Warframe You Can NOT Absolve
ESKK: Damn been on a role with chapter updates. This one goes out to all my faithful readers and reviewers. Now lets get this chapter started.
(Start Earth Location Unknown)
The robed man looked down at his newly acquired device that bore a striking resemblance to the Grineer Queen's Scepter. Flexing the gauntlet, he smirked at the red glow emanating from the palm of his hand. He then clenched it before walking around to reveal a clearing of sorts where a familiar Dax was on the ground struggling.
Varzia Dax had come here when she felt a pull she had not felt since Maroo found her. So needless to say, she had to investigate it hoping it was just a mistake. It was not when she found herself forced to her knees but a man in rags and a glowing red gauntlet. Varzia glared at the man as she tried to fight his control, but she could not resist him.
"Varzia Dax you and I have much to discuss." The man said as he glared at Varzia who was unable to retaliate and fight back against him.
"We have nothing to speak of!" she snapped at him wanting to make him her.
"You do not dictate that I do." He said and thus released Kuva energy upon her causing the former Dax to cry out in pain. "Now then I want to know all that you know of the Tenno at least what you know of them on a personal level." The man spoke as Varzia gritted her teeth to the man refusing to give him what he wanted. "But first you need to be reminded who you belong to from now on, say it." He said using the energy from the Kuva Varzia was forced to say the words.
"I belong… to you." Varzia was forced to say as she mentally cursed the Orokin for making the Dax biologically subservient to them.
"Good as expected from my Dax soldier." The man said and thus glared upon her through a visor over his eyes. "Now let us speak of the Tenno." He said and thus Varzia was forced to tell this man everything she knew of them.
(Scene Break Uranus)
Deep under the oceans of Uranus in a Grineer prison cell a woman was seen working on something. She made sure to look over her shoulders as she was working. In her hand was some sort of device a transmitter as she was trying to get a signal out from her current prison cell. "Come on anyone please." She grumbled as she was sending out an SOS signal for her current predicament.
Just then she had to cut her call short when she heard movement coming in from outside her cell. Acting fast she hid the device and in turn those ugly bastards of the Grineer opened her cell. She was able to hide her attempt at escape with the small hope that her signal was received. So, the Grineer proceeded to drag her out of the cell to continue work on the project they had drafted her to complete.
(Scene Break Lua Tenno Fortress)
Transporting the Angel to Lua was the only thing they can do at the moment. Any other location would make it too big of a risk and thus here it was. At the moment drones and Workers were deconstructing the Angels remains taking samples to study and research. The Lotus had contacted Gomaitru, Kaelli, and Kermerros from the Entrati on Deimos and Priestess Amaryn from New Loka to help understand this creature. They would have preferred transporting it to Deimos instead but with the Infestation they couldn't be sure how the Angels remains would react to it.
"Look I don't know what you're hoping to find, my friend Ritsuko couldn't crack it what makes you guys think you can." Misato said as the three Entrati researchers hovered around the specimen via drones set up for their use and Warframes to help gather samples.
"We're dealing with an entirely new creature and no offense, but your friend isn't here to give us concrete information." Kaelli said as she had her drone look towards Misato who rolled her eyes to this.
"Look all I was able to figure out is that these things are possible evolutionary paths humanity could have taken." Misato said as she looked to the Angels corpse. "At least if they came from Adam." Misato added as she rather not imagine her looking like that.
"So, if humans came from Lilith and Angels came from Adam." Kermerros mused to himself as he got to thinking a bit.
"What is it?" Kaelli asked as she looked to her brother.
"A small hunch I want to look into." Kermerros said and thus he began to get another sample of the Angel ready. "You said that these creatures had a 98% match to humans, right?" Kermerros said and thus they were all confused by his words.
"Yes, but what are you?" Kaelli asked when Gomaitru began to connect the dots.
"Wait do you think?" Gomaitru asked and thus Kermerros got it done.
"I was thinking but now I know." He said after he finished comparing the genetic material with a sample of his own.
"What I don't follow." Misato said and thus the son of the Entrati presented his findings.
"According to my findings it would seem we Orokin are in fact Adam's progeny." Kermerros said as the data showed a 99% match between Orokin and Angel DNA. "If they had that one missing variable this lovely specimen would have turned into something more like us... minus our current... dilemma with the Infested." Kermerros said muttering the last bit as he references their Infested state.
"So, this creature could of easily have been us." Kailli said as she clearly found all of this to be truly fascinating.
"Ah but you forget my dear son, Eternalism exists and thus there is a version of us who did in fact become these... creatures." Gomaitru said as while she shared her daughter's fascination, she did have some... objections to it.
Misato then looked over to where Shura was and saw him off to the side. Shura was in talks with Ordis as thankfully his hand had stopped that flexing bit after the last battle. "Operator, I've run several different scans if there is some sort of bleeding effect between you and the EVA, I can't seem to find it." Ordis said as he was just as worried about his Operator as Shura was. After trying to tame Umbra Shura feared that it may come down to trying to tame this EVA as well.
"Hey, Shura-Chan are you ok?" Misato asked as she walked over to Shura.
"Oh yeah I'm fine." Shura confirmed as he looked to Misato. "Did you need something?" Shura asked as he looked over to Misato.
"No just seeing if you were ok." Misato said and thus Shura nodded but then her words caught up to him.
"Wait Shura-Chan... the fuck is Chan?" Shura asked which got Misato to start giggling before they received a call.
"Shura report to your Orbiter I have a new mission assignment for you and Reiko to undergo." Lotus said and thus Shura sighed to this.
"Understood." Shura responded as Misato got the call as well. "Sorry Misato duty calls." Shura said and in turn he headed to where he parked his Landing Craft to receive details on their objective.
Misato sighed a bit feeling lonely now. "Well at least I don't have paperwork to do." Misato said with a grin on her face hoping she would finally be free of that.
"Ah Ms. Katsuragi I caught you good." A Tenno Operator said as he walked over to Misato. "We have some files we need from you as well as ranking acknowledgement and several other bits of paperwork." The Operator said and thus handed to Misato a data pad where the paperwork was stored.
Misato was quiet for a bit as she saw this and realized what happened. "Me and my big mouth." Misato said face palming herself realizing she had to get this done. Seems even Paperwork decided to adapt and make her life miserable.
(Orbiter enroute to Uranus)
Shura was inside his Orbiter as it travelled through the Void to get to Uranus. "Tenno in recent days I've received an encrypted message in morse code emanating from deep within Uranus." The Lotus said as a map of Uranus showed on screen where it zoomed in on the beacons source.
"A rescue mission, this seems pretty basic if you ask me." Shura said as he looked to the screen. "Why not get some of the other Tenno do take this mission?" Shura asked knowing how basic Rescue Missions tended to be.
"Normally yes but the source of the beacon in emanating from what I believe is a secret Grineer research facility where I've been tracing rumors of for two months already." Lotus spoke giving the Tenno the needed information. "In this research facility there are rumors of a new Grineer Weapon being made." Lotus said revealing why they had to go on this particular mission. "I do not think this is a simple coincidence, so I want you two to go in, find the hostage, and find and eliminate the weapon." Lotus said and thus Shura knew whatever the Grineer were making cannot be good.
"Understood, Lotus." Reiko responded and thus they were ready to deploy.
"Remember this is a STEALTH Mission I do not want alarms to be set off especially due to the sensitivity of what we are dealing with." The Lotus said reminding the Tenno of this fact as she had dealt with several Tenno who got cocky and arrogant before throwing caution to the wind and going in guns blazing. And with that warning they were off to undertake this new mission.
(Scene Break Tyl Regor Uranus)
"Remarkable truly remarkable!" Tyl said as he observed the newest weapon before him. "Never have I been so blessed to bear witness to a weapon like this!" Tyl called out as he looked upon the weapon before him. "It's power, its biology, and its fury with my tubemen would allow me to make tremendous research in curing cloning decay!" Tyl called out as he looked to the scene before changing is attention. "And it's all thanks to you my dear." He said looking to the woman in the room with him and several other Grineer.
"But we still have one problem one tiny little problem." Tyl said before grabbing the woman by her neck and lifting her up. "WHY CAN'T MY GRINEER ACTIVATE IT!" He yelled at her making it clear he was upset.
"I keep telling you the Clones you have given me are not able to handle the initial activation you keep making clones of clones the cellular instability makes them not only incompatible but also incapable of surviving the Synchronization sequence." The woman struggled before being tossed to the ground.
"EXCUSES!" He yelled clearly angry that they wasted time on a new weapon that they couldn't even use.
"It's not an excuse the data points to this, I can use clones, but I need clones from a FRESH Source not what you've currently been using!" The woman said and thus Tyl growled to this.
"Find a work around Doctor otherwise." Tyl began before slamming his massive knux onto the table nearby. "I can't promise your continued pass to living." Tyl said and thus he looked to the guards. "Take her back to her cell." Tyl said and thus the Soldiers nodded and escorted the woman as ordered.
Once he was alone Tyl growled a bit to the current dilemma he was in. "The Queens will not be happy about this, I need to bring results, but that damn woman can't seem to provide them after putting so much time and effort into this titan that won't move!" Tyl growled glaring at the massive being revealing it to be an Evangelion unit. "I need time, there has to be a bypass that doesn't kill any more of my troops." Tyl said making it clear he was NOT going to sacrifice anymore of his brothers for this.
(Meanwhile on the Surface)
Shura and Reiko's Landing Crafts flew in and from it the two Tenno in their Warframes came forth. Shura was currently using Excalibur Umbra seeing as that Warframe was his go to. He had Umbra's Skiajiti equipped for melee and Nataruk for his main Weapon. His side arm was Tenet Plinx Sidearm that he planned to have the Hostage use. Shura looked to Reiko and had to admit she traded up judging by the gold on her frame.
"Hey, did you get a new Warframe, Reiko?" Shura asked as he looked to Reiko and saw the new look, she had for her Warframe.
"Yes, I've recently been able to construct the Prime Variant of Wisp and her weapons Prime Variants as well." Reiko said presenting her new Wisp Prime, and its rifle Fulmin Prime. Reiko was also using Gunsen Prime combat fans while her side arm was the Hikou Prime for the silent approach.
"Must have caused you several Relics to get through." Shura said as he knew how much of a bitch that was.
"The reward was well worth it I would say." Reiko responded which Shura simply shrugged to this as knew there was no arguing with that bit of logic.
But as much as he would like to discuss it further, they had a mission to focus on. "Alright the mission is simple; we find the hostage and from there we will split up you'll escort them to Extraction while I destroy the Grineer weapon." Shura said to which Reiko nodded in understanding of the task.
"Understood." Reiko said and thus they entered the facility making sure to remain unseen and unnoticed.
Meanwhile with the patrolling Grineer at the entry area, they failed to notice a shadow that was moving around the area fast. One Grineer had even turned towards where it was but didn't see a thing and went on its walk. The shadow had then come up behind the unaware Grineer and killed it quickly and silently, revealing that it was Umbra. As Shura and Umbra killed the Grineer, they turned invisible and quickly took out the other Grineer troops quickly as he could before he was notice.
When his invisibility wore off, there was one Grineer left that saw all of his brother killed and tried to shoot at the Tenno that killed them. But the brave if not foolish trooper was shot from afar from Reiko's Fulmin Prime rifle which one shot it dead with the electric shock bonus.
Shura sheathed his sword letting Reiko join him after coming from the entry as they proceed onwards. The pair could take the elevator down, but it would be a dead giveaway to their presence to the Grineer down below. So, they decided to just jump down the elevator shaft and quickly got to work on the next Grineer patrol down below.
(Tyl Regor)
The Grineer general was frustrated, as much he tried to figure out a way to make the Grineer built EVA move, it will not respond to any troops. He had a few ideas of doing some sort of remote control of the biomech, but in his mind that would, take too long to do if they try to install or change something.
The cloning part was the easy part for him, the technology was another thing entirely. This was why he had that woman do it instead while threating her life if she fail to produce results, and he was nearing his last nerve with that woman.
Suddenly one of his subordinates came up to him saying, "General Tyl Regor, patrols aren't checking in, we call them, but they do not answer us."
Tyl growl at this as he had enough to deal with as it is of trying to get the newest Grineer weapon to work. On top of his research into stopping the decay of the Grineer genes, he cannot have any more setbacks, so he turned to his subordinate and said, "Go find them then, if their coms aren't working fix them, but if they are dead… destroy the intruders."
With that the Grineer troop went off to find the patrol groups. Tyl Regor then turned his attention back to the EVA as he still had a lot of work to do, unaware of what's about to happen.
(Prison cell)
The woman started had turn on her SOS system again hoping someone can figure it out and find her. But then to her horror the beeps started to die down as it was getting slower and slower as the woman said, "No, not now. Not yet. It was hard enough to get a working battery this can't be happening!"
But alas there was nothing she can do at this point as the SOS device she made went dead. She groaned in frustration before she threw her device on her bed as she said to herself, "This can't be happening. At this rate they are going to kill me. Even if they give me more time, I don't have the resources to build a working dummy plug, and if I did, without the data of the brain waves of Rei, and use brainwave of those clones that thing would just kill everyone."
The woman bow her head and put a hand to her head while she slid down again the wall as she said, "It's no good, either I wait and start praying for a miracle hoping that someone managed to get my message or prepare for my death… dammit what I wouldn't do for a cigarette right about now."
Suddenly there was a commotion happen outside of her cell, as the woman hear those Grineer moving out like something was happening. Then suddenly gun fire was heard and with it the sound of a blade maybe deflecting bullets before slicing and dicing all before everything went quiet.
The woman stood up to see what was happening out there, through her peep hole. But a shadow moved by it as the woman pulled away and put her back against the wall, in fear. Then there was the sound of someone plugging something into the control panel, a few beeping sounds before a confirm sound was heard and then the door to her cell suddenly open wide as she saw her savior.
The pair stood there as they looked to her for a moment before speaking. "Are you the one who sent out the SOS signal?" Shura asked and thus the woman was filled with joy of the rescue.
"Y-yes thank god my Signal was picked up." The woman said to which Shura nodded figuring she had been through a bit of an ordeal.
Shura then activated his communicator so he can contact the Lotus and inform her of the Hostage situation. "Lotus Hostage secure moving to Extraction." Shura began but then the woman stopped him from doing that.
"Wait we can't leave yet." She spoke getting the Tenno's attention on her. "These... things they have an EVA unit we can't let them keep it." She revealed and thus the two looked to her in shock.
"And EVA unit here?" Reiko asked as the woman heard this.
"I guess that was the Grineer Weapon Lotus heard about." Shura said causing the woman to look to the pair shocked that they knew about the EVA. "How do you know about this?" Shura asked wanting answers from her.
"They forced me to build it for them." She said and thus they were surprised someone knew how to build the Evangelions.
"Ritsuko!?" Came the voice of Misato over Shura and Reiko's communicator almost catching them by surprise.
"Katsuragi? You know this woman?" Reiko asked causing the woman to go wide eyed to this.
"Wait Katsuragi, as in Misato Katsuragi?" The woman possibly named Ritsuko asked shocked over what she just heard.
"Yes..." Shura said and thus Reiko reached onto her person for something. She took it out revealing a communicator earpiece which Ritsuko understood the message. She took the offered device and put it in her ear which was met by a familiar sight.
"Ritsuko is that really you7?!" Misato asked as it was Ritsuko's turn to go wide eyed in shock.
"Misato, you have no idea how happy I am to hear you." Ritsuko said in which Misato was no doubt happy about as well.
"The same I thought I'd never see you again." Misato said in which Ritsuko shared the sentiments. "But we can play catch up later how does the Grineer have an EVA unit?" Misato asked wanting answers almost taking control of the mission from the Lotus.
"They forced me to build it, but it's not ready to deploy yet it lacks a dominant soul to give it life." Ritsuko said as she was going off the assumption Misato already knows after going through Kaji's data.
Shura and Reiko heard this and took a moment to consider their options. The EVA were designed to instigate Instrumentality but with no Gendo and no SEELE that just left the EVAs to rot. Still with the Angels return they needed all the EVA's they can get their hands on. "Lotus did you get all that?" Shura asked into his communicator.
"I did Tenno, if the new Grineer Weapon is an EVA unit then acquiring it has become our primary objective." Lotus responded and thus Shura knew what was needed. "I will call in a vessel to retrieve the EVA be ready for pick up." Lotus said and thus Shura nodded.
"Acknowledged." Shura said and in turn too out the Tenet Plinks side arm and handed it to Ritsuko with the handle towards her. "Know how to use this?" He asked and thus Ritsuko took the weapon.
"Something similar yes." Ritsuko admitted and thus Shura simply nodded to this.
"Alright let's move, we going to capture the EVA." Shura said surprising Ritsuko.
"But it doesn't have a Soul if either of you enter it chances are it will absorb you." Ritsuko said and thus Reiko stepped in on this.
"Not if we use Transference." Reiko confirmed while she looked over to Ritsuko.
"Transference?" Ritsuko asked before Misato cut in.
"It's complicated but to make a long story short, Ritz the forms you see are called Warframes and for lack of a better description their like man sized Evangelions." Misato said and thus Ritsuko's scientist curiosity got excited over this.
"We can talk more later but right now we need to move." Shura said but before they could do so they heard more Grineer at the door out and upon seeing them they were wide eyed. They acted fast and started to sound the alarms causing the Tenno to go wide eyed to this. They managed to shoot one Grineer trooper, but he had already sounded the alarms while his brother was calling in to Tyl Regor.
"We need to move now!" Reiko called out and thus it was time to roll but the first one was calling for help. "But first!" Reiko began before she used her Warframe's ability to summon three motes. From those motes they released a singular smaller mote that began to hover around the three of them. "This should give us an edge." Reiko said and in turn they got moving with Ritsuko surprised to be keeping up with the Tenno.
(Back with Tyl Regor)
"General we have a situation, the Tenno! The Tenno are here rescuing the GAUGH!" The Soldier was cut off as the alarms continued to echo across the base.
"Tenno!" Tyl Regor snarled as for him this day just kept getting more infuriating for him. "All units the Tenno are in the base! Kill them and the prisoner!" He roared out his order and thus all the units got moving. Meanwhile Tyl Regor took out his axe and shield as he knew his troops would not be enough thus, he was prepared to face the Tenno head on.
"This time they die." Tyl Regor said as he was going to inflict his revenge and subject the Tenno to live dissection.
(Scene Break back with the Tenno)
The Tenno with Ritsuko had made it to the door leading to Tyl Regor's lab that had the EVA. Shura had experience with Regor as did his two teammates in varying ways. They had constantly stood in his way before awakening from the Second Dream. Reiko had Ritsuko stay close to her as she every so often rose from cover to shoot at the Grineer. She may know how to use the gun but clearly, she was not the best shot during a firefight.
Shura then had Nataruk charged to full power and fired the energy arrow off taking out a few of the Grineer. Shura then jumped out from cover before using Slash Dash to take out the ones who survived his attack. The area was clear as Shura then headed for the door to get them out of this place. "Come on!" Shura called out and thus the Tenno and the Scientist both headed for the door that Shura was opening.
Once the door was open Shura, Reiko, and Ritsuko all ran in to find the EVA unit Ritsuko was forced to it is." Ritsuko said as they approached the giant biomech as Reiko cringed a bit.
"That's a lot of Grineer modifications and augmentations on it." Reiko said seeing the crude Grineer work on it.
"Don't blame me it's all they gave me to work with." Ritsuko defended as she knew this was NOT her best work. But then again, she's never built an EVA from scratch so there was that fact as well.
"I suppose it will suffice." Reiko added as she approached the scene a bit. "We need to get those locks off so we can escape with it." Reiko said as Shura looked for the main console.
But before they could approach further Tyl Regor appeared in front of them and swung his axe at Shura. "I think not Tenno." Regor called out as he attacked but Shura blocked it with the sheath of his Katana and then drew the blade to slice against him. Tyl growled glaring at the Tenno ready to end his miserable life here and now.
"Hurry get the EVA free I'll deal with Regor!" Shura ordered and thus Reiko nodded in response.
"Let's go." Reiko said and thus she guided Ritsuko around the dueling foes.
"Well Tenno I should have known you and your ilk would come for my new weapon, after what you did to the Tubemen." Regor said glaring at Shura.
"Honestly, we just came for her, but the weapon is a nice bonus." Shura responded to the Grineer researcher/general. "Thought honestly I thought Narmer may have punched your clock at this point." Shura began before the sound of a smirk came from him. "I guess I was wrong." he added clearly taunting the Grineer before him.
"Laugh as much as you like, Tenno but I'm going to tear you and your Lotus limb from limb!" Tyl roared and charged at Shura ready to end him. They're fight began and if Shura was right Tyl Regor's combat prowess were the same as ever typical of Grineer troops even the higher ups.
(Meanwhile with Reiko and Ritsuko)
The pair were already on the console getting the binding locks off of the EVA so they can ride it out of the base. "I still don't know how you plan to get the EVA out I haven't solved the Battery life problem yet." Ritsuko said as she typed away on the computer.
"Let me worry about that." Reiko said as she summoned forth more Motes so to cover their position.
Just then gunfire went off causing Ritsuko to duck from it. Looking to the source Grineer Marines were moving in on their position. The motes protected them but that would not keep them down for long even as Reiko proceeded to slice through them with her Gunsen Prime. As Ritsuko continued to work she could not help but feel a certain animosity born from familiarity towards Reiko. It was just her voice it sounded suspiciously like that of Rei. While she was on the subject of Rei her mind went to the EVA wondering how Reiko was going to activate it and get it moving up the hatch. The large doors overhead began to open up but that was when Ritsuko saw a problem.
"Dammit!" Ritsuko cursed as Reiko joined her at the console while shooting at the Grineer.
"What's wrong?" Reiko asked with concern for the Doctor.
"The clamps are jammed I can't get them loose." Ritsuko said and thus Reiko saw the problem as well.
Reiko then pulled up her gear wheel and proceeded to select Velocitus before she proceeded to open fire on the Grineer. The blasts from the shots of the Archgun mowed down the foes with ease. She then directed her attention to the clamps and proceeded to shoot them off the EVA freeing it with each shot. Soon enough the left arm was freed as was the large gun that made up its right arm.
"Ok that solves that problem but we still." Ritsuko began only to go wide eyed as Reiko stepped out of her Warframe, literally. There was a small surge of energy around the Warframe as a child stepped out, not just any child but Rei Ayanami.
"No Rei... how?" Ritsuko asked wondering if she was facing another Rei Clone. Or worse she was actually dead, and this place was in fact Hell.
Rei then looked to Ritsuko revealing her lower face had scarring reaching up from her neck. Reiko was never one to wear much other than her Zariman suit which had been made white for some form of individuality. The scars were what tipped off Ritsuko of a case of mistaken identity but still the resemblance was uncanny.
"I am Reiko." Reiko said simply as even her voice reminded Ritsuko of Rei. But before anything else could be said Ritsuko saw Reiko was beginning to glow and from it was staring directly at the EVA. The next thing Ritsuko knew she vanished, and a stream of energy entered the EVA and vanished into said EVA.
Everything stopped as to the shock of many the EVA unit began to lift up its arm towards one of the restraint clamps on it. Ritsuko was shocked by this as it tore the clamp off and tossed it aside. Nearby Tyl Regor saw it as he pushed Shura back a bit and was wide eyed both in shock and fury. "It's moving?! ITS ACTIVE!" Regor roared as he then glared at Ritsuko realizing what this meant. "You, deceptive whore you built this for the Tenno!" He roared out his accusation against Ritsuko and began to charge at Ritsuko who was wide eyed.
In a panic Ritsuko fired the Tenant Plex at Regor but he used his shield to block the shots. His fury was so focused that he failed to see Shura coming at him with his Exalted Blade drawn. He never saw it coming as Shura sliced the Grineer in two ending his life once more. "Eyes on the enemy." Shura said with a calm tone in his voice.
"Reiko, can you hear me?" Shura asked into the communicator as he looked to the EVA that was freeing itself.
"Yes, I can hear you, Shura." Reiko said surprising Ritsuko no doubt she switched the communicator frequencies.
"Looks like you're going to have to climb your way out." Shura said noting that the Platform lift was a no go.
"Understood while I do that, escort Doctor Akagi to the Extraction Point." Reiko said and thus Shura figured as much especially when he saw Reiko use the EVA to grab her Warframe.
"Let's go." Shura said and thus he took Ritsuko's hand and lead her away.
(With Reiko)
After depositing her Warframe into the Entry Plug spot on the EVA's neck she got ready for her climb. A peg leg was set on her right leg but from the general build the EVA was a gunner type of unit, so this peg leg was for aiming a weapon. Regardless she knew she had to climb and thus Reiko got ready to start the climb. Almost on instinct alone the right Pauldron opened up and from it a harpoon/grappling hook type of attachment shot upward and soon latched onto the wall. Using this edge Reiko began to climb up the tunnel back to the surface above.
Of course, the Grineer were not about to lose their newest weapon to the Tenno and thus began attacking. They circled around the EVA with gunships and opened fire on the Tenno. At the same time Grineer in the tunnel's walkways were firing upon the EVA as well hoping that in some miracle they can stop it.
The EVA of course had proven to be more then capable of handling the fire power as it even swatted the fliers from the area. Once the hook got back to its base Reiko reset the shot and fired again to continue her climb. Desperate were the Grineer however as they began to seal up the tunnel to stop their weapon from being taken by the Tenno. Reiko seeing this had the EVA lean back to aim its massive arm cannon at the tunnel path allowing for energy to build up at the tip. Once the charge reached its apex Reiko opened fire and blasted the reinforced doors to molten slag before continuing her climb.
The Grineer fired from above trying to stop the EVA, but it was no use she kept going higher and higher each section passed was closer to freedom. The more she climbed the more desperate the Grineer started to get until she eventually got to the final sealed door of the tunnel. She smirked a bit as she then aimed the cannon once more for the final shot.
(Surface)
At the same time Shura and Ritsuko had made it outside to the surface and were loaded up into his Landing Craft. As Ordis flew the Landing Craft, they pair looked out the window for any sign of Reiko. "Reiko where are you, the ship is about to arrive!" Shura called out into the communicator hoping for a response from the girl.
Just then a powerful beam shot out from one of the platforms and from it, Reiko with the EVA climbed out and stood tall. She looked to the sky and saw Grineer Galeons flying down and firing upon the EVA. Reiko aimed the cannon and fired another shot swinging the beam taking out the Galeons and allowing them to crash into the ocean where they sank.
With the skies cleared the ship the Lotus requested controlled by the Perrum Sequence flew in ready to pick up the EVA. It opened the main hatch where the EVA would be stored for transport. Once it was open Reiko climbed in and thus the hatch closed and with it the mission was accomplished.
(Scene Break Lua)
"RITS!" Misato called out and hugged her old friend happy to see her.
"Misato it's good to see you as well." Ritsuko greeted while hugging her friend back.
"Dr. Akagi." Lotus spoke as she got the woman's attention. "It's a pleasure to meet you proper, Misato spoke of you." Lotus said as she looked to the woman.
"Likewise, though I'd like to know why you are gathering the EVA's." Ritsuko said but her question was clear.
"Ritsuko... the Angels their back." Misato said causing Ritsuko to go wide eyed to this.
"What but that's it can be... HOW!?" The faux blond woman asked trying to make sense of this.
"We have a few theories and thanks to the Entrati Family we have one that is most likely." Lotus said and thus got down to it. "To make a long story short we believe that they came from the same source as the Orokin, Adam himself." Lotus said and thus Ritsuko saw the Lotus was aware of things.
"More so we think that Third Impact may have scattered Adam and Lilith all over the System making the Angels look everywhere for him meaning if they attack it won't be on Earth." Misato said as this meant they could not use Adam and/or Lilith as bait to attract the Angels.
"So, you need the EVAs to combat the Angels due to the size differences between them and the Warframes." Ritsuko said as there was more. "If I have a good enough facility, I should be able to help maintain them but..." Ritsuko began only to be shown the holographic image of the Geofront that was being excavated.
"A facility like this?" Lotus asked as she gave the image to Ritsuko.
"Yes... this would most certainly do." Ritsuko said amazed that they found NERV. "But if we consider carbon dating and time the equipment may be beyond salvage." Ritsuko said and thus Lotus got down to it.
"Send us a copy of your Wishlist then, if we are to fortify this place, we need your aid." Lotus said and thus Misato had to ask.
"But how did you get here?" Misato asked wanting answers as to the how.
"I'm not sure, I overheard them talking about finding washed up in a puddle of red water they called it Kuva but if I suspect it was LCL." Misato said as Lotus thought it over for a moment.
'Could LCL and Kuva be one in the same?' Lotus wondered as she considered that option.
"Well, I suppose I should welcome you to the SEELE and Gendo free future." Misato said as Ritsuko sighed a bit while looking away.
"Thanks." Ritsuko said as she needed some time to adjust.
A Blade of the Lotus approached and stood sentinel. "This Blade shall escort you to your quarters." Lotus said and thus Ritsuko nodded and followed the Blade away from the area.
Once Ritsuko was out of hearing range Lotus had to ask. "Can she be trusted?" Lotus asked knowing full well that Ritsuko was part of Gendo Ikaris inner circle.
"Honestly I'm not sure, he manipulated her sure but..." Misato trailed off as she wanted to trust her friend but after everything trust was not easily regained once lost.
"Very well best to keep a close eye on her, just in case." Lotus said and with that they agreed on what to do about the returned Scientist from the past era. "Still... if the Grineer could build an EVA... what about the Corpus." Lotus said and thus she had a bad feeling about this.
(Meanwhile on Jupiter)
Deep in the Labs of Project Zanuka on Jupiter Alad-V, after narrowly escaping the New War, grinned sadistically as he looked upon his greatest achievement. Apparently, everyone was doing the giant mech thing and Alad V could see the profit in getting on the action. At the moment he watched as his scientists were studying the fossilized remains of what was clearly an EVA. Particularly this was EVA Unit-02 from its final battle before Third Impact, not that Alad-V or the Corpus knew this. But soon with this new EVA he will take his rightful place on the Board and in the name of Profit he shall have all that is owed to him.
