Apparently, me being nice isn't going anywhere with Arika, the sociopathic b*tch that doesn't know when to stop. She doesn't know what the meaning of the word "Fanfiction" means evidently. And as for this character she keeps bringing up, (Go to my reviews for this story to find out who it is) I have no idea what the hell she's talking about. If any of you are Dodger X Rita fans, then I'm perfectly fine with it. It's your opinion. Rose with Dodger is for my stories on Oliver and Company.
Arika needs to stop acting like a spoiled child in a store when their parent tells them they can't have a toy. It's honestly getting really annoying and obnoxious. All she needs to do is get off this website for good if she detests how I'm writing on here. Not to mention, she's even writing hateful comments on my other work that hasn't anything to do with Oliver and Company, and I really don't appreciate that in the least bit. We're all adults here, so Arika needs to act like it too.
(Daring Escape)
Meanwhile at the barge, the others had made it back. The absence of Rose and Dodger didn't go unnoticed. It wasn't uncommon for Rose and Dodger to leave for long periods of time.
However, when the next night came, they began to get worried. "What is taking them so long?" Tito asked while he bounded energetically.
"Maybe he's taken our Rosie out on a date somewhere?" Einstein clarified. "Impossible. Those two don't have any romantic feelings," Rita said.
Or maybe they have got those certain feelings; It was hard to tell. They were happy to see that Francis had settled into his new lifestyle.
"I hope they come back soon. I'm starting to get worried," Rita said, going inside her bed. Everybody had fallen into a reluctant sleep.
(The Next Morning)
Rita was the first to wake up at the crack of dawn. She found that Dodger's bed and Rose's bed had been left untouched.
Rita began to feel sick, her stomach was doing flips. Dodger and Rose have been missing for two days now. How long would it be before they started to search for them?
There was something wrong, so Rita made up her mind to round up Francis, Einstein, and Tito to help her search if they were still missing the next day. The saluki mix walked out of her bed and she stretched her legs.
She went outside to the deck. The morning breeze brushes through her fur wistfully. Rita looked out to the early morning city, which slowly came to life as the sun added vibrant colors to the streets.
"Oh, Dodger… Rose… Please come home…" she whispered, dropping her head when she thought of her two friends.
(Rose, Kaiden, Dodger)
Rose was also awake early but she found it hard to tell if it was night or day. Kaiden was asleep next to her, whimpering in his sleep.
Her optimism was still strong. She knew that Rita and the rest of the gang would get her, Dodger, and Kaiden out of here.
It would have been two days since Rose and Dodger had gone missing. During that time, Rose had told Kaiden about her life with Fagin and the gang to help him get his mind off of what was happening.
"Do… Do you miss him?" Kaiden asked. Rose looked down at him. "Hmm?" she wondered, perking her ears.
"Fagin… Do you miss him?" Kaiden asked again. "Like you wouldn't believe. It was Dodger and Einstein that saved me, gave me a home, gave me this bandana. It's now a symbol of where I belong," she said, putting a paw on her blue bandana.
"I never thought I would imagine seeing you again in these circumstances," she told him, giving him a smile. Kaiden forced a smile on his muzzle, the first smile he's had in what seemed like months.
"I never thought we would see each other again… R-Rose, it's not your fault that this happened to us… Now we're back together again," Kaiden replied.
Rose nuzzled her brother comfortably and closed her eyes. "I'm never leaving you again… Those dogs aren't going to keep us here. They aren't going to take Dodger away from me," she told him.
That was it; She was going to get them out of this hellhole whether Brutus liked it or not. "We're leaving. Tonight. I'm gonna get us out of here when those brutes are sleeping. There's gotta be a way out," Rose said, getting up from her spot.
"What're you doing?" Kaiden asked, watching what Rose was doing. She was looking around the room for a weak spot that they could squeeze through.
"This old place has to have a weak spot somewhere," Rose said, starting to dig through what debris was in there. "They're gonna hear you!" Kaiden gasped fearfully.
"Ah! Found one," Rose said with satisfaction. She had found a dirt spot that was weak enough for her to dig through. "I can dig us out. Kaiden, listen. If you hear any of them coming, then tell me, okay? I know you're scared, but we need to work together, just like last time," she instructed him.
Rose remembered that they did this a week before they were separated. They had been taken by the dog catcher together and Kaiden was her ears while she dug them a hole to escape.
"Right… Like last time…" Kaiden sighed, getting to his paws. His legs were shaky from the lack of nutrition in his body. He walked over to the door and sat down in front of it so he could listen for anything.
Rose began to dig as fast as she could in the loose patch of dirt. Ten minutes later, Kaiden spoke up.
"Rose! Someone's coming!" he whispered, backing up from the door. Rose quickly hid the evidence with the use of an old rug.
Just as she finished, the dresser was pushed out of the way and Jasper walked in with two bones that had a little bit of meat left on them.
"Here. Brutus figured you two should have food. Or at least what's left of it. Besides, my leader wants his future mate to be healthy," Jasper said to Rose.
"He can keep dreaming," Rose spat, still feeling disgusted by Brutus' attempts to have her as his mate.
Kaiden didn't like what he was hearing at all. He always knew that Brutus was bad news; Now he knew just how bad.
Jasper drops the bones and leaves the room, pushing the dresser back in front of the door.
They listened for Jasper's paw steps to recede before they could catch their breaths. "Whoo… that was close. If that idiot thinks that I'm going to be his mate, he's got another thing coming," Rose growled, kicking the bone away from herself.
"He's not… Not gonna force you to be his mate, is he?" Kaiden asked, ears dropped. "He's trying, but it's never going to happen. Ever. Okay, let's finish this," Rose replied, pulling the rug out from over the hole.
She continued to dig and dig.
By the time evening fell, Rose had made it all the way through. She pulled her body out of the hole and shook her fur from the dirt.
She was finally free from that hell space. That hole had led the siblings outside. Rose crouched down and called for Kaiden to follow.
Kaiden made no hesitation to climb out of the hole. He also shook his fur to get the dirt off. He smelt fresh air for the first time in a long time and saw more buildings and saw the water gently rippling below him.
"Let's get out of here before they see us," Rose whispered to her brother. The two dogs then gallop away from that warehouse as fast.
'I'll be back, Dodger… I'm going to bring the whole gang and we're gonna get you out of there. I promise…' Rose thought to herself, knowing what she had to do to save her friend.
Now that Rose and Kaiden have made their escape, how will they find the gang and hope to rescue their dear friend and leader? Stay tuned. Next chapter will be out soon.
