Sonic: What's up fans!
TeamSSSFan: Finally got around to editing Sonic's next chapter, and it took me a while. The story was all over the place.
Sonic: I don't know how a baking contest works! I kept going back and forth on what to do, and I didn't know how I was supposed to describe everything so I kinda just muddled through it. Tell your friend to not pick such a hard plot next time! And sorry to the readers, this is a crappy chapter that I had absolutely no interest in writing.
TeamSSSFan: Honestly, I wasn't to interested in editing it either, I got really bored halfway through.
Sonic: Oh! And 'SonicFan01' I noticed you wanted me to bring in other characters. Originally I was just going to have it be me, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Shadow; but maybe I could make special chapters where I bring in a character or two just for the chapter. This oughta give you more variety, and I can still keep track of the millions of characters. What do you think?

A few of the friends liked Amy's idea, but almost everyone else refused to participate.
"We're supposed to be trying to find a way out!" Prime Sonic argued. "I have a shatterverse to fix, and I can't do that well I'm stuck in here!"
"I need my lighthouse!" Knuckles the Dread loudly complained.
"The shard belongs to the Council." Rusty Rose countered in her robotic monotone.
"I think an old-fashioned bake off could be interesting." Electric Tails reasoned. "I've never participated in one, but it sounds like fun."
"We don't have time for fun!" Prime Shadow shouted.
"Eggman could be wrecking our worlds right now, well we're stuck in this annoying, ever-changing, room!" Extreme Knuckles added.
The whole thing quickly escalated into a shouting match; pitting those in favor of some fun against those who would rather get back home before something terrible happened.
"How about this," Extreme Amy shouted, waving her hammer in the air. Everyone froze and looked cautiously at her. "The winner of the contest gets to choose what the room becomes next. Deal?"
After much debate, almost everyone agreed to the terms; except the jungle, pirate, and New Yoke alternates who didn't know how to bake and refused to be taught. The Shadows also refused at first, but consented when the Sonics started flapping their arms like chickens.
"All right!" Boom Amy clapped her hands. "Why don't we split up into teams of two, and pick a counter. It'll be more fun if we have partners."
"Hey Tails!" All the Sonics but Prince, Prime, and Short chorused. Short simply waved at his Tails. "Want to be my partner?"
The Tails enthusiastically agreed, and the pairs chose counters.
Prince Sonic teamed up with the Knuckles from his dimension.
The shorter Amy and Knuckles decided to work together.
First and Extreme Knuckles paired, leaving their Electric and Boom copies to deal with each other.
First Amy paired up with her Extreme alternate, as First and Extreme Shadow did the same.
The Prime Sonic and Shadow reluctantly teamed up, so Electric and Boom Shadow were stuck together.
The only one left without a partner was Boom Amy, who didn't mind; choosing instead to be the judge.
"So...what do we do now?" Electric Tails asked.
"Come up with a cool name for your baking team." Prime Sonic suggested.
"No." Boom Amy countered, "You pull out the recipe book, choose what dessert you want to bake, and wait for me to start the timer. Once it's started, you run to the shelves in the back to collect your ingredients. At least, I think that's how it works. Different baking shows have different ways of doing things."
Boom Knuckles raised his hand, "I have a question. What do you do after that?"
"You bake the dessert, obviously." First Amy answered for her alternate.
"So, dump everything in a big bowl, stir it, put it in the microwave, and then you're done?"
"No." Electric Knuckles told his partner. "The art of baking requires more finesse."
"Since when is baking an art?" First Knuckles asked.
"We're getting a little of point here." Short Tails interrupted.
"Cakes, cupcakes, pudding...wait what is this, a tortilla?" First Sonic asked incredulously, staring down at the book.
"I think that's a crepe, Sonic." First Tails rolled his eyes.
"Does a crepe even count as a dessert?" Prince Sonic asked.
Short Sonic shrugged.
Boom Tails spoke up. "If pancakes count as a dessert, so do crepes."
"Pancakes count as dessert!?" Boom Knuckles cried, putting his hands on his head in shock.
Everyone groaned in sync.
"They can." First Tails said. "It depends, though."
"On what?" Underground Knuckles asked.
"Before we get into the logistics of pancakes as dessert." Boom Amy interrupted. "Need I remind you that we have a contest that needs to get started."
Prime Sonic raised his hand. "Can we still come up with a cool name for our teams? I've got a good one: Shatter Hoppers!"
Prime Shadow raised an eyebrow. "Seriously?"
"Oh come on, Shadow. We hop across shatter spaces; it's the perfect name!"
"Or 'The Underground!'" Prince Sonic suggested.
"I've got a good name." Boom Knuckles said. "Knuckles!"
There was silence for a moment. "Is that it?" Electric Knuckles finally asked.
"Well, yeah! Knuckles is a strong name."
"I can not disagree with that statement," Electric Knuckles responded. "For it is true."
Boom Amy was fed up with all the distractions. "Are we doing this or not?!"
"I'd rather not." First Shadow groaned.
"Hmph." The other Shadows humphed in agreement.
"Well too bad!" Boom Amy shouted. "And if all of you don't have a recipe picked out in the next 5 minutes, I'm unleashing my hammer on you!"
"Our hammers!" The other Amys chimed in.
That got everybody going; tearing through the recipe book frantically like their lives depended on it. Which, they kinda did.
"We've got dibs on the cupcakes!" Prince Sonic called.
"We wanted the cupcakes!" Extreme and First Amy complained.
"Deal with it!" Underground Knuckles told them. "It's the only thing here that looks easy."
"We should make a fist sandwich." Boom Knuckles suggested to his partner.
"Um. Um. Um." Boom Sonic scanned all the options. "I can't pick! Tails, you choose."
"This is chaos." Short Amy commented, turning to her partner. "There's no way we'll act like that when we're older."
"I think it's cause they're teenagers." Short Knuckles replied. "We're still young, and haven't succumb to the madness yet. Do you want to do the pudding?"
"I thought baking was mostly cakes and stuff; does pudding even count?" Electric Sonic asked from the adjacent counter.
"Maybe we should call this a dessert contest instead." First Knuckles replied.
"We could just do cakes, and stylize them." The Short Amy suggested. "Best creation wins."
Everyone paused what they were doing to look at her in surprise. Why hadn't they thought of this before?!
"That would be easier." Boom Amy consented, mind made up. She raised her voice. "A few instructions before we start baking cakes..."
"Spare us the lecture, Amy!" Boom Sonic called. "A cake can't be that hard to make, just tell us when to start."
"Fine. 3..."
"Wait! He didn't mean now!" First Sonic protested.
"...2..."
"Oh crap." Extreme Sonic turned to the shelves of ingredients. "What do we need again, Tails?"
"...1...Begin!" Boom Amy pressed the button that started the countdown.
...
Time: 5:45
Boom Amy, as the host, decided to wait until the teams had baked the cakes and actually started working, before wandering around the room; asking about their creations.
She decided to confront her own Sonic and Tails first.
"Soo. Sonic, Tails; care to..."
"Boom Brothers." Sonic interrupted.
"What?"
"That's our team name." Boom Tails said proudly, as he carefully cut a hole in the circular piece of cake.
She rolled her eyes. "Alright then 'Boom Brothers,' care to tell me what you're constructing?"
"My beach house." Sonic sped back to the shelf and brought back some spaghetti noodles.
Amy nodded. "Okay, but what are the noodles for?"
"The roof." Sonic said simply.
...
Time: 5:30
First and Extreme Knuckles had the next counter over, so host Amy decided to visit them next.
"And what do we have here?" She asked, leaning in to look at their cake.
"Angel Island." First Knuckles responded, molding leaves out of green fondant and sticking them on more spaghetti noodles.
"It's the only thing we both now by heart." Extreme Knuckles added, sculpting an emerald out of the same fondant.
"Very nice." Amy commented. "I've never seen Angel Island, but your cake looks very pretty."
"Thanks." The echidnas jinxed.
"By the way, what's your team name?"
"Uh..." First Knuckles leaned down to look at the front of the counter. "The Guardians."
Amy looked down to, and sure enough: 'The Guardians' was spelled out in bright letters on a screen.
"Okay. Well, keep up the good work."
...
Time: 5:15
"Well everyone else makes these giants...whatevers. We've decided to make something smaller and more intricate." Prince Sonic explained. Then he cracked a smile, "You like that word? I heard Sonia use it once, and it sounded fancy."
"It's the underground bus and instruments." Knuckles explained.
"That's so cool!" Boom Amy complimented.
'The Underground' had taken bits of cake and molded them into drums, using spaghetti noodles and frosting to connect them all. Sonic was currently working on a little guitar, but it didn't look like he was making much progress. In fact, it looked more like a pile of mashed cake than an instrument.
"Keep working on it." She advised, moving on.
...
Time: 5:00
It didn't take a genius to know what Extreme and First Amy were creating. I mean; it was blue, spiky, and had green eyes.
"This is adorable." Boom Amy gushed. "It looks just like Sonic!"
"We're the ultimate Sonic Fangirls!" First and Extreme Amy squealed and high-fived.
"Hmm..." Boom Amy examined the hedgehog head. "You could use fondant to make his eyes."
"Great idea!" The Sonic Fangirls shouted, getting to work.
...
Time: 4:45
"Umm..." Host Amy blinked at the screen in front of Electric Sonic and Tails' counter. It read: Blue Justice and Foxboy.
"Do you like our team name?" Electric Sonic asked, with a wide smile. "And we're making a Bluemobile to go along with our hero names."
Indeed they were. The long, blue car was far from complete but it was by far the coolest creation Amy had seen yet.
"We're also planning on making a Foxcycle!" Tails added with glee. "I'm going to put a pair of tails on the back!"
"That...sounds really cool." Amy smiled. "But, why did you come up with superhero names?"
"It's a long story." Electric Sonic said shortly with a grin.
...
Time: 4:30
"Is it a bird?" Boom Amy guessed.
Short Sonic threw his arms out and started running around the counter.
"Sonic's right, it's not a bird it's a plane." Short Tails said. "It's the Tornado."
"Oh." Host Amy said sheepishly. "Sorry, I should've guessed that."
"Don't worry about it." Tails assured her. "I guess it does look kinda like a bird; without the wheels on it."
Short Sonic nodded, and started molding the wheels in a circular container.
"We're going to win this competition!" Short Tails said confidently. "We're 'Small but Mighty'"
Sonic pointed at the screen on the front to affirm this.
"Nice name." Amy approved.
...
Time: 4:15
The 'Shatter Hoppers' didn't appear to be working together. In fact, they had their backs to each other; working on two separate projects at once.
"Um, you're supposed to be working as a team, you two." Amy chided. "I now you don't get along, Sonic and Shadow; but I doubt you want to lose this contest either."
"You're right, we don't want to lose." Prime Sonic said.
"But I also don't want to work with him." Prime Shadow sneered. "Especially after he destroyed our world!"
"How many times do I have to say I'm sorry about that!" Sonic cried. "Anyway, we decided to just make separate parts of our creation on our own. That way, we don't have to really work together."
"Okay then." Amy said. "What are you making?"
"Well, we noticed everyone else was making something unique that they were familiar with, so we decided to do the same." Sonic smirked. "We're making the shatter-verse with the paradox prism in the center."
"Oh, is that what all the glitter is for." Host Amy commented.
...
Time: 4:00
Only six teams left, Amy noticed as she scanned the room. One team in particular caught her eye. They weren't working, choosing instead to glare at everyone else in the room. And they're team name...
Trying not to laugh, Boom Amy approached the two. "How are the 'Ultimate Emos' doing?" She asked with a smirk.
The two black hedgehogs gave her their murder glares.
"If you mention that horrible name one more time, I'll kill you." Boom Shadow said coldly.
"Apparently Sonics have a twisted sense of humor." Electric Shadow growled. "They messed with our screen."
"Hmm, but aren't you supposed to be decorating a cake?"
"What cake?" Electric Shadow asked simply.
That's when Amy noticed the burnt mess on the table. "Did you try to bake the cake, and fail?"
"If the Sonics had been on their own, they would have failed to." Boom Shadow replied. "They're pathetic without their two-tailed friends."
"So you're giving up?"
"I don't give up!" Boom Shadow shouted, standing up.
"The other two versions of us can compete in this stupid contest." Electric Shadow said.
...
Time: 3:45
"What does 'BBF' stand for?" Host Amy asked First Sonic and Tails.
"Best Brothers Forever!" The two jinxed with big smiles.
Amy smiled to, "Nice name."
The two shared grins.
"What are making?"
Tails launched into the explanation, "When we were thinking of ideas, we started thinking about our last adventure..."
"It was pretty cool." Sonic interjected. "We got attacked by a train badnik, after what was probably a really cool murder mystery party. Course, I was unconscious the entire time..."
"Sonic." Tails interrupted. "I don't think she wants to hear the entire story. But yeah, we're trying to make that train."
"Very ambitious." Amy smiled. "And how are you planning on making something as intricate as that?"
Sonic shrugged, "We're just making it up as we go along."
...
Time: 3:30
"Ignore the name on the screen." was the first thing Short Knuckles said when Boom Amy came over. "Our Sonic thought it would be funny to make our team name, 'Pretty and Punchy'"
From a few tables away, Short Sonic repressed soundless snickers.
Amy did to, but she was much better at it. "So, *cough* what have you, uh, decided to make?"
Short Amy looked up, "Metal Sonic! I got a really good look at him when he captured me, and Knuckles said he shouldn't be too hard to make. But I'm making Sonic to, and he'll be destroying Metal Sonic!" She beamed, proud of herself.
"It was the only way I could convince her to go with my idea." Short Knuckles explained.
"Well, it looks pretty cool so far." Amy complimented.
...
Time: 3:15
Next up was the last Sonic and Tails team, the 'Super Squad' which consisted of the Extreme Sonic and Tails.
Apparently they had been watching her make her rounds, because they already knew the drill.
"It's called the Blue Typhoon." Tails explained. "We used it on our last adventure, and Sonic said we needed something big and cool if we're going to win."
"It's very..." Amy flailed for a word she hadn't used already. She couldn't think of anything. "I'm gonna level with you, I can't think of anything original to say."
"I get it." Sonic assured her. "Just say it's very original, and move on. You've only got two more teams to go, and they're the two worst."
...
Time: 3:00
She was down to the two teams she really didn't want to check up on. 'The Ultimate Lifeforms' and 'Knuckles.' She went with 'Knuckles.'
It took an entire minute to get the knucklehead's attention, because they were so absorbed in their mashed up project.
"Guys? Guys?!" She yelled.
They finally looked up. "Yes?" Boom Knuckles asked, annoyed. "What are you bothering us for?"
"It's my job to come around and ask you all about your creations." Host Amy explained.
"What is there for us to explain?" Electric Knuckles asked. "Can you not see what we are making for yourself?"
It wasn't really obvious, what they were making. It looked like a pile of mashed of cake.
"What is it?" She asked.
"A fist sandwich!" Boom Knuckles said like it was obvious.
"A what?"
"It is a delicacy in my alternates world." Electric Knuckles said. "And I add to the beauty of it with grapes." So saying, he held up a bunch of grapes.
"Um, okay." Amy said hesitantly, moving away from the crazy pair.
...
Time: 2:45
Last pair, and then she could start her favorite part of the contest. One pair...
The pair she was least excited to see.
The Ultimate Lifeforms First and Extreme Shadow themselves.
"Hello, guys..."
"We don't need to explain anything to you." First Shadow said dismissively.
"Just move on. And let us work." Extreme Shadow added.
Boom Amy huffed. "Fine, then I guess it's time for the challenge."
"What challenge?" They asked, finally looking up at her.
She smirked and raised her voice. "Everyone listen up! For the next 2 hours you have to work on your creations blind-folded!"
There was an immediate uproar, as everyone voiced their disapproval.
"But we're practically finished!" Boom Tails complained. "If we put on blindfolds, we could accidently ruin our creations and have to fix it!"
"That's exactly why I decided on this little challenge." Boom Amy said with a sneaky smile. "Everyone use the towels at your counters as blindfolds, if you don't wear them, I'll disqualify you!"
"What!" Everyone quickly searched for the said towels, not wanting to be kicked out of the contest. Well...except The Ultimate Emos, who were already disqualified.
"Everyone blindfolded?" Host Amy asked. "Good, you may continue."
...
Time: 45 minutes
It was very amusing watching everyone struggle finishing their creations without seeing anything.
The Tails were trying to keep their partners from touching anything, after Prince Sonic nearly destroyed his creation.
The Amys were doing fairly well, even Short Amy who kept swatting Knuckles' hand away.
The Guardians didn't even bother trying to make any changes with their eyes covered, not wanting to wreck anything.
'Knuckles' just went about their business, doing a surprisingly good job considering they had no eyesight.
The Ultimate Lifeforms took up a similar strategy to the Guardians, barely touching their grey sphere. Looking at it, Amy wondered how they'd shaped their cake into a circle.
Finally, the 'Shatter Hoppers' were quarreling because Prime Sonic wanted to make some changes, but Prime Shadow refused to give him a chance to wreck everything.
Boom Amy looked up at the timer and had to do a double take. The two hours were already up!
"Alright guys, you may take the blindfolds off now!"
"Why?" Boom Knuckles asked, turning his head left then right to try and pinpoint her voice. "It's so much fun not knowing what you're doing!"
"Yeah right." Boom Sonic said sarcastically, throwing his towel on the ground and stomping on it.
"Oh no!" Prince Sonic exclaimed, seeing what he'd accidently done to their cake creation.
"We've got 45 minutes to fix this." Underground Knuckles assured him. "We just need to hurry."
"Oh please, Knuckles. Hurry is my middle name."
"I thought your middle name was The." Boom Knuckles said, turning his covered eyes to First Amy. "Or wait, was that the other guy?" He turned to Short Sonic, who looked behind him to see if Knuckles was talking to someone else.
Seeing no one, he turned back and gave a shrug.
As the teams frantically worked to finish their cake masterpieces, Boom Amy kept track of the time. 30 minutes. Now 15. Five. "One minute left!"
By that time, most teams were already finished and were waiting patiently behind their counters. Which wasn't necessarily a good thing, as all the Sonics were staring at the cakes with hunger in their eyes.
"5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" Amy shouted, "Step away from your cakes!"
Host Amy immediately dismissed all of the cakes that a Sonic had worked on, apparently they had a weakness for cake and had stolen a huge chunk of all their creations. The Tails, Underground Knuckles, and especially Boom Shadow were furious and had started chasing the blue speedsters around the room; much to everyone else's delight.
First and Extreme Knuckles had done a fairly good job, especially with the little master emerald. But it was rather simple, so Boom Amy moved on.
Short Knuckles had given up at some point, and Short Amy hadn't had enough time to finish; so the creation wasn't very descriptive.
First and Extreme Amy had been very descriptive, though. From the nose to the green eyes, and not a quill was out of place. It was AMAZING! And Boom Amy said so, telling them that they were sure to win.
The Ultimate Lifeforms had made something called 'The ARK' but to Amy it just looked like a grey sphere with eggman's face on the canon. It was decent in her opinion.
"Yeah!" Boom Knuckles cheered as she came over. "You saved the best for last. And by best I mean...Uh...best!"
Amy still couldn't make out the sandwich, all she could see were the grapes surrounding a mess of cake.
"Here, I'll show you." Boom Knuckles volunteered. He examined the cake for a minute, then shoved his hand all the way through and screamed.
Amy jumped back, "Uh, Knuckles? Why..."
"Do you not see the sandwich with the fist in it, now?" Electric Knuckles asked.
Well, there was a fist in it.
But there was no doubt in Host Amy's mind who the winner was, as she turned to the Sonic Fangirls to congratulate them, a voice tore through the walls.
As amusing as this was, this is not what I expected to happen in this room.
They all looked up at the ceiling.
"Ahhh! It's a ghost!" Boom Knuckles cried, trying to hide under the counter.
"There's no such thing as ghosts." All the Tails jinxed at the same time with identical exasperated expressions on their faces.
Indeed there aren't, my young foxes. No, I am the puppeteer in charge of this magical room. I needed someone to test it out, and since you face danger every day, I chose the Sonic crew to help me in my experiment! Course, I didn't expect the system to glitch and bring a bunch of your alternates here.
"So you're the one responsible for us being trapped here!" Extreme Knuckles raged.
"What about our worlds!" First Sonic added.
"I have a shatterverse to fix!" Prime Sonic exclaimed.
Calm down. Calm down. The voice chuckled. Did I forget to mention that well we're in here, time is paused out there? When I return you to your universes, it'll be like you never left. But enough of this scientific hooey, I've been sitting here for the past 7 hours watching you waste time, when you could be running through mazes or experimenting with physics or maybe the Sonics could race...
"Did you just say race?" The Sonics asked at the same time. "Count us in!"
Brilliant! Finally, I can watch something interesting.
"But what about our win?" First and Extreme Amy complained.
What could be better than watching your precious Sonic win against his alternates?
The matter was instantly settled, and the room was quickly transformed into a racetrack.
As the Sonics lined up, though...
"Don't think you can race without us, fakers." First Shadow smirked, crouching next to his rival.
"Join us anytime, edgies." First Sonic answered.
3...2...1...GO!
...
Sonic: Like I said, terrible. I can't write uninteresting chapters.
TeamSSSFan: The end was nice though.
Sonic: Yeah! Cause I finally got in my element! A race is way more interesting than a stupid bake off!
TeamSSSFan: So who's this mysterious puppeteer?
Sonic: That's a secret my good author. ;D You'll have to wait and see. You two readers, and bye!
