Chapter 1, Prologue The Alley's.
The year is 3069. Mankind and Animalkind have sort of merged. Thanks to a bunch of Mad Scientist's You will see Animals with Human like features. Luckily that was the worst thing they did... or was it?
I have been Lead Detective with the Lucella Island Police Department. Being 1 of a very few families of Humans on this Island has it's ups and downs. more Ups until that fateful day. I was working on a series of thefts, with Officer Doggy. A wolf named Willow has been stealing from local Supermarkets. here are the details as I remember them.
Detective
While waiting on the Alley with Officer Doggy. I had just checked all my notes. in am sure I was correct. Doggy looked it me and said. "Alright Detective, You better be right about her being here." I shrugged my Shoulders and replied "My investigation led me to this place, I'm sure she's here."
Doggy pulled out his Taser. "Dang out of Juice, if you seen any batteries bring them here." Knowing Doggy is best with the Taser I agreed. "Hey Detective, Let's make this arrest quick, then." I faced him and he winked at me. I made a face at him, and he laughed.
I started slowly going down the Alley. to the left there was a door. I opened it up and saw a Restaurant. After surveying the eating area and then kitchen I picked up a red Key, I figured it was important. I then exited out the door I entered. the next door to the right was open, but it has Police tape blocking it off. I looked in and saw a Hotel Lobby. I tried taking down the tape. But it would not budge. Of all the days to forget the knife my wife gave me at home. I figured I would check it out later if needed be. I am sure I would find a knife or something sharp along the way. Taking another quick peek I noticed another entrance that was taped up much like this doorway. I am now curious about what happened here.
Taking another look back at Officer Doggy, He was still looking for Batteries. So I forged on. Ahead I saw Daisy's TV's. The owner is a sweet Donkey who is friendly to everyone. Even adopted 2 wolf cubs. I headed left and saw the store was locked with a Blue Lock. it figured my Red Key was not a match. So I continued on.
I made a left around the next building. I saw a door without a lock on it. So I opened the door. As I opened the door I heard a crash behind me. I turned and saw a pair of eyes staring at me from the Darkness. I pulled out my gun and started out towards the eyes. All of a sudden the eyes disappeared and the Trash pile collapsed on me. I got up and saw a Raccoon as he hits me in the head with a crowbar. As I was passing out I saw a door with a red lock on it.
I came to and noticed the Raccoon was gone. As was my gun. I then checked my pockets. The red key was still here. So with a splitting headache I entered the doors I opened. I opened the next door and saw a Taser battery in front of me. I grabbed the Battery. But I did not have room for that and then key. I figured I could come back for the key. So I snuck back to Officer Doggy.
"You look like you had a ruff time so far." He said a I handed him a Battery. He looked it the Battery and said "this will only good for 1 shot. I don't know how long it will be good for."
"That's all well and good, but we have another problem. There is a Raccoon out there. He did a number on my head with a crowbar."
"Okay fine. Be sure to try and find more batteries. I will cover you while I can." He looked more worried than I wanted to admit. "I will call back-up, I hope you find what you are looking for."
I headed back to get the Red Key. as I grabbed it I looked down and saw a small hole in the wall. I crawled through and found myself on the outside of the room. "This could be useful." I thought to myself. I opened the next door and headed right. I found a door that looked to be screwed shut. another Mental note. around the corner was another door with 3 number pads next to it. I figured I could waste time figuring out the code. or hope to find hints. I chose to look for hints. I saw another door as I rounded the corner. But remember where I saw the red lock. So I headed back and used the key. It then disappeared from my hands.
I opened the door and saw a long hallway. as I walked down i noticed what looked like a puddle of water. As I walked through it I slipped and fell hard. Turns out there was a lot more to the Puddle than just water. I started to get up. All of a sudden I heard a yell outside. followed by a familiar voice calling out too me. "I got the Raccoon, but not sure how long. I need another Battery!"
Officer Doggy
When the Detective handed me they battery I saw them take off towards where he was before. "K-9 to base, K-9 to base. We are at the Alley's behind Daisy's TV. We need backup." I knew I needed to make this 1 shot count. so I took off and where they went left, I went right. both doors to the old Hotel were taped off. So I continued. I want right again only to find a dead end. So going back I saw a Blue Lock on a door. I was not going to bother with that. I had an Agenda. The Detectives life was in danger. I needed to protect them if I could.
I saw a movement ahead. I stood still and looked. It seems the Detective was correct. Before me was a 6 foot tall Raccoon. He was staring in a door. I took a quick peek and saw the Detective getting up. Looks like they slipped. I saw the raccoon was clinching his Crowbar, getting ready to attack. "Make the shot count" I reminded myself. I aimed at the Raccoon and fired. He went down with a loud yell. I then yelled in the door "I got the Raccoon, but not sure how long. I need another Battery!" I then looked it the raccoon and said "Don't do anything rash." I then hid in the Darkness.
Rash
She told me to keep an eye on the Detective. As I saw them open the door I accidentally slipped. Causing the trash to make a noise. I looked up and saw them leering my way. There is not way they saw me. But they pulled out a Pistol and started my way. I had no choice. I closed my eyes and pushed the trash on them. when that did nothing but knock them down I walked up and hit them in the head with my Crowbar. I then grabbed their gun. and emptied the clip and Chamber. I placed the gun inside the Purple safe. And went to hide the key. .
After hiding the key I want to finish off they Detective. When I got back, they were gone. "Crap!" I started looking again and found the Police Mutt was not in his spit either. I then went where I saw the Detective enter the room and found a pair of Scissors. I took off and cut the police tape from the Hotel Doors. I then heard a door unlock behind me. "Good grief, what door was that?" I ran to look at the Doors I know of. Shoot, the red door. I know what at the end. I could not let them see what was at the end. I saw the Detective almost at the puddle. I added a little trap there. I pushed a button and a tripwire caught their heel. It worked as I planned. Now I bet they thought something wax added in the water...lol. I was then going to head off when I suddenly felt electricity coursing through my body. As I looked up I heard the cop yell "I got the Raccoon, but not sure how long. I need another Battery!" He then looked it me and said "Don't do anything rash." "Hmm rash. I like that." I"I need to let her know if they new name. I sent a message to Willow with 3 simple words. "Call me Rash!"
Willow
I can't believe they are this close to me. I knew that taking the food and items was bad. Even though my reasons were pure, my actions were criminal. Why did I choose to side with someone so angry and self destructive? Oh well, once I get out of this, I will need to get better help. I remember mom's last note to me. "Dear Willow, please take care of William. I'll be back soon - Daisy " I did what I could. Little did I knew I would meet a shady Raccoon that helped me in the wrong way. I became a Criminal. One of Lucella's most wanted. I never hurt anyone physically. Though that does not help the Mental part of the actions.
I am watching from behind the coded door. I do not see them finding me, as the code hints are in different rooms. with different obstacles to get through. I heard that the raccoon had added to the obstacles. I hope they slow them down, and does not harm them. That would take this hunt for me in a totally new direction. I watched on my laptop as the Detective opened the Hallway. and it saw them slip in the puddle. Not sure why that happened. Although it served a purpose. They started to get up and did not go back. I checked the other cams. I saw that someone cut the tape off they Hotel Lobby. Dang, this is going to far. I squeezed the scarf around me. Reminding me of its previous owner. William loved this scarf.
Detective
I headed outside and saw the raccoon. I saw he was still breathing. I also saw he has a pair of scissors. I grabbed them. I can use these at the Hotel. I headed that way. I noticed the tape has been cut. So I started to search the first floor. "HOTEL TEMPORARILY CLOSED AS PER REQUESTED BY THE LPD." I noticed this sign had been knocked down. Off to the right on a Bench in found a mop. I grabbed it and put them scissors in it's place. I guess only keys disappear after use. or maybe they are still needed. I took the mop back to the hallway, and began moping up the water. When I felt safe enough I crossed the path. I saw a note sticking halfway out a door. All I could read was "Can K_ come out and play today?" I tried taking the note. but it would not budge. So I then walked towards another hole in the wall. Another shortcut in case of emergency. I noticed on the right wall 3 squares. the first 2 were blank. but the 3rd had the number 4. Where did I see this before? I took out my notebook and recreated the image. I must fill in the blanks.
I headed back to the Hotel to finish the search. On a bench to the left I found a Blue Key. Which of course dropped the Mop back onto the bench. "Well time to look for a new lock." I thought to myself. I headed out and went straight. looking down the path I noticed a door with a Blue Lock. "Well, that was easy." I though to myself. I want and unlocked the door. The key then vanished. Just like the red one earlier. I entered the room. I was inside Daisy's TV store. And on the first shelf I noticed a Green Key.
I turned around and saw a Laundry Mat. I have done my Laundry there a few days ago. I then thought why not look. Things are seeming to be locked and hidden recently. As I entered the door I saw another 3 boxes on the wall. This time they first box had a 7 in it. the other 2 boxes were empty. So I opened my notebook and put a 7 in the first box. I looked to the left and found another door with a Green Lock. This is just to simple I thought. I opened the door and then key vanished yet again. I found a safe with a Yellow keyhole. I headed off to search for The Yellow Key.
Officer Doggy
I could not stay in the darkness. What would the Department think if me? So After I saw the Detective was safe. I headed into the open door before me. As I entered another door I saw a door to the left of me. So I checked it and was back outside. I saw a Orange Key on a Bench across from a door with an Orange lock. "Too easy," I thought. As I opened the door the k
ey vanished. "What the heck?" I looked all over but could not find the key. But I did notice a safe with a Purple Lock on it. So I walked back to the other building and on the bench to the right of me was a Purple Key. As I picked it up I went back and opened the safe. Inside was a pistol. I took a look at it and realized it was then Detectives. So I picked it up and put it on my belt. Suddenly the door behind me opened. I knew my Taser was empty, but I doubt whoever opened the door would realize it. I spun pulling out the Taser.
Detective
I had to find the Yellow Key, but where so I start? I started to head towards the building where I got the battery. and I heard a noise ahead of me. I froze, but was happy to Officer Doggy. I started towards him when I saw that Raccoon following behind him. Off to the right I saw a Battery. I grabbed it and Followed Behind The Raccoon. It looked like he stopped for a second. Then went off in another direction. So I followed him. It seems that someone opened another door and a safe. I wonder what was inside it. The Raccoon disappeared. So I opened the door only to come face to face with Officer Doggy spinning around aiming his Taser at me. "Not going to do much Damage without this." I said as I threw a battery at him. He smiled and loaded it up.
"Found this in a safe. Looks like you can use it." he said as he handed me my gun. its great but no Ammo. Going around the corner I found a Yellow Key on a bench. I put my gun in the Holster and grabbed the key. I then looked it the wall and saw 3 number screens all with the number 0.
"That's where I saw this before." I entered the 7 and then 4. I tried all numbers in the middle. That worked as well as can be expected. So off I went for the Yellow Safe. "Hey Officer, I only checked the Hotels first floor. can you try upstairs?"
"On it." was his reply. As I get back in the room with the Yellow Safe I opened it and found a Screwdriver. "Well I'll be." So I took the Screwdriver and headed to the door I saw that needed it. As I unscrewed the door I saw yet another number. This time it was a 2 in the center. As I turned the corner I noticed I needed to step over the Raccoon again. "Doggy is getting his Practice shots in." I thought. I entered the 2 and then door opened. I looked down the Hall and saw her.
Willow jumped over some Police tape, and then a puddle and finally into a vent. I ran back to the Hotel and saw Doggy. He was running back towards the room. I hope he has something good. We are so close. As I get to the Hotel I saw the scissors were gone. I smiled. The Officer was 1 step ahead. I grabbed the mop. I then headed to the doorway. I again passed Officer Doggy. "Geez, I hope he was not running with scissors." As I went in the doorway I started moping the water. Then I heard running coming from behind. I turned around aiming my gun.
Officer Doggy
"On it." I replied. I then moved around the corner. I saw slight movement. As I aimed my now charged Taser that way I saw the Raccoon sneaking the way they Detective went. As he went to change the numbers on the keypad I fired my Taser. Down he went. I then ran to the Hotel. Running upstairs I found a White Key on the bench. As I went to grab it I saw something shiny downstairs. If those scissors were used to get in here. Why did they not disappear like the Key's? Going on a hunch I grabbed them and left the key where it was. I ran back to the room passing the Detective. I did not have time to explain what my thought process was. Plus they looked preoccupied. As I figured the Coded door was open. As I entered I saw more police tape. I cut it down, and the scissors vanished. Down the hall I noticed a White Lock. So I headed back to get the White Key. I noticed the Detective running back with a mop. Never know he was afraid of water. Anyway I ran to get the key. My ancestors ran faster on all 4's. I tried but it did not work. I grabbed the key and made it back to the room. As I entered the hall I saw the Detective spinning around, aiming their gun at me. I smiled, and handed them the key.
Willow
"Dang, how did those coppers find the code?" As the door opened I took off over the Police tape and over the water and into a vent. If only I remembered where they White Key was. That vent tuckered me out. At least they won't get to me unless they find that key. I sent a message to The Raccoon. "Meet me in the room ASAP...Rash" I can't believe he renamed himself that
Detective
Officer Doggy stood by a I opened the lock. There she was. Willow, with nowhere to run.
Doggy spoke up "Willow, you are under arrest for stealing food and other supplies from all over the city!"
Willow responded "I was only trying to feed my family, please!"
I then said "You know the laws, Willow. I'm sorry." Then there was a noise behind me.
Willow closed her eyes and shook her head and said "Stand down, Rash. It's not worth it."
I turned and saw the Raccoon coming towards us with the crowbar. Rash then said "What? Why? They'll take us away!"
Officer Doggy then replied "We'd rather do that then take you out." as he raised his empty Taser towards Rash
Rash was not happy, but said "Grr... you haven't seen the last of us!"
All of a Sudden the silence was broken by the sounds of Sirens. So I room Officer Doggy aside and said. "This really doesn't feel right."
Doggy shook his head and said "I know what you mean. Unfortunately it's the way things have to be."
I looked it him and asked "But.. isn't there anything we can do about it?"
Doggy replied "We all have a role to play, Detective." and then added "We do thing because we have to, not because we want to." Deep words coming from him. "Now let's get out of here." As he was leaving He asked "Are you coming, Detective?" I turned around and led Willow and Rash away in handcuffs.
I walked in and handed the chief all that I just wrote. He looked it at and said "You did this island a favor. We will not forget it." "Now go home and get some rest." I smiled. I was so tired. spend some time with the wife and fall asleep. in needed them both. Especially the first part.
