With the skies clear with no clouds in the sky, it seems like the perfect time to explore this new and strange world. Sora still didn't understand a lot of it, especially how much technology there was. He had only just gotten used to his gummi phone and now there were so many new technological things to get used to. So many new things, and still not enough answers.
Strelitzia said in time they would figure something out, but for the time being she suggested they take a break. There was a small cafe she visited quite often, and it had the best donuts in her opinion. So off the two of them went, looking for a good bite to eat before they continue the tour of the strange city.
Upon entering, Sora looked around, taking in the new environment. Much like the overall city itself, it was far different than any of the worlds he had visited before. Not even the little restaurant in Twilight Town was as stylish and cool as this place.
"Whoa!" Sora gawked as he looked around.
The next thing for him to take in was the smell. There were so many smells all at once. He could smell fresh pastries being baked, but also smells of drinks being made, mainly that of coffee. It was almost too overwhelming at first, having his senses overloaded with strong new smells at every turn, but he was hungry and he was ready to try anything.
Leading him over to a small table, Strelitzia and Sora took their seats. "Do you want any recommendations?" she asked him.
"I don't know. What do you like to eat here?"
"Hmm I usually like to start with a mocha and a strawberry glazed donut," Strelitzia replied with a thoughtful hum.
"A mocha? Is that good?"
"It's quite tasty, but it does have caffeine in it, so if you want to feel some bursts of energy, it's helpful. But if you want to try something else, maybe try some of their fruit drinks. Here we can ask the server for more information."
An older man approached their table, holding two menus in his hand. He grinned happily as he looked at the two before holding out the two menus to each of them. "Hey! So name's Zack and I'll be here to take your order when you're ready, but if you have any questions let me know."
"Oh uh, well what would you recommend?" Sora asked as he looked over the menu.
Zack's smile just seemed to get bigger. "Well glad you asked! Do you have a hot beverage you like? Do you wanna try something new? If so, how intense do you want it?"
"I uh…" Sora started, caught off guard slightly by the man's energy. "I don't know… everything is so new for me…"
"New for you?" Zack asked.
Strelitzia cleared her throat. "What my friend means is, new for him in this town. It's so big compared to what he is used to that it feels so much newer."
"Oh dude same," Zack replied. "When I first woke up in this world I was caught off guard by everything."
"Wait… this world?" Sora asked.
Zack started to chuckle nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck. "A-Ah what I mean is-"
"You're from another world too!" Sora nearly shouted before he was hushed by Strelitzia.
Zack looked around quickly to see if anyone was paying attention to them, but it seemed everyone was too focused on their own conversions. Taking a seat at the table Zack leaned forward, looking at the two again, his eyes wild with excitement.
"You guys serious? Like, you're both seriously not from Quadratum at all?"
Sora shook his head. "No… I ended up here about a week ago, and Strelitzia has been here a little longer than me. But what about you?"
"Been here a little over 10 years I think? Kinda lost track at this point, but definitely more than 10 years," Zack replied.
Sora's mouth dropped open. "Seriously? 10 years? How? How did you even end up here or where were you from?"
Zack opened his mouth to speak, but then he bit his lip, glancing back to the counter where other employees were still working. He stood back up and stretched his arms. "Tell you what, meet me outside the shop after my shift is done. I got like… two hours left. We can talk then, in a place that has less people."
"Sounds good to me," Strelitzia replied.
"Yeah me too! I wanna know and ask so much," Sora said, trying his best to keep in his excitement.
"Same here. I want to know about back home and what's happened in over 10 years. So, alright then! It's a plan! I'll give you guys a few minutes to look over the menu, then I'll be back to take the orders!" Zack said before he walked off to a different area of the cafe.
Now that they were alone, Sora tried to look for something on the menu, but now he couldn't focus. All he could think about was this guy named Zack. The guy who also seemed to be from his reality, just like him and Strelitzia. He was already preparing his list of questions he wanted to ask, excited to see what Zack's story was.
