Note: Sorry guys I have been calling Yuji Kobari (Master) Harry instead. I will continue to call Master Harry since I already wrote several chappies.
Robin and Karasuma chatted a little on the way to Harry's.
"I was going to see if Zaizen would let you move in with me. Would you want to?" Karasuma asked.
"It's a kind and generous offer but me and Amon are starting to get along alright. I have grown comfortable with him helping me with my night terrors, I wouldn't want to freak you out in the middle of the night." Robin explained.
"Night terrors?" Karasuma confused,
"Um, yeah, I mean think for the most part I don't have an episode anymore, but I think it might be because I use sleeping pills that Amon suggested, he checked with my doctor, and he said that they could help. Amon must wake me up when I have them because the room gets pretty warm. They aren't really night terrors, they're of the attack I was in. I'm reliving the attack, trying in vain to save my guys." Robin explained.
"Robin…" Karasuma being interrupted,
"I'm fine really. The night of my birthday my guys came to me and told me their birthday gifts they would have given me. They told me I was in good hands and that was the only reason they kept haunting my dreams, and to show me that I did everything I could for them. They wanted me to have a partner that would help me and one who deserved me as a partner, and they said it was Amon.
They told me not to worry about them that they would have my back if and when I needed them the most. I think they are sending me a warning of some kind, I just need to be aware of my surroundings that's all, which I always am. They have left me alone since then, I guess in their own way they were trying to tell me and show me that they were proud to have me as a part of their family by making me relive the attack in my sleep.
I know I didn't leave my guys and I fought like hell for them, it will always stay with me because I will always think somehow, I could have done more to save them." Robin explained. Karasuma placed her hand over Robin's,
"I'm glad someone you cared about was here for your birthday. I feel awful that we forgot your birthday." Karasuma rubbing Robin's hand.
"You guys are already pretty nice to me, that is enough in my book." Robin shrugged, Karasuma pulled into Harry's and turned the car off.
"Its not enough Robin. Don't ever settle, you strive for the best. By the way, happy belated birthday." Karasuma smiling as she pointed to the window. Robin saw the rest of the team in the window waving for her to come in.
"Karasuma?" Robin confused,
"We threw you a surprise belated birthday party." Karasuma getting out. Robin got out and walked with Karasuma inside where Sakaki, Dojima, and Harry were wearing party hats. Robin saw a cake and gifts,
"You guys didn't have to do this." Robin stunned,
"Amon insisted, and yeah we needed to." Karasuma smiling and putting a hat on Robin as she put one on as well.
"I don't know if your partner is coming or not, but he does have a gift for you that he left. We will save it for last, just in case he shows." Karasuma smiling Robin was a little hurt after hearing he might now come, he was her partner.
"I got another gift for you. Its from you Godfather." Harry explained as he gave her a long thin looking box that was wrapped. Robin held the box, afraid to open it,
"Open it Robin!" they all shouted, Robin carefully took the tape off the box and found that it was the same wine that she and her team had one her 15th birthday. Robin was immediately in tears but laughed a little.
"Here is the card." Harry giving her the card, Amon had walked in and stayed quiet, Robin had heard his soft footsteps but didn't look, she opened the card and found Jason's sterling silver necklace. Robin laughed as her tears flowed freely, though her tears she could barely read the card.
"What does it say?" Dojima asked,
"It says, I know they are not the same family you had on your 15th birthday but I found a bottle of 2006 Barolo. I figured you could share it with your new family in case you needed to win them over. I was returned this necklace that was Jason's, I cleaned it up and figured you would take good care of it. P.s Yes, I know you got drunk with the boys on your 15th birthday.
Don't forget to drink one for each of them and they will forever be with you my dear child. Father Juliano." Robin stuttered out. She slowly took the necklace in her hand, she knew someone had cleaned the blood from it because it was in perfect condition, shining in her eyes, almost like the light at the end of a horrible tunnel of hell. Robin laid the card down and unhooked the priceless item and as her hands went around her neck to try to fasten the necklace, a pair of large hands took the necklace and clasped it around her neck.
When the hands finished their task they rested on her shoulders,
"I hope I'm not too late. I wouldn't miss this for the world." Amon bending to whisper in her ear. Robin turned around and locked eyes with him, she gave him a bright smile as she half sobbed, and half laughed. Amon crushed her to his body as everyone stared at him as if he had grown three head. He raised his head and glared at them, they quickly found something to busy themselves with, except for Karasuma. She gave him a smirk and nodded a few times, she liked his dark purple silk shirt, it went well with the black slacks and shiny black dress shoes.
~Yes little Robin, you have somehow managed to break some barriers around Amon's cold heart.~ Karasuma thought.
"I would like for you to meet my half-brother, Nagira." Amon introducing them,
"I am his better half. The famous little bird I have heard so much about. I didn't know what to get you, but I hope you like it." Nagira giving her a hug, she liked him instantly, she knew he was the funny one in the family and the laid back one. When they pulled away Nagira gave her a wrapped gift, he also noticed a glare on Amon's face, Nagira just smirked, Robin opened the gift, after lifting the lid Robin gasped,
"Oh wow, these are the best throwing stars. I can't believe you got me these. They are great." Robin hugging him again.
"No problem little bird." Nagira's arms engulfing her small frame,
"Harry, I wish to share this bottle with my new family. Could you pour all of us a glass?" Robin asked as she dried her face from crying.
"Of course." Harry taking the bottle and walking to the bar, Robin could hear Amon chastising Nagira, over what she didn't know, Sakaki handed Robin his gift to her. Robin smiled,
"You guys really didn't have to do this." Robin sitting down in a chair and opening it. They were Black Hawk throwing knives,
"Thank you, Sakaki, these are pretty cool!" Robin giving him a hug,
"I didn't know what to get you, so I asked Karasuma for ideas." Sakaki scratching the back of his head.
"I love them and I'm glad that you thought to get me anything. It really wasn't necessary." Robin explained.
"We wanted to Robin, you are family." Karasuma giving Robin her gift. Robin opened it, it was another set of throwing knives, but these were a Phoenix set.
"Now I am all set! Thanks Karasuma!" Robin hugging her. Karasuma nodded,
"Let Amon give you his, since I got you a lot." Dojima giggled. Robin locked eyes with him, Amon came over with two small box-like wrapped gifts, she swallowed hard, she really hoped it wasn't jewelry,
"I didn't really know what you liked besides guns, but I hope they are useful." Amon stated, Robin carefully unwrapped them and let out a barely audible sigh, though Amon had seen her chest deflate in a sigh.
"Thank you, Amon. Um, how do you operate this?" Robin confused as she held up her iPod and wireless earphones,
"I will help you with them later tonight." Amon explained, he saw Harry had the wine all poured and was starting to bring it over, so Amon quickly helped before Robin could see the pity in his eyes.
~A 16 year old who doesn't know how to operate an iPod, though I guess with her being a hunter and having to train all the time she wouldn't have use for anything like an iPod.~ Amon bringing two glasses over and giving one to Robin.
"Thank you, Amon." Robin sitting her glass down and hugging him for the gifts, when everyone else got their glass Amon raised his glass as everyone followed suit.
"Here is to new family and making new memories and always having old memories close by." Amon raising his glass,
"Cheers." Karasuma raising her glass, Robin gave a hint of a smile in his direction, knowing he was talking about her family she had lost,
"Salute." Robin raising her glass toward Amon since he decided to stand against the wall opposite of her, hoping she couldn't read the last of the pity in his eyes from where she sat. Dojima presented her ten wrapped huge boxes.
"Hm, I can only take a wild guess but its clothes and probably shoes." Robin smiling as she took a drink of her wine, just the smell alone had her remembering her guys. Amon watched her close her eyes as she swallowed her wine, he had been behind her as she had read the card aloud, he knew she was remembering memories of her guys.
"How could you possibly know that's what I got you?" Dojima asked, Robin raised a brow, everyone else were trying to keep from laughing, but Robin couldn't help but let out a little giggle, everyone followed suit.
"The first day I met you and went home and looked in my closet I kind of figured you helped pick my clothes out." Robin explained as she secretly took a whiff of her wine, only one other person caught her in the act.
"This is some really great wine." Sakaki commented, everyone agreed with him, it was why they were savoring their own glass with taking little sips from their glass. Amon glanced at Robin,
~She does have good taste in wine, but she would she is from Italy.~ Amon thought.
"How nervous should I be about opening these?" Robin asked,
"I helped her choose most of it." Karasuma explained,
"Which I don't understand why. I thought you looked cute in the skirt." Dojima explained.
"I have to admit it looked pretty hot on you Robin." Sakaki standing near Amon, Robin watched as Amon smacked the back of Sakaki's head,
"Don't talk about my partner that way." Amon whispered out in a low growl. Robin raised a brow,
~Is he jealous? And did he just call me his partner?~ Robin staring at Amon, he turned his head and locked eyes with her, he nodded slightly to her, to let her know that she had heard him correctly. Robin gave him a hint of a smile and a slight nod to thank him for finally seeing her as his partner and not a little kid.
"Come on Robin, open them." Dojima shouted at her,
"Alright, I'm coming, though it might be best to get in the floor to open them." Robin explained, she took her wine and went and sat down next to the gifts and started opening them. She got mostly sensible clothes until it came to the pajamas, Robin held up a spaghetti strap shirt with matching panties with kittens all over them.
"Um, what is this?" Robin confused,
"It's a pajama set for in the summertime, I thought it was cute!" Dojima explained. There were a couple of pajama sets like that and nice fuzzy pajama pant sets for winter, everything was bright colors and even a couple of more dresses for summertime.
"Thank you, Karasuma, for helping her pick out those clothes." Robin whispered, but Dojima still heard her,
"Hey, you are a pretty young lady, you should let me do you up in makeup sometime." Dojima explained.
"I will consider it, maybe next week since I am still sidelined for two more weeks." Robin shrugged, Amon slapped himself,
~Does she even know what she is getting herself into?~ Amon thought, Robin saw Amon's reaction, he caught her looking at him, he put his face in his hand and shook his head.
~Looks like I just dug my own personal hell hole. Can it really be that bad?~ Robin thought as she looked at some of the pajama sets Dojima got her.
"There's more, I got you some pillows, Karasuma said they were the best, and a cuddy teddy bear to sleep with so you won't be so lonely." Dojima holding it up.
"Yeah, Amon, I guess you can finally have your pillow back." Robin smirked,
"Hn." Amon more interested in the teddy bear.
~Would Robin even know what a teddy bear was for? It's like Dojima is trying to turn my partner into her own personal living doll.~ Amon thought as he let out a small snort. Everyone looked at him, Robin gave him a glare,
~He is having fun at my expense. It's okay, I'm sure he will get his sooner than later.~ Robin thought.
"Thank you Dojima, its cute. Thank you so much for the gifts, though you didn't need to give me so much." Robin explained as she hugged Dojima.
"I really wanted for you to have nice clothes and personal items since…" Dojima being interrupted by karasuma's hand over her mouth.
"Its not a problem for her, her father is a rich guy. Go ahead and finish opening your gifts." Karasuma explained,
"Um, alright." Robin trying to seem clueless about what Dojima was going to say, she meant well, she did but Robin never wanted to be a charity case where everyone would bend backs for her. Robin finished unwrapping her gifts, which she got sensible shoes and shoes for her dresses and shorts and sports bras for workouts. She grabbed her wine glass which was less than a half glass and sat it on the table.
"Are you ready to eat cake now?" Sakaki asked,
"Sure." Robin shrugged.
"Wait, what about Harry's gift?" Dojima asked,
"I gave Ms. Sena's gift to her on her birthday." Harry explained,
"What did you get her?" Dojima asked.
"He gave me my 'hair ornaments' as Amon likes to call them." Robin poking fun of Amon, she pointed to the chopsticks she was wearing in her hair,
"Huh?" Dojima confused,
"They are chopsticks." Amon growled at Robin poking fun at him,
"They aren't just chopsticks, they can be activated as throwing knives, he also got me an Ivory Parcelona French Coquille thing to put my hair in while on hunts, it also turns into a weapon, they are both pretty cool." Robin explained.
"I thought that they might come in handy on hunts." Harry shrugged. Robin finished her wine and ate some cake and chips and dip.
"Hey Harry, put some party music on." Sakaki ordered,
"Of course." Harry having a remote in his hand and hitting a button. The upbeat music was turned up to a sensible volume. Robin and everyone but Harry and Amon started to dance, even Nagira joined in, Amon watched as his goofy half brother was making Robin laugh,
"It was a good idea to bring him, Robin needed to smile and laugh." Amon thought aloud.
"Hm, yes, I think she has been awfully depressed since she has been stuck sitting at home and at the office. It will be good for her when she finally gets to go back out on hunts." Harry explained, Amon nodded,
"I hope she can handle hunting again with the attack she went through, its bound to shell shock her on her first hunt back in the field." Amon whispered,
"Hm, Robin will prove herself to you. You just watch her back the first couple hunts." Harry explained. Amon nodded, he watched as Robin sat out on a slow dance since everyone had a partner but her and Nagira, he had walked over to Amon,
"Aren't you going to ask your girl to dance?" Nagira asked with his back turned in Robin's direction.
"She is not my girl, she is my partner, and no I do not dance." Amon growled out,
"Fine, I can't let her sit there all depressed I'll ask her for a dance then." Nagira walking off, Amon watched Nagira ask Robin for a dance, she took his hand without giving a second thought. Harry watched Amon growl low, Harry knew Amon had felt something for the young bird and now he was jealous of Nagira holding her in his arms. Harry laughed a little,
"Perhaps you do not care for your brother having her so close?" Harry asked.
"That is none of your business Harry." Amon huffed, he laughed a little more, and walked off, it was a fun show to watch. Amon cut his eyes over to Robin and his brother,
~Everyone would know I harbor something for her if I had danced with her.~ Amon explained, he walked over and got a plate of cake and sat down at the bar with it. Soon the dance ended, and Robin walked up to the bar,
"Hey, are you ready to head back?" Robin asked.
"There is somewhere I want to take you first. Let's get this stuff in the car and I will take you." Amon getting up and dumping his empty plate in the trash, Robin watched him grab a load of gifts and start for the car.
"You just have to be patient with him Robin, he is new to feelings." Harry explained as he gave her a kind smile,
"Oh, I know…wait…huh?" Robin staring at Harry.
"Anyone can see it in his eyes and body language if they know what to look for, I don't think he is ready to admit it even to himself yet, just be patient." Harry nodded. Robin had no idea what he was talking about but nodded and went to help Amon carry some gifts out to the car.
"Hey, where are you going Robin?" Sakaki asked,
"Amon is taking me somewhere." Robin shrugged, Sakaki looked at his watch,
"I guess it is getting a little late." Sakaki grabbing some of her gifts and helping them carry them to the car, Robin grabbed her gifts from Amon and stuck them in her coat pocket. Robin gave everyone a hug and thanks for the party and gifts and she and Amon left.
