll make everyone understand what happened over the past several months. It'll also be a way for you guys to communicate to everyone else when you guys are on your new missions.
Speaking of your new missions, the new ítems are an identifier for who you are in the upcoming new missions. The bracelets are called "Enchantlets." It's only obtained when someone (in this case, you guys) becomes a Protector of Ever Realm (for you guys, it's in-training). It was mentioned in the last line of the prophecy, as you guys may remember. The new flag on Bucky is to help everyone outside of Neverland understand why you're there. As for the new flag on the headquarters, it shows everyone that you guys are away on the new missions. Please note that some of the new missions will be solo missions (missions where you guys are not together), which is why I gave you the solo powers in the first place. Also, one year outside of Neverland is equal to 4 months in Neverland. This means that one year in Neverland is equal to 3 years outside of Neverland.
As for the missions themselves, they'll require a quick history lesson in order to better understand the missions. Neverland is actually part of a bigger world named the Ever Realm. It has many kingdoms and areas. The area that Peter explored is just a small part of the lands beyond Neverland. Long ago, an evil spirit named Vor was sealed away by the Protectors of Ever Realm in items named The Wicked Nine and in a locket. However, a year and a half (Neverland time) ago, an evil Crystalmaster named Prisma recovered the locket that contained Vor, and decided to recover The Wicked Nine in order to gain ultimate power from Vor. During the nine months (outside world's time) after Prisma recovered Vor's locket, the Protectors relentlessly searched for The Wicked Nine to try and keep them away from Prisma. However, Vor was successfully revived by Prisma after a sneak-in attack. Vor then gave Prisma her ring, which took over Prisma's body as a new host for her. Luckily, an in-training (at the time) protector named Princess Sofia from Enchancia defeated Vor by trapping her inside the Amulet of Avalor and then successfully reformed Prisma.
Now, I know what you guys are wondering about: what does this have to do with us? Well, little did the Protectors know at the time that Vor was destroyed, Vor had a backup plan. A couple of years before Vor was sealed away, she created an item called "The Gem of Darkness" that can revive herself if she got destroyed. Here's the bigger problem with the Legion: when the Legion summoned the evil god, it was actually a piece of The Gem of Darkness that gave them the power. Although it lays dormant right now thanks to you guys, the spirit of the Gem could awaken at any moment in the upcoming couple of months. It then will make the Legion find the rest of the Gem, causing Vor to return. If Vor comes back to the world, she will wreak havoc everywhere, including the real world (where Wendy and her family is) that is. In order to stop the Legion from reviving Vor, you guys will have to go to the Ever Realm and find the rest of the Gem and keep them away from the Legion. The pieces of the Gem are hidden in items the Protectors call "The Sinister Eight." The items are as follows: the Legion's tools (Captain Hook's hook included), Morgana's potion bottle (originally from Ursula), Mamanu's necklace, and Shuriki's (now broken) wand. Along the way, you guys will find allies that will help you. But there will also be many more enemies that are allies with the Legion that you guys will have to face. Despite the odds of success, I believe that you guys can do it. Please note that Protectors training for you guys will start after the next two weeks.
Now, I know that you guys are still worried about one thing: will the land disappear if we leave? The answer is that the land won't disappear. When you guys casted the restoration spell, the new me is integrated into the land itself. So, in a way, I'm now everywhere and anywhere in the area. Hopefully, with this information you guys will have a better understanding of the threat that's coming up. Remember that you guys are fighting for not only yourselves, but for the peace of both worlds. Also, you guys may show everyone this letter to let them know what is going on.

After reading the letter, the crew members exchanged a look, now that they know what they're up against. Then they told everyone else that they'll be right back. The crew is now on the side, and are discussing the letter from the Tree.
"Oh, dear." Izzy said. "It looks like our new missions are a lot more difficult than all those that came before. To be honest, I feel that the Legion just won't quit until they defeat us. Also, now that everything that is about to happen is told to us, I now understand that the prophecy was a test to see if we're ready for our new roles as Protectors."
"I guess so." Cubby replied. "Anyways, what should we name the book? I think that the book title should start with 'The Tale of' to make the book feel like a legacy that will be cherished by everyone. As for the rest of the title, I'm not sure what to do. Since we have been through so many things lately, that is."
"Hmm," Skully said. "My personal opinion is to name the book after the prophecy. Since it started everything after all. I'm also thinking about what to do before the training starts. I think that after we complete the book, we should show the letter to everyone else. This'll make everyone else understand what will be the upcoming bigger threat."
"You got a point there, Skully." Jake said. "My opinion is to name the book after our new roles. I also think that the book should have a subtitle to introduce the book. I definitely agree with Skully that we should show the letter to everyone else. It's because the threat might have a huge impact on everyone. I also have a feeling that the threat will take everything and everyone in order to succeed. The new threat will be extremely dangerous and difficult for everyone to handle, especially those who don't know what they are doing. The only way to have everyone ready is to show the letter."
The other crew members nodded in agreement. They then quickly discussed the book's title and subtitle. At the end of the discussion, the crew chose to name the book after their new roles and the subtitle after the prophecy. Then they rejoined everyone else. When they rejoined everyone, everyone else was still confused about the book.
"So," Captain Flynn said. "What is the book waiting for? It doesn't seem like it is missing something. So, what is it waiting for? If something is missing, we would see it right away. At least so I thought, until now that is. Also, I have a feeling that the book isn't a regular book, or is it?"
"Well…" the crew said after taking a deep breath. "As it turns out, the book IS waiting for something: us. The book is waiting for us in order to complete itself. It's waiting for us because we need to add the title of the new book. This new book will become the only way for us to communicate to you guys when we are 'not in the area.' It'll also make you guys understand what happened over the past couple of months. After today, things will have to be changed due to the fact that we're no longer here sometimes. We'll explain after we complete the book."
The crew then stepped out of the group and sat down in front of the book. After that they closed their eyes and focused, almost as if they're meditating. When everyone saw this, they didn't really understand that currently the book is reacting to the crew's thoughts. Suddenly, the book began to glow super bright. The light is so unbearable to the point that everyone else has to turn away. The book then sent a beam of light that formed in a ring that spread out throughout the area, which made everyone else fell unconscious (except for Captain Colossus, Peter, Tink, Captain Chen, and the Ghost Pirate) due to recovering their forgotten memories. [Insert montage of everyone else recovering their memories] When everyone else woke up, they felt a strange and unaccustomed emotion towards the crew. When the crew saw this, they knew that everything about their past was now no longer a mystery to everyone. The crew then picked up the book, quickly read it through to make sure it was correct, and closed the book.
"Huh?" Captain Flynn said after standing up. "Why do I feel like I almost don't recognize Jake and his crew anymore? It's such a strange feeling that it's making me even more confused. It's almost a proud feeling combined with a 'I don't wanna mess with them' feeling. I don't know what happened that caused this, but I do know that it has something to do with the vision that we saw."
"I think I understand what happened." Beatrice Le Beak said. "When we saw the vision, our minds recovered the lost memories about the crew. The memories told us to treat the crew like they are legends, and that they are the chosen ones. I think that the strange feeling means that we have understood the prophecy fully. It also means that we are ready for the future, and the next steps. Is that right, guys?"
The crew and those who knew about the past already nodded in agreement at the sentence. The crew then quickly explained the true nature of the book, and what it does. When the others heard this, they were all shocked by the fact that the book can update by itself.
"Wait, what?" Captain Frost said. "The book can update by itself?! I never hear anything like that beforehand, but I guess it's worth it because it makes contacting us a lot easier. But still it is unbelievable how much effort the Tree has decided to include in order to make you guys stay in contact with us. By the way, why did you guys say that you guys aren't going to be here full time?"
"We are just about to get to that." the crew stated. "When the Legion summoned the 'evil god,' the tools of the villains had a piece of an artifact inside them. The artifact is a key revival tool to an evil spirit that wants to take over everything and everyone, including where Wendy and her family lives. If the spirit comes back, it could pose a very dangerous situation to everyone. The letter also told us that some of the other pieces of the artifact aren't located in the area that we are currently in. Because of this, we have to go to the other areas to recover the other pieces of the artifact. We'll also have to keep the other pieces of the artifact away from the Legion to prevent them from reviving the spirit. The letter that we got will explain the situation better than we can. It also contains a lot of the info that we just told you, but in more detail."
The crew then gives Peter the letter and the book. After that, everyone else gathered around Peter to read the letter. As they read more of the letter, they begin to look concerned and worried. They also begin to understand that the Legion is now a bigger problem than they originally thought. Peter also understands that he will have to go back to dealing with Captain Hook when the crew isn't around. After reading the letter, everyone else felt extremely nerve-wrecking and extremely distressed about the situation.
"Yikes, this is bad news." Peter said. "So, the Legion is now after the rest of the Gem and will try to revive Vor? This is the most dangerous situation I've ever encountered in eight years. I never thought that the prophecy was this important. The fate of everyone is up to you guys and the Protectors now. Hopefully, everything will work out the way we wanted to, which is to keep Vor from reviving herself. I have the faith that you guys can and will put a stop to the Legion once and for all."
"Basically that is what is going to happen." the crew stated. "We know that it might be upsetting to know that we're no longer here full time, but it's for the safety of everyone. It's also to protect where Wendy and her family lives from an possible upcoming invasion of Vor. We'll succeed no matter the cost, as long as we work together. We have the belief to do so, because we're the Protectors of our world."

After spreading the news across the land, the crew headed back to their headquarters. For everyone else, they went back to doing what they were doing before the meeting. Peter and Tink also started to plan for what to do when the crew's not here. For the rest of the day, the crew checked on their systems, got ready for upcoming training, and practiced for future battles.
