As soon as the Timekeeper blows her sousaphone the two sides quickly charge into the other's territory.
"Capture the flag!" Craig shouts as everyone charges and waits for their chance to continue.
"I gotta help my brother!" Paintball Mike says hearing his brother is in trouble over the walkie talkie.
"We need to stick to the plan. If we rush in there all at once the creek is as good as gone." Craig says as Paintball Mike's brother continues to say how bad the situation is.
"I'm coming for you Benny!" Paintball Mike shouts as he runs off.
"This is not off to a good start." Alexis says.
"I know. Just be prepared for anything." Omar says as Alexis nods.
"Let's get our creek back." Alexis says determinedly.
"Phase two! Junk Lord, Toman you're up!" Craig shouts sternly.
"Heh. I thought you'd never ask peanut head." Toman says as he and Junk lord leave before the group quickly uses the distract Toman, Junk lord, Faraday and Wren to begin breaking off into their assigned teams.
*Timeskip*
"Okay Omar. We're through." Craig says as he comes in on the walkie talkie.
"So are we." Omar says as the group makes it into the sewer.
"All accounted for as well." Alexis says as she smiles.
"Thanks Sewer Queen. We got it from here. Bobby, Sparkle Cadet, Alexis are you ready?" Omar asks as he looks at the group.
"Always. I'm ready to start biting back for our creek." Alexis says as she shifts to wolf form and smiles.
"Of course. I've got my bubble wand and even more dangerous a positive attitude." Sparkle Cadet says happily.
"And I've got my candy." Bobby says happily as he holds a piece of candy.
*Timeskip*
"All clear!" Omar says as the group makes it to their destination.
"A stone fortress?" Sparkle Cadet asks seeing the fort.
"Looks like it's in ruins." Alexis says.
"I can't see any flag from here. Could be hidden. Luckily I brought some licorice rope with me. It was supposed to be a snack but-" Bobby then gets cut off by Alexis as she looks and sees someone on the fort.
"Oh no. Bobby watch out!" Alexis shouts as she grab Bobby and pulls him out of the way of a water balloon as the group takes cover behind the trees.
"Thanks Alexis. What was that?" Bobby asks.
"It's Jackie. A.K.A. The Arm. His aim is impeccable. I don't know how we're gonna get any closer without getting a balloon to the butt." Omar says.
"Well anybody got any bright ideas?" Alexis asks.
"I got one." Sparkle Cadet says as she smiles.
*Timeskip*
"Super sparkle shining barrier!" Sparkle Cadet shouts as she makes a large bubble barrier cover.
"You did it Sparkle! With this bubble cover we can find another way up and-" Omar then gets cut off as balloons shoot through the barrier.
"Ah! Retreat! Back to trees! Fast! Man he's good. How are we gonna get past him?" Alexis asks as everyone scatters back to cover.
"We're never gonna be able to get up there and look for the flag as long as The Arm holds the high ground. If only there was a way to get above him." Omar says angrily.
"Hey Sparkle. How big a bubble can you make?" Bobby asks before Sparkle Cadet places him inside a bubble and uses this to get the upper hand on Jackie before attacking Jackie allowing them into the fortress to look for the flag.
*Timeskip*
"This is team green, explorer, sparkle, candy. We've secured the Wisteria base but the flag isn't here." Omar says as he talks on the walkie talkie.
"This is team warp warriors. The flag wasn't here and our team paid the price." Kelsey says.
"Oh glitter. But hey I guess that means it must be with Craig." Sparkle Cadet says.
"Let's hope things are still going smoothly then for the others more than they are for us." Alexis says.
"Well I know one thing. The flag definitely isn't here with team itchy babies." J.P. says.
"And neither is ours." Josh says.
"What!?" Alexis, Omar, and Kelsey ask in alarm.
"Maya took the flag. We tried but our efforts we're not enough to stop her from getting the flag." Josh says.
"Someone has to stop her before she reaches the overpass." J.P. says before Alexis and Omar take off running.
"This is bad. Kelsey can you get there? Alexis and I are on our way but we might not make it in time." Omar says before he and Alexis hear Kelsey talking to herself.
"Kelsey listen to me. I know you're scared. We're all scared. Just because you've never beat Maya before doesn't mean you're not a brave warrior and hero. Always winning the fight isn't what makes a hero. What makes a hero is never going down without a fight. That's what a hero is. Fighting for what you care about without backing down even when it's scary." Alexis says.
"Alexis is right. Just try. If not for yourself but the creek. We'll be there as soon as we can. Just hold on until we get there to help." Omar says.
*Timeskip*
As the group arrives they soon spot Kelsey struggling against Maya and quickly arrive to help.
"Omar? I see you also brought your wolf sister with you." Maya says.
"That's right. Don't worry Kelsey. We're here to help." Alexis says as she helps Kelsey to her feet.
"How did you get here so fast?" Kelsey asks curiously.
"We got a ride from an old friend." Omar says as Alexis nods.
"Hey. Guess who passed driver's ed?" Michelle says as she lands beside the group dressed as a green poncho.
"The original green poncho?" Kelsey asks in surprise.
"You think a wrinkly old teenagers gonna help beat me? Same with some wolf explorer girl?" Maya asks as she chuckles.
"I'm not that old." Michelle says.
"You also don't know everything about people like you may think. I've kept this secret long enough. It's time I stopped hiding it. I'm not just some ordinary wolf Maya and I'd rather give everything to protect our creek then protect a secret I should no longer have to hide from the kids I play with. They deserve to know the true me." Alexis says as she shifts to wolf form as plants form around her paws while growling at Maya.
"Well that explains a lot. Still I'm going to get past you all. One way or another." Maya says determinedly.
"Maya you don't have to fight." Omar says.
"Maybe you don't Omar. You have nothing left to lose." Maya says as she engages in battle with the group. As the group is fighting Maya soon breaks Omar's bow before throwing Alexis, Omar, and Kelsey back to beside Michelle.
"I don't need your advice or sympathy! I just need you to get out of my way! Now! Move aside!" Maya shouts as she throws the broken bow at Omar.
"Not a chance Maya!" Alexis says as she snarls and stands up.
"What are we gonna do? If she gets under the overpass the game is over." Kelsey says in alarm.
"Hey Omar. Toss me that bow. Wolfy can you shift back to being a human and let me borrow that ribbon you're using as a hairbow?" Michelle asks as she looks at the group.
"By all means." Alexis says as she smiles and shifts back to human form before giving Michelle her ribbon as Michelle then makes a large bow before she, Alexis, and Omar pull it back to launch as Kelsey stands ready.
"Man I miss the creek." Michelle says happily.
"Save the reminiscing for year book club. Let's do this." Omar says.
"Fire!" Kelsey shouts as the group launches her as she then attacks Maya getting her to drop the flag.
"Well that worked." Alexis says as she smiles.
"Hand over the flag." Kelsey says sternly.
"I'm not giving up this flag. I can't let the king down. I can't let our side down. If we lose then there is no king and there is no BFF! And if there's no BFF... Who am I? Just someone who betrayed their best friend for nothing." Maya says as she begins crying.
"Maya I know how you feel. I spent three summers standing on that overpass but there was so many other things I would of rather been doing instead of being mad at you. We can't get those summers back but it doesn't mean this summer has to be a waste." Omar says before the group hears commotion and sees Xavier on top of Craig in the water before seeing Craig has gotten the blue flag over to their side of the creek as timekeeper then blows her sousaphone ending the game as everyone cheers happily. As Alexis turns she soon spots Omar out of his poncho and staring at Maya's cape floating on a tree branch in the wind and goes over to him.
"You know we could try and look for her? She might not wanna listen but we can at least try to show her what it's like on our side." Alexis says as Omar looks at her.
"You'd really be willing to do that? Maya's my problem Alexis. Not yours. Keun Sup and Jackie on the other hand well that's more your thing." Omar says as Alexis chuckles.
"Omar I would do anything to help. You know that. Besides I wanna better put my wolf side to use now that I'm not hiding anymore from everyone. Now as far as Jackie and Keun Sup I'll cross that bridge when I come to it." Alexis says as she shifts to wolf form happily as Omar smiles.
"What would I do without you? Thanks Alexis. It'll take time but I'm sure between the two of us we can find her and lead her down a better path." Omar says as Alexis smiles.
"It seems I was right. Time would tell. I told you things would work out." A voice says revealing to be Josh.
"Josh! We did it! And yeah you were right." Alexis shouts happily as she runs over and nuzzles Josh's hand.
"I know. I'm glad. But I do believe you have two more to talk to." Josh says as he gestures to Keun Sup and Jackie as they are walking over.
"We'll let you have your privacy." Omar says as he and Josh walk off.
"Wait. Don't leave me with them." Alexis says in a hushed voice before seeing Jackie and Keun Sup walk up to her.
"Hey Alexis." Keun Sup says as Jackie signs to Alexis while smiling.
"Hey... Jackie, Keun Sup." Alexis says as she gives an unthrilled look as Jackie makes a bunch of hand signs.
"Jackie says that since you guys won the flag war I guess that we can go back to being friends finally. I agree. Now we don't have Xavier to worry about anymore." Keun Sup says.
"Yeah. Right." Alexis says annoyedly receiving sad looks from Jackie and Keun Sup.
"Are you still mad at us? We thought you got over that." Keun Sup says.
"Look I have to go. I need to go find my brother and friends." Alexis says as she goes over to Omar as the kids gather.
"Listen everybody! The creek is special. It's a place where kids can play how they want. We don't need a king to tell us how to do that because the creek belongs to all of us." Craig says as he tears the flag in two much to the other kids joy.
*Timeskip*
"Ah! Feels good to be back in the old stumpy." J.P. says as the group is in the stump with Omar.
"Even more good knowing we'll be able to play together how we want." Alexis says.
"Yeah and to make new friends while doing it." Omar says as he smiles.
"So we've triumphantly vanquished tyranny from the creek! What now?" Kelsey asks.
"Well now that the king's gone there's a whole other side of the creek to explore." Craig says as he opens his map on the floor.
