The sound of something breaking a branch caught his attention but he ignored it as he tried to let himself fall asleep, the only light for miles was the light of the lantern that was inside the carriage and he had already made sure that none of it could be seen from the outside.
The chances of running into bandits or anyone were low, after all only a fool would ever try to travel by foot or carriage during the winter, it was funny because the three of them were doing that.
He could hear the wind blowing outside before he began to shiver from the cold, his eyes became heavier and heavier until he found himself standing before his younger brother Tyrion in his hand he held a strange black sword.
Tyrion looked at him with rage-filled eyes that weren't born of hate, but betrayal.
He tried to call his brother, but his words failed him as a massive beast with glowing yellow eyes stood behind Tyrion ready to burn the two of them alive.
Jaime opened his eyes and found himself back in the carriage looking at the two women once more. 'It was just another dream." he says to himself, before closing his eyes again.
He found himself in what looked like the Iron Throne his hands were covered in blood, and he could hear the screams of the frightened servants who begged for mercy and the knights who roared as they fought for their lives.
Yet it was the eyes of the people around him that struck something deep inside him.
There was no admiration, pride, or even the desire to defeat him in battle, just a bunch of eyes filled with disgust, he could hear someone loudly calling him something, but he couldn't hear what it was.
The sound of the horse let out a cry filled with fear pulled from his dream and forced him to wake up as the sound of wolves howling in the distance.
Jaime had to calm himself down as he reached for the door of the carriage. There were no wolves this close to the city, meaning that what he heard was either a pack of wild dogs or things were getting worse and the wolves were forced to move south.
The horse screamed in terror then Jaime heard something like wings moving in the air before the horse screamed again, and the creature roared.
The horse gave one final cry of pain and terror before the sounds of its body being torn open and eaten filled the carriage.
Jaime moved quickly and covered the queen and princess's mouths with his hands so that neither of them made any noise.
As far as the beast outside knew, the carriage was nothing more than an empty wooden box.
The three looked at each other and it was only now that Jaime understood that he wasn't escorting the people that he once believed.
These were just a pair of high-born women, not the Targaryen of old and certainly not the mad rulers of the kingdom that he had learned to respect and fear, no matter how crazy or selfish their orders were.
The carriage shook and Jaime didn't know if the beast had taken an interest in it, or if the carriage had just gotten in the creature's way.
Still, he kept his hands on both women's mouths and waited until everything had gone back to being quiet.
They would have to walk until they bought or stole another horse Jaime would have laughed at his situation, but he didn't.
Here he was escorting the Queen and Princes, but where he as he taking them?
Not to the castle or somewhere far away for them to negotiate with a foreign ruler, but to a place where they will no longer be who they are.
Jaime couldn't help but feel as if the carriage that he was in was bigger than his whole world at the moment.
Jaime finally let go of both women's faces and sat back down, before closing his eyes again, if they left the carriage now, they would either be eaten or freeze, so he closed his eyes and tried to sleep again.

"Lady Please you are a guest." Lyanna heard one of the maids say to someone.
"None sense, I am a guest, I am already eating your food and drinking your water. I can at the very least help you prepare breakfast." She heard someone answer the maid, but she couldn't figure out who the voice belonged to.
So she decided to enter the kitchen and see what was going on, normally she wouldn't have come here, not because she didn't like the smell of the place, but because there was nothing for her to do.
Still, she opened the door and found that someone was cooking in the kitchen who shouldn't have been there.
It was Lady Asuna, the woman who had come to visit her father in hopes of forging a peace agreement between the wall and the rest of the north.
She could see that the maids that surrounded the woman looked at her worriedly, but their worry soon passed as the woman skillfully cut, skinned, boid, and fried both the meats and vegetables.
The woman's hands were quick as every time she used the knife to cut into a piece of meat that was still attached to a bone, she would remove all of the meat and leave the bone untouched.
Near her was the girl that she had brought with her and Lyanna could see how the girl eagerly watched as her mother worked.
"Lady Asuna if you don't mind me asking, how did you learn to cook?" one of the maids asks Asuna.
'Oh,. I learned after I met Kirito."
"You see he was sent into one fight after another and would come back home exhausted, so I learned to cook so that he would always have a reason to run back home." Asuna answers the maid.
"What did she mean by sent to one fight after another?" Lyanna asks herself in a low voice.
'She means that he had to prove himself by fighting and living through whatever mess needed to be dealt with." Benjin whispers into her ear.
Lyanna can't help but push her brother away as a shiver passes through her, she glares at Benjin who enjoys her reaction.
