Meeting the King and twins
Jade meets her older siblings and the King for the very first time and they meet her daughter.
Firo and Aydia continued to stare at the woman in front of them claiming to be the king's daughter. She certainly looked like the king with her silver hair and bright green eyes. "What's your name?" Firo asked the woman. "My name is Jade." the woman answered, looking between him, his sister and Galv, whom she narrowed her eyes at slightly.
Aydia looked at Jade, then her brother. "How can we know that you are our so called sister? What proof do you have?" the Princess asked. Jade merely raised an eyebrow at them. Seriously? She lifted her arms which she had just lowered and threw them out to her sides, a blast of ice magic flew from her open palms and impacted with the ground, a sheet of ice spreading across the ground like a river and causing all three of the winged people to slid and fall flat on their asses! She folded her arms over her chest as they looked at the ice and regarded her with shocked looks. "Do you need more proof?" she asked sarcastically.
Firo looked at her with shock before he looked back at the ice, a flame burst forth in his palm and he placed his other hand over the fire, the flame now on both of his hands and he lowered his flaming hands to the ice, watching as it melted under the heat of his fire. Jade's eyes widened in shock. Fire was not her friend and to see the Prince with flames made her feel a little uneasy. "Elemental magic, like me." Firo told his sister, extinguishing the flames in his hands and standing up, helping his sister and Galv to their feet, trying not to slip on the cold surface. Jade's hands had a light blue mist surrounding them and she dispersed the ice, returning the courtyard back to how it used to be.
Firo slowly approached Jade, he noticed by her body language that she was wary of them. "I won't hurt you." he assured her gently before reaching out one of his hands towards her. She eyed his hand before slowly extending her own, she could feel the heat coming from him and wondered if she would get burned, but placed her hand in his anyway, taking a leap of faith. Firo felt the overwhelming cold that radiated from her and he had no doubt that she could feel the heat coming from him. Ice and fire, total opposites, both very dangerous elements. "Your name is due to your fire powers, isn't it?" Jade asked. Firo nodded with a gentle smile.
Aydia watched the interaction between her brother and Jade, she finally realized that this woman was not a threat to her or her brother and she stepped up to her brother's side, the Prince looked at her and smiled. She lifted up her hand and a white glow surrounded her hand. "Light magic." Jade murmured softly, looking at the purple haired Princess.
She had read about it in books, but never seen it in person. "Is your mother...?" Aydia began to ask, but Jade quickly answered the question. "Princess Celestia, ruler of the day, yes." she confirmed and both twins were stunned, this woman really was their long lost younger sister! Her powerful ice magic, her resemblance to their father with her hair and eye colour, same mother!
Tears welled up in Aydia's magenta eyes and then she was pulling Jade into her arms for a tight hug as Firo did the same, the twins bringing their younger sister into a tight hug and for the very first time, all three siblings were together. Firo and Aydia shed tears of joy as Galv watched his two best friends hug their new-found sister and he couldn't help but smile, happy they had found each other!
Then two guards ran out of the castle. "Princess Aydia, Prince Firo?" the twins let go of Jade and turned around. "Captain, the King wishes to see you three in the throne room." then the guards noticed the wingless woman standing slightly behind the Prince and Princess and raised their spears. Firo and Aydia took up a defensive position in front of Jade. No one noticed Jade's green eyes become slits as her raptor side grew protective. "At ease, men. She is Prince Firo and Princess Aydia's sister, you will treat her with respect." Galv told his men, who saluted him. "Sir, yes sir!"
Jade blinked and her eyes became normal again. Firo and Aydia each took hold of her hands. "Come on, let's go meet father." the purple haired Princess said gently, leading Jade into the castle with Firo as the three guards took up positions behind the royals. As the small group walked down the halls, Jade looked up and saw many portraits depicting the King and she saw how much she resembled him with her hair and eye colour. She was brought out of her thoughts by Firo and Aydia leading her to a pair of double doors with carvings on them. The doors were pushed open by the two guards whom had gone to fetch them and the trio stepped inside. Jade gasped softly, the room was large and spacious much like the throne room at Canterlot, with black pillars lining the walkway that led up to a black throne carved from marble, there was a tapestry hanging behind the throne with what Jade could guess had to be the royal banner or seal of the kingdom, two swords crossed together to make an X with a pair of large bat-like wings like the ones that her brother and sister had spread wide.
Then she noticed the figure standing with his back to them at the foot of the throne, with black folded wings and wearing medieval like clothing. "I am disappointed with you two." the man began, turning around to face his twins, he opened his mouth to continue lecturing them, but became shocked upon seeing the woman standing between his son and daughter. His eyes widened upon seeing Jade, it was like looking at a mirror image of himself as a female. She had the same silver hair as him and the same bright green eyes. Volaris couldn't help but stare at his female look-alike. He took a step towards her. "Father, we are sorry for leaving the meeting, but we found out something truly wonderful. This is Jade and she is your long lost daughter."
He was in shock, he had another daughter he never knew about! He had no idea that Celestia had gotten pregnant the last time they were together before the attack on the castle and being sent away with the twins. He took another few steps towards her. Jade eyed him, feeling shy about meeting her father for the very first time in her whole life! "Hello, your majesty." she said, bowing her head. She didn't feel comfortable calling him 'dad' yet. Volaris smiled softly at her. "Hello, Jade. It's an honor to finally meet you. May I give you a hug?" he asked, not wanting her to become uncomfortable.
She slowly nodded her head and stepped forward away from Firo and Aydia, Volaris reached out his arms and gently enclosed them around his youngest daughter, hugging her to him tightly, one of his wings wrapping around her. She noticed that he had his wing around, much like how her mother would do. "And please, no 'your majesty'. If you don't feel comfortable calling me father or dad yet, that is alright. You can call me Sire until you feel comfortable. How does that sound?"
Jade thought it over and agreed. She had not had a father in her life before and to suddenly start referring to Volaris as her father was a bit sudden for the Snow Queen. So she settled on calling him Sire until she was ready. Gently pulling back a little, Volaris saw the two scars on the left side of her face and reached out a hand, he saw her flinch and dropped his hand. "My apologies, I did not mean to upset you."
She lightly shook her head. "No, it's fine, Sire. It's not you, I just don't like people I don't know very well touching my face. I have a complicated past."
Volaris eyed her with sympathy in his green eyes. "I understand." he released her from the hug and looked at Galv. "Where did you find her, Galv?"
"In the trees in the courtyard, your majesty, there was also another female and male aura with her before they disappeared from sight." the guard answered and Jade nearly forgot about Shadow and Riley! "Shit!" she cured, drawing confused looks from her siblings and newly found father. They had obviously never heard that word or any other curse word since none of them knew about Earth like she did.
"Sorry, but I need to go get them."
"Get who?" Firo asked in confusion.
"My brother and daughter."
If they weren't so shocked by her curse word, they certainly were shocked when they heard that she had a brother and daughter! "You have a daughter?" Aydia asked, magenta eyes wide.
Jade nodded. "I need to go get her." she turned and started to run out of the throne room, Firo, Aydia and Volaris were quick to follow at her heels until they arrived outside the castle. Jade pressed two fingers to her lips and gave a shrill whistle. She removed them and waited. It wasn't long before a roar was heard and then from out of the trees burst Shadow, with Riley still on his back and safe. Riley's blue eyes widened upon seeing her mother and she slipped from her uncle's saddle and onto the ground. "Mum, your okay." Jade grinned and ran towards her child, arms open. She fell to her knees as Riley threw herself into her arms, hugging her tightly. Jade exhaled a relieved breath as Shadow nuzzled her back, curling himself around the two and cooing softly in greeting.
"I was so worried, mum." Riley said, Jade kissed her cheek. "I'm alright, Snowflake. I'm okay." she assured her child that she was safe and well. Riley clung to her mother, when she had been told to leave with Shadow, she had been so scared that her mother might get hurt or worse, but she was just relieved that her mother was alright and not hurt in any way.
Shadow nuzzled the two before his green eyes found three people with large bat-like wings folded at their backs watching his sister and niece, the Night Fury snarled softly, curling himself more protectively around the two humans. Jade and Riley let go of each other and faced the Night Fury. Jade reached out a hand to his head, patting the black scales. "It's alright, buddy. That's my father and older siblings, Firo and Aydia." she said. Riley hid behind her mother, her shyness coming through. Even though she was now 11, she was still sky around new people she didn't know. Jade smiled softly. "Hey, Snowflake, it alright. That's your new aunt, uncle and grandfather."
Riley peeked out from behind her mother to look at the three people standing a few feet away from her and her mother. Jade slowly got to her feet, pulling Riley up with her and the young preteen hid shyly behind her, blue eyes eying the people. Jade gently stroked her brown hair. "Firo, Aydia, Sire, this is Riley, my daughter and Shadow here is my Night Fury brother." she introduced her daughter and brother to her older siblings and father.
Volaris was the one to step forward. "Hello Riley. It's nice to meet you, young one." he said gently, kneeling down so he didn't frighten the poor girl. Riley looked up at Jade, who smiled. "It's alright." she gently pushed Riley forward and the girl made her way over to the King. "Hi." she greeted shyly, trying to hide behind her brown hair. Volaris chuckled softly. "There's no need to be afraid, little one. I won't hurt you and neither will Firo and Aydia." he assured the shy girl.
Firo and Aydia watched as Riley came closer to their father before the young girl was pulled into a gentle hug by the King. Jade smiled warmly, stroking Shadow's head. "You found your family at long last, sister. I'm so happy for you." Shadow said and Jade rested her head against his. "Thanks, buddy."
Volaris broke the hug to look at Riley and he smiled once more. "Would you like you meet your aunt and uncle?" Riley looked back at Jade, who nodded for her to go ahead and the girl gave a slight nod. Volaris gently took hold of her hand and led her to his twins, who smiled gently at the girl. "Hello Riley, I'm Aydia and this is my brother Firo." Aydia said, kneeling down beside Volaris as Firo did the same, the twins speaking softly to Riley as to not scare her.
Jade watched her daughter interact with her siblings and father, smiling. She was so proud of Riley for getting to know her newly reunited family members. She just hoped they didn't turn her or Riley away when she revealed her raptor side to them. Shadow nuzzled her hands, purring as Riley was hugged by Firo and Aydia gently before she hurried back to Jade and Shadow. "You did so well, Snowflake. Well done." Riley smiled at the praise and Jade kissed her forehead gently.
Shadow stepped away from Jade and Riley, walking to the King and twins, who watched him. "He just wants to get to know you, just hold out your hands for him to sniff. If he likes you, he'll nuzzle your hands." she instructed and all three did so, holding out a hand for the Night Fury to sniff. Shadow sniffed each hand offered to him and deeming them safe, he nuzzled their hands, cooing softly. "You can pat him if you like." Jade said and both twins started to pat and stroke the black dragon's head as Volaris patted his nose.
"Where did you find him?" Volaris asked curiously. Jade sighed, she had a long story to tell them. "It's a bit of a long story."
"Well, let's get you and Riley settled in a room for the night. I'll cancel my meetings for today." Volaris said. "But won't your subjects need you?" Jade questioned, a little worried he was not going to see to any issues his subjects might have.
"Knowing more about you, Riley and Shadow is more important." Volaris stated firmly and led the way back inside the castle with the twins, Jade, Riley and Shadow following him. As they walked, they came across a man with grey hair and blue eyes with dark grey wings folded against his back. He was another of the council-men named Aaron. "Your majesty, is everything alright?" he asked upon seeing the King walking down the hall with a purpose.
"Aaron, please cancel my meetings for the rest of the day." Volaris requested. Aaron's blue eyes widened in shock. "May I ask why, Sire?"
"I have recently found out that I have another daughter and granddaughter to know more. Please do not interrupt us." the King said and walked down the hall with the twins and then he saw a woman with the same silver hair and green eyes as his king holding a young child close with a black dragon walking beside them. The man narrowed his blue eyes at the woman, who merely glared daggers at him and the black dragon hissed threateningly, moving closer to the woman and child. Aaron watched them walk past before he turned to go cancel the king's meetings, thinking how he would overthrow the King in the coming weeks.
Jade felt her whole body tense up when she locked eyes with that blue-eyed man and her instincts kept telling her to be on guard around him. She got a bad vibe from him. "Who was that?" she asked, tightening her arm around Riley ever so slightly as they walked. "That was Aaron, one of father's council-men. He is the leader of the council here at Shadow-Hall." Aydia explained to her, looking back at Jade and noting how tense she was. "Are you okay?" her question cause Volaris and Firo both to stop and face her.
"I have a bad feeling about him, I don't like it." she told them. Volaris stared at her.
"I assure you, Aaron is one of my most trusted advisors, Jade. You just don't know him yet, that's all." he tried to brush off her bad vibes, but she just looked over her shoulder at where the man had been before she looked back again and they continued onwards, but the bad feeling never left the Snow Queen and her instincts were never wrong.
They soon arrived at the doors of a bedroom and Volaris pushed the doors open, stepping inside. The room was huge, much the same size as the rooms in Canterlot, there was a large queen sized bed sitting in the middle of the room with two bedside tables on either side of the bed along with a wardrobe to the left of the room. And on the right was another door that led to a bathroom. "I hope this room is spacious enough for you and Riley." Volaris said and Jade smiled, deciding to push the bad vibes to the back of her mind for now. "It's perfect!" she said as Riley ran over to the bed and jumped onto it, laughing at how she bounced on the mattress.
Firo and Aydia smiled at Riley before Volaris headed to the door and pushed it open, seeing a brown haired maid walking past. "Rania?" he called and the young brown haired, blue eyed and brown coloured wings female stopped and bowed. "Yes, your majesty?"
"Could you please go and get some food and drinks for us please, my dear?" Volaris requested gently. The maid bowed once again. "Of course, Sire." she headed off down the hall towards the kitchen to get what he'd requested. Volaris shut the door and walked back over to the bed as Jade sat down on the bed beside Riley as Shadow laid down on the marble flooring, watching his sister and niece fondly.
"So, what do you want to know?" Jade asked, cuddling Riley to her as the 11-year-old smiled at her. "Everything." Firo said with a smile. Jade looked down. "I'll warn you all now, it's not the best story."
Volaris sat down on the bed beside her and gently rested a hand on her shoulder, she looked up at him. "If you don't feel comfortable telling us, we won't pressure you." Jade shook her head. "No, you all need to know my life at some point."
There was a knock at the door and Firo went to answer it. Rania and another maid stood outside the door, both holding trays containing food and wine for everyone. "Thank you, Rania, Beth." he thanked the two maids as Aydia came over to help bring a tray in and they shut the doors. Jade smelt wine and chicken. Her stomach growled hungrily as the twins set the trays down on the bedside tables. "Chicken sandwiches and a goblet of wine, water for Riley." Firo said as he and his sister handed out the sandwiches and goblets of wine to Volaris and the water to Riley, who thanked them for the food and water. Firo held out a goblet of wine to Jade, who shook her head. "I don't drink wine. I drink coffee."
Her brother stared at her in confusion, clearly he had never heard of coffee before. Jade rolled her eyes as him before she let go of Riley and slid off the bed, walking over to Shadow and rummaging around in her saddlebags, she always kept a small bag of coffee grounds with her at all times and was glad she did in this instance. She pulled out the small bag of coffee grounds, along with her portable coffee maker she bought while on Earth and a small jug of milk that was enchanted to never go off. She grabbed a goblet of water and set it down beside her, opening the top of the canister and poured the water into it, putting the lid back on and pressing the green button, it switched on and the water began to boil. Her father, brother and sister watched her intently. Jade wiped out the goblet of the water and got it ready. She grabbed a small spoon from the tray and put two spoonful's of coffee grounds into the goblet, she also added some of the milk and gave it a stir, blending the coffee grounds and milk together. The water finished boiling and she poured it into the goblet, stirring constantly until it reached the top. The sweet aroma of coffee filled the room and Riley inhaled the scent with a smile.
Jade picked up the goblet, blowing on the steam to cool the drink and took a sip, sighing happily as the wake up beverage slid down her throat, helping her body get energy. "That smells so strange." Aydia commented, causing Jade and Riley to laugh. "Want a sip? Careful, its hot." she warned her sister, who gently took hold of the goblet and sniffed the drink, it smelled slightly sweet, but strongly of those coffee grounds Jade had used. Aydia took a small sip and her eyes bulged out of her head, she gagged on the drink and coughed harshly. "Dear me, that is foul!" she handed the drink back to a hysterical laughing Jade who sipped more on the drink.
"Your just not used to it like I am." Jade said as Firo and Volaris calmed down from laughing at Aydia's face and look of disgust. Aydia grabbed her goblet of wine and took a big sip to get rid of the awful taste in her mouth. She swished the wine around in her mouth before swallowing.
"Why don't you drink wine?" Firo asked curiously, wanting to start a conversation before Jade told them about her life. Almost everyone here drank wine. Jade grimaced in disgust. "I'm not someone that drinks wine or any other alcoholic beverage."
"A what?" Aydia asked, confused. Jade mentally sighed, there was a lot she needed to teach them about modern day drinks and everything. "Alcohol is a drink that, if you consume too much, you become drunk and have a hangover the next morning. Alcohol comes in different brands as well as wine. I don't drink either. I drink water or coffee, or sometimes soft drink if I feel like it."
Her siblings and father stared at her for a few minutes before they slowly nodded, still not sure what she meant. "There is a lot I need to teach you three about modern drinks and appliances." she grabbed a chicken sandwich from the tray and bit into it, sipping her coffee as Riley snuggled up to her, sipping the water. Jade smiled, she had finally found her long lost family members and couldn't be happier.
Jade meets her older brother and sister and her father for the first time. She reveals her ice magic and introduced them to Riley and Shadow before they all go to a spare room and Jade introduces them to coffee. I hope you all enjoy this chapter.
