My name is deimos tachinowarui. Before i get into my story. I gotta tell you about the world i live in. eostia. There probably was a time when it was peaceful. After all. There's a reincarnated goddess watching over it. Celestine lucross. But that isn't how it now. Thanks to the legion. A horde of monsters that destroy. Kill. and rape. To combat this threat. Celestine gathered six different powerful women all with their own armies. And thus the seven shield alliance was born. It's seven members are celestine. The daughter of king eos. The iris knight. Alicia arcturus. Her cousin prim fiorire. Maia. the queen of mercenaries. Kaguya. The shrine maiden. The leader of the halflings. luu-luu. And finally one of the most powerful knights and deadliest swordswoman in eostia. Claudia levantine. Despite the power and influence of the seven shield alliance. This war isn't gonna end anytime soon. From what i hear. The legion have a leader. Within the dangerous and uninhabitable part of eostia. Lies a black fort. Where an insane powerful and beautiful dark elf stays. The dark queen. Olga discordia.
I want this war to be over. So I can figure out what to do with my life. I can't remember my past. My earliest memory is waking up on the side of the road. A village down from said road. Being attacked by the legion. And this is where i first discovered…that i was insanely good at killing.
Not only did i have the power to summon a broadsword called rebellion and a katana called yamato. But i was also insanely skilled with dual wielding them. I also discovered that i was also incredibly strong. As i was able to knock a minotaur to the ground with a headbutt. And shoving my sword through it's mouth.
Since then. I've wandered from village to village. Slaughtering the legion everywhere I went. This one man crusade against the legion has earned me the title "the red swordsman." mainly due to my long red coat. But I digress. As i stand on a cliff looking down on a battlefield of halem. I see that i'm not the only one here to stop the legion. An army of mercenaries. Under the flag of a black dog. The kuroinu mercenaries lead by vault. A name that is as infamous as mine.
"So…these are the black dogs. Huh?" i said. I got attacked by flying imps with spears. But even with wings. There just cannon fodder in my eyes. I grabbed the spear of the first one. And pulled him in to grab his head. And crush it. I threw the spear through the head of another and the final one. I grabbed it by the leg and smashed it into the ground. The imp was now nothing more than a stain on the ground. I looked down on the battlefield. I decided to go after the leader while the black dogs keep the troops busy. On my way i found tied up female knights with orcs giving off shit eating grins. They whipped their dicks out. I knew where this was going. So i summoned rebellion and yamato. And jumped down. Stabbing my sword through one of the orcs skulls. After quickly beheading the last three. I untied the knights.
"Thank you." one of the knights said. I nodded and smiled and then kept moving. After cutting down any demon who got on my way and rescuing a few more captured female knights. I soon found the leader in front of a bunch of other legion monsters. He looked at me with scorn.
"You! You have slayed many of our kind red swordsmen!" the orc leader yelled.
"I'm just getting started ugly!" i yelled. The monster behind were ready to attack me. Only to be stopped by their leader.
"I will handle him on my own." the orc leader said. As he readied his axe. He was definitely a lot harder to deal with than your average orc. But it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. After a good five minutes of axe against swords i managed to disarm him. Time for the finisher.
"Demonic art: Lunatic dance!" i yelled. I jumped up high. And slammed dived kick into his ribs. After making sure my sadistic grin was the last thing he'd see. I hit him in the face with a hundred rapid punches and ended it with one powerful hail mary. I soon walked over to the demons that were behind ready to do what i do best.
"W-wait!" the orc leader yelled. His face a complete mess. Wow! He's definitely earned the right to lead. That attack has reduced even minotaurs heads to bloody paste. Yet his was intact. Badly wounded but still intact. "P-please…kill me. But spare the others." the orc leader said….that surprised the hell outta me. I was expecting him to start saying he'll rip me apart and then rape my mother. But this caught me off guard. I thought of the legion as mindless monsters. But this guy…he's giving his life to safe his men…that's not the act of an mindless monster…that's the act of an honorable general….dammit!
"You and your men…all of you! Get lost! And never come back to halem!" i yelled.
"Your letting us go?...why?" the orc leader asked.
"I thought that the legion was nothing but mindless horny monsters…but you gave me food for thought. Let's leave it at that." i said as i walked away. After picking himself up. The orc leader and the other monsters left. I sighed. I then got a slug to the back of the head.
"What were you thinking!? Those monsters killed plenty of my men! And you let them go!" a tall man with a huge sword yelled. I knew who he was.
"I'm not one of your men vault. You can't dictate my choices." i said.
"Well. you don't live up to your name red swordsman!" a young mage yelled.
"Yeah! Pussy!" a guy with two swords yelled.
"Whatever…now if you'll excuse me…i got other things to do." i said. I began to walk away. Only to be grabbed by the shoulder by vault.
"Sorry about hicks and keane's rudeness. One legendary mercenary to another. How about you come with us? I'm pretty sure the princess knights would like to reward the red swordsmen for all his deeds." vault said. A reward?...well celestine is an goddess. Maybe she can give me the advice i need. To find out what to do with my life.
"...just know if any of your boys piss me off enough. I'll give them a head injury." i said. He nodded. After arriving in ken. There were cheers. But there cheers loud especially for the red swordsmen. I recognized them from the villages I saved. I rubbed a finger against my cheek.
"Hey look! Deimos is blushing like a girl!" hicks yelled as he laughed. I replied by punching him right in the face. Knocking him out.
"Fool should have saw that coming." keane said. After the celebration began. I was approached by Claudia levantine.
"Pardon me. Red swordsmen. But lady celestine would like to speak to you." claudia said. I nodded and followed her. And found myself in the throne room. And saw celestine. And she was truly a beauty. Long golden hair. Pretty face. And killer bod. She truly was as beautiful as goddess.
"Focus deimos focus!" i thought to myself. I noticed that she was holding a sword.
"May i have the honor of your true name?" celestine asked.
"It's deimos…deimos tachinowarui." i said. Trying to hide my nervousness.
"Deimos…would you please Neil?" celestine asked. I did what she said. And felt the tap of a sword on my shoulder.
"As the goddess celestine lucross…i hereby knight you…you may rise. Sir deimos." celestine said. I did what she said.
"Thank you…but i need to ask. Why me?" i asked. She giggled.
"The tale of the red swordsman is known to me…you saved villages when we couldn't. A lot of our people owe you their lives…so why wouldn't a hero like you deserve to be a knight?" celestine asked. I smiled and nodded.
"Thank you. Lady celestine." i said. I bowed and walked away…knighthood…maybe that's what i'm meant to do with my life.
Celestine pov.
"Glad to have someone like deimos on our side. He's shown great potential." claudia said.
"Yes…but what i said was only half the reason why i knighted him." i said.
"What do you mean lady celestine?" claudia asked.
"There's an incredible power not from this world sleeping within him…i've had visions of a red swordsmen facing an ancient evil from long ago…with deimos. I see one who would stand alone against this evil and it's army." i said. Claudia looked at me in shock.
Four weeks later/deimos pov.
"Ow…" claudia said as she was flat on her ass.
"The score is twenty-twenty." i said. What turned into training. Has become a rivalry. So far it's even. I offered a hand up. Which she took.
"I don't think i'll ever understand your style of swordsmanship." claudia said.
"It's rather unique…shall we go another round?" i asked. She nodded and readied her sword. Our spar was interrupted. By claudia's husband klaus and his father. Graves. Klaus may not be able to fight. But he's definitely smart. And unlike those horny apes in the kuroinu. He's actually pleasant to talk too. The same can't be said for graves. The guy maybe an war hero and a highly respected knight. But why should i respect someone who doesn't respect me? Ever since i got here. This douche has looked down on me. He's made it no secret that he sees me as an nomad mongrel. An animal celestine took in out of pity. Despite my skills proving otherwise. I hope he betrays the alliance. It would give me a justifiable reason to kill him.
"Pardon me honey. But celestine has called everyone for a meeting." klaus said.
"Right. I'll go right away. Sir deimos. Could you go find the other princess knights?" claudia asked.
"Sure." i replied.
"Have you no manners? Your supposed to say "yes my lady."" graves said. With that high and mighty attitude. I've come to hate.
"...fuck off graves." i said.
"What was that mongrel!?" graves yelled.
"Enough! Both of you! Sir deimos. Will you please go find the others?" Claudia said. I soon went to go find the other princess knights. As i soon left the training field. I was approached by klaus.
"I'm sorry for my father's attitude towards you sir deimos." klaus said. I shrugged.
"It's fine…your father being an asshole to me isn't your fault. Graves is just mad that his time in the spotlight is over. And a new knight is taking his place." i said.
"What about you? What will you do when your time is over?" klaus asked.
"...shake the hand of the guy who takes my place. And walk off the stage with dignity." i said with a smile.
"A rather mature answer…the meeting will start soon. You better hurry." klaus said. I left to find the others. And i soon found Alicia arcturus. Looking for her cousin. She saw me.
"Hey you! Have you seen a girl with pink hair?" alicia asked.
"No i've not seen your cousin alicia." i said. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Why do you look familiar?" alicia asked.
"My lady. I think he's the new knight. The red swordsmen." the knight beside her said. She went wide eyed. And blushed.
"M-my apologies. So what's the score between you and lady claudia?" Alicia asked.
"Twenty-twenty. We're equal. Anyway. A meeting's about to start. You need to head to celestine's castle." i said.
"My apologies. But i cannot until i find prim." alicia said.
"Fair enough. It can't start without her anyways. I'll keep my eye out for a girl with pink hair who's heart stoppingly adorable." i said. Alicia giggled.
"How do you say that with a straight face? But thank you sir deimos." alicia said. Keep my eye for prim. But for right now. I should find the others. I payed the tavern a visit. Maia maybe a princess knight. But she's still a merc. And that means an unquenchable thirst for alcohol. And sure enough. She was there. Having a drinking contest. Drunk off her really nice ass.
"Excuse me. maia? A meeting's starting. You need to stop downing the booze now." i said.
"What's up handsome? Want a few drinks?" maia said with a wide smiled. I sighed. I'm not gonna get anywhere with her like this. I need to sober her up. I walked to the counter.
"You got something that will sober someone up?" i asked. The barmaid seved me a cleanser. Yeath this will sober her up. "Thanks." i said. I went back to maia's table. And handed her the cleanser.
"Thanks sweetie." maia said. She downed the cleanser thinking it was another beer. But quickly snapped out of it.
"You sober now?" i asked.
"Yeah…so why did you want to come see me red swordsmen? You got a crush on me?" maia said with a lustful grin. I blushed. God this girl is flirty. Then again. She was a merc. Expecting her to act like alicia or claudia is ridiculous. But seeing me blush caused to her to smile even more.
"N-no. a meeting for the princess knights is happening. You need to get moving." i said. Maia sighed.
"Those are usually so boring. But duty calls i suppose." maia said. Vault soon entered the tavern. "Hey vault!" maia yelled. She was once apart of the black dogs. She may not be with them anymore. But nothing wrong with still being friends. Though vault wasn't keen on that idea. As he completely ignored maia.
"See you at the meeting deimos." vault said as he left the tavern with a beer. Well that was just rude. Did he even pay for that? I noticed maia looking sad.
"Don't take too harshly. He's probably still pissed that the only bit of sex appeal that the kuroinu had is gone." i said.
"The only bit of sex appeal?" maia asked.
"Yeah. i've seen some of the other kuroinu mercs. And they're ugly as sin. Some i almost killed because I mistook them for an orc." i said with a smiled. Maia bursted out laughing.
"Thanks. I needed that…by the way. I heard you spared the leader that attacked halem. Why?" maia asked.
"I thought that the legion was nothing more than mindless monsters. That only knew how to kill destroy and rape. But that leader…he was willing to give up his life to save his men…that's not the act of a mindless monster…that's the act of an honorable general. He gave me food for thought." i said.
"I see…that gives me food for thought too…well i better get going. But first." maia said. As she kissed me on the cheek. "Thanks sir deimos. See you at the meeting." she left. I could tell my face was red.
"That woman…is dangerous." i said. After calming my nerves. I continued my search. I went to the graveyard…it was big…depressing. This many soldiers lost their lives in this war. I sighed. I soon found the priestess kaguya.
"Excuse me. Kaguya?" i asked.
"Yes?" kaguya replied.
"A meeting. You need to go." i said.
"Just give me time. I need to finish my prayers." kaguya said. She put some strange piece of paper. On a grave and began to pray. I decided to help out. Putting the paper on the graves and praying alongside her.
"I hope you all find peace." i said.
"Thank you for your help." kaguya said. I looked around. And tightly closed my fist.
"So many lives lost…i will see this war end!" i yelled with determination.
"Sir deimos…why do you fight? I know that you protected small villages from the legion. But why? What motivates you?" kaguya asked.
"It's the right thing to do…do i need more of a reason?" i asked.
"No…see you at the meeting…dark knight." kaguya said. I looked at her in confusion as she headed to the castle. Dark knight? What the hell was that supposed to mean? Worry about it later. I went to a park. I heard something moving in the bushes. As i moved forward. Something soon leaped out of the bushes and tried to hit me. But i rolled out of the way. And to see my attacker. Was luu-luu.
"Nice reflexes red swordsman!" luu-luu yelled.
"Why did you attack me?" i asked.
"I wanted to beat the red swordsman. Do i need more of a reason?" luu-luu asked. I rolled my eyes.
"A meeting is coming. You need to go." i said.
"What? Bleh! Those are always so boring! I'm not going!" luu-luu yelled.
"I question why the alliance let a five-year old being among their ranks." i said. Luu-luu quickly looked at me with anger.
"I'm an adult you jerk!" luu-luu yelled.
"Then act like one. I get it. Meetings are boring. But this could be something important. So quit acting like a kid and move it!" i yelled.
"Fine." luu-luu said. Grumbling all the way. I sighed.
"Are all halfings that immature? Alright. That's most of them down. Just need to find prim to get Alicia moving." i said. Now if i was a pink haired princess with an overprotective cousin. Where would i go? What do i know about prim? Well i know she likes stuffed animals and….sweets…bakery it is then. I went to the bakery. And sure enough i found a pink haired girl in a dress savoring every bite of a cake.
"Prim fiorire?" i asked.
"Nope! You have the wrong girl." prim said trying to lie. I rolled my eyes at her pathetic attempt to lie.
"You know. Maybe don't wear a princess dress if you want to hide who you are." i said.
"I'm sorry…i love my cousin. But." prim said.
"I understand. Alicia is rather overprotective of you. So i can understand slipping away to actually do something you want to do with out big sis alicia constantly on your side. But i digress. A meeting is happening. And both you and alicia need to be there. So if you could finish that cake and go to alicia so you both can arrive." i said.
"Umm…sir deimos. Would you mind showing me around before then?" prim asked. I probably shouldn't. But screw it. She's too cute to say no too. Plus i highly doubt she can do this very often. So…
"Sure…i'll show you around." i said. Prim smiled. And i showed her around. The garden that luu-luu attacked me in. the shops. Some things prim bought. At the clothing shop. Prim bought some underwear and showed it to me. While she was wearing it. And nothing else. Prim worried that i was sick with something nasty when my nose bled. But I told her i was fine. I just hope news of this doesn't reach alicia's ear….i can already feel the uncomfortable wood and sharp blade of the guillotine. I also showed her the house that the Levantine's gave me. She gave me a worried look when she saw the dart board and training dummy with portraits of graves face on them. I reassured her that i wasn't going to kill him. Though I really wanted to. But after showing her everything the capital of geofu had to offer. It was time to hand her over to alicia.
"Prim!" alicia yelled. Prim ran up to her and gave her a hug. It was incredibly cute. "Thank you sir deimos for finding her." alicia said.
"It was no problem. The meeting is about to start. So we might want to move it." i said. Alicia and prim nodded. We all then headed for the castle. And waited for celestine. Problem was…she was taking a long time. Even after chatting with everyone. We were still waiting. Luu-luu was stuffing herself silly with food. And chatting kaguya about her culture. And while alicia thanked me for showing prim around. And prim offering me to be her bodyguard. Which i'm willing. If it allows her some independence than i'm game….damn this was taking a while. Even the more patient ones like claudia and kaguya were starting to lose their patience. I sat down on a nearby chair. And fell asleep. Only to be shaken awake by vault.
"What vault?" i asked.
"You go find celestine. We don't have all day." he said. I got up.
"I don't think i'll get very far. But i'll try." i said. I went up to the stairs only be stopped by the guards. Claudia said i was allowed to go through. Her patience is at an end isn't it. I entered the room but celestine was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is she?" i asked.
"Are you looking for me?" a voice said behind me. I quickly turned around to see celestine.
"Oh great you lady celestine! You should wear a bell." i said breathing heavily. She giggled.
"Sorry. Sir deimos. So what brings you here?" celestine asked.
"What's taking you so long? Even claudia and kaguya are starting to lose their patience." i asked.
"I..had a vision. The queen of darkness olga is starting to lose her magic power." celestine said.
"So that means we actually have a shot at actually ending this!" i said exctiedly.
"Yes…sir deimos i have a favor to ask." celestine said.
"No problem. I'm a knight in your service after all." i said. She smiled.
"Olga is the last of the true dark elves…i want to help her…i want you to bring here unharmed." celestine said.
"Sounds like you know something that the rest of us don't…but i'm down for a peaceful solution. And i have questions i want answered. About the legion. Maybe i'll get them from her. If we can end this for peace…then i'm all for it." i said with a grin celestine blushed and smiled.
"Thank you sir deimos." celestine said. She then announced that the magic power of the dark queen was weakening. Everyone was up in arms about it. A lot of them wanting to storm the castle. But a priest said of how the princess knights were too important. And i can't argue that. This is a golden opportunity. But their kingdoms will be worse off if any of them bite it. So they decided to hire the kuroinu for this. Which they charged double. The priest complained but it was understandable. This is probably the most dangerous mission ever. So there better be big pile of gold to make it worth it. But what he said next shocked me.
"And also if your new knight comes along!" vault yelled. I looked to the sides and pointed at myself. He nodded…i hate working with these mercs. All they talk about is booze and sex. How'd they stayed alive this long is beyond me. It's like the worlds biggest frat house….but i promised celestine i'd bring olga back unharmed. And this is how i have to do it. I sighed.
"Alright. I'll go with." i said. The crowd cheered. I looked at celestine who had a worried look on her face. I mouthed to her not to worry. She blushed.
And here i go again. With the kuroinu mercs. I'm off to end this war. Though it didn't take long for them to start getting on my nerves…this was going to be a long trip.
