North Corridor

Sally just walked into the bathroom for her final break before school would get out. When she would turn the corner, she would come face to face with Patty (Swanson).

"Excuse me, Sally." Patty said flatly. She was still upset with Sally after hearing about what she said from schroeder and really didn't feel like feeding her delusions at the moment.

"You move first." Sally responded, sounding extremely annoyed.

"You got in my way first. You literally can just move to the side!" Patty's tone rises up for a second.

"I'll move out of your way if you move out of Sparkyville."

"Listen, Sally." Patty began. "I have some respect for Charlie Brown, but i'm willing to drop it if i have to get through you by force." Patty eerily says in a calm manner, as if it wasn't a threat, but a promise."

Sally would look at Patty. She genuinely felt hate for her for how she took her "chance" to get Linus from her. She wasn't that stupid to get into any sort of altercation though. She'll get her back, but for now she will take the high road and silently move out of her way for her to go.

Patty would pass through to leave the bathroom, no longer focusing on her, and pondering to find another way to get home since Violet was forced to go home for the day.

"Maybe I'll ride with Charlie Brown and the others. Patty thought for a second. Though, Sally would be riding with us until she gets to Eudora's house. I don't want to deal with her right now, but she's also riding with Linus as well and i cannot trust her with him. I guess i will bite the bullet. I just hope Violet doesn't need me to come over or anything in the meantime."

Grey Residence.

Violet was in the middle of getting told off by her parents. Her dad had to drop a important meeting to make another attempt to straighten his daughter out.

"You keep digging your hole, you spoiled brat!" Her mother Kathleen, would start the vocally vicious ripping of her daughter.

"You are in your second to last year of high school, Violet." Her father, Grant started. "It wouldn't kill you to not be a bully towards other, right?"

Violet wouldn't respond, looking down at the ground. She didn't feel any shame in what she did, but really didn't enjoy the scoldings she would receive that came with her poor choices.

"Don't go silent now, Violet! We want an answer as to why you have this urge to always instigate conflict with your peers! Especially with the Brown's son, and Mr. Reichardt's daughter ?!" Kathleen said, quickly breaking the silence made by Violet.

"I just simply don't like their existence, mother." Violet said coldly. "They think they are so much better than us, so i make it a constant reminder that they are not that high up on the totem pole. We are the people, and that freakshow of a couple are just worms."

Both Kathleen and Grant were stunned. Did their daughter genuinely have such a cold spot in her heart to disregard her targets as 'worms.'

There would be an awkward silence, just permeating in the room until Kathleen broke the silence again by doing the unthinkable in the specific relationship.

THWACK!!

She slapped Violet with enough force to eject her out of her seat. Grant would get up immediately to check on Violet. He would turn his head in anger at his wife, disgusted by her actions.

"KATHLEEN!! WE DON'T RESOLVE ANYTHING BY ASSAULTING OUR OWN DAUGHTER!" Grant barked at the other.

"Don't tell me you are defending her?!? She needs to learn to get things through that thick skull of her's."

Violet would get up, rubbing her face. "I get that from you, prude."

Kathleen would step forward, ready to strike her again. "What did you just call me, Violet?!?" Grant would get in the middle of them both.

"Violet, we aren't done discussing your behavior." Grant said, anger is still present in his voice. Later we will talk about your punishment, but for now me and your mother would like to have a talk. ALONE. Just go to your room."

Violet wanted to argue, especially as she felt she did nothing wrong at school, but had enough love and respect for her father to just silently walk to her room, but not before slamming the door.

Her room was pretty big, even more so than her parents. She decorated her room to her liking, actually showing a different side of her compared to how she publicly presented herself. She had posters of popular horrorcore rappers, such as E-Sham, and her favorite group, Insane Clown Posse. She had her interests worn on her sleeve at home then at school. It was strange, she bullied others, especially Charlie Brown for their interests, but seems to hide hers to spare herself from the same type of hate that she spews to others.

She changed the colors of her led lightbulb to green with her remote, before pulling out her phone to text Patty.

[ Violet]

School Over?

[ Patty ]

Yup. About to go hang out with Linus and the others.

[Violet]

Ew, why?

[Patty]

He's my boyfriend???

[Violet]

Not him. There's no reason to hang with that bisexual dyke and her blockhead of a boyfriend.

[Patty]

You may not like them, but i actually do. He has genuinely improved for the better.

[Violet]

What have you done with the real Patty???

[Patty]

F. U. I'm serious girl.

[ Violet ]

I can't stop you, but if you somehow get contaminated with his loser germs, wear a hazmat suit when you come over.

[Patty]

Whatever, I'll see you tomorrow.

[ Violet]

See you, love ya!

[Patty]

Love ya too.

Violet's attention would be taken out from her phone, and into the sounds of arguing happening in the other room. She would peak her head out the door, listening in on her parents little spat.

"You don't hit our sixteen year old child, Kathleen! It solves nothing, and causes fear! Grant yells.

"How would you know that??? You haven't tried it before with Violet, or any kid in that matter." Kathleen retorts.

"I haven't tried it because i've experienced it before as a kid myself! "

"They should have beaten you harder. Maybe then you would have enough common sense to know that reprimanding and punishing her by taking away her possessions doesn't work anymore." Kathleen said dryly, disregard showing. Grant at this point saw where Violet gets her tendencies from, believing his daughters remark a little bit more.

Grant would explode from her response. "YOU HAVE SOME NERVE TO SAY SOMETHING AS COLD AS THAT, THEN SAY THAT OUR DAUGHTER IS THE BRAT?"

Kathleen grabbed the bottle of Jim Beam on the table, throwing it near his head and causing it to splatter on the wall.

"WATCH YOUR MOUTH, GRANT!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CLEANED OUT IN COURT!!!"

Grant froze up. "What are you implying?"

"I'm implying that i will file for divorce if needed. All of your assets, barring the company would have to be split in the divorce. Sure, you can earn it back, but it's going to be a hard way to climb back up."

Violet gasped. She felt on the fence about the situation. On one hand, she genuinely didn't have much love for her mom, and the feeling was clearly mutual. She would be happier if it was just her and Grant. On the other hand, she knew that a giant hole would be in the family. Knowing her mom, she definitely would try to make it hurt for the both of them. Definitely financially, and emotionally.

Grant sighed, not wanting to argue further with his wife. he would leave the room to go speak to Violet, but before he would go he would simply respond.

"What happened to the Kathleen that i once adored..."

Violet heard the door jiggle, quickly going back into her room and pretending as if she didn't hear the sound of her father's heart being broke. Grant would shortly walk into the bedroom, sitting on the side of her bed.

"Violet, hon. I know you have your issues, and i want to help you sort them out. I decided that you need a little structure in your life. That being said, with the exceptions of the weekend, every day for the next two months you are going to volunteer at the Sparkyville General Hospital after school. I'm going to get the sign up process done tonight so you can start by Wednesday."

Violet shot up from her bed in Anger. She is basically losing her free time to help random strangers when she could be out with her friends doing her own activities.

"WAIT WHAT?!? DAD THAT'S NOT FAIR TO ME AND MY TIME!!" Violet argued, but Grant wasn't having any of it.

"It's not fair to the innocent people you disrespect every time you see them as well. It's either that or you lose your phone and car privileges. Pick and choose, Violet."

Violet just was standing there in silence, feeling defeated and not wanting to argue further with her dad after hearing his qualms with her mom. She would just silently nod at him.

"Good choice, Vi. I'm going to go make dinner now, and i'll bring it to you as i think it's a good idea to separate you from your mother for now." Grant would get up and start walking out, but Violet would wrap herself around his waist.

"Are...Are you guys separating?" Violet asked. Grant sighed.

"I don't know, sweetie. But just know that we can and will survive."

Schulz High Parking Lot.

Charlie Brown and Linus were waiting in the car for the others to get here.

"I appreciate you letting Patty come with us, regardless of your history with her." Linus said with a smile, admiring his best friend's willingness to let things go.

"Of course, Linus. She has her flaws, but is genuinely making strides like Lucy to not be like how she was as kids. Besides, i owe you for helping me get together with Trish after being so oblivious to her liking me." Charlie Brown smiled back.

"You do indeed, Casanova." Linus chuckled. Patty (Swanson) and Lucy would take their seats in the back.

"Finally, that day was a fucking mess." Lucy started. "I hate that i had to sit through two classes back to back that were discussing the syllabus!"

"My classes went perfectly fine. I expected worse going off of everyone else's reactions but i guess i pulled the longest straw." Patty would smirk, to Lucy's annoyance.

"Oh, Christ. Save me now from this torment you call high school..." Lucy grumbled.

"Someone finally came to their senses by believing in the Lord." Linus let out a hearty laugh, causing Lucy to give him a punch on the arm.

"Ouch, i was just playing around!" Linus retorted, rubbing his now sore arm.

Finally, Peppermint Patty and Sally would make it into the car next, with Sally sitting in the far back and Peppermint Patty sitting in the middle row with Lucy and Patty Swanson. Charlie would start up the car and make his way out of the parking lot.

Charlie Brown had this bad feeling in his stomach. He could see from his mirror that Sally had her eyes completely darted at Linus and Patty (Swanson). He might need to have a heart to heart with her after they arrive at the diner.

Schroeder and Franklin were right behind them in Franklin's SUV.

"You think Violet is going to be there, Schroeder?" Franklin asked his friend.

"I'd doubt it. She got sent home early by the Principal after the situation with Trish today, or at least from what i've heard and remembered." Schroeder replied.

"Maybe I'll visit her house after school today. Hopefully she isn't barred from having guests over today." Franklin smiled at the thought of hanging out with her again. Schroeder noticed and smirked.

"What's with you and her? Did you two get together yet?" Schroeder's curiosity was peaked.

"N-No! I got to take this stuff slow. I want to at least warm her up to Trish and Chuck before i make my attempts to get with her. We don't need drama, they don't need drama and she definitely doesn't need drama."

"I mean, she seems to thrive on it." Schroeder pointed out.

"Somewhat, but it's something different. I would have to explain it to you when the time is right." Franklin responded, trying not to go that deep into Violet and her 'situation'.

"So, are you and Lucy on good terms yet?" Franklin questioned.

"We are, somewhat." Schroeder began. She finally accepted that i am just not interested in her, and she blew her chances years ago. I am keeping her at arms length temporarily until i can trust her enough to not go back to her old ways.

"I understand where you are coming from, Maestro. I would be like that too if someone has been lusting after me for years like Lucy."

They would pull up in the next lane by Charlie Brown's car. Schroeder rolled the windows down while Franklin honked.

"Chuck, look to your left." Peppermint Patty said.

He would look to see that the two boys were looking at them smug, but caught on quickly.

"You want to get smoked again huh, Franklin?" Charlie Brown returned the look at his two friends.

"Joe's is down one more block. Let's see who makes it there quicker? Unless you are a born again chicken again." Franklin offered, as Schroeder jokingly did the his best impressions of a chicken clucking.

"I'm not sure, what do you think guys?" Charlie Brown asked the others.

"I'm not so sure, Charlie." Linus interjected. "This could be dangerous, not to mention how the police can give us a police ticket-"

Sally would interject. "Don't listen to him Big Brother, leave them in the dust!"

Lucy chimed in. "I'm with Sally, you have to defend all of our honors now!"

Peppermint Patty would give him a look of approval. "You know me, Babe. I'm always down to get extreme."

Linus would look at Patty (Swanson) , hoping she would take his side on this.

"I am simply up for whatever." She responded, wanting to stay neutral on the matter.

"Well, that's three to one then!" Charlie turned back to the SUV.

"You are on!" Charlie Brown responded, now revving the engine

Both cars would wait for the light. Linus would close his eyes, praying to whatever higher deity that was up in the atmosphere.

There would be a silence, with the only sounds in the air being the engines, and the music that was on low volume.

Just as the light turned green, Linus waited for the feeling of the wind hitting them, and the car accelerating, but it never came.

Franklin's car was long gone down to the Diner, and Charlie followed after him at a normal pace, laughing as loud as he could, with everyone, Barring Sally and Linus joining in..

"W-What just happened???" Linus asked, pinching himself to see if he way dreaming. Am i in heaven???"

"No, but you sure thought you were about to go to it!" Charlie Brown said after getting his laughter out. "You'd think i'd risk the life of my bestie, my love, my sister, AND my close friends for some simple validation?" He would put a hand on his own chest, acting dramatically hurt. "The audacity, man."

"You should have seen your own face!" Lucy was getting one hell of a kick from this.

"If it makes you feel any better, i thought he was genuinely going to do it, Liny." Patty (Swanson) said, trying to calm down her boyfriend's nerves.

Sally would just be annoyed by the whole ordeal. She was hoping to get some sort of sick kick out of seeing her crush get a taste of his own medicine, even though he didn't deserve it. At least she was slightly touched by how her brother confirmed that he wouldn't put her in harm's way.

"Good one, Chuck! I knew that once you eventually grew that backbone, things would be more entertaining around here in this deadbeat city!" Peppermint Patty would give her boyfriend a quick peck on the cheek from the backseat.

"I hate you all, so so much." Linus could simply say, trying to get his heartbeat back at a steady pace.

They would pull up to the diner, pulling up into the parking space next to Franklin's car.

"Okay, gang. Everyone hop out, except for you Sally. Come up front, I still got to take you to Eudora's. ." Charlie told to everyone. "Linus, do me a favor and tell Franklin and Schroeder that i will be there in a second."

Sally got out of the car to move up to the passenger seat. Once she was buckled in, he pulled out of the parking lot and started making his way over.

After a couple minutes of driving, Charlie broke the awkward silence.

"Sally.." Charlie Brown started. "Talk to me about it."

"I don't know what you are talking about." She lied.

"Come on Sally, you haven't been acting like yourself since he hooked up with her. I know you are jealous of them."

"I am not!" Sally defended. "I just am simply disturbed at the fact that they are a couple."

"That's the near exact definition of jealousy."

"That's the point. I'm not jealous, i'm near jealous." Sally retorted.

"Good grief..." Charlie Brown facepalmed.

"Why do you suddenly care?" Sally asked, patience starting to run low.

"Because you are my sister, and Linus is my best friend. I love you both and it just hurts to see you two not get along." Charlie Brown swiftly responds.

"You don't have to worry about me, Big Bro. We will get along once he's mine." Sally said, acting as if that wasn't a red flag.

"That's the exact thing i am talking about, Sally. He's not your property to just put dibs on. He was a man who was free to mingle with whoever he saw fit, and now he's with her. Mind you, he stopped showing interest in you when you started acting very clingy and possessive of him. I don't want to say it but, you missed your wind-"

"I DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING, CHARLIE! NOW PLEASE...just please take me to Eudora's house."

Charlie was going to yell back at her, wanting to push the conversation further, but remembered that his sister was going through it. He even could see the tears starting to form in her eyes. He didn't want to make the situation worst unintentionally.

Holt Residence

They would pull up at the house. Sally quickly unbuckled her seatbelt , but Charlie would gently grab her arm before she could get out of the car.

"Before you go, just know that i love you. I don't want to hurt you, but this conversation isn't over yet."

Charlie let go as soon as he got what he needed to say out. Sally looked at him. She knew that he cared and wanted nothing but the best for her, but in this particular situation didn't want to believe in the harsh truth.

"Just. Just get back to to the diner, Big Brother." She would get out of the car, slamming the door and running up to Eudora's porch.

Charlie would give her another glance, before driving back off to meet up with his friends. He honestly felt out of the mood to even hangout now, as he felt he screwed up big time with Sally.

"Damn it! I should have just waited for the right time to bring it up.."

Joe's Diner

After a couple minutes of driving, deciding to take the long route to put himself in a better mindspace before rejoining into his social circle. Charlie would park at the diner, going into the diner to meet his friends who had a booth in the corner of the dining room.

"Took you long enough to get back, you Chicken!" Schroeder chuckled.

"Oh har-de-har Schroeder." Charlie sarcastically responded.

He would take a seat between Peppermint Patty and Lucy.

"Took you long enough to get back, Blockhead. I haven't ate since breakfast."

"You could have eaten lunch, y'know?" Linus retorted.

"Why would i eat school food? It's the worst food you can get outside of jail."

"Toùche." Linus and Franklin both agreed.

Patty (Swanson) would be the first one to notice the seemingly bad mood that fell apon Charlie Brown. She had an unsure feeling that he and Sally had a pretty bad conversation. "You okay, Charlie? You seem down in the dumps."

All eyes at the table would dart onto him, giving Charlie Brown the floor to speak. "Me and Sally didn't have the best conversation, but i am still determined to sort out this twisted drama between her , you and Linus." He would give a faint smile, before his lips went straight again. "I just want everyone to be fine, especially her."

Linus would reach over to give his buddy a reassuring pat. "We will be, Charlie Brown. Let's just give her some time for now. I'm sure she will come to her senses."

"At least i hope she will. " Patty thought in her mind.

"Thanks, Linus. I guess i will take your advice." Charlie would smile again, feeling better just by the support of his best friend. They would all chat, catching up about the recent two weeks since they all seen each other, how school went for everyone today, how they were splitting the bill, other stuff.

They would all depart and Charlie would drop everyone off, except for Peppermint Patty, who decided to stay over at his house for the night.

Brown Residence.

Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty were relaxing in his room, cuddling on his bed as hard rock played on his small radio. It seemed like they were both in deep thought. Patty chose to break the silence between them.

"Y'know Chuck, i've been thinking and i want to improve this year when it comes to grades. Especially because i want us to win a championship together, as a couple."

Charlie would look at her with a smile.

"That would be a nice accomplishment for the both of us. It would be even better though if we could both graduate together, instead of being in different alumni classes."

"It's going to be so nice proving everyone wrong, then escaping this stupid town. I don't know where we will go, but far from here for sure." She smirked, imagining the moment of freedom, finally being on her own. She enjoyed living with her father, but it's time for her to leave the next, so to speak

"I'm curious..." Charlie Brown sprung the question. what suddenly made you feel so inspired? Ever since i stopped going to Lucy, i need to find advice from other people."

"And I'm your first choice?" Peppermint Patty questioned back. "Well, maybe because you are rubbing off on me a little. You always struggled, and you somehow come out on top. You have a heart that i wish i had."

He would feel touched by her words, feeling a crimson red blush form onto his face. "I was wrong to spend years going after Heather, when you were literally right there. Imagine if we were a couple since we were eight instead of fiftteen. "

"Don't even sweat it, Chuck. All that matters is that we're together now, and hopefully forever."

"Only time will tell, but im sure it will be." Charlie gave her a peck on the lips.

"Alright! Enough of the sappy shit." Peppermint Patty stated, internally not wanting it to end but needed to get some rest. "Let's get to bed. I don't want to be tired." She pulled the covers around them both. "Night, Clyde."

"Night, Bonnie."

They would both fall asleep in each other's arms, forgetting about all their current problems, and dreaming off to their own respective fantasies.
