Big was at Station Square lying in the grass as the confetti fell in celebration.
"Hey. Froggy. It sure is a nice day." he said and opened his eyes to see a large burst in the sky: Chaos Control. "That's pretty..."
At a house an elderly couple were washing dishes when suddenly the house shook and a small house now landed on top of their house.
At the White House Chuck and Chris were in the Oval Office with the President, Christina Cooper, and a guard. The screen behind her was showing several small houses.
"There have been five more confirmed reports, Mr. President. It seems that most of the buildings have landed in parts of the city closest to Mystic Ruin." Christina said.
"Great. And what about all the creatures they found inside?" the president said.
Then the screen showed several animals from Sonic's world. A Flicky was front and center.
"The bird-like ones are known as Flickies, sir." she said.
"And I'm assuming they all came from the same world as Sonic. Right, Professor Thorndyke?"
"Yep. It would appear that way." Chuck said.
"I see. Now then, I'm sure you must be wondering why I asked for you and your grandson here this afternoon."
"You're worried about the arrival of these creatures. You're thinking you need to separate them from humans. You're concerned there'll be trouble between two such different species unless they're... dealt with." Chuck said then the TV turned off.
"We wish we didn't have to. It's just-" Christina said.
"Don't apologize." Chuck said and she looked up. "We understand your situation completely." he said but Chris looked depressed.
Meanwhile Knuckles and Rouge were in Station Square atop a building, looking down at the city.
"Have you heard? A couple more friends from back home dropped in. Seems every day is like a regular reunion around here. 'Course, if too many of us start showing up, the humans aren't gonna be too happy. They'll probably decide we're dangerous and round us all up. Imagine us... together." Rouge said and approached Knuckles. "24/7... My, I wonder that'd be like, don't you?"
"Get this straight! I'd rather live in solitary confinement than with you!" Knuckles said.
"Don't get so excited, sweetie. I'm only saying that the authorities won't like our kind around. Believe me, I don't like the idea of being locked up any more than you do. I should have realized that the welcome mat wouldn't be out forever."
"Yeah. Too good to be true. One day they love us because we're unique, and the next day we're in jail because we're different. Well, they won't take me without a fight."
'And with help from Aleena, Sonic, Manic and or Sonia.' he thought.
"Now that's the right attitude. Oh well, we'll just have to make the best of it." she said and walked to the other side of him. "When they come to get us, I hope you're around to protect me." she said and flapped her wings and hovered above him. "Well, I'm off. Oh, and there's just one more thing."
"What's that?"
"I hope we share a cell." she said and flew away, leaving him blushing again and shaking his fist.
"You're batty!" he said. "And I already have a girlfriend!"
Later that night, Chris was at the pier, looking out at the ocean thinking. Chuck was standing by the car nearby.
"Don't know about you, Chris, but I'm pretty hungry. Why don't we go home and have a little of Ella's-" Chuck said but was cut off.
"Grandpa? ... I've been thinking... about what the President said?... Do you really think they're gonna... take Sonic away?" Chris asked and Chuck walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "I mean... she's different, but why should that matter? Deep down, she's just like you and me."
"I know... I know... " Chuck said and they looked at the ocean together.
In a building near the pier, Vector was growing impatient.
"Leave it to Charmy to take his own sweet time gettin' here!" Vector said.
"I'd say we've got more important things to worry about. Like where we are, for instance, and how did the three of us get here in the first place, and how do we get back." Espio said.
"Your guess is as good as mine, Espio. I'm just as confused as you are. Did we travel through time somehow? Or space, maybe?"
"Which one do you think happened?"
"What difference does it make? All that matters is that we're stuck here! And since we're stuck here, we ought to concentrate on a bigger question."
"What's that?"
"Why is half of the moon missing?!" Vector asked then Charmy burst into the cabin.
"Hey! Wait'll you hear, Vector!" Charmy said and flew onto Vector's snout. "You won't believe it in a million trillion years!"
"What won't I believe?" Vector asked.
"We got blown to a whole different world!" Charmy said and held up a newspaper. "And the proof's right here in this newspaper!"
"Charmy..."
"See?"
"Charmy!"
"Uh-huh?"
"Will. You. Get. Off. My. Nose?!" Vector asked so Charmy got off of him.
"All right. Where are we, Charmy?" Eslio asked.
"I don't know." Charmy said and Vector angrily pounded his hands on the desk.
"Gaaahhh! I ask you to do one simple thing!" Vector said and Charmy wagged his finger at him. "Your assignment was to find out where we are!" he said angry and Charmy propped his mouth open with the newspaper.
"Never mind that! Just look at this!" Charmy said and took out the paper. "Oops, sorry."
"This better be good."
"Here!" Charmy said and showed him the correct article, which showed an image of Sonic.
"What?" Vector said and took the newspaper from Charmy. "Well, if it ain't our old friend Sonic! Let's see here... "Sonic Saves the Day Again."... Sonic the Hedgehog rescued the world from catastrophe once again when she nimbly prevented a long-forgotten space station, the Space Colony ARK, from crashing into the planet yesterday."
A shot is shown of Super Sonic and Super Shadow trying to prevent the space colony from crashing into the earth.
"Here we go!" Super Sonic said.
"Chaos!" Super Shadow said.
"Control!"
In a brilliant display of light, they used Chaos Control to send the colony back into orbit. Shadow was nowhere to be seen. The timer was frozen at 00:00:50:29. The people celebrated in the streets as confetti fell.
"This is just the latest in a series of amazing rescues that have kept the famously speedy hedgehog in the news." Vector narrated.
Shots of Sonic on TV were shown. Then hwe arrival on Earth was shown.
"Since first arriving in Station Square under mysterious circumstances some time ago. Sonic has shown a remarkable aptitude for heroism against increasingly dangerous odds. Through his use of supersonic speed, agility, strength, and just plain smarts, Sonic the Hedgehog has become famous the world over for daring deeds and fast-footed feats." Vector said reading.
Now the shot changed to Sonic racing to the rescue in Missile Wrist Rampage. She raced up a skyscraper to take on E-23 Missile Wrist.
"Hurry! Fire!" Eggman said.
Missile Wrist fired five rockets at Sonic, which exploded at her location. However, she rolled out of the smoke, completely unfazed by the attack. She spun past and above a surprised Eggman and Missile Wrist.
"Fire away!"
Missile Wrist tried to fire its tethered missile hands at Sonic, but she danced from hand to hand, even making faces.
"Wise guy! I'll show you!"
"Sonic! Try the old "slap on the wrist"!" Knuckles said smiling.
"Yeah!" Sonic said and rode the next missile hand back to its owner.
She made a face, which prompts Missile Wrist to smash him with its other hand. She leapt into the air, and the impact of the two handed colliding with each other causes them to be destroyed.
"Bye!" she said.
"Fire!" Eggman said and Missile Wrist fired six rockets at her, which exploded in her area. "Hah-haaaah!"
But she spun down out of the smoke.
"Heheheh!" she said and spun right through the heart of Missile Wrist, causing it to crackle.
Eggman stared in shock before Missile Wrist finally exploded, raining debris everywhere.
The flashback changed to Station Square celebrating Sonic's victory over Eggman.
"Sonic has shown that truth, honor, and goodness can and will triumph every time!" he narrated and the flashback end.
Vector ripped the newspaper in half.
"So Sonic's a big hero! What a laugh riot!" he said.
"You're just jealous 'cause you're not famous like Sonic is." Charmy said.
"Knock it off, Charmy. We'll be famous soon." Espio said.
At Eggman's old base a rocket launched from the ruins.
At the White House one of the President's aides got off the phone with someone.
"Mr. President, we've just received word that a missile has been launched from Dr. Eggman's undersea base." Aide said.
"Huh? Find out where it's headed right away!" the president said.
At a military base.
"Mr. President, we have confirmation from Central Command One." Agent said.
Back at the White House the aide reported this news.
"The missile is headed for the moon!" he said.
"I should have known." the president said.
"Mr. President!"
"Yes, what's happening?"
"It's Dr. Eggman! He's on the TV phone!"
Eggman's rocket is shown jettisoning its external fuel tanks whilst travelling to the moon.
"Ah, good evening, sir. I wanted to apologize for that nasty ARK business. That was so unfortunate. And to show you how very sorry I am to have caused such a calamity, I thought I would offer to mend the moon free of charge. It's the least I can do." he said.
"That's... good news, Eggman." the president said,
"Getting it perfectly round won't be easy, but with a little luck and a whole lot of elbow grease, I'll have it patched up in a jiffy. Okay?" Eggman said and the call ended.
"Can we trace that?" Aide asked the technician.
"He certainly is full of surprises, isn't he?" the president said.
"You don't really think he wants to repair the damage, do you, Mr. President?" Christina asked.
"I don't know what to think anymore."
"You did? You traced the call?" Aid asked the technician.
"That was quick. Get Eggman back on the line right away!"
The aide listened as the technician told him where the call came from.
"Yes... Mhm... Answering machine? But we just talked to him! Send some agents over there and grab him!" Aide said and the president shrugged.
"I wonder if we can trust him..." Christina said.
On the moon Eggman's rocket arrived at the moon, and soon metal started to form the broken half of the moon. The repairs were complete in record time.
In Thorndyke Mansion living room Chuck, Ella, Tanaka, Tails, and Cream were watching the news.
"It appears the moon has been repaired by the notorious Dr. Eggman." News reporter said.
"Is it true it only took him ten minutes?" Tails asked.
"I have to admit, he's some scientist." Chuck said.
"I don't know. I think it looks kind of funny, don't you?" Cream said.
Then Amy entered and stood in front of the TV.
"Oh, who cares about some silly old moon? Where's Sonic?" she said.
Elsewhere.
Sonic, was running, when she noticed the repaired moon.
"Whoa..." she said. "What did you just do?"
In the Chaotix's office the sun was just beginning to rise.
"Ahh, today's the say we solve the case." Vector said.
"Oh yeah? What makes you so sure?" Espio asked.
"Espio's right. What makes you think you can solve it today, Vector?" Charmy said.
Vector chuckled and turned around, then back to the others now wearing a pair of glasses.
"Elementary, my dear Charmy. It just takes some clever sleuthing. I'm Detective Vector!" he said.
"Sure you're Detective Vector. You're also nuts." Espio said.
"I think he's been reading too many detective stories again..." Charmy said.
"Ahh... That's very interesting." Vector said and wagged his finger.
"Here he goes again..." Espio said.
"Oh, brother..." Charmy said while Vector now dons a detective's jacket.
"One more t'ing." Vector said.
"How long are you gonna keep this up, anyway?" Espio asked and leaned in Vector's face.
"All right. The kid we're lookin' for got sent into this world from ours by Chaos Control, just like Sonic. And I think the hedgehog's behind it."
"And you know that for a fact."
"I got my intuition, and that's good enough for me."
"You got a hunch, Vector?" Charmy said.
"I told you before, Charmy; it's not a hunch, it's intuition! With a capital "Int!"" Vector said and laughed.
Outside Thorndyke Manor the Chaotix were outside the mansion. Vector peered through the window through a pair of binoculars and saw Cream interacting with Cheese.
"Uh-huh. Bingo. See what I mean. The ol' intuition never fails." Vector said.
"I have to hand it to you. It didn't take you long to find that hedgehog's hideaway." Espio said.
"She had some help. It was listed on this map of stars' homes." Charmy said.
"You mean a star lives here?"
"From what I dug up, Sonic's been layin' low with this kid whose mom's a real live big-time movie celeb." Vector said.
"Bah."
"Sure, leave it to Sonic to mingle with a bunch of mental movie people. So shallow."
"You're jealous?" Charmy said.
"You bet. ... Who asked you, Charmy?!"
"Hahaha, I got you that time, didn't I?"
"Never mind that. Let's get back to the job at hand. We got ourselves a damsel in distress to rescue here!"
"Well, at least we know where she is. Now all you have to do is figure out some way to get into that house." Espio said.
Charmy was now looking through the binoculars.
"That's right, pal! But it's gonna be kinda tricky. They probably got lots of fancy-shmancy security equipment." Vector said.
"Here, take a look! A big scary security guard!" Charmy said.
Vector took the binoculars from him and looked through them to see Ella in the window behind Cream.
"Ahh! Check out the beast in the ruffly apron!"
Just then Ella glanced in their direction. Vector pushed Espio and Charmy down into the bushes.
"What do we do?! Should we run for it?!" Charmy said.
"Are you crazy? We can't turn back!" Vector said.
"Don't forget: we're here on a mission." Espio said.
At Station Square Sonic stopped running when she saw Eggman on a cliff outside of the city overlooking the city, and his Eggmobile was next to him.
"Eggman!" Sonic said.
"Sonic." Eggman said. "Well, well. It's a beautiful afternoon, isn't it?"
Back outside the mansion Espio used his invisibility and appeared outside the living room window. Charmy waved.
"Atta boy. I should have known with those nifty ninja tricks of his, he could sneak with the best of 'em!" Vector said.
In the living room Amy was upset that Sonic hadn't returned. The others were resting on the couch.
"Where is she? She told me she'd be back today at noon sharp." she said.
"Must have lost track of time." Tails said and Amy drew her hammer and swung it back and forth.
"Oh yeah? Well, this is the last time she's gonna keep me waiting!"
"Amy..." Chris said uncomfortable.
Suddenly Amy's hammer struck the invisible Espio outside the window.
"Uh-oh. It feels like I just hit something." Amy said.
Outside the inside sent Espio flying into the branches of a tree causing him to become visible and fell out of the tree.
"Hey, you okay?" Vector asked and Espio groaned in pain.
"I... think so... But she sure can swing a mean mallet." Espio said then Vector picked him up.
"Poor Espio..." Charmy said.
"Sly, aren't they?" Vector said.
"What'cha gonna do?"
"Just you wait, Charmy! We'll give them a fight they'll never forget!"
"All right!" Charmy said excited and laughed.
Back on the cliff of Station Square.
"You're in a good mood all of a sudden. What are you up to?" Sonic asked.
"Nothing. I've simply had a change of heart. I know it may surprise you, Sonic, but even egg-centric geniuses like myself have hearts." Eggman said.
"That so?"
"I kid you not. It isn't easy being an evil madman. It's hard work." he said. "Especially when you've been fighting the same person since she was little."
"I don't buy it."
"I really mean it, Sonic. Building evil robots to do my bidding... creating a Chaos creature just for kicks... Sometimes I think, "What's the point?" Maybe I should just chuck it and retire somewhere far, far away."
"You might have something there, Eggman." she said. "But I still don't trust you." she said and he chuckled.
"Can't you just see it, Sonic? Goodbye world domination, hello shuffleboard." he said and she briefly closed her eyes.
"Hey, are you on the level here, or is this just another one of your schemes?" she asked and a figure appeared behind them.
"Excuse me..." someone said and she turned around and immediately recognizes the figure.
"It can't be..."
Back at Thorndyke Manor Vector and Charmy were in the living room.
"What do you weirdos want?" Tails asked.
"You know what we want! Drop the innocent act, kiddo." Vector said.
"Give up!" Charmy said.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Tails said.
"Tails, do you know these two?" Chris asked and Tails shook his head.
"I've never seem them before in my life, Chris."
"Quit your stallin', will ya? Now hand over that little bunny or else!" Vector said.
"Yeah! Or else!" Charmy said.
"Sorry, sir, but where would you take me?" Cream asked.
"Ch-chao!" Cheese said.
"You don't think we'd let them take you!" Ella said.
"Just asking." Cream said.
"Whaaah! There's the bodyguard monster!" Vector said and picked up Charmy and aimed his stinger at the group. "We'll get you! Charmy, get ready!"
"Wha... Uh..." Charmy said.
"All right, you creeps! You asked for it!" Amy said.
Then the fight began. Espio had a sizable bruise on his head.
"Take that!" they all said.
Just then Sonic entered the room.
"What's going on here?" she asked and Tails poked his head out of the fight cloud.
"Sonic, help us! We're being attacked!" he said but Vector shoved him back.
"Well, looks who's here! If it ain't Sonic the kidnapper!" Vector said.
"I'm no kidnapper, pal!" Sonic said.
Then the mystery figure appeared in the doorway. She was Vanilla the Rabbit, Cream's mother.
"It's... It's you!" Vector said.
"How nice to see you again, Detective." Vanilla said.
"Hey look, Cream. Someone's here to see ya." Sonic said smiling and Cream turned around and saw who it was.
"I've finally found... my baby!" Vanilla said.
Cream was overwhelmed.
"Mo... M... Mo..." she started then embraced in a big hug.
"Oh, my baby!"
The others watched the joyful reunion.
"Cream's mother." Chris said to Sonic as they glanced at each other.
"How can I ever repay you, Detective Vector?" Vanilla asked.
"Aww, no sweat." Vector said.
"And thank you, Sonic, for taking such good care of my little girl. I'm so grateful!" she said and Sonic smiled and nodded.
"No problem Vanilla." Sonic said.
"Uh... Grateful? But..." Vector said.
"What did Sonic do?" Charmy asked.
"You remember me, Vector. I'm Sonic the kidnapper." Sonic said.
"Hey, my old pal Sonic! Fancy meeting you here!" Vector said. "Come on, Charmy. We don't want to be late for our next job, do we?" he said to Charmy.
"What's the big rush, Vector? Stick around, why don'cha?"
"Yeah. We were just getting into the swing of things." Amy said.
"Thanks anyway, but time's a-wasting, and I'm busy!" Vector said.
"I detect a little uneasiness, Detective." Sonic said and everyone laughed.
At Station Square Eggman was hovering high above the city in his Eggmobile.
Eggman chuckled.
"Hey... Sounds like quite the party. Laugh while you can, Sonic." he said then flew away.
Outside Thorndyke Mansion Espio was still feeling the pain from Amy's hammer.
"Hey, you guys... Help me out here, will ya?" he said.
