BPOV
He was so different now.
I wasn't sure if he'd be able to maintain his composure during the funeral, but he did.
I was standing with some of his friends as per the protocols, but I wanted to be there with him.
I wanted to be there with his family to support them.
It felt like there was so much distance between us now, and I wasn't liking it.
I was feeling completely out of place right now.
Edward was the one who usually would guide me with all the rules, customs, everything, and now he didn't have time for me.
I wasn't the only one who was his priority now.
I was glad I had Emmett and Alice to support me whenever I had any kind of questions.
It had been four days since I arrived here, and Edward and I had hardly talked since then.
He was busy.
He was stressed.
He was focused.
I wasn't sure if he was avoiding me because he had a lot of things in his mind, and he didn't want to get distracted by talking to me.
Yeah, that could be a possibility, but I wanted to talk to him.
I wanted to support him as best I could.
But he wasn't allowing me.
"I'm very proud of how you're handling everything," I said to him as I came to my room. I knew he'd be here just for five minutes, but I was glad at least I could talk to him alone for a bit.
"You're doing an amazing job," I said, "I'm really proud of you."
He just nodded his head.
He was so stressed!
How could I help him?
I put my hands on his face, and leaned forward for the kiss, but he just gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"Ummm... I hope you've figured out the dress for tomorrow. If you've any questions, please feel free to reach out to Jane," he said.
Yes, he was a stranger now!
"Hey..." He said as he entered the room, "I want to talk about something important."
