Joshua and Frank spent the night at the cabin. Neither slept in the bedroom because Joshua had thoroughly destroyed the bed in a fit of rage. Now, though, sitting in the living room watching the fire in the fire place he was calm. Frank was sitting on a chair at the table.

"So, Joshua, what plans do you have once you leave? Will you take Shellie?" Frank asked him. Josh sat a few moments before answering and then he said:

"I don't' know. I am finally feeling safe and secure within and want to find out if Pilar and I can have a relationship. I am not sure taking a child with us will help things. I know Jeremy and Candy have done such things, but Candy had her brother and sister for Jeremy to 'practice' on. So, when Candy started to have babies, he was ready. I don't think I am ready for a family yet." Frank nodded and sat waiting for Joshua to say more.

"I am not sure if Pilar wants children, her past hasn't really been all that great either. Sheila never wanted children! Or at least that is what she led me to believe. I am surprised to find out she had a child! I thought for sure she would find a way to get rid of it before it became an issue!" Joshua said and finished his glass of whiskey. Frank looked at Joshua thinking of what he needed to say to Josh and what he needed not to say. Frank had known Sheila a lot longer than Joshua, and he had seen her at her best and worst. The last time Josh saw her was at her worst.

"Josh, do you remember when you first laid eyes on Sheila? She wasn't one of your brides, you met her in San Francisco at the governor's ball, at Christmas?" Josh thought about that. Yes, he had met her. He found her exciting and knowledgeable with an infectious smile. When she smiled, his heart could not help but swell. He wanted her, he wanted her as he had never wanted a woman before. Not in the physical sense only but in the sense that she made him complete. She had brown hair, blue eyes which sparkled when she spoke. She could tell a joke, or a story and make you feel the emotions deep inside.

"Frank she was the one! I can't explain it, nor do I want to. She was the one who through me 'over her shoulder and carried me home'! I know a lot of people thought she put a spell on me, I even thought that for a while but really, the connection we had was impermeable. There was a love that was, is still burning deep inside. That is why I don't feel right about taking Shellie home with me. I am afraid of her!" He said to Frank in almost a whisper. I am afraid she will be like her mother, one day turn on me and everyone else until she has killed all that she loved!" Joshua stood up and walked out the door. The emotions were too heavy for him. He did not want to keep them inside like he had done previously. Frank put his glass down and went outside with Josh and stood on the porch. The cool of the night, the stars lighting up the earth and a gibbous moon shining in the night sky like a night light to guide a person home. Josh leaned on the railing of the porch. He was working on keeping the tears from flowing. Frank put his hand on josh's back and said to him:

"Josh, I think you need to walk all over tonight, and say goodbye to those memories. When she died, she was worried for you. She needed you. She herself loved you like you loved her. Whatever the trigger was that sent her spiraling down like that, is gone. Hopefully, it won't touch Shellie. But Sheila would want you to take her. She knew your family well."
"What do you mean!" Josh said suddenly worried that something about his family was going to be found out. Frank looked at the fear in his eyes and the fear on his face and he said to Joshua.

"When you get home, ask your brother Jason to get your father's journal and read about one man named Campbell. He came out the same time your father did. He had been after your mother and would not leave her alone. Your father Jonathan had words, but he still did not heed the warning. When Campbell came back to steal your mother away, your father was waiting for him. They fought ferociously and when everything was said and done, Campbell was the loser, not only losing your mother but he lost his left leg in the process. He went to Idaho and then to Wyoming where he met and married an Indian woman who was Sheila's mother. That is why Sheila had dark brown hair and blue eyes. But he died and was unable to protect her or her mother and that is how Sheila was then abandoned and abused. When she finally became old enough, she started to take control. She did not let anyone take advantage of her. She grew her 'business' and those she employed knew where they stood. If she was displeased, you may find yourself beaten or tortured. She often enjoyed that. She had learned how to torture when she was living with the Indian tribes. Everyone was afraid of her and would not cross her. I came into her life and she at first did not trust me, but I eventually gained her trust, although I admit, I had to do some very horrible things for her. When you came into her life, she was just finally calming down and being almost a human. You saw the good in her, she did have good, but the event that triggered her psychopathic tendencies had already happened when she met you. Eventually, she would turn into the evil woman you became familiar with." Josh sat there trying to process this information. Frank said it was time to turn in. So, he went inside. Joshua first went up to the hill and stood and looked at her grave. Silently within his heart he talked to her. She was listening to him. When he went in to sleep, she came to him and let him know that she was happy now.

The next morning, frank and Joshua got up and had a breakfast. Joshua saddled Spirit and left Frank to go back to the sheriff's house to see Maggie and talk about Shellie. As he rode off the property, he thought he heard a faint sound. Stopping Spirit, he looked back at the hill. The sun was shining brightly across the tree and grave. A vision stood in white, he heard on the breeze a short request
"Take care of our baby!" The breeze came ever so lightly and was gone, He shook his head as if he had a fuzzy feeling and then sped away as fast as he could on Spirit. He made it to town in record time and arrived at the house. He tethered Spirit to the post in front and went in the side door. He heard laughter and a child's voice say:

"Oh, Piwar, that was a funny story!" He saw Shellie and Pilar on the floor with Pilar holding some dolls and making a story for the child. She did not see him, nor did Shellie, he quickly went up the back stairs to his room. He had to think.
