Hoshino Aquamarine was forced to hold all of his questions in for the moment when one small girl, Arima Kana and one much bigger girl, the mother Arima Miura arrived at the playground of which they had agreed to meet.

Aqua was so close to ditching social norms and just demanding answers from the small child who was just headpatting Ai and then embracing her, but the worried tone of said small child's actual mother who thought she'd lost him forced his mouth shut.

He wasn't that rude, his mother taught him better. Well, Ai didn't quite teach him that, but he wasn't gonna let bad behavior reflect poorly on his mother's parenting skills. Even if they think it would actually be Miyako-san's parenting skills.

Speaking of parenting skills (or perhaps another adult needing a boost in it), it looked to his perspective like Arima Mana was outmaneuvering his own mother like no one's business.

The mother scooped her son up, almost in tears, blubbering out that she was so worried that he was lost or kidnapped and that he shouldn't do that. Mana grinned sheepishly as he soothed his mother.

From Aqua's perspective, personally, he wouldn't take that. The kid's a 3 year old, he could get lost or kidnapped! Not to mention he's even a child actor, it might be even worse for him in a multitude of ways. He's not even reincarnated like Ruby or he was… probably. A reincarnated person wouldn't be so childish, naive, and lacking social sensibilities to just run at people who were technically strangers to them, would they? Aqua knew that Ai had only met Arima Mana on that movie set, there was no way they could've met earlier, as busy she was with all her idol work and being a single mother to twins.

A part of Aqua just couldn't believe a reincarnated person could be that open and trusting, unless they were a literal child in their past life and, well, there wasn't much difference between that and a normal child, was there?

The only way a reincarnated person could be that open and trusting while keeping a super high level of instinct to do what Mana just did was either by some magical abilities of empathy or perhaps-

Aqua's thoughts were interrupted by the scene in front of him. "Sorry, mom." the 3 year old said while scratching his head. "It's just… I saw Ai-nee and my legs just moved on their own, you know?" He made an excuse to his mother.

He… what? Aqua couldn't believe what he was hearing. What is this, My Hero Academia? He saw someone in trouble and his legs just started moving forward? Was Ai in trouble? Would the slime villains come out of the ground, tentacles grasping everywhere, take his mother away helplessly in an attempt to turn the series super dark and edgy where Aqua would be forced to hunt down her killer, only to be saved by the willpower of the hero, Arima Mana, and the actual power of the hero, All Might-y police?

The worst part was that even the mother was starting to capitulate to the kid. And Aqua couldn't even blame her. Even he was starting to just accept the cheekiness of this brat. After all, who could resist Ai? Nobody could resist Ai, reincarnated 3 year old or not.

As Aqua judged Arima mother and son combo both, what took him out of his thoughts was the pouting four year old who came with them. "Mana…" the little girl puffed up. "As your older sister, I'm telling you, don't worry your mom and older sister like that! It's mean!".

Aqua recognized the telltale signs of a kid acting like an adult. Of course he knew, he was twins with Ruby, after all.

As Mana started soothing his older sister, too, Aqua couldn't help but be amused. The 3 year old brother who had an excuse and counter to everything his mother said seemed to have nothing on his older sister, who scolded him in pretty much the same way the mother did, but without any compromising, seemingly not caring at all for any of the situations and explanations Mana had to offer.

He couldn't help but admire the little girl and feel a sense of comradery with her as fellow elder siblings who harbored and had to deal with cheeky little siblings.

Even if he still felt a little miffed at the little girl's insulting of Ai. But maybe she was just stressed because of that Mana kid.

The family drama had to end eventually, and the Arima siblings' mother embraced her children once more and finally stood to address and apologize to Miyako and Ai who were there, waiting patiently.

Speaking of Ai, what was with Ai's reaction? Aqua wondered to himself, preparing a mental list of questions for another time.

For not the last time, he wished he had a phone of his own to be able to write notes whenever he wanted, that was how much he didn't get what was happening. Aqua's head was overloading and the playdate literally hasn't even started yet.

Arima Kana is a genius child actor who can cry in 10 seconds flat.

That's what everyone said, and everything that happened to her matched exactly what she thought a genius child actor would get to happen.

Well, she didn't exactly think she'd be beaten by another child actor (an aspiring genius, she thought, because there's no way a genius would be beaten unless it was by another genius), but she knew she definitely was a genius, and she'd prove it one day by defeating that kid! Kana vowed this to herself.

She had to work very hard to act well. She auditioned and got a lot of roles. Everyone praised her for her genius acting.

The best part of being a genius child actor, in her own genius opinion, was how happy mama and papa were to see her, every time she was on screen.

Arima Kana could remember her little brother's first time watching her on screen like it was yesterday. His eyes went wide, and he had the biggest smile of awe and shock on his face.

It was everything she loved about being an actor, and it was the moment she decided she loved acting. That she wanted to become an actor. Because she wanted to keep bringing those smiles to her mama, to her papa, and to her precious little brother.

When her brother said, "I want to be just like Kana-nee!" and announced to the family at the dinner table his intentions to become an actor, she couldn't help but melt into her seat in happiness.

She just felt so proud. She's a genius actor and a genius older sister. She's a super amazing genius.

When she said all of this to her mama, her mama patted her on the head and told her "I'm so proud of you, my little genius actor Kana". And then Mana jumped in and pulled everyone into a hug.

That's right. Arima Kana nodded to herself. She was a genius actor and a genius older sister. That's why it is her responsibility to scold Kana so that he won't worry her and mama.

And it is also her responsibility to be a good example to Mana, she knew that much. Which is why as soon as that idol, Ai-nee as Mana called her (which annoyed her more than a little) waved goodbye to everyone after a few words, and her mom backed off, watching from afar on a somewhat distant bench, she gathered the three other kids on the playdate, whispering to her brother to pay attention and that she'd explain later.

With everyone looking on her curiously, wondering what she had to say, Kana felt an instinctive shiver of stage fright, but with the practiced ease of a genius child actor, she pushed it aside.

She bowed down.

"I'm sorry for saying mean things about you and Ai-san back then." she apologized as sincerely as she could, bowing just like she'd seen the actors do in other roles she'd had.

Honestly, Kana still stood by what she thought that day. She still felt that it was wrong that they just barged in into the script and into the movie. But after seeing the acting of the child actor Aqua and after seeing the acting of the idol, Ai, the genius actor in her felt that she had to become even better.

As she peeked at their reactions to see what they thought, her first thought was that she felt like the female twin liked her the least, even though she wasn't the one directly insulted. Maybe she was one of those brocons she heard the other actors talking about?

Although the other actors also called her a brocon, but she couldn't see the issue because a brocon just means a sister who loves her brother very much.

The male twin seemed the nicer of the pair though, and he responded to her quickly after his initial shock "Thank you for the apology, I appreciate it." he said, smiling, and she couldn't help but smile back shyly. And a bit happily, because she just learned the word 'appreciate' last month with her brother and she couldn't help but feel like she passed a secret test.

The one whose reaction she was most worried about was her little brother, however. He was her precious little brother who said he wanted to be like her. She hoped she didn't disappoint him enough for him to hate her.

Her performance in the last movie wasn't the best, but she promised she would do better. Now, as a good girl and a good older sister, she wanted to be good, too. At least, she wanted to be the best nee-chan for her brother, no matter how many of those girls that seemed to join in and compete with her for that were.

Kana couldn't help but feel a little jealous of the idol that Mana gave the -nee honorific too. Wasn't he much too loose with labeling girls as older sister? She pouted.

All of a sudden, Mana's arms were around her, just like they were around that idol, too. She felt Mana whisper into her ears, his voice making her beam in the process. "Nee-chan, you're amazing." he whispered, much to Mana's glee and delight.

After a few more seconds of hugging, Mana had somehow grabbed the other two and dragged them into the group hug, just like he did with that idol.

Kana couldn't help but wonder where her brother was going with this. She knew for sure that her brother was a genius too, and she knew her brother always liked his little tricks.

All of a sudden, Mana let out a laugh, poking the male twin, Aqua, on the cheek, and running off. "Tag, you're it!"

Longer chapter this time! We finally hear from Kana and get a little insight on her perspective on the Arima family. I just want to remind people that our narrators aren't the most reliable, ehe :))

Please don't let this be a lie. We're gonna see more oshi no ko fics :))
