Here we are at a brand new story. You guys asked for it, so here it is. It's RWBY KEPL Ice Queendom, featuring my very own Team KEPL. I was waiting for the right time to start this one. Of course, Team KEPL will be in their Beacon outfits, and their character and personalities will be just like back then too to fit with the story. Anyway, I do not own RWBY Ice Queendom. They belong to their respective owners. I only own my OCs. Here's chapter 1. Enjoy.
Chapter 1: Blue, Red, Purple, Gray
...Legends. Stories scattered and forgotten through time. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful. An inevitable darkness; creatures of destruction, the Creatures of Grimm, set their sights on Man and all of his creations. Man was hunted by the grimm and just when it seemed like man's brief existence might return to the void, the smallest spark of hope brought forth great change. Man used his passion, his resourcefulness, and his ingenuity to uncover a new power, appropriately named Dust. Man thus lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came civilization and life...
…
At an outpost of the White Fang far outside the kingdom of Vale, explosions ring out throughout the complex. Walls crumble, bodies fall, and fires burn. Members of the White Fang who have not already fallen or have not yet evacuated ready their weapons as a lone figure walks calmly through the fire.
"Just who the Hell is this guy?!" one member asks no one in particular.
A blonde-haired young man wearing a blue and black coat over clothing of similar color walks forth, wielding a pair of two swords with blue lightning bolt designs on the flat sides of the blades walks forth. The blades show a serrated edge as he cocks the gun mechanisms on them. The boy's blue eyes spark bolts around them as he draws closer.
"I am Khazhak Rairyu, and you've harmed enough innocent people. Judgment has come for you," Khazhak mutters, lightning coursing around his blades from his semblance.
"Damn human. You'll pay for this!" the extremists fire their weapons at the boy.
Khazhak charges forth, dodging or deflecting the bullets with his blades. He nears one soldier and spins, slashing through his rifle with his right sword and follows it up with a slash across the Faunus' chest with his left. He kicks off the falling enemy, flipping in the air as he makes a double-downward slash on a second Faunus that tries and fails to shoot him down. Two White Fang members attack his flanks with swords, but he blocks both of their attacks. His swords are aimed perfectly and he pulls their triggers, shooting the members in the arms, causing them to drop their blades. He kicks one into a nearby crate and makes a cross slash across the second. Three more fire their guns at him, but he runs around the bullets. Blue lightning flows around his blades. He swings them, sending out several lightning bolts at his foes. The attack shocks and rips through all three, leaving none standing. Khazhak glances to his left, seeing one member aim a rocket launcher at him. They fire, and the missile streaks towards him. Khazhak aims his left blade and fires off a shot, blowing the rocket up in mid-air. The goon tries to reload, but Khazhak bursts through the smoke, slamming his fist into the thug's face and into a wall. Khazhak looks back as several more White Fang members appear, weapons at the ready. Khazhak combines his blades into their greatsword form, charging up his semblance. The lightning engulfs the blade as it reaches its peak.
"Final Verdict: Guilty..." Khazhak mutters before swinging down his sword, sending out a twister of lightning at them.
A huge explosion rips the building apart, the taking down anyone caught in it. Khazhak walks through the fire and brimstone, making sure that all White Fang members that he can see are dead. After making sure the job is done, Khazhak leaves the area, his eyes set on his next objective.
"Those who harm innocent people... will face my judgment,"
…
In one part of an unnamed city, thugs in black suits force one man on the ground after beating the Hell out of him.
"I was sure we told you that there's a late fee if you can't pay your dues on time, my good sir. Didn't you read the fine print after we made our little deal?" the apparent leader of the group, with cigar and cane and all, smirks.
"I-I-I'm sorry. I won't... I won't be late again... I swear," the victim weakly replies.
"For your family's sake, I hope so. Bloodshed isn't exactly a good look for business, wouldn't you say. Come along, boys. We're done here," the crime boss says before he and is goons leave the beaten man behind.
Unbeknownst to them, a lone figure on a nearby rooftop watches the whole thing go down. Back at the crime boss' place, a local night club with a fancy bar towards the back, the boss enjoys a nice bottle of scotch while his men are either drinking, playing billiards, or looking over the money they collected from their recent business. Outside his room, several guards stand guard for any possible intruders. Though, no one would be crazy enough to attack them... right? The guards look up when they hear some noise up front at the other end of the hall. They look to see one of their own crashing through a door, his face a bloody mess. A new figure walks through the doorway, walking over the downed goon. The figure has a hood up, but they see a metal skull-like mask covering his face, red eyes glowing. The figure takes out a twin-scythe, twirling it around.
"Pardon the interruption, gentlemen," he speaks in a robotic voice from the mask. "But, I believe I have an appointment with your boss. His final appointment," the figure notes menacingly.
The guards take out their pistols and start firing off shots, spooking the men in the boss' room. The figure spins his twin-scythe in front of him like a shield to block the shots as he rushes them. He cuts down each and every one of them as he gets closer to his goal. Inside the boss' room, the rest hear the screaming, the horror, followed by more screaming. After a few moments, everything goes quiet.
"Go check it out, now!" the boss orders the two closest to the door.
They take out their guns and slowly approach the door. Just as one is about to open it, the door comes open as several red skull phantoms fly through. The goons fire at the skulls, but the bullets don't have much effect. The skulls hit and pass through each guard before disappearing. What the boss notices is that while the men seem unharmed, they suddenly grab their heads and start screaming, falling onto the ground and convulsing. The boss looks horrified by the sight until the figure in the skull mask enters the room. His twin-scythe comes down on any too close to him, blood smearing the floor. The boss takes out a sawed-off shotgun from underneath his table, but the figure fires off a knife attached to a metal wire from one of his scythe heads. The blade skewers the shotgun and pulls it out of his grasp. Now, the boss is scared. Especially since those buddies of his that aren't dead yet still haven't gotten back up from those strange skulls.
"What do you want?! You want money, boos, women? I can get you anything you want. Just name your price! I know, you want me to leave? Okay, I'll leave. I'll go wherever you want me to. Just name the place!" the boss is slumped against a wall, begging for his life now.
The figure raises his twin-scythe, "How about... you go to Hell," and he swings his weapon down.
…
The hooded figure leaves the building after finishing his work and makes his exit.
"Impressive," he turns to find Khazhak Rairyu standing before him. "With those bastards gone, the people here won't have to live in fear anymore. From them at least,"
"You're not with them, are you," the figure figures out.
"No, I'm not. What's your name?" Khazhak asks.
"Edom... Edom Soul Reaper," Reaper says as he turns to Khazhak, who smirks.
…
In the streets of Mantle, near the outer wall, civilians are making a run for it as several grimm make entry into the city through one of the holes in the wall. The wall has a number of these openings, and those in Atlas simply refuse to lend the materials, the dust, or the money, to help fix it. Beowolves race through, looking for easy humans and Faunus to prey upon. As one human falls over some debris, a Beowolf stalks closer and prepares for the kill. The grimm pounces, only for a blade to impale itself through the top of its skull and into the ground. The human looks up to see a young man in black and purple clothing, wearing an eyepatch with a strange symbol over his right eye, and a metal backpack with arms that attach to his own and are equipped with a pair of blades and full-auto rifles.
"Go, get out of here!" the boy yells before turning to the approaching grimm.
The beasts all turn to him and charge at the new quarry. The boy raises his arms and fires off his rifles, taking out a few of the monsters with a rain of bullets alone. Two Beowolves get closer and jump with their claws out. The boy jumps and flips over their attack, landing behind them. He spins around low, slicing off their legs with his blades. Once the grimm are down, he finishes them off with a few bullets before turning to the rest. He runs at another charging grimm, flipping over it while swinging his right blade around to take its head off. Landing, he jumps to the side to avoid an Ursa trying to crush him. The Ursa roars, but he aims his rifles and takes some shots. The bullets damage it, but they don't kill it just yet. The boy can't finish the job when a second Ursa comes in from the side. He rolls out of the way and looks between them and a few Beowolves entering the fray. Purple rings appear around the boy's arms and weapons. The Beowolves charge, but he spins around, firing off a few shots at each. As soon as the shots land, they create spherical dark purple weights and pull the grimm to the ground. The grimm struggle, but can't get back up from the added load.
"That should hold you for a bit," the boy mutters before seeing the Ursai attack him.
He backflips over the downed grimm and fires off a few more gravity shots at the Ursai, forcing them down. The boy jumps and spins in the air, swinging his blades around as he flies over the downed grimm, slicing them all into pieces. Landing back on the ground, he looks around to see only a few grimm left. After a few more minutes of fighting, the boy has cleared the area of grimm. Breathing a sigh of relief, the boy looks back as the chaos subside and sees people starting to come out of the woodworks. However, instead of seeing looks of relief or gratitude for saving them, the boy only sees looks of contempt and hatred. The boy sighs, because he knows why they look at him in such a way; not to mention this isn't the first time. The boy leaves the area before the authorities arrive, hiding out in an alleyway. Once he's alone, he punches a wall, sparks of purple embers emitting from the symbol on his eyepatch.
"Why? No matter how much I help... No matter how much I save them, they still hate me. All because of what I am. Because of something that was outside my own control. Why? Why was I born like this?!" the boy mutters, punching the wall a few more times.
"Punching the wall's not going to help," a voice rounds out. The boy engages his weapons and aims them at a blonde-haired young man standing in the alleyway with him. "And that won't help either. I'm not your enemy,"
"Who are you? Someone from Atlas Academy come to bring me in?" the boy asks, not dropping his rifles.
"As if I'd ever enroll at a stupid place like that. My name is Khazhak Rairyu. You are Porphyrius Darkwing, I presume," Khazhak introduces himself.
Porphyrius hesitates, "What do you want?"
"I know who you are, and what you are. A Half-Faunus, a being thought to have never existed on Remnant. And because of that... you're hated by both sides," Khazhak says.
Porphyrius lowers his weapons now, "Yeah, I'm a half-breed. Go ahead, say it! Say I'm a monster or a freak!" he yells.
"I don't care what you are; only what you do. I judge people based upon their actions. You protect people despite the way they treat you. You're braver and better than they could ever be. I offer you this choice: stay here and continue to fight for those who will never welcome you as one of their own. Or..." he extends his hand. "Join me, and become part of a group that will never judge you for your origins, only your actions. Help do more good with me than you could ever do alone. The choice is yours,"
Porphyrius looks between the hand and Khazhak. Thinking for a long moment, he slowly raises his hand and accepts Khazhak's offer.
…
In the frozen tundra of Solitas, near a few mountains, a plume of smoke rises into the night skies. A loan facility is engulfed in flames. Debris and machines are splayed everywhere, and even a few bodies are seen as they're being buried by the snow. A lone figure wearing grey armor runs from the destroyed facility. The boy looks back seeing several Atlesian robots pursuing him.
"Ugh, I'm getting sick of this crap," he stops and turns to face them, engaging his clawed gauntlets. "Come on, I'll scrap all of you!"
"Subject 86, you are not permitted to exit the facility. Surrender or die," one robot says as they all aim their arm guns at him.
"The facility is toast and you still want me back. Fat chance. You want me, come and get me!" the boy taunts them.
They fire their weapons at him, but his body becomes encased in steel armor; the shots bouncing off of him. He charges, firing off a few shots from his gauntlets that damage a few of them. When he gets close, he swings his right arm, shredding through one machine completely and leaving it in segments. He turns to throw a left punch to a second robot's head, and then grabs the arm of a third as it tries to stab him with an arm blade. The boy disengages his semblance and then rips the arm off before stabbing it back through the machine's chest and kicks it away. He catches another blade strike in his left claw and counters with a thrust of his right claws through the machine's head, ripping the head off before throwing the body into another robot. Two robots fire their guns, but the boy grabs another and uses it as a shield as he closes in on him. Once he's close, he tosses it aside and rolls under the bullets before swinging his claws around, tearing the two to pieces just like the rest. He looks back at the last four and engages his semblance again. Jumping into the air, he reels his steel right fist back. They fire on him, but it does nothing and he smashes his fist into the ground in front of them, sending out a huge shockwave that obliterates them all. With the last of the machines down, the boy disengages his semblance and his weapon.
The boy sighs, "Now I just need to figure out where Mantle is. And then head to another kingdom. Too bad I have no idea where I am. I wonder what caused the lab to explode anyway," he wonders, not noticing a damaged robot aim its arm gun at him from behind.
A sudden shot rings out and hits the bot in the head, killing it. The boy looks at the machine and then to who fire the shot and finds a boy with blonde hair in a black coat, wielding a sword in his right hand with a gun mechanism on it.
"The lab explosion was my doing. I found out about it and decided to... redecorate," the boy says.
The boy brings out his claws again, "Who are you, more soldiers from the facility? Or someone like me?"
"Neither. My name is Khazhak Rairyu. I came here to put an end to this place, and help any of those who were experimented here. Like you," Khazhak introduces himself.
This makes the boy ease up, "Okay, but what about the others?"
"I'm sorry... But you are the only survivor. When they learned their operation was compromised, they tried to destroy the evidence. They succeeded for the most part, though I did get some of their data and records as proof, and then I found you," Khazhak admits.
The boy slumps to the ground, "Damn it. They deserved better than that. We all did. All I ever wanted was to be free, but now that I am... I don't know what to do now. I can't remember... anything. Only what they did to me. What they TOOK from me," he clenches his fists in the snow.
Khazhak walks up to the boy, "Then how about coming with me? They wanted to use you as a weapon for war. I want you to fight besides me, as a warrior who lives protect others. To ensure that what to happened to you never happens to anyone else," he offers.
The boy looks up at him, "Why should I trust you?"
"Because I'm asking you. The choice is yours," Khazha offers his hand
The boy sees no deception in his eyes. And besides, he doesn't have any better ideas right now. After what happened to him, he doesn't have many options for a future career anymore. They experimented on him to fight, but only for themselves. Maybe he can be different by fighting for others, and regain what he lost.
The boy takes the hand, "Well, not like I have a whole lot of options right now. Besides, I have no idea how to get back to Mantle or Atlas. I'm in,"
"Good. Welcome aboard. Come, we'll rendezvous with my comrades and return to Atlas, and then leave for another kingdom," Khazhak begins walking away.
"Hey, wait! I, uh, don't remember my name. What do we do about that?" the boy asks.
"If you can't remember, then we'll just have to give you a new one. How about... Lloyd. Lloyd Jyousai. The Gray Fortress. Fits with your semblance," Khazhak suggests.
"Lloyd... Lloyd... I like it. Lloyd it is," Lloyd Jyousai agrees with a smile.
"Then come, Lloyd. There is much to do," Khazhak walks away, with Lloyd right behind him.
...A few years later...
It is night out and the kingdom of Vale is it with lights all along the streets and the businesses. Down one street, Khazhak, Reaper, Porphyrius, and Lloyd walk through town.
"You think we'll find him tonight?" Porphyrius asks.
"Possibly. Roman Torchwick has been causing quite the commotion lately. It's time to put him down. But, first we must find him. Split up, search all the local Dust shops and the usual places he might hit. If you find him, call out to the others with your location. Move out," Khazhak commands.
"Got it," his comrades say before heading off in different directions.
Khazhak walks a little further before ducking in an alley and then jumping onto a rooftop. Moving from roof to roof, Khazhak scouts around for any possible Dust shops that Torchwick might hit; any signs of his target.
"Where are you, Torchwick? You can't hide out in shadows forever," Khazhak mutters as he looks around.
He stops on one building an at intersection, spotting one shops labeled "From Dust til Dawn". Khazhak is about to move when something red crashes through the window of the shop. He looks and cocks an eyebrow when he sees it's a young girl mostly black clothing and a red cloak with a hood. The girl has something metal on her shoulder before it shifts and transforms into a large, red scythe.
"Interesting," Khazhak crosses his arms, noting the impressive design of the weapon. He then sees several goons in black suits and shades, each carrying guns or red swords. Behind them stands a man in a white coat, a fedora hat, and holding a cane in his right hand. "There you are, Torchwick. But, who is the girl?" he mutters, deciding to watch the show for a moment.
The girl twirls her scythe around before stabbing the blade into the ground while taking off a pair of headphones and putting them away. Two goons aim their guns at her, but she starts zipping around the street, a long streak of red from her cloak and rose petals left in her wake as she dodges their bullets. She comes around towards them, slicing one gun in half, followed by swinging her scythe around to cut the second gun in half. A third goon aims his gun at her, but she fires off a shot from the top of the blade, knocking it out of his hand. The one behind her takes out his sword, only to get kicked in the gut by the girl. Another comes at her, but she deflects the strike with her weapon and then hits him in the face with the back of the scythe section of her weapon. She knocks another away that runs at her with a hit to the stomach and then jumps up to stab her blade into the ground. She swings around, spinning under a sword strike from a fourth goon before coming around and kicking him in the back to the ground.
"Impressive," Khazhak notes, intrigued, before he notices backup arrive in the form of several more goons in black clothing.
They fire their guns at the girl from the side while her focus is not on them. However, the bullets never reach her as a greatsword suddenly stabs the ground in between them, acting as a shield and protecting her from the bullets. They are all surprised, but then they see Khazhak land near the girl behind the blade.
"Now, now, boys. That's no way to treat a lady," Khazhak calmly walks up to his sword and pulls it out, separating it into its dual form. He glances back at the girl, noticing that she has Silver Eyes. But, that'll have to wait for another time. "Hmm, now then... Prepare to face judgment,"
They aim their guns at him, but he fires his swords behind him, sending him flying at them. He spins in the air, swinging his swords and cutting through three of their guns. Landing in between them, he swings around for a spinning hook kick to one goon's face, knocking him back. He swings his sword, hitting his head again with the flat side of his sword. Khazhak jumps over a swing from another with a sword, throwing an axe kick on his skull. Downing a second, Khazhak looks back to see one aim their gun at him. Bringing his blades behind him, he blocks the shots before firing off a shot of his own to knock the firearm out of his hand. Khazhak throws a flying knee to his face, followed by a front kick to the chest that knocks him into a lamppost. Parrying a sword strike from the side, he brings his left elbow into another goon's chest and then a right cross across his face. The last goon tries to run for it, but Khazhak fires his swords behind him again, propelling him at the runner. He lands his feet on the guy's back and smashes him into a nearby wall. Pushing off of the unconscious thug, he backflips a few times before landing next to the girl in red. Normally, he'd have killed them all, but that might frighten the girl and he doesn't need to be dealing with that right now. They then turn to Roman.
Roman looks around at his downed men, "I guess it's true what they say after all. You really do get what you pay for," he drops his cigar and crushes it under his cane. "Well, Red and Blue, you've certainly ruined my night. I'd love to stay and play," he aims his cane at them, and a crosshairs pops up, aimed at them. "But this is where we part ways," he pulls the trigger.
Khazhak gets in front of the girl while crossing his swords, blocking the shot. The pair are engulfed in smoke As the smoke clears, they look around for Torchwick.
The girl looks up at one building, "Hey, there!" she points up and Khazhak sees Roman moving up the side of one building thanks to a grappling hook on his cane.
He reaches the top and makes a run for it, but a sudden shot rings out, hitting the ledge in front of him. Roman looks back to see Khazhak and the girl behind him, Khazhak being the shooter.
"Oh no, you're not getting away, Roman Torchwick. I have business with you," Khazhak threatens him.
Roman turns with a smirk just as an airship rises from behind the building. It raises its spotlights on them, temporarily blinding them as Roman gets on.
"You two are too persistent for your own good!" Roman tosses a vial of red Dust at their feet.
The girl gasps and Khazhak gets in front of her like before just as Roman fires a shot at the vial and it explodes. The explosion is seen throughout the city, even by his comrades.
"Oh, Brother, what did you do this time?" Lloyd groans before moving to his position.
As the smoke clears, Khazhak and the girl see a purple circle in front of them, blocking the blast. They look back to see a blonde-haired woman in a white shirt, a black skirt, and a black cape walking up next to them while wielding a riding crop. With a flick of her wrist, the circle disappears.
"A huntress," Khazhak narrows his eyes.
She swings her crop, creating another circle and sending out several purple blasts of energy at the airship, hitting its side.
"We've got a huntress! Let's get out of here!" Roman calls out to the pilot.
"Oh, no you don't!" Khazhak charges up his blade before swinging it, sending out several bolts of lightning at the airship.
However, the pilot shoots out several blasts of fire to cancel out his lightning bolts before the airship flies away into the night.
"Damn, and just when I finally found him too," Khazhak curses.
The huntress turns to him and the girl, and the girl shows a huge smile.
"You're a real huntress!" she notes with glee, but the woman doesn't appear to be in a smiling mood.
Khazhak inwardly groans, "Oh, great,"
…
A little later, Lloyd, Porphyrius, and Reaper wait outside on a nearby rooftop overlooking the police station. Khazhak had sent them a quick message before being taken away, and they know not to try anything stupid. So, for the time being, they're waiting. Inside, Khazhak and the girl with the red hood are sitting in an interrogation room, with the huntress apparently stuck on the bad cop phase of the interrogation.
"Did either of you not stop to think about how your actions put others in grave danger?" the woman questions them as she walks around them, intimidating the girl.
"You planning on asking the same question to Roman Torchwick, because I doubt he'd give you a suitable answer. He was robbing a Dust shop, and we stopped him. The only ones who got hurt were his hired henchmen, which you now have in custody. You're welcome by the way," Khazhak isn't so easily intimidated.
"What you did, young man, is illegal vigilantism. A crime. Not to mention an act of pure stupidity. More importantly, was your aura even strong enough to defend yourself from all of the attacks aimed at you?!" the woman aims her riding crop between them, the question directed at both of them.
"Well, uh... no," the girl mutters dejectedly.
"Don't insult me. I'm a lot stronger than you think," Khazhak crosses his arms.
"If it were up to me, you both would be getting some strict punishments... But, there is someone here who wishes to speak with the two of you," the woman says, just before the door opens up to reveal an older man in glasses, holding a cane in one hand, and a plate of cookies and a coffee mug in the other.
The man sits across from them, "Ah, Miss Ruby Rose... and Mr. Khazhak Rairyu," the man says.
Khazhak glances at Ruby, now learning her name. It suited her perfectly, given her attire and the rose emblem on her belt.
The man leans a little closer, "Hmm, Silver Eyes... Just like your mothers," he says.
"Wait... how did you know that?" Ruby asks.
The man turns to Khazhak next, "And your eyes... Blue is quite common, but your eyes hold a certain intensity to them. Just like the eyes of a dragon," Khazhak doesn't know what to say to that. "Do you two know who I am?"
"You're Professor Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy," Khazhak answers.
Ozpin smiles, "A pleasure to meet you. Both of you. Now then, I have a question for you two. Miss Rose and Mr. Rairyu, would the two of you like to attend my school this year? For you, Miss Rose, we would be moving you up two years early."
The question surprises both of them. It wasn't long before Ruby said yes, but Khazhak thought about it for a moment longer.
"I am aware of some of your other exploits, Mr. Rairyu. You have helped plenty of people in the past, even if some may not exactly agree with your... methods. But perhaps you could do more as a huntsman than as a simple man with a pair of swords. What do you say to becoming something... more?" Ozpin asks.
Khazhak thinks, glancing between him and Ruby, before he looks him in the eye.
…
"You're coming with me to Beacon?! This is so amazing," a girl with long, blonde hair hugs Ruby.
"Yeah, Professor Ozpin said I could skip ahead two years and enroll this year," Ruby says.
"This is awesome. Now, I get to go to Beacon with my little sister!" the girl says, hugging Ruby again.
"Yang, please, I need to breathe," Ruby wheezes.
Just then, the door opens up and Khazhak walks by her. For a moment, the two lock eyes with one another before he walks past them towards the front door.
The girl, Yang Xiao Long, notices and releases Ruby, "Who's that?"
"Oh, he helped me with what happened earlier with those robbers. I think his name was Khazhak Rairyu. Ozpin made him the same offer... and he said yes, but on one condition," Ruby explains.
"What condition?" Yang asks.
"I don't know, Yang. I left the room before he said. I wonder if we'll see him there at Beacon," Ruby says as he watches Khazhak leave.
"Ruby Rose, huh...," Khazhak glances back at her one last time as he exits the police station, finding Ozpin talking with a man with short, blonde hair and wearing shorts.
The two turn to him, "I look forward to seeing what you'll accomplish at Beacon, Mr. Rairyu. Along with your friends," Ozpin says.
Khazhak says nothing as he takes his leave.
"Who was that?" the blonde man asks.
"Someone who helped your daughter out with tonight's little event. Like Your daughter, he too is gifted. He reminds me... of an old friend of mine," Ozpin replies, watching Khazhak leave.
Khazhak walks down the street until his comrades drop down in front of him.
"Brother, you okay?" Lloyd asks.
"I'm fine, Lloyd. And I won't be sitting in jail anytime soon. Roman got away, but we'll have other opportunities. Besides, we'll be sticking around for a while as we have a new objective now," Khazhak explains.
"What objective?" Reaper asks.
"Pack your bags, boys... We're going to school," Khazhak says.
The three friends cock their heads to the side, "Huh?"
…
The next day, Khazhak and his comrades reach the airship set to take them to Beacon.
"So, we're really doing this. We're really going to become official huntsmen, huh," Porphyrius notes as he stares at the airship.
"Well, at least we'll have a place to call home for a while," Reaper notes.
"I know this wasn't exactly what we planned, but... Something told me that... this was the right choice to make. We have a new path now, and I'm grateful you're all walking that path with me," Khazhak looks to his comrades.
"Hey, we're a team, Khazhak. We always fight together," Reaper says.
"Yes. We trust your judgment," Porphyrius adds.
"Yeah, where you go, we go, Brother!" and Lloyd finishes.
Khazhak nods, "Then let's go... To Beacon,"
The four board the airship. They pass by one girl dresses in black and white, wearing a bow on her head, and another girl with long white hair tied in a side ponytail and dressed in white without noticing either of them.
...But even the most brilliant of lights will eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone, darkness will return. So, you may prepare your guardians of the light. But, take heed. There will be no victory in strength...
Khazhak walks up to one window on the airship, his friends standing behind him.
...But perhaps victory lies in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul...
Khazhak glances to the side, catching Ruby and the blonde-haired girl from the police station with her.
...And even if that smaller, more honest soul should struggle, they only need turn to the soul standing next to them. A battered soul that has struggled, that has suffered... but has an unwavering resolve... The resolve to keep moving forward...
Khazhak turns back to look out the window with his comrades, awaiting this new path that lies before them.
And that's the chapter. And so it begins anew. Yeah, some of these chapters will be longer than my usual because the episodes are longer than the original series. There will some filler chapters, at least until we enter Weiss' dream to combat the nightmare like in the show. Anyway, what new challenges await Khazhak and his team at Beacon Academy? Until then, please Read and Review.
