Chapter: 1. stranded alone

Inside an average looking apartment in Fuyuki cities business district, a player was currently sitting comfortably on a Victorian style sofa while flipping through an old tome that detailed the summoning of heroic spirits. She wore a black hooded robe with blue magical runes embroidered on the edges of the fabric over the plain grey wool sweater and a pair of navy-blue jeans that hugged the shape of her legs. She had short snow-white hair with a single low ponytail going down her back. If not for her amethyst eyes, some Mages would have mistaken her for a homunculus of the Einzbern family. Her name is Ethteris, a player from the digital world known to its inhabitance as Yggdrasil.

After flipping through the last few pages, Ethteris placed the tome aside and turned her attention towards the undead wiseman standing in the corner of the room. It is a present she got from her guildmate and friend Momonga. "Those were the good days, but the real adventure had just begun for all of us." Ethteris sighed.

While the rest of the guild and the members of Voidlord's court were teleported to the new world, Ethteris found herself in a room of cultists trying to summon and bind a demon or the likes. It would have been infuriating for Ethteris to find herself in such a situation. Due to her passive [Emotion dampening], she didn't unleash her strongest spell arsenal in a bombardic frenzy. Those Cultist were subdued effortlessly. The gap in power was too large for those mages to harm her.

Foreseeing the possibility of her absence from her guild base, Ethteris has already prepared precautions for the possibility she herself is unable to make it to the new world. There is a small gimmick in the throne room of Star Shade Castle that automatically sends a letter to the next guildmaster, informing said person of the last will of the previous guildmaster. It would be hilarious to see the reaction of Momonga when he got the notification on becoming the new Guildmaster. Ethteris could only hope Momonga could figure out the riddle that was left at the end of her last will.

"Mistress, the ritual is ready." The lich informed Ethteris in his raspy voice. In the next room, there is a magic circle drawn on the ground in blood. This summoning circle is what the old tome to be described to summon a heroic spirit to fight in the upcoming holy grail war.

Ethteris took a deep sigh, even though she no longer required oxygen. It seems this is one of her habits as a human lingering with her. She didn't mind it. She wouldn't be needing the grail in the first place if it weren't for the world itself suppressing her [Administrator authority], a set of cheats she installed into her game avatar before the server shutdown. Translate it into reality would make her essentially a god amongst players. But unfortunately, the very being of the world judged it to be too dangerous to let her access the power of the shitty Devs, so her access to the [Administrator authority] skill tree is currently sealed off from her.

At least this isn't a total loss. Ethteris is a soul that transmigrated into the dystopian world where Yggdrasil was nothing but a game. Upon entering the world, her soul was split into two separated halves and will be merged together along with the game avatars the two had on the day of the server shutdown. The reason behind this action was simple. Ethteris wanted to surpass the strength of all level 100 players. So, by stacking the stats of two level 100 players Ethteris would be able to surpass the strength of Yggdrasil players that are limited in strength by the level cap of Lvl 100. And her plan worked. With her current strength, Ethteris could solo the world enemy Ndhoggr with some time of preparation and come out victorious. But as with any experienced Yggdrasil player, Ethteris also knew no matter how strong she might be, there is always a bigger predator waiting in the unseen. There for Ethteris would rather solo a world enemy than flaunt her strength around like a mentally challenged at least not in the nasu-verse there are too many monsters that Ethteris didn't want to deal with regardless of her strength. That brings her to the presents where she takes part in this holy grail war. Her wish would be to launch herself out of this world's influence and regain access to her [Administer Authority], so she can reunite with her friends.

Standing up from the comfortable couch, the true born of the Void in human skin followed her lich to the summoning circle. Finding the instructions on the holy grail's summoning rituals had proved to be a wild goose chase if to put it lightly. First Ethteris had to infiltrate the clock tower in England and sneak into the secret vault underground. The security was rather easy to bypass by using [teleportation] and [perfect unknowable].

Then while waiting for the next holy grail war to begin, Ethteris had smuggled herself into the clock tower as a transfer student from French. In her time living in the dystopian world one of her half's had picked up French as a language do to a few guildmembers using it as a coded language against other players.

Learning about the magic in this world turns out to be more interesting than the true Void originally thought, unlike the boring lectures in the old world where one needed to hammer them it their heads, Kayneth is actually a really good teacher. The player almost felt bad for him knowing who his competitions are in the upcoming grail war. Waver, the to be master of rider or the king of conquest's loyal subject is not as impressive as Ethteris thought he would be. Perhaps meeting the absolute unit of a Chad Iskandar, is the trigger for his character development.

In the business district of Fuyuki Ethteris managed to "setup shop" like the mages call it. On the top floor of a twelve-story tall apartment, the void born made it her first base of operation. Throughout Fuyuki city there are four locations Ethteris uses as her 'bases' of operations. Two of them are traps deadly enough to theoretically kill a servant. One in the sewers and another one on the outskirts of the city. For the other six masters, dying or losing their servants would kick them out of the competition. Sure, they are able to form new contracts with masterless servants to get back in the game, but when the master is dead it is game over irrelevant whether the servant is still standing. Ethteris is different. As a player that has the stats of two level 100 players stacked into one, most servants will not be her enemy. Having her servant focus on keeping itself alive has utmost priority regardless of its strength and abilities.

At the meantime gathering information on potential caster servants to summon turns out to be a difficult task. Since Ethteris has already killed Ryuunosuke and taken his tome detailing the summoning ritual for the holy grail, Ethteris is now a master for the caster servant. The psychopath didn't even know anything about the holy grail wars.

From the vague memories Ethteris had on the anime, blue beard was summoned because his personality matched that of Ryuunosuke's. The void born wondered what kind of servants she would be able to summon on compatibility alone. After all, all she'll need is a servant that can protect itself.

Looking on the back of her right hand there is a command seal depicting a dried-up tree with a cross shaped star embedded in the center of the tree trunk and a serpent encircling the tree while it is eating its own tail. "Fate truly has a sense of humor." Looking at her command seal Ethteris mused to herself. "Mistress? Is something not to milady's liking?" the undead wiseman asked unsure of what his mistress was thinking. "It's nothing that will hinder my plans, pay no mind to it." The void lord waved off the lich's concerns. Looking down at the ritual circle drawn from the blood of Ryuunosuke, Ethteris began to channel mana into the summoning circle and began the incantation.

"Let silver and steel be the essence."

"Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation."

"Let black be the color I pay tribute to the void, the origin of all."

"Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall."

"Let the four cardinal gates close."

"Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate."

"I hereby declare."

"Your body shall serve under me."

"My fate shall be your sword."

"Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail."

"If you will submit to this will and this reason…Then answer!"

"An oath shall be sworn here!"

"I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven."

"I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell!"

The light of the magic circle slowly started to illuminate the dim lit room.

Trivia: Void

Born from the nothingness of the void. In nature close to the eldritch and undead, yet neither in behavior. For the undead harbor hatred towards the living, the void is apathetic in regards. For the eldritch brings chaos and madness, the void is silent. One racial trait of those who spawn from the void is that their karma is permanently set on true neutral. For there is nothing moral nor immoral in the void, only the nothingness of the hollow void.

Notable skills(passive)

Emotion dampening: reduces the effects of mental debuff and attacks by the level of resistance of the host. All emotions of the host are reduced to a minimum.

Voidborn core: the potency and duration of all debuffs is reduced by 5% for each racial level in Void spawn races and their higher forms.

Fairy eye: A passive skill obtained after being one of the first 25 players to complete all the fairy allied quests in game. All fairy type NPCs are not hostile towards the player and acknowledge the player as ally of their race. Gains 3 different types of "charm" skills.

A/N: hope you all enjoyed the story so far. The story is not about winning the war, it about the friends we make on the journey.

Review and suggest potential caster servants, please. At this point I'm not sure which of the caster servants I should pick to be summoned.

Here is the list of ideas:

Paracelsus von Hohenheim

Cú Chulainn (caster)

Morgan Le Faye

Nursery Rhyme

Miss Crane

If there are no comments, then I'll be spending extra time researching on caster class servants.
