Dark walls and a damp scent that would make people with a sensible nose start sniffling and suffer from a case of sinusitis. Yep, this was the world Hisoka found himself dragged to at least two months ago or something like that and in the exact same place. The jester cracked his neck and rolled his shoulder with a wince. "If I'm being honest with you guys… I did not miss this place at all…"

Maki and Oikawa were by his side. The former looking completely creeped out from the atmosphere, while the other was looking neutrally at everything with an easy-going smile on his face. "My, it's been a long time since I've been into this castle…" Yukio commented with a scratch of his cheek.

"This is… the Dark World," Maki commented, running her hands around her arms in an attempt to harm up.

Hisoka smiled at her with amusement. "Quite the frivolous place, isn't it? I'd offer you a jacket, but it seems I have left it back at the shack."

"And I don't want to get cold, thank you very much…" Oikawa commented, readjusting his oversize purple coat.

Maki glared at him sourly, as she just continued in her attempts to warm herself up. A loud bang made her jump and all three of them swirled around towards the big stone, double entrance door where a cold gust of wind invaded the room.

Black goo slithered into the room, moving around the three adults in the room and gathering in front of them. The goo started to take a form that towered over even both Nen users by a head. Its whole body seemed to be made out of tentacles put together by bands and belts in its legs and arms and with a large head and a tentacle around its mouth. Dagomon the God of the Dark Ocean had made itself known to the three humans.

"Anomaly, Oikawa…" Its voice rumbled across the chamber, its red eyes narrowing at them and zeroing in the female human accompanying them. "And a trespasser…"

Maki flinch under its glare, yet didn't shrank back nor did she show her nervousness. Hisoka smirked, as to be expected from a woman who faced the Dark Masters and who was… more than adequate as a lover~. But now they have a problem to address here.

"She is my guest, not a trespasser," Hisoka said, putting a hand to Maki's shoulder. "She gave me asylum in my stay on the other world."

"And I'm chopped liver it seems," Oikawa muttered under his breath. "Typical."

The God's head lowered until it was face to face with the three human. "Anomaly. You have wasted both of our time. Through the eyes of my servant, Daemon, I witnessed how you took on some insects that were in the way when you should have secured the Child of Light at all cost," his eyes zeroed on Oikawa. "And you HAD HER! Yet you let her escape to the Digidestined!"

"Now, now, let's be fair here," Oikawa said, holding his hands up. "We were outnumbered thirteen to one, and my power is certainly lacking compared to theirs."

"And at least they did something," Maki said, gripping Hisoka's arm as she glared at the God. "You just sent your goons instead of grabbing the girl yourself."

"Such INSOLENCE!" Its voice made the entire room shook, Maki gripped the arm tighter while Oikawa stumble. Hisoka just raised an eyebrow. "You do not know what you speak of woman! I am the GOD of this world! My peoples need me more than ever in this trying times! Be thankful of your kinship with the Anomaly, but speak out of turn again and my Deadmon will assimilate you!"

Being unfamiliar with the term, Maki could only suppose that meant bad news so she shut her mouth. Hisoka, deciding to ease tension between the two groups spoke up. "So sir, why have you brought me back? The girl is still on the loose from what I gathered."

The God's head turned to the former Anomaly, giving a grunt of affirmation. "Yes. She is. However the current Anomaly has been brought to my domain."

Hisoka's eyes widened and a coy smile formed around his lips. "Hoh~ dear Killua?"

"What a conundrum," Oikawa commented, before smirking. "I can see what you are going to task Hisoka with."

"With the Anomaly out of the way, getting the girl will be easier." Dagomon shook its head. "Or rather, bringing her to me will be easier. That child, full of senseless sentimentalism that she is, will no doubt come for him along with the rest of the Digidestined. You will eliminate the Anomaly before they found him and then… you will be returned to your world as we agreed."

Hisoka's fist tightened as he heard he now had to eliminate Killua. Not out of consideration for the boy or something like that, but because the thought of killing him make his mind drift somewhere else… 'If Illumi gets wind of this… he will lose it. He will come at me with the desire to kill me. And all that after my desired fight with Chrollo! OH~!"

He lowered his head, grinning like a lunatic. His pants were getting tighter by the second as he thought of the ravaging mad expression Illumi would have on his face. Oh the face he did when he asked him if he could 'Do' Killua back then would be nothing compared to that. OH~!

Oikawa took a step back away from Hisoka, while Maki stared at his twisted face with growing concern. "Hisoka?"

Hisoka licked his lips and looked up at the creature. "One… More thing…" He asked gripping the legs of his pants. "Maki… Take her to the Digital World…"

"Hn?" Dagomon's eyes narrowed at Hisoka's petition.

"To thank her, for the help she brought me in that world," He said, with greeted teeth through his gigantic smile.

Dagomon's eyes zeroed on the woman who had dared to talk back to it before. Maki held her breath for a couple seconds, before the big creature turned back his eyes on Hisoka. "Finish your task first and I'll give the rewards then."

"Good… Good…" Hisoka said, twitching. He had to do something; this was not good. He had to calm himself or else… Or else… OR ELSE HE'LL—!

Dagomon extended one large tentacle to its side and a drop of goo fell from it. That goo quickly took the form of a Devidramon that roared at them. Maki tensed, and so did Oikawa, yet Hisoka…

SLASH!

… poor thing couldn't even comprehend the reason for its existence before Hisoka dashed towards it and decapitated its head. Making it dissipate from the room in mots of black dust.

Maki looked disturbed by the attack, while Oikawa looked upset, glaring at Hisoka's back. 'I'm not even close to that strength yet… I have to do something about it soon…! For the sake of my plans!'

Hisoka sighed in relief and nodded towards Dagomon with a grateful smile. "Thank you for that, sir~"

"Hrrn… Not the first time you have an outburst like that. The prospect of getting back to the Digital World set you off like that before I was able to send you there," Dagomon grunted as he glared at Hisoka.

'What the heck are they talking about?! What the hell was that?!' Maki screamed in her head.

Hisoka straightened and gave a nod to Dagomon. "Then I shall be off to fulfill my part," he said walking towards the door and passing by Maki. "Come along dear, we don't have all day~"

Maki looked at him with a disturbed look, before huffing out an exhale and following. Oikawa turned back to Dagomon and gave it a look. "So, where is it? What I left here months ago?"

"Your creation is in the depths of this fortress. It should be repaired soon," Dagomon explained, its body slowly decomposing back into goo. "I must prepare, for the arrival of the Child of Light. Do not interfere."

Oikawa scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Why would I?" He questioned to no one in particular, before walking out of the room.

The hallway in the exterior of the room divided into two. Oikawa looked to his left to see Hisoka and Maki being guided towards what he assumed was the exit by a simple-looking Deadmon. Hisoka stopped and turned to him. "I supposed this is goodbye then?"

Oikawa smirked. "It would seem so. If you fulfill your goal, you'll go home! Wonderful," He waved as he turned around. "That way we won't butt into each other's business anymore."

Hisoka chuckled and resumed his walking. Ready for this little adventure of his to be over.

"This place is the pits."

Killua grumbled under his breath, hands tucket into his pockets as he and Blademon continued on their trek to the north. And this dark world just continued to give him constant headache after constant headache. After leaving the cave where they rested the… night? He didn't know, nothing changed in this world nor the clouds nor the position of the sun. Point is, time has passed since he came here and since they left the cave and now, they went from rocky with holes, to snowy with snow reaching his knees. Thank goodness his clothes remained the same and still had his coat and pants.

How much farther north they'll have to go he didn't know; the asshole lord of this asshole world hadn't been specific in that in Killua's opinion. It mentioned a fortress, yet with how misshaped and bizarre this whole place was they could come across with one once they got out of this freezing place and it could not be the one, they are heading towards.

To make matters slightly worse, no real conversation has sparked between him and his traveling companion. Blademon walked slightly ahead of him, his legs buried knee-deep into the snow. Killua didn't know how he was enduring the cold with just a cloak and his armor pieces on his body, must be good to have fur on you it seems…

But anyways, words have barely been exchanged between the two. And there was a certain awkward atmosphere between the two. 'I know we tried to kill each other, but there must be a way to get past that…' He thought tiredly, closing his eyes. 'That and it would make this whole trek a bit more… doable. And its clear he's not going to break the ice."

Walking a bit faster until he was next to Blademon, Killua folded his hands behind his head and gave Blademon a side-look. "So, what's the plan?"

"… What do you mean?" Blademon asked, turning to quirk an eyebrow at him.

"I mean, once we get out of here," Killua said, turning to fully look at him and lowering his arms to put his hands on his pockets. "What are you planning to do?"

Blademon was quiet for a moment, before looking ahead again and shrugging his shoulders. "I don't know. I'm not exactly welcome in the Digital World after what Ichijouji and I did."

Killua's lips tugged downwards. True, Ken at least was a bit less recognizable without the Emperor's getup, but Blademon was the only one of its kind and will be recognized easily. However, the solution came fast to Killua. "Just revert back to a previous state and go incognito, simple. You have four forms to choose from."

Again, Blademon was quiet for a moment before answering. "I will consider it."

'Consider what? Going back?' Killua thought giving him a blank look, before his eyes widened. 'Shit! Could he really be thinking of not coming back?!'

That was a depressing thought, but not really one that was farfetched. Blademon had nothing in the other worlds, so why bother coming back? Killua trailed back and observed his partner's back with a soft expression. 'I don't want to push it. Considering how much this weighs on his mind, it could end up badly… but then again…'

'You have it easy, don't you Killua?'

Killua shook his head as those cold words echoed on his mind, a shiver going down his spine that was unrelated to the cold weather. 'Last time I didn't push the issue it ended up badly.' He clenched his fists and inhaled through his nose and exhaled from his mouth. 'No, last time I knew that whatever I said wasn't going to break through. Here, it is me that has to take the first step no matter what? Blademon's not clouded with the same hatred as Gon was, this is guilt. That I can relate to, like when I first went to the Digital World. And yet my guilt came from my inaction and his came from direct action… dang it why does it have to be so goddamned complicated!?'

He had all day to think on how to approach this and now that he had the motivation, he was drawing a blank. Can this get any more asinine?!

The two stopped, for there was a rustling in the snow. Blademon lifted his hand to the side and in a whisp of blue energy his sword was firmly on his palm. Killua raised his hand and let his aura spike around him, his nails sharpening as he just drew in a puff of air that was released with frustration.

'I jinxed us,' He thought sourly.

From the deep layers of snow, various shapeless figures made of murky water emerged like geysers. They quickly took the shape of Digimon of various size and shapes. Amongst them, Killua could identify some Meramon that were made of the same black flames the Deadmon used as an attack. Hyugamon like the one from the underground city. Flymon took the sky along with some Devidramon. And all in all, they were surrounded by dozens of Deadmon in the shape of Adult to Ultimate Level Digimon.

"What a welcoming committee," Killua snarked as he walked to Blademon. "Back-to-back?"

"Back-to-back!" Blademon nodded. Both Digimon and human covered each other's rear while glaring at the small army around them. "While the big guy invited us to its castle it seems it doesn't want us to get there in one piece. Still these guys…" A slight smirk came to his face as he glared at the Deadmon posing as Champions before declaring with a smile, "we can take them."

Killua saw this from the corner of his eye and an idea popped into mind. "Our last fight didn't go so well. So how about this," he prepared his legs as he saw one of them moving towards them. "Take the ones in the left, I take the ones in the right. And whoever beats more calls the shots."

"Really?" Blademon asked, incredulous. "A game? At a time like this?"

Killua smirked and decided to push some buttons as he smirked cattishly at him. "What scared you'll lose?"

Blademon sputtered, but before he could voice his denial at the proposal, the Deadmon jumped at them. Ready to tear them apart. The duo responded in kind, jumping towards their respective sides to start the brawl.

Killua delivered kicks to the head of the Deadmon, reinforced with his aura they had the enough strength to blow them out of their necks. Two of them fell from it, and when two Hyugamon tried to jump on him from above he jabbed their chests with his nails, piercing through their torso. A duo of Meramon tried to blast him with black fire, but Killua moved with blurring speed in between them, using a bit of his electricity to coat his hands and chop his head off with his claws.

"Hissss… ouch!" Still, he could feel the hot of the flames and waved his hands a bit to get rid of the sensation.

That was an opening that a pair of Flymon took to dive and try to skewer him with their stingers, Killua moved to the side, letting their appendage get buried in the snow and ducking when a pair of claws coming from a Devidramon tried to take his head. And from above another two sent fireballs raining down on him that Killua was able to easily avoid by flipping back.

He landed on his knees and narrowed his eyes at his four attackers, the first in his land of sight being the Devidramon that tried to behead him. Killua charged and jumped over its head, landing on his shoulders. He grabbed the monsters head and with a sickening twist it was now pointing in the complete opposite direction.

As its body started to turn into black mots of dust, the two Devidramon from above dive in trying to swoop in and catch him in his claws. Killua smirked and used that one his favor, he grabbed one of the Devidramon's claws and latched onto it to then climb on its back and with his sharpened nails pierce right through its chest.

The other Devidramon roared and charged at him, jaws open with the intention of biting his head off. Killua turned to it and held his hands out, holding it at bay while the one he was riding lost altitude as it vanished.

'These guys… they are barely a problem,' Killua thought, as he gripped the monster's jaw even harder. 'When compared to the Daemon Corps, and the two Tower-Made Megas. This is just a warm-up. Reminds me of that rabbit Chimera guy…'

One of the first Chimeras Gon and him faced. They pummeled him and then Colt had to bail him out from the fight. Next time he saw it was during Palm and Gon's 'date' shortly after Killua returned to the Digital World. The guy was about to ambush them, but he barely lasted two seconds in front of Killua. Thank God he got rid of the needle before that encounter.

'Enough reminiscing of the past,' Killua thought as he gripped the jaws harder until with a sickening CRACK they snapped in half. 'Deadmon to deal with, and a self-made competition I have to win.' He chopped the Devidramon's head off just as the one he was riding on completely vanished.

All around, Deadmon charged at him and he just fended them off with throws, chops, thrusts. They broke and crumpled like paper on his hands, and as reluctant as he was to admit, he mostly owned this sort of thing to his family's teachings. All the while he kept a mental count on his head as the dots of black dust covered the area.

'That's around fifteen on my side,' He smirked and pumped his fists, avoiding a lunging Hyogamon and elbowing its head hard enough to knock it down. 'How's Blademon doing?'

It didn't came as a surprise what he saw. With or without the so-called 'gift' Oikawa gave him, Blademon was still powerful even by Ultimate's standards. He cleaved and torn through his opponents with his sword without a problem, and those he could not reach he just used an Air Slash on. His area was mostly cleared up by now.

"TIGER'S HUNT!" With a gust of energy surging around him, Blademon charged towards one Deadmon after the other, soon there were no more of the creatures on his side of the snowy terrain.

'And we have a winner,' Killua thought, idly dodging a Deadmon attacking him from behind. 'This has been somewhat entertaining, but now it's just meddlesome.'

He turned to the remaining Deadmon and charged, blurring across them at blinding speed. The Deadmon's all turned to dust, leaving only the two outsiders from this world.

Killua stuffed his hands on his pockets and let out a defeated moan. "Ooh, man… I lost; you finished them all off before I did!"

Blademon looked at him with a raised eyebrow, before exhaling and dispelling his sword. "I never said I was playing."

"Well too bad, you were," An idea came to Killua's mind, as he folded his hands behind his head. Seeing that Blademon was so rough around the edges, he decided to play as the one person stubborn enough to get through those edges.

Blademon's eye twitched and he turned to give him a glare. "You can't just decide that."

"I just did," he said with a cattish grin. "And you won. Congrats!"

Blademon stared at him tensely for a moment, before exhaling and turning away. "Who would've said you could be so selfishly childish?" He muttered under his breath. "Fine, whatever you say. I won."

Killua grinned in victory. 'Thanks, Gon…' Knowing his friend's attitude was a great option for people like Blademon, he said jogging next to him. "So, know you'll call the shots in fights. That'll help in coordination."

Blademon didn't answered immediately, he seemed to be pondering something before turning to him. "I think its best if you do it," he finally said. "I've never been one to call the shots. Always the muscle of things, with both Oikawa and even for the Emperor."

"Ken," Killua couldn't help but correct. The Emperor was no more.

"Right," Blademon nodded at his correction. "The point is, you have more experience giving instructions more than I do. We beat that SkullGreymon from back there with your plans. You take the lead and I'll follow you."

Killua grinned in triumph. 'Progress!'

The rest of the trek was completely uneventful compared to that brawl against the Deadmon. But at the very least, the awkwardness between the two was reduced considerably. They were not best friends, and heck there was even a lingering doubt if they could be even call themselves friends at this point. But at least small talk could be made between them.

"So, you like chocolate?" Killua questioned, recalling a comment made back in the town.

"That and crackers," Blademon said, holding his stomach. "Could we avoid the issue? Speaking of food makes me yearn for something to eat."

"Sorry," Killua said, stuffing his hands on his pockets.

Blademon turned to him with a questioning look. "In this place, time really doesn't pass. Everything is stagnant. So, back in the Digital World, and the human world, how much time has passed since I got dragged here?"

Killua grimaced and thought back to it. "Around two months or so…" He revealed.

Blademon just grunted. "Hm… Expected it to be longer," he mumbled. "Oikawa didn't destroy the temples, did he?"

"Almost," Killua conceded, thinking back to the three guardians still sealed away. "But we managed to save the last one… not that it did much considering how much the boundary between worlds."

Blademon stopped and gripped his fist. "Motherfucker, how did I not see it before… FUCK!" He yelled, turning around and summoning his sword and unleashing an Air Slash towards the distance.

"What's gotten into you?!" Killua asked, baffled at the sudden anger from his partner.

"Killua. The day we fought," Blademon said, growling and gritting his teeth. "Was the day the attacks on the temple started. When Oikawa ordered the creation of BlackMetalGarurumon to do the deed. And it did happen on the same day, didn't it?!"

Killua's eyes widened when the pieces fell together. The reason why Blademon was dragged to this world on that day specifically, not only was it because of his feelings of despair, but because on that same day the boundary was affected negatively for the destruction of the temple.

And once again, the guilt fell on one man's hands.

"Oikawa… You just keep getting points on my shit list," Killua said in a low growl. "Another reason to get out of this world and pronto."

"Agreed," Blademon said with a growl, fists clenched. "And the first step for that is getting out of this stupid cold as soon as possible."

Killua rolled his shoulder and gave the Digimon a slap in the shoulder. "Very well then. A race?"

Blademon blinked and gave him a blank stare. "Are you still on about these games?!" He asked, with a bit of heat behind his words.

Killua ignored it. He just stretched his arms and legs. "Of course," he said with a smirk. "What's the point of getting worked up now? We can take on Oikawa together when we see him, but for now, seeing that there's no fodder to blow some steam with. We have to get the frustration out of our bodies."

Blademon scoffed. "And why would I do that?" He asked, clenching his fist. "My anger against Yukio is justified."

"True," Killua nodded. "But will you let it cloud yourself again? Like with me?"

"That's different…!" He growled under clenched teeth.

"True again," Killua conceded. "But who knows how much longer we'll be here? We have to have a clear mind for the boss right in front of us at the moment, Dagomon. So, let's get the frustration out of our bodies… Unless you're scared to lose."

"I am not—" Blademon started, a vein popping on his head.

"Three, two, one. GO!" Killua didn't gave him the chance to respond, he focused Nen on his legs and shot forward like a bullet. Leaving a trail of snow on his awake.

He dashed in leaps and bounds away from his partner. Was separating a bad idea? Sure, Killua knew that and acknowledge it. However, the race for him had two motives: One, to clear the frustrations like he said before, try to get some steam off Blademon and avoid him from getting solely focus on revenge again—No matter how deserving Oikawa is of that revenge . And two: It was fun, and a way to keep their spirits off in a place so monotone and bleak like this.

He looked back to see if Blademon was following, only to see nothing. Killua frowned and almost stopped. Has he misjudged the situation this badly, maybe? Blademon was really not in the mood for this kind of games? 'Ahh, of course he isn't. This really isn't the time for games, and acting like Gon right now might not be the best course of action.'

Maybe he should tone it out a little. Stop acting like his best friend would in this kind of situation and just think with a leveled head like always. At least until the others arrived, or when they manage to get past Dagomon and go back on their own. Whichever happens first.

However, said thoughts were erased from his mind when a familiar sword zoomed past him. Almost gracing his cheek, his eyes widened as he turned to see Blademon's sword buzzing in the air and in a flash of light the Digimon himself appeared, grabbing the handle of the weapon.

"If winning these games will be enough to keep you calm, then fine!" The Digimon said. "Try to catch up, slowpoke!"

Killua blinked, before smirking and focusing aura on his legs. 'Oh, it is on!' A burst of Nen propelled him forward, he dashed through the snow, trying to catch up to his partner.

To the boy's misfortune, Blademon's technique was better than his. Whatever connection the Digimon had with his sword, did not only allowed him to call it forth to battle at any moment, but he also used it to teleport to its location. An ability that for the looks of it, didn't took a toll on the Digimon unlike with the boy whose aura was to be used sparely.

'Really gotta invest on a taser…' Killua thought ruefully to himself, as he dashed across the snow.

Like with all the locations they've been through in this bizarre world, the snow suddenly ended, and in its instead was a dried road. Dead and dried trees surrounding the road. Killua skidded to a stop and hunched over to regain a bit of his breath, it wasn't the most taxing thing he's done, but it was tiring nonetheless.

Blademon was leaning against one of the trees, with his sword resting on his shoulder. He gave Killua a small smirk and a scoff. "Not fast enough?"

"Oh, haha," Killua said, straightening himself. "Jeez, you're broken. Has anyone told you that?"

"The old hag, Arukenimon," Blademon replied, dismissing his sword. "When I evolved, she was no match for me anymore. Should have looked the expression on her face when I defeated her."

"Bet it's the same she makes every time we got in her way," Killua said, as the two started to walk down the road. "And when the others actually started fighting back."

"Others? The other Digidestined?" Blademon questioned, surprise lacing his voice. "They stood up to Arukenimon?"

Killua gave him a proud smile. "Not to brag, but they all learned Nen and started fighting back on their own." He gave a small laugh and folded his hands behind his back. "Wish we had more time to give them more training."

Blademon hummed in thought. "Good call, considering the obsession the Deadmon have with the Child of Light."

"Being dragged here is actually what sparked the whole idea," Killua said, remembering the day when they first met this world. "Kari wanted to be able to protect herself from these beings and begged me to learn Nen. Since Ken could do it, she knew she could too. I was really skeptical, but she can be very headstrong when she leaves her doubts aside and sets her goals on something. I thought she was going to break like a twig, or dropped due to how early in the morning we were training yet she showed discipline in going every single day. I mean, the others did too, but she was the first you know? All by herself. She didn't settle on just the basics; she was able to develop three techniques all together. Though, she can be reckless, like when she leaped on an Airdramon's back or when she gave herself up to Oikawa when he took kids as hostages. But her heart was in the right place and…"

Killua's words were cut short when he noticed Blademon giving him a blank stare. The boy suddenly felt really self-conscious and blushed, scratching his cheek. "So… yeah."

"You like her," It was as much of a factual statement as it was that the trees around them were rotten and dead.

Killua sighed and shrugged. "Yeah…"

"Huh, expected you to get more flustered," The Digimon mumbled, loud enough for the boy to hear.

Killua snorted, thinking back he would have probably denied the possibility loudly and blushing and calling anyone in vicinity an idiot. "Yeah, used to be bad with emotions. But I can at least acknowledge them now… most of the time."

"Humans are weird…" Blademon decided with a shrug of his shoulders.

"So are Digimon," Killua countered, crossing his arms with a raised eyebrow. "In more ways than one."

"Touché."

The road ahead of them didn't change much. Monotone and downright boring if one were to ask the two. No Deadmon jumped at them from the shadows of the trees, and Killua has run out of ideas for games. And he was not so bored as to play something like Twenty-Questions.

The boredom and monotony of it all ended when they stood in front of a rather grim scenario. A crooked sign and metal fence surrounding the area, with the image of a rotten wood clown smiling down at them. It didn't take long for them to realize they were in front of what appeared to be an abandoned carnival.

The two stood in front of the entrance. As if this world couldn't be creepy enough, of course it had something like this in itself.

Blademon turned to Killua with a flat look on his eyes. "Do we have to go through this place?"

Killua scanned the area for a moment, his eyes roaming around the fence and seeing that it extends for quite the width of the area. He focused Nen on his feet and jumped, and clicked his tongue at what he saw. The theme park was really extensive, he could see some attractions repeating themselves. More than one Ferris-Wheel and Merry-Go-Round and Roller Coasters, all inside the limits of the fence.

He landed on the floor and hung his head with a sigh. "If we want to continue on the set route… then yes."

"Joy…" Blademon muttered, voice dryer than the trees around them.

The two stepped foot inside, and immediately felt a shiver ran down their spines. Killua glanced around and couldn't help to comment, "Do you think they sell cotton candy here?"

Blademon huffed. "If they do, I would have already ravished it. And probably taste like—"

The two tensed when two shadows leaped from some of the candy stands to their left and right. Two Deadmon shifting in the form of Kuwagamon roared at them.

Killua moved, and in an instant, he was behind the monster. Its abdomen splitting in half and turning to dust.

Blademon didn't have to move, with the swing of his sword and Air Slash split the monster's body in half right down the middle. Sharing the same fate as its companion.

The two stared at the place with renewed suspicion. "What the hell was that for?!" Killua growled.

"If I learned something from this thing is that they barely come by themselves…" Blademon growled, gripping his sword tightly.

"Hurray… more fodder," Killua drawled.

They didn't know how long they've been walking down the tunnel lead by one of Dagomon's servants. But Maki was starting to feel a little claustrophobic. The tunnel wasn't that narrowed, it had ample space for them to walk and the ceiling was high enough for them to not worry of bumping in it.

But with how long they've been walking down in it and how stupidly monotone everything was around them it was getting sickening. She was sick of the same gray walls, the same dull shade tainting this world and the squishy sound the Deadmon ahead of them made every time he took a step forward.

She cast a glance to Hisoka, who kept a neutral face as he continued to walk.

Never she could get a read of that man. Not when they were children, not when he came knocking into her life again, and not even after sharing a bed together… It was honestly baffling as well as infuriating. Specially after that stunt he pulled on the throne room of the world ruler.

That was unsettling. No, correction, it was downright scary and it made her want to avoid any eye contact with the man. She didn't remember a time where he acted like that back on their mission in the Digital World, nor did has she seen him acting like that before what transpired.

She didn't want to address it at first, but if it helped to break the monotony of this walk then she might address the elephant in the room.

She strode to Hisoka's side and nudged his side. "Hey…!"

Hisoka looked at her with a small smile. "Yes, Maki?"

"What the heck was that back then?!" She hissed, glaring at him slightly. "The attack on that Deadmon in the room…"

Hisoka chuckled and looked ahead with mirth in his eyes. "I lost hold of myself for a bit. Happens from time to time, specially under the promise of a good fight." He looked down at his hand and closed it into a fist. "The prospect of a challenge, no… of crushing someone worthy always sets me on and I need to take my excitement on something or I might blow. Carnal desires are so hard to held back you know?"

… That was crazy. He felt carnal desires over the desire of… crushing someone else?! She didn't know what kind of face she was making, but she had to turn away to hide the uneasiness she was feeling.

In the end… it didn't matter. Hisoka was just a means to an end and vice-versa. They were close to fulfilling their respective goals and all they had to do was… was…

'What's necessary,' She settled for the word. 'I'm doing what's best… for Tapirmon.'

Extreme? Maybe. Many would call it that, but none of them were Digidestined once and none of the Digidestined of any generation, not even her teammates, could understand it. The loss of a partner felt like a hole in the chest, like a part of her has been missing ever since Tapirmon vanished.

And even if they lost their partners, they would reborn in Primary Village, she didn't even get that luxury.

So, to give her partner a second chance, and to fill the place left in her heart, she would do what's… what's necessary.

The Deadmon guiding them stopped and lifted its head. "We're here…" It spoke on a raspy voice. "The Anomaly, is right above our heads. My brethren has fought him… and perished."

Hisoka chuckled. "As expected from Killua," he said in an almost proud tone.

The Deadmon shifted and turned into a Drimogemon. It roared and jumped upwards, its drill-nose tunneling through the ceiling and making a hole. What little light is there in the surface of this world shone through, a slight, barely noticeable change to the tone in the hall.

"Shall we?" Hisoka proposed, holding out a hand.

Sighing she took it, only to yelp when Hisoka swept her off her feet and carried her bridal style. "EEEP!"

Hisoka jumped outside of the whole, higher than she thought was humanly possible and landed right at the edge of the hole. The Dead-Drimogemon was next to them, looking in the direction of what seemed to be a carnival or a circus of sorts.

"The Anomaly is there… Along with the invader, Blademon…" The Dead-Drimogemon rasped out, glaring in said direction.

"Blademon?" Maki questioned; she didn't know there were other Digimon in this world.

"Another nuisance in the plans of Lord Dagomon," The Deadmon said, as it trudged back to the hole. "The rest is up to you, Hisoka Morrow. Fulfill the will of our God."

It jumped in and disappeared in the darkness below. Leaving all the job to the two outsiders.

"Tch, we are suddenly their cleaning up service," Maki complained, crossing her arms.

"Then better get started," Hisoka said, flexing his fingers and rolling his shoulders, getting satisfying cracks from them. "I don't know who this Blademon character is, but Digimon in general tend to be… Fascinating~"

Maki felt a shudder at the tone in Hisoka's voice. It wasn't the first time he used it, but with the new side of him she discovered it… certainly didn't make her feel comfortable.

However, no protest came from her as Hisoka grabbed her and they both dashed towards the area where their target was expecting them. She took a deep breath and thought back to her partner. If this was what was necessary to get him back, then so be it.

After the small ambush from the two Deadmon. Killua and Blademon stood still in the middle of the carnival. Their senses screaming at them of danger, and the two of them watching in every direction to know just where will it come from. The boy's hands twitched and shifted into claws, while Blademon's sword was getting crushed by its owner's grip.

"You feel that too, right?" Killua asked his partner.

Narrowing his eyes, the Digimon nodded. "Yes… It's a disgusting feeling."

Killua let out a humorless snort. "Right?" He looked around, feeling anxiety pooling in his stomach. "A feeling I am familiar with, sadly…"

A chuckle resonated in the ambience, resonating within Killua and chilling him to his core. He gritted his teeth, knowing exactly what was awaiting him.

The two turned towards a food stand, where from behind a corner their new obstacle made itself known. Killua growled in anger at the visage in front of him, while Blademon frowned due to the knowledge he had of this enemy.

Hisoka smiled at the boy, leaning against the wall of the stand. "My, my, dear Killua. You almost don't look happy to see me."

Killua glared at the man for a moment, before taking a deep breath and exhaling through his nose while closing his eyes. "No. In a way. I am glad."

This piked Hisoka's interest as he raised an eyebrow. "Ho~?"

Killua opened his eyes. And Hisoka had to chuckle. The boy's eyes now looked like his brother's and it was oh so delicious to see~

"That means you're away from Kari and the others," Killua said, as his Ren flared around him.

Blademon observed his partner's reaction and readjusted the grip of his weapon. 'To get you all riled up like this. This guy is a big deal.' His own aura of power came to life, swirling around his sword. 'No time to hold back.'

Hisoka cracked his neck and let his own aura flare, he knew they weren't going to underestimate him, so he wasn't going to risk it. He knew he was strong, and that Killua was still away from his level, but in tandem with a Digimon of unknown capabilities, better to be sure.

Killua gave Blademon a side-glance, the Digimon in turn doing the same. The boy gestured with his head at their opponent and said one word: "Go."

Blademon dashed forward, his energy swirling around him as he roared. Hisoka prepped himself and leaned back to dodge a swing from the Digimon's broadsword. The jester planted his hands on the floor and slammed his feet against his opponent's torso, reinforcing them with a bit more of his aura.

Blademon grunted as he was pushed back, he slammed his sword into the ground to stop his momentum and pulled it out as fast as he could to not be defenseless.

From behind Killua jumped and launched a Conjured yo-yo at the clown. Hisoka back-flipped to dodge it, but Killua counted on that so he threw a second yo-yo and wrapped it around the jester's foot and tugged it upwards, sending the jester into the air.

'Now, Blademon!' Killua thought, looking at his partner.

The Digimon caught his eye and raised his sword above his head before swinging it vertically downwards. "AIR SLASH!"

The cutting wave of energy flew towards Hisoka like a bullet. The jester's eyes widened as the attack made impact with his body, creating a cloud of smoke. Killua tugged back his yo-yo as he landed next to his partner, while their opponent's body crashed down on the floor a few feet away from them.

They never had any hopes of that being it, however, as Hisoka bounced on the floor and flipped mid-bounce to land on a crouch. Digging his feet on the earth beneath him to stop his momentum. To their credits, he did take damage, there were cuts and bruises around his body. But the smirk showcased just how of little importance that was for him.

A few stands away from the action, Maki observed. Gulping nervously as she observed the fight. 'Hisoka…'

"Superb team work, you two," Hisoka said, dusting his clothes off and wiping a string of blood on his lower lip. "He is your partner, right dear Killua?"

Killua's face didn't betray anything. Yet he found himself annoyed for that being pointed out by him of all people. 'It's not that hard to put together, but still…'

Blademon didn't say anything, he just kept his eyes narrowed at the jester.

"I am most jealous if that's the case," Hisoka grinned, rolling his head from side to side and rolling his shoulders. "I didn't have a partner in my time as the Anomaly. Someone to share my joys and triumphs… yet for you to just be with him right now… something must have happened, right?" He asked, putting a hand to his chin in thought

'What? Didn't Oikawa tell him?' Killua thought while keeping his annoyance at his words at bay. 'Probably because it wasn't necessary for taking Kari…'

Blademon growled at Hisoka's words, yet he didn't lash out. Now was not the time for that. 'I can't just rush blindly. Not with a guy like this.'

Hisoka linked his fingers and stretched his arms into the air. Then he put his hands on his knees and stretched them. "No matter, the warm up is done my boy." His eyes glistened dangerously. "Now… Blademon, was it?" He grinned and licked his lips. "Come."

He jumped into the air and brandished cards into his hands and threw them at the pair. The two jumped back, but to their surprise the cards flew back to Hisoka.

Killua's eyes widened and he focused Nen on his eyes to use Gyo. And just like he expected, Bungee Gum was coating the cards. However, they were not the only ones affected by Hisoka's Hatsu. Eyes widening in horror, the young Hunter turned to see a thread connected to his partner's torso and to the place where Hisoka was standing before his jump. 'Shit!'

'Bungee Gum, contract,' Hisoka thought with a smile as he caught his cards back.

Unable to fight it, Blademon was dragged towards the place on the ground where Bungee Gum was connected. 'When did he placed this thing in me?!' The Digimon's eyes widened when he remembered their first clash between them. The stomp he gave to his stomach. 'Shit! Back then…'

Blademon's torso was glued to the floor, no matter how much he struggled to get up, the Bungee Gum refused to budge. Hisoka smirked, he gave a twirl in the air and when gravity took hold of him once again, he aimed a knee to the Digimon's back.

Not on Killua's watch, though. The young Hunter propelled himself with Nen and aimed a kick to the side, the jester raised his forearm to block it. The strength behind the kick was enough to set him off-course and down to the ground, a few feet away from Blademon.

The Digimon himself, raised his sword and stabbed the ground around him, digging his weapon deep into the soil. "Air Slash!" The burst of energy broke the ground holding him down, the Bungee Gum still connected to his chest, but now limply hanging from it.

He got up and shook the dirt off him, just as Killua landed next to him. "Did he got you?" He asked the boy.

Killua looked at himself over with Gyo and nodded back at him. "I'm fine."

"Of course," Hisoka said, having landed graciously despite the kick. He took out his deck of cards and let them fall from one hand to another. "Doing the same trick over and over would get boring eventually, don't you think?"

The three stood still for a while. Before Blademon took the initiative and ran towards him, he aimed a stab towards the jester's abdomen, but Hisoka moved out of the way and grabbed the Digimon's right arm to hold him in place and give a kick to his gut. Blademon flinched, but the armor underneath his cloak absorbed most of the impact. Hisoka realized it too however, and swiftly gave him a knee strike to his chin, making Blademon's vision be filled with spots for a second.

Killua jumped into the fray, quite literally, taking a leap and aiming a Nen coated punch to his rival's head. Hisoka released Blademon and pushed him back, he coated his own arm with Nen to match Killua's raising it to block the punch.

The boy landed and tried attacking the clown with kicks, yet Hisoka easily blocked them or swat them out of the way. Killua tried to go for a punch, but the clown caught it and flipped the boy over his shoulder. The young Zoldyck winced in pain, and to add further injury, Hisoka stomped his stomach. Hard. "AGH!"

Blademon recovered, and seeing his downed partner being pinned down by the jester he growled and went for the offensive. Hisoka noticed him and moved away from the boy with the Digimon giving chase.

Blademon spun on himself, swinging his sword at the level of Hisoka's head, the clown ducking and avoiding the attempts of decapitation from the Digimon. Killua's partner swung it down vertically, but Hisoka leaped back, leaving the Digimon hitting the floor and causing it to crack. Hisoka sprung back towards his rival and summersaulted over him, landing behind his back and giving him a hammer punch to the face that left the Digimon dazed.

Killua recovered, or at the very least, managed to recompose himself and went to the aid of his partner. He dashed towards Hisoka who turned around and blocked his incoming attacks, every punch Killua threw was blocked or swatted away by the clown, until nailing a strong right hook that knocked the boy to the ground.

Hisoka smirked, but a growl caught his attention. He turned around just to receive a drop-kick to the face courtesy of Blademon, leaving him staggering back. Far from being relented by this, Hisoka smirked and licked his lips.

Taking the right angle, Hisoka propelled himself backwards with Nen and landed on the ceiling on one of the place's many stands. He stomped the floor hard and its surface collapsed, allowing him to get inside the stand.

Blademon growled and ran towards the stand, but Hisoka kicked the counter with enough strength to dislodge it and sent it towards him. Blademon rose his sword and cut the wooden counter without effort.

This was a diversion however, as Hisoka after kicking the counter jumped through the whole he made and sprang towards the Digimon. Blademon looked up in time to receive a right hook to the face that sent him flying towards a stand on the other side of the park.

Hisoka smirked. And more so when he moved out of the way, as from behind Killua had tried to use his sharpened nails to try and pierce his chest. The boy looked up at the face of the man in horror, just as said man had a look of pure glee and sheer bloodlust on it.

Killua's air left his stomach as Hisoka's leg crashed against it. Sending him flying upwards, and not satisfied with that he jumped to his height in the air and delivered an axe kick to his back. Making the poor boy crash against the floor.

He crashed painfully on the floor, a whine escaping his mouth as he felt his entire body going numb, soon followed by a mouthful of blood being spat out from his mouth. 'S-Shit…' He cursed, not having the strength to talk. 'I think my ribs cracked… Even with Godspeed, as long as he's covered with Bungee Gum my electricity will be null in him and he will get me stuck near his disgusting body…'

Hisoka landed near him and grabbed a fistful of the boy's hair. "Now then, Killua dear. You'll be coming with me~" He leered, getting his face way too close to Killua's comfort.

However, this battle was not over.

"TIGER'S HUNT!"

From the debris of the stand where he was thrown, Blademon emerged. Sword swirling with energy and dashing straight towards Hisoka.

The man let go of the boy's hair and looked in the Digimon's direction with surprise. With a roar, Blademon picked up speed as he dashed towards the jester.

The eyes of the Hunter widened as he felt the incoming bloodlust from his opponent. Few times has he actually felt in any real danger over the years, and right now, right off the bat, he could tell that this attack was unlike any other.

He jumped to the side, away from Killua. Allowing Blademon to pass harmlessly between the two of them. A tear on Hisoka's clothing seemed to be the only casualty from the attack. That and a small cut on his abdomen, a gash wound that let out a few drops of blood. 'It even managed to cut through Bungee Gum!' Hisoka though with surprise, then his lips quirked into a smile. 'Ah~ Digimon are such amazing creatures~ I wish a I could play more~' Then his eyes narrowed. 'However… if this is the best he has to offer then the fun's over. And with how close I am from getting my desired fight… I want to end this fast.'

Blademon cursed as he stared at his sword. Some blood was on it, meaning that it fulfilled its function of cutting its target. 'That bastard got lucky…' He couldn't use his full speed due to the damage he sustained during the fight. 'One more time, this time—" As he turned, his thoughts were cut short as Hisoka charged rapidly towards him with a card on his hand.

Blademon didn't have the time to concentrate on using Tiger's Hunt again, so he raised his sword and brought it down against Hisoka. The jester blocked the sword, infusing most of his Nen in the card between his fingers, parrying the attack and pushing Blademon back making him stagger. With this momentary moment of off-balance, Hisoka lands an elbow hit to his face, followed by a punch and abdomen. However, when hitting there, he found it harder than other areas.

He ducked and used his card to slash the abdomen of the Digimon horizontally, only to feel metal against metal—or Nen infused paper against metal, whatever. The cloaked was teared however, and Hisoka got a look at the armor. 'Of course. That's how it is.'

Before Blademon could recover from the blows, Hisoka brandished another card and stabbed in the back of the Digimon's shoulder. "AGH!"

Hisoka grabbed the back of the cloak and teared it away, revealing the entirety of Blademon's armor to him and the weak spots he could strike. Blademon wasn't done however, he focused energy on his sword and aimed it at the floor. "Air Slash!"

A small explosion took place that separated the two. Blademon tried to ignore the pain on his stabbed shoulder. He turned around to see his opponent, only for his eyes to widen in horror and realization.

Hisoka had recovered swiftly in the moment of the explosion and took advantage of the distance made between him and his opponent to brandish his cards and aim before throwing them like sharp daggers.

Both biceps, the tights, the shoulders, and hands were all injured by the cards. These digging deep into the Digimon's flesh. "RAAAGH!"

And with his opponent Immobilized by the pain, Hisoka landed the coup de grâce by closing the distance and landing a powerful punch straight to his. Sending the Digimon backwards and causing his body to glow and shrink.

Killua, who had been watching the fight while his body recovered from Hisoka's attack, observed with horror as his partner was defeated in battle. "BLADEMON!"

A smaller form of Blademon was now lying on the dirt. Battered and bruise and with his form flicking. Another attack and he'll be done. And Hisoka was more than happy to oblige.

"Goodbye, little Digimon," The magician mocked as he raised his foot to stomp him down.

However, a dash of lightning blindsided him and took away the little Digimon. Hisoka blinked and looked back to see that Killua was gone. He grinned and shook his head. "Cheeky little kid."

With Blademon—or rather his Rookie form—on his back, Killua tried to make his escape. However, with his ribs injured he couldn't hold Godspeed and move as freely as he wished, and with the added weight of his partner on his back he was afraid he wasn't going to make it that far.

He passed by various food and game stands, and through some of the attractions of the carnival. Always looking over his shoulder to make sure Hisoka was not behind him, and keeping his senses sharp to feel him at any moment.

Sweat fell down and he closed one eye to avoid sweat from falling, and gritted his teeth to ignore the pain of his fractured ribs stabbing him in his chest. He looked at the form of the Rookie Blademon, the cards were still imbedded in their zone of impact, but the blood was still dripping from them, immediately turning into specks of data. 'Shit! Shit! SHIT!' The boy panicked. He wasn't at his best and his partner was bleeding out at a slow rate, and since they weren't in the Digital World his death would be… permanent…

'FUCKING SHIT!' He thought angrily as he rounded around a corner. The situation was already bad with just being caught in this hellhole of a world, now why did Hisoka had to continue to chase him?!

He scanned his surroundings. He was near a Merry-Go-Round and some food stands. 'Why are there so many of those in this shitting place?!' He thought with hysterical despair, looking around for an exit out of the park.

"Kukuku…" That laugh made his blood freeze. He turned around to see Hisoka emerging from behind one of the stands, his ever-present grin on his face. "Stop with the running, Killua dear. It's getting dull."

Killua's breath hitched on his throat. He readjusted the weight of his partner on his back. 'Fuck…' He summoned his Ren and tried to use Godspeed again, however his reserves where too low for it.

Hisoka chuckled as he took a step forward. "Both of us want the same, dear Killua. To go back home, right?" He said, his semblant turning slightly sour as he spoke. "I gave you the chance to find a way back for the two of us to go back, but it seems you weren't able to come up with anything…" He sighed in mock disappointment. "Maybe I was asking to much out of you."

He brandished a card as if it was a knife, and smirked evilly again. "But that doesn't matter right now. Come or I'll come for you~"

Gritting his teeth, Killua knew that there was no winning for him in this situation. If he gives up and goes with him, then he'll kill Blademon and who knows what Dagomon will do with him when he's at his mercy. And if he sets Blademon aside and tries to fight then there's almost no chance of him winning this.

"K-Killua…" Killua tensed as he heard a new, squeaky voice coming from behind. Two tiny hands tightened around his shirt. He almost didn't dare to look, but he willed himself to.

The reduced form of Blademon was struggling to remain awake. Beads of sweat dapping his fur and his one open eye shaking with the pain his wounds caused him. Still found the strength in itself to talk. "Put me down… I-I'll fight him… run away…"

Killua's eyes widened and then settled on a scowl. "Are you an idiot or something?! Look at you! We couldn't beat him when you were Blademon, much less when you are injured and in a weaker state!"

"I… I have to… protect you…" The tiny tiger Digimon said between pants, trying to get off Killua's back, only for the boy to tightened it. "

Killua continued scowling at him. Shifting his eyes between his now awaken partner and Hisoka, who was watching them with a raised eyebrow. "You don't have to do jack-shit. I can take care of myself!"

Yet the Rookie refused to listen to reason, he tried to push himself again. "I have to…!" He didn't seem to care for the way his wounds aggravated and the blood falling that soon became particles. "Run… Killua…!"

"I WON'T!" Killua finally yelled at him, gripping him tighter. "I'm not leaving you and running away, you hear me!? If I am going to fight this guy then at the least, I am making sure that you are safe in one way or the other!" He glared at Hisoka, who now bored an amused smirk, his arms crossed in a condescending way. "I know this is beyond us at this point but… I'm not going to leave you by yourself, Blademon. You hear me?!"

The Rookie stopped his struggles as he heard his words. Suddenly, to the tiny Digimon flashes of his fake life came rushing back. That of the moment where his 'hatred' was born. When Killua left him behind, betrayed him, left him to deal with a monster beyond their strength.

This situation was similar, they were on the backfoot, and without any chance of getting out of this. But unlike the Killua from those fake memories, this one didn't look scared. He was, he could feel it, but it didn't let it control him.

He knew it wasn't much. That it was just words but… he thought back to his worries back in the cave. Worries that if push came to shove, Killua would leave him behind like in his head, but here he was—refusing to leave him. It wasn't much but…

'But…' Toramon clung Killua's shirt like his life depended on it, his body shaking from the overwhelming emotions. His mind ignoring the pain on his wounds for a moment, as hope blossomed in his chest and tears gathered around his eyes. 'But I want this… I WANT THIS SO BADLY!'

He didn't know if he deserved it. No, he knew he doesn't deserve it after the damage he's done. But he wanted this, even if he didn't know what this was with exactitude, he wanted it so badly!

Sadly, it wasn't the time for him to dwell into these newfound feelings. As Hisoka started to clap his hands with exaggeration, making Toramon tense as he momentarily forgot the enemy was still too close to them. Killua didn't flinch, but he was clearly unnerved by the clown's sudden actions.

"Ah~ how moving!" Hisoka crooned. He stopped clapping and put a hand to his face, covering it as if he was concealing tears. "Such is the bond between a Chosen Children and their Digimon partner." He dropped his hand and smirked at the two. "I know for a fact that those bonds can carry one really far…"

From behind one of the stands where she has been hiding, Maki scowled at the man's words. Feeling the mockery behind them.

Ignorant to her anger, Hisoka continued. "You have moved me so, that I have a proposal for you, my boy. Come with me and I'll tend to your partner's wounds—after knocking him unconscious of course—and spare his life if you stop this nonsense and stop running."

Killua's response was one straight to the point. Lift his leg and stomp hard into the ground until a cloud of dust was lifted. He sprinted out of it with as much speed as he could muster, grimacing in pain as he felt his ribs straining under the constant movement of his body.

However, this proved to be useless.

"Bad choice~" Hisoka in an instant caught up to them. Running right next to Killua. The clown reared his fist back, aura coating it.

Killua stopped, and shifted his body in a way where he would be the one to tank the attack and leave his partner out of it. He used Ken and strengthened his aura as much as he could.

The attack impacted right on his solar plexus. Killua's eyes bulged and he gritted his teeth to avoid the air leaving his body. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, never losing his footing and risking bouncing on his back and damaging his partner even further.

Once his momentum stopped, he turned tail and ran. Passing by yet another stand, and always looking over his shoulder to keep tabs on Hisoka. That's when he noticed that the clown was not running, no he was just walking towards them with hunger on his eyes.

Killua realized what that meant. What Hisoka was saying just with his body language. He knew they wouldn't make it far, not with his partner hurt and with Killua having bruises all over his body that limited his movement as well as his Nen abilities. They were easy prey to the dangerous predator that was Hisoka.

Killua gritted his teeth and his hands clenched around his partner's legs, where he held him to keep him from falling. 'Is this as far as we go?' He thought in despair. 'There's no solution out of this. I'm not leaving Blademon to run on my own, but with him on this state and my injuries I can't get far. And even if I leave Blademon, Hisoka would either ignore him or kill him and continue to chase me. Should I have taken his offer? At least I would have gotten closer to Dagomon but… No, I would have been in too much of a disadvantage against this world's so called 'God'. No matter what I did, it was a lose-lose situation!'

Yet despite of the weight of the situation settling in, Killua refused to stop running. He wasn't going to go down without a fight, but first he had to make sure his partner was safe. Or at the very least as safe as he could be in this world that's out to get the two of them.

Yet when he turned around again, he paled. Hisoka had started running towards them at full speed. And with how fast he was going, he was going to catch up to them soon. Killua infused his legs with Nen, hoping in vain that it would help him outrun the clown, even though deep down he knew it was impossible.

He wasn't going to give up. He refused to just give Hisoka and Dagomon the satisfaction to take him out. He still had to return home with his sisters, make up for the lost time with Blademon, tell Gon about his new adventures in the Digital World, to see the other Digidestined again.

He wanted to—

"Rosetta Stone!"

"Missile Storm"

"Shooting Stars!"

—Look up just in time to see three attacks impact in front of Hisoka. Stopping him in his tracks and lifting a curtain of smoke. He felt as a huge weight has been lift from his shoulders as three figures descended from the sky and other six dismounted them. His face nothing short of pure, blissful relief as he finally saw some friendly and familiar faces.

"Sorry for the wait, Sparky!" Davis grinned at him as he climbed out, V-Mon pumping his fists at his side. The grin fell and he let his Ren out. "But better later than never I guess…"

Yolei, Ken and Cody with their respective partners stood protectively in front of Killua along with Davis, and let their Ren burst out as well in a show of defiance. Kari and T.K for their part move straight to the boy's side.

"I'm glad to see you're okay," T.K said, smiling at the boy.

"You are okay, right?" Kari asked worriedly, looking him over. Killua felt flustered when she got really close looking for injuries. "You're not injured?"

"I—" He coughed. "My ribs are hurt thanks to Hisoka," at her alarmed look he had to elaborate. "But never mind that now. He needs help more than I do!" He exclaimed, gesturing to who he was carrying.

They both followed their gazes. T.K tensed a bit when he saw who it was, its Rookie form sharing enough similarities to his usual form to put the pieces together. While Kari nodded without hesitating.

"Okay," she told him. "Put him down, I'll do my best."

Killua nodded and settled his partner down. "I'll leave it to you."

With that out of the way, he turned around with T.K to the cloud of smoke. They moved to stand next to their friends, who had taken out their Digivices and looked ready to give their partners the go. All the Armored Digimon regressed back to their base forms to access the Ultra level, or beyond in T.K and Patamon's case if necessary.

"Fufufu…" The dust cleared and Hisoka, with his Bungee Gum aura surrounding him smirked at them. "So, Killua's cavalry has arrived. Tell me, my children, how much have you improved since our last meeting?"

None of the kids answered, all of them just giving Hisoka nervous glares. He rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck. His eyes looked behind them, to the Child of Light who was kneeling next to the Digimon he stabbed with his cards.

"My child, are you not joining us?" When Kari heard him, she knew he was talking to her and her whole body became rigid. "After all the troubles to bring you heard, you ended up coming here on your own volution. I think I deserve a small compensation~"

Gatomon's eyes narrowed and she let out a dangerous hiss. The other kids now acted as a shield between the two. The Digimon all looking ready to evolve and get another round again the dangerous Hunter.

For her part, Kari sent a nervous look to her friends before focusing back to the Digimon in front of her. Her hands pressed against his chest, after pulling out the cards imbedded in his body. At first, she wasn't sure her Specialist Ability would work on a Digimon, but those doubts went away when she saw the wounds closing slowly.

She knew that when she finishes healing Blademon—Or whatever name he has in this form, she didn't know—she would be losing stamina as the price for her ability, she didn't know if Gatomon and she could become Ophanimon if she was weakened, and they needed everything with them to beat Hisoka.

Yet something still didn't make sense for her as Hisoka got ready to fight them. "Why are you still working for whoever rules this world?" She voiced her thoughts. "I… I am already here, just like they wanted so… Why are you still here?"

Hisoka stopped to look at her. He cocked his head to the side and shrugged his shoulder. "Is it that complicate to understand?" He asked. "Dagomon brought me here and he can sent me back my world. I bet Killua here understands the feeling, right my boy?" He asked with a wink of an eye.

His only response was a glare.

Kari however blinked, and she wasn't the only one, almost all her friends did the same. "So… If you could go home, you would leave us alone…?" She asked slowly.

Hisoka looked at Killua and smirked. "I already spoke about this with my dear Killua. I had once put my bets on him since I had my reservations of Dagomon keeping his end of the deal, and I gave him a time limit to before the end of this year to find a way back for me. Or else I'll kill him and take you, my dear Child of Light, right to my benefactor." His eyes narrowed and his mouth pulled into a frown. "Since he is here, with no known way of pulling us back that doesn't involve defeating Dagomon, I guess that bet was for naught."

"No, it wasn't!" Yolei was the one to exclaim, making both of the Hunters to look at her in surprise.

"Hmm?"

"Killua," Ken started, looking at the boy. "Before we came here, Gennai told us that… it's done. The way back to your world is ready."

Killua was robbed of words at the moment, his eyes widened and his stance lowering. "R-Really…?"

"Of course!" Kari told him, he turned to see her giving him a bright smile. "You can go home, Killua…"

Killua felt himself shaking. He… He was going home. Alluka… Nanika… He was going to see them again; he was going to hold them in his arms and make sure they weren't apart ever again. He clenched his fists and turned around. 'This is not the time to be emotional, damnit!' He thought, fighting back tears of relief, relief that his greatest grievance for over a year was finally coming to an end.

He turned around, looking at Hisoka and to his surprise he dropped his Nen and gave a sigh. "Heh. Seems I jumped the gun, as one would say. If this truly works then I suppose there's no reason for me to continue working for Dagomon."

"Dagomon…" T.K muttered, realizing that for the first time the others and him finally learned the name of who was pulling the strings behind this world.

"HOLD IT!" A voice screeched from behind Hisoka's back. He turned around and the kids focused on the newcomer. Maki had emerged from her hiding spot from the fight, a furious scowl present in her face as she glared daggers at Hisoka. "What about my part of the deal, huh?!" She demanded.

"W-Who is she?" Yolei asked to her friends, confused.

Killua's head put the pieces together, remembering the day T.K and Kari achieved Matrix Evolution. "The woman Matt and Tai talked about…" He said in realization, before his face morphed into a scowl. "The one who shot Tai."

Those who weren't present gasped at the information, staring at the woman with renewed caution, and T.K's face morphed into a similar scowl to Killua's. The white-haired boy turned around to check on Kari after the reveal.

She was glaring at the woman, her brow furrowed and her chocolate eyes burning in a way Killua wasn't familiar with, at least coming from her. However, she was obviously not able to muster much more strength behind the glare, she had sweat dripping down from her face as a result of her Specialist ability.

Speaking of which, Killua felt relief seeing his partner sitting up. He hasn't gone back to his usual form, but at the very least his wounds were gone. The Digimon looked at Kari with a conflicted look on his face, but before he could say anything, Maki yelled again.

"I can't do this without you, Hisoka!" The woman poked a finger to his chest. Glaring a hole directly in his face with her glare. "You have to keep your part of the deal so I can get what I want!"

Hisoka grabbed her hand and put it away from him, while giving her an uncaring look. "I already have my part of the deal fulfilled. I will go back to my world, to where I was supposed to go."

"But—" She gritted out, looking at him with a look full of hurt. Behind them, the Digidestined felt uncomfortable as if they were in the middle of something personal. "But what about Tapirmon…?" She asked, gritting her teeth.

"Tapirmon…?" Cody turned to his friends, confused.

Killua put a hand to his chin. Looking between Hisoka and the woman. His eyes lit in realization as a memory struck him across the face. When Homeostasis first possessed Kari five years ago, and showed them the final battle between the Original Digidestined and the Dark Masters. The girl whose partners couldn't be reborn…

'It's her!' He thought. The pieces were falling into place. 'Tapirmon must have been her partner, and after that battle they must have lost contact with the Digital World like we did before the Digiport. If Dagomon could send Hisoka to the Digital World from this place, then it could do the same for this woman. She wants to go there for her partner… she doesn't know he can't be reborn and always lived with the doubt or she knows but wants to find a way to bring it back…?' Voicing this didn't help the situation nor did it defuse the situation between Hisoka and her.

"I'm sure you'll figure out something on your own, Maki dearest," Hisoka said, shrugging his shoulders and smiling carelessly at her. "If Oikawa wins then maybe he'll bring you to the Digital World. So root for her."

"Why you…!" Her glare became thunderous. Her hand shot towards her hips, the kids gasped as she pulled out a gun and aimed it straight to Hisoka's forehead. "How about now?!"

Hisoka's composure didn't falter in the slightest, the look on his face looked disappointment more than anything. He sighed and shook his head. "Maki dear by this point you should know…"

In a swift motion, the gun was forced out of her hand. Hisoka was gripping her wrist and twisting her hand in a painful manner. Maki let out a gasp as she gritted her teeth. "Agh…!"

"I dislike being threatened by such dangerous things…" He said in a tone full of disappointment.

The kids tensed, and got ready to fight. Even if the woman was working with their enemy, they just couldn't stand by and do nothing. Even Kari had stood up on her feet even if she hasn't had the time to recover from healing Killua's partner, who seemed ready to evolve back to his normal form if necessary.

"Hum?" However, Hisoka's eyes widened as he stared down at his own hand. He let go of Maki who staggered back while holding her wrist, she also stared at the man with wide eyes.

Hisoka's hand flickered like the image of a broken TV, and soon all his body did the same. It was a sigh familiar to everyone present, yet it usually meant being sent to the same world where they were in. So, what did this meant…?

"Disappointing…" Squelching footsteps accompanied the cold voice that broke through the group's surprise. They turned to see a Deadmon walking towards them, its arms long and dragging across the floor. "You are of not use anymore to me and my kind then, Hisoka Morrow."

Not liking the tone he was being talked to, Hisoka's eyes narrowed at the possessed Deadmon. "So what? Planning to eliminate me?" He asked in a low tone.

"Something far simpler," The Deadmon said, raising an arm to the sky and then bringing it down. "Begone!"

Before they could even blink, Hisoka was gone. Vanished from that world of darkness and leaving behind confusing and perplexity.

Maki had recovered her gun and aimed it at the Deadmon. "You…!" She growled. "What did you do to him?!"

The creature shook by merely chuckling, like it was going to dissolve at any moment. "He thought me unreliable to fulfill my end of the deal, so I just proved him wrong. He was no longer necessary and, in the end, perhaps I did ask more than I needed him for…" Its eyes zeroed on Kari, who met its gaze trying hard not to flinch. "The Child of Light is here at last… And there are more ways to get rid of those who have trespassed into my realm."

A tremor rocked their feet, the group looked around to see some of the food stands collapsing and falling into holes in the ground. "W-what the heck is…?!" Davis exclaimed only to be cut short by a yelp. "A-AAAH!"

"Shit!" Killua exclaimed as the area where they were standing collapsed. The floor gave away to a giant whole with no bottom on sight.

As one all the Digidestined fell along with Maki. Meanwhile the possessed Deadmon stood on the edge as the rest of the park collapsed, its red eyes glaring down at the group falling down the hole, unblinking.

"I knew Morrow's trust wasn't certain, so I took measurements in finding a way to bring you to me, my subjects have dug these tunnels all connected to my castle. Survive, use the methods you wish, find me or perish in the process…" As it spoke, the children looked around, there were holes at the sides of the abyss where Deadmon with the appearance of Drimogemon were digging away; the ones responsible for this trap.

"A new era for my kind has come," he told them, as its body began to dissolve. "The sacrifice of this servant and your deaths are a stepping stone in what I know will be a time of prosperity in this once desolated, stagnant world full of shadows."

The Digidestined listened to his worlds, even as they descended deeper and deeper into this trap. Hawkmon and Patamon tried to fly towards their partners, to at least help them float up, but from the holes they could see more red eyes watching from the shadows if they try anything they would be attacked; they were surrounded.

'Shit!' Killua thought in anger, as the shadows completely enclosed them. He couldn't see a thing by this point. He didn't even know how they were going to survive this fall. 'SHIT!' They got rid of one problem in the form of Hisoka and got a newer one with whatever Dagomon was planning.

What little light existed above in the surface of the dark world soon diminished the deeper they descent and soon, the group would face one of their harder tasks to date.

Dagomon opened its eyes as its connection to one of its subjects, one of the weaker ones was cut short. The being whose mind it took hold of was as weak as its body, but it got the job done. It will be remembered when their world enters its new era of prosperity.

"Now then…" It mused, raising one of its hands and detaching a part of its muddy body letting several parts of itself drop to the floor.

The pieces writhed in the floor, morphing and shifting until taking on amorphous shapes. They didn't look like the other inhabitants of its world, but that was exactly the point of their existence.

"You might not have the power of the Daemon Corps, but you don't need it my children," Dagomon told them, giving them a scrutinizing look. "You are to feed off the Digidestined's fears individually. Make them reach their breaking point. If they break then demoralize them, defeat them, assimilate them! And if they don't… then they'll grow… And I am counting on that…"

Its new creations slithered down the hallway, entering the tunnels that its subjects had created.

"I know all about your new powers, Digidestined, all thanks to my Daemon Corps' sacrifice. Child of Light… Your light will be assimilated and when I give new life to my Deadmon, our days of devouring each other will be gone. And when we are able to move on from these dark times… other worlds will learn of our new strength… Hehehehe AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" It laughed. A putrid, hollow sound that resonated within the chambers of its palace.

A rock was smashed by a Nen coated fists, and Yukio Oikawa couldn't feel better with himself after that even if he tried.

"Yessss!" He clenched his fists and looked around the thrashed room with satisfaction. "I can feel it! The power of these dark waters has given me new strength!" He looked down at himself.

There were noticeable… side-effects after drinking the waters from the ponds. First came the… excruciating pain. He felt like his insides were coiling, bubbling and burning after drinking the water.

He had clawed at his own throat and chest, trying to get the water out of him. To revert the process of drinking it and ripping it right out of his system.

Then… nothing. He thought he was dead for a moment, but when he stood up he realized what came next after surviving such a torturous torment. Parts of his body had become pitch black, like his arms, parts of his torso and his legs.

But it was worthy. He felt stronger, he felt faster, he felt… felt…!

"Urk!" He doubled over, clutching his chest and abdomen. "N-No…! I already survived this once…! This will not bring me down!"

The searing pain slowly subside, he panted and stood up straight. "Okay… I can work with this… This will not destroy me…!"

"You are strong, Yukio. Really, strong. Not only in body thanks to the waters, but in will and mind for you to endure the process." The soothing voice of his master told him. Almost like a proud parent. "If the pain ever becomes too much let me handle it."

"You will have control soon, sir," Oikawa said, wiping his mouth from the saliva that dripped after his outburst. "You are the one who can use the Abilities I honed over the years to its fullest, and the one who has the right to use them."

He turned to the tank where BlackMetalGarurumon was recovering. His wounds almost gone and soon ready to be used for their plans. He placed a hand on the surface of the tank. "We are finally so… ack… close…!"

He clutched his chest, fighting down the pain.

'Rest Yukio,' His master told him. Oikawa slid down to the floor; his back pressed to the tank. 'Our plans will reach its end sooner than you expect.'

Oikawa closed his eyes a smile plastered on his face. Ignoring the way black liquid leaked from his nose and mouth. "Yes… Soon I'll go to the Digital World~ I can hardly wait~" He sang quietly to himself, while laughing what he thought was a joyful laugh. Though anyone else who hears it will find it broken and sad…

Hisoka blinked, once, twice. He looked around, he was in a hallway. He looked at his hands, he wasn't gray anymore. He looked ahead and his eyes widened.

The Heaven's Arena was right in front of him.

"THIS IS AN UNPRECEDENT BATTLE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" The announcer said. "TWO FLOOR MASTERS ARE ABOUT TO FACE ONE ANOTHER IN WHAT PROMISES TO BE THE SHOWNDOWN OF A LIFE TIME!"

"Oh, my lord. YES~!" Hisoka grinned, raising his hands in triumph before being seen by the public. He took a deep breath to regain his composure and walked forward.

"ON THE WEST ENTRANCE WE HAVE NONE OTHER THAN OUR FAVORITE MAGICIAN, SOMEONE WHO ALWAYS STEALS THE SHOW!" The announcer said, his voice booming over the deafening roaring of the audience. "HIIIIIIISOKAAAAAAAAA MORROOOOOOWWWWW!"

Hisoka grinned as he stepped into the ring, his eyes, keen as ever seeing a silhouette in the opposite entrance. He Was Here~

"AND ON THE OTHER SIDE: HE'S ENIGMATIC, MYSTERIOUS, AND BOY DOES HE LOOK GOOD WITH HIS HAIRD DOWN!" Seems his opponent was popular with the ladies with how hard they were screeching. "HE IS CHROOOOOOLOOOOOOO LUUUUUUUCIIIIIIIIFEEEEEEEERRRRRRR!"

Chrollo calmly made his way to the ring. Hands in his pockets and a neutral look on his face. As usual, he was hard to read, even for Hisoka.

When he was in front of him, Hisoka couldn't help but let out an exhale. He closed his eyes and forced himself to be calm, he could get worked as they fought but it was always good to start with a calm head.

"Finally," He said, looking at Chrollo with hunger. "My wish came true."

Luckily I'm already on a break so maybe I won't leave you waiting for a chapter another month…

Next update will be A Fallen Knight. So give it a read if you want.

Love you. BYE!
