Chapter Three
It was the summer break.
As such Harry wasn't needed in Hogwarts.
And thank Merlin for that.
The reason being they had finally found Dumbledore and the remains of the Order Of The Phoenix.
They found them via Throatcutter and the Goblins.
Apparently Dumbledore had the Goblins ward a small island in the south pacific but stiffed them on the bill.
From what Harry was able to gather Dumbledore had tried to steal the Philosophers Stone from the Flamels.
But was thwarted in his attempt.
Harry suspected he wanted to use the stone in order to pay for the Goblin's services and without it he was unable to afford the work provided.
It all reeked of desperation in Harry's opinion.
"Guess we really pushed them into a corner" Harry mused.
He however shook such thoughts out of his head.
The reason being he was currently in talks with the Goblins.
They wanted to join the ARA in their goal of bringing down Dumbledore.
The sticking point being Harry also wanted their aid in bringing down Voldemort.
And as they were hiding behind their vaulted neutrality it was quite difficult to get them to agree.
It took Harry the better part of six hours to negotiate with them.
They eventually came to an agreement all could be happy with.
Especially as it included a promise of aid from their mutual enemies.
With that in mind they began preparing.
It took them roughly two days to get the logistics of the operation sorted out.
But once they did they quickly began to act.
The elite group of ARA members joined with a Goblin battalion.
They used a Goblin made Portkey (as they knew exactly where the island was).
Harry didn't ask however how the Portkey was able to pierce the wards around the island.
Harry just assumed as they were Goblin designed they knew how to bypass them.
He did however note that if he ever wanted Wards without such an exploit in the future it would probably be best if he set them up himself.
And once the usual Portkey like travel was finished they landed safely in a lush jungle like area.
Not a single word was spoken.
Everyone there knew their roles and all talking had long since been done in the preportory stages of the mission.
Sirius shifted into his Padfoot form, while Harry switched into his Raven form.
Sirius used his enhanced senses to track down the location of the Order Members.
While Harry scouted from the sky's above.
They soon came to a series of houses that definitely didn't match the surroundings.
And if you thought the Burrow looked odd it had nothing on these monstrosities.
There were around ten of these houses all filled to the brim with the remaining Order Members.
There also seemed to be a training area which Harry observed being used by the Order Members.
All the while Dumbledore watched over from a golden throne.
The man looked absolutely exhausted and every one of his over one hundred years of age.
"Guess being a fugitive isn't easy on the old goat" Harry thought before returning to base.
In a large almost circus looking tent.
Harry and Sirius explained what they had discovered.
Amelia, Mad Eye, and the Goblin General Nosesmasher began including this intel into the groups plan.
It was several days later after repeatedly observing the Order Members that the ARA and the Goblins made their move.
They chose to act in the middle of the night.
Flames and explosions erupted from their initial attack.
The ARA attacked from the front drawing the Order's attention.
And as the battle was ongoing the Goblin forces split into two and attacked from each flank.
The Order didn't know what hit them.
That and their Stunners only policy proved to be disastrous strategy.
But the main event was obviously Harry verses Dumbledore.
Of course the old man tried to flash out via Fawkes.
Unfortunately for him Himbo was on the scene to prevent that.
The two phoenixes then began flashing and attacking one another.
Himbo seemed to genuinely dislike Fawkes and it seemed the feelings were mutual in Dumbledore's familiar.
That and the Goblins had also modified their previously installed wards to prevent Portkey and Apparition based travel.
The Order where trapped like rats.
With the battle raging on around them Harry and Dumbledore circled one another.
"It didn't have to be like this Harry my boy" Dumbldore said.
His "I'm so disappointed in you tone" was wearing a little thin.
Harry however could see beneath the surface.
His jaw was slightly clenched and his off hand balled into a fist.
Harry took in every twitch in the old man before him.
Not wanting to take anything for granted.
Seeing no reply forthcoming Dumbledore sighed.
Obviously the mind games portion of the upcoming duel weren't going in his favour.
"Ah Sirius" Dumbledore said making Harry turn his head.
The moment he did so Dumbledore sent a series of spells his way.
Harry just chuckled as he blocked them without looking.
"Did you honestly think I would fall for that?" Harry asked.
"Just how gullible do you think I am?" Harry mocked
Seeing the look on Dumbledore's face he began to burst into a deep belly filled laughter.
"Oh my god you did. Wow you have definitely gone senile" Harry said to no-one in particular.
Dumbledore only response however was to increase his casting speed.
It was no surprise to Harry that the man duelled with finesse even though he leaned heavily on Transfiguration.
He was a Master of it after all.
And despite his recent Mastery in Charms Harry duelled with much more variety.
He used Charms, Transfiguration, Light, and Dark Magics.
The latter of which Dumbledore would scowl at anytime Harry used them.
Flashes of multi colours lights erupted between them.
Transfigured animals, and humanoid statues would also duel on their casters behalf.
It was clear Harry had the advantage in terms of power but Dumbledore was a wiley veteran.
His years of experience helped make up for his shortcomings.
And loath as Harry was to admit it Dumbledore was still definitely a better duellist than Grindlewald if only by an incredibly small margin.
And yet despite that Harry found the duel to be absolutely intoxicating.
"It's not every day you get to enjoy a fight like this" Harry thought to himself.
And the longer the duel went on the more Harry seemed to gain the advantage.
Not only was Dumbledore's stamina waning.
But Harry was picking up on Dumbledore's mannerism's.
These tells allowed Harry to almost predict what the old man was going to do next.
"Thank you Grindlewald" Harry thought thinking about the former Dark Lord.
The man had shared his insights into Dumbledore with Harry while showing him the memories of their famous duel.
That combined with what he already knew, it made this task infinitely easier than it would have been otherwise.
That and Harry was also using the Elder Wand.
This further bolstered the power advantage Harry had over Dumbledore.
As such the former Headmaster was soon pushed into a corner.
He was beginning to sweat and breath so heavily it could be heard over the sound of spell fire.
His eyes began to dart around in desperation.
Dumbledore noted that the Order Members were almost all wiped out.
Whether they were dead or not remained to be seen.
"No!" Dumbledore yelled erupting with a wave of magical energy from his very being.
"Man he is powerful" many thought as the wave knocked them off their feet.
"It's too late Albus my boy" Harry however said with a grin.
"Come quietly and you and your followers will live through this" Harry stated.
Dumbledore shook with indignation.
How could it have come to this?
He was the great Albus Dumbledore.
"Everything I've done was for the Greater Good. Wasn't it?" he spoke out loud.
Harry sighed.
"It's not for you to decide what is and isn't for the Greater Good Albus" Harry said.
"Just as it isn't for me to decide. Its the will of the people whose opinions matter the most" Harry explained.
"You and I both know how fickle the people can be" Dumbledore spat.
"Albus, you can't please everyone all of the time" Harry stated as though imparting some profound wisdom.
"You are simply too young to understand" Dumbledore argued.
"And you are too old to understand. Time has passed you by old man. It's no longer the same as in your era" Harry countered.
"Some things will never change" Dumbledore said.
"True, but what does change will never return to the way it was. It's time to let go" Harry said with more calm in his voice than he actually felt.
Dumbledore's hand shook.
His old wrinkled fingers gripped tightly around his original wand.
Dumbledore released a sigh and his shoulders slumped.
He seemed to fully relax.
His tensed hand relaxed dropping his wand that hit the floor with a clatter.
"You made the right choice" Harry said as he began walking towards the former Headmaster.
Harry fished out a pair of magic nullifying handcuffs from his robes.
Just before he got to put them on Dumbledore however the old man sent a wandless disarming charm his way.
Most would have been taken by the surprise of the situation.
Not Harry however.
The Elder Wand in his hand moved up with incredible speed.
It deflected the wandless disarming charm.
He then hit Dumbledore with a Petrificus Totalus.
The former Headmaster dropped to the ground.
He landed face first with a sickening thud.
His nose smashed in by the ground beneath him, more than likely broken again.
"Honestly did you think I was going to fall for that?" Harry asked the prone man.
"Between Grindlewald and your Brother I have a fairly decent idea of some of the tricks you were prone to using" Harry said as he slapped the cuffs on Dumbledore.
"That was how you defeated Grindlewald all those years ago wasn't it? While he was gloating over his victory you disarmed him" Harry stated.
"Well too bad I'm not Grindlewald" Harry added.
He then turned around to find almost everyone of the ARA and the Goblins were observing the pair.
It seems their own battles had long since come to an end.
"Any casualties?" Harry asked.
Sirius shook his head.
"A few minor injuries, nothing to write home about" Sirius explained.
"That's good" Harry said.
He then handed Dumbledore over to the Goblins.
They sneered down at the former Headmaster.
He was looking at several years of working in their mines in order to pay off his debts.
Chances are he probably wouldn't survive.
After all even people in their primes have been known to die working in the Goblin Debtors prison's.
And even if he did by some miracle survive he would then have to face Ministerial justice also.
No the Great Albus Dumbledore was certainly in for some hard years in the foreseeable future.
It was a shame really.
He certainly had the potential to lead the Magical world to a brighter future.
If only he could have gotten out of his own way.
Too convinced was he in his interpretation of things that he closed his mind to the possibilities.
And even with the most benevolent of intentions such a mindset will always lead one into darkness.
At least that's what Harry thought anyway.
News quickly spread of the capture of Albus Dumbledore.
His mug shot was plastered all over the front papers.
His defeated expression with his broken node and two black eyes were a startling sight.
Gone was the infallible old man many knew him as.
Gone was the so called second coming of Merlin.
No, all anyone could see now was a man who let his hubris dictate his actions.
A man who would become a cautionary tale for children in generations to come.
It was ironic that in his defeat he became an instrument of change for the Greater Good.
Something helped along with a series of books published by a mysterious Author by the name of James Clayman.
His books read like Greek Tragedies.
One of the most popular of his works being about Albus and his desire to herd in a Prophecy to his interpretation.
Little did anyone know this writer was none other than Harry Potter and that the books were mere petty revenge on Harry's part for those stupid Harry Potter and the ... stories.
Chapter Four
The public celebrated the bringing down of the Order Of The Phoenix.
In their opinion this meant one half of their problems was now dealt with.
The trials of the Order Members saw them all sentenced to hard time to Azkaban.
The same was to be said for Dumbledore but nobody expected him to survive his time with the Goblins.
And as you can imagine Harry gained even more recognition.
But unlike his younger self he didn't shy away from it.
"There wouldn't be any point" Harry admitted to himself.
Long gone was the time when he could be just Harry.
Now he was the Defeater-Of-Dumbledore
Another stupid title to add to his numerous other ones.
That's not to say Harry didn't ride the wave his new found popularity afforded to him.
He used it to further move the Wizengamot towards his goals and ideals.
As such anti discrimination laws were finally being put in place.
This would allow those with None Magical heritage to climb higher within the Ministry.
Of course this wasn't an easy thing to accomplish even for Harry.
But his allies pushed it through securing just enough votes to make this a possibility.
It also helped that anyone even remotely speaking against this movement soon kept their opinions to their selves when the latest leader of the Dark faction was proven to be an Imperiused puppet of Voldemort.
How was this proven you ask?
The simple answer would be Harry Potter again.
But the truth is a lot more nuanced than that.
He, through his contacts in Gringotts leased out their Theifs Downfall knowing it's capabilities from his previous timeline.
Normally the Goblins wouldn't have been interested in such a thing.
But with Harry now recognised as a Goblin friend.
And sharing a battle with them against their mutual enemies they were more amenable to making a deal with him.
Of course the Thief's Downfall also came with a guard squad of Goblins to make sure no Witch or Wizard tried to steal their intellectual Property.
It then didn't take long for more and more Imperius victims to be uncovered.
Shockingly not only the Dark Faction suffered from this but also some membered of the Light.
Thankfully none of the Neutral faction which housed the ARA seemed to have that issue.
As you can imagine finding out so many of the top legislators of the country were being Imperiused caused a huge scandal.
Especially when it was discovered they were put under the curse by the Death Eaters.
This was their plan B.
And as such made it clear to the public that the trouble of the Death Eater's were never going to go away on their own.
And due to that the sticking your head in the sand mentality of Wizarding Britain was finally done away with.
"Bloody took their time" Harry thought when contemplating the state of the public.
But on the plus side the public were being far more pro-active this time around.
Anonymous individuals were sending tips to the DMLE about suspected Death Eater activity.
And while some were stupid things like a Witch complaining that a person was walking his Cerberus in a none beast friendly area when he wasn't, the rest actually had some decent intel.
Due to that the DMLE were able to slowly gain a decent picture of what the Death Eaters were up to.
And as Harry had suspected they had indeed gone into international waters.
Apparently the Death Eaters were smuggling their supporters out of the country.
The battles they were fighting against the African magic users was turning out to be quite a costly procedure and they needed any able Witch or Wizard they could spare.
And thanks to this the DMLE, IDW, and ARA were able to track down their exact location.
The only problem was that this part of Africa was outside of ICW control.
To avoid causing an international incident Sirius as Supreme Mugwump, and Harry as Chief Warlock negotiated with them the right to enter and take out the Death Eater problem.
And depending on their performance they may even begin talks of joining the ICW.
It was towards the end of the summer break when the operation was put into full effect.
Several squads made up of Healers, Curse Breakers, Hit Wizards, and Aurors from around the ICW were brought together.
Only the best of the best need apply.
That Harry, Sirius, Tonks, Moody, and Amelia Bones all qualified should say a lot about their level of skill.
Each one took the lead of their own squad.
Sirius became White Leader.
Moody Red Leader.
Tonks Pink Leader.
Bones Yellow Leader.
And Harry was Blue Leader.
Each squad was made up of a mix of Hit Wizard, Auror, Curse Breakers, and Healers.
Sirius' group being the only one that also maintained a squadron of Werewolves.
Remus as his role as Beta to the largest European pack was there as Sirius' number one
They chose a night of a full moon for the attack.
The Werewolves were in their element.
And despite taking their wolfbane prior still howled, growled, and snarled their way through Voldemort's forces.
Which other than his dwindling Death Eater numbers happened to also include a number of giants, Inferi, and Vampires.
It was like something from a damn monster movie.
At first the Werewolves were being pushed back.
That was until Harry came on the scene.
With him was an army of Acromantula.
All of whom had come from the Forbidden Forest.
Thankfully Harry had talked to them prior than Voldemort was able to do so.
Thanks to this he was able to tell them how Voldemort was responsible for what happened to Hagrid.
How Voldemort was really Tom Riddle.
Thanks to that the giant truck sized Spiders had vengeance burning in all of their eyes.
Because of this Aragog held on longer than he did in the previous timeline.
If nothing but out of pure spite.
Unfortunately the ancient creature met his end against one of Voldemort's giants.
His death however spurred his son's on into a frenzy.
The giants were over run by a horde of the beasts.
They clicked their pincers in cheer before beginning to devour their prey there and then.
By then the Werewolves were over running the Vampires.
Leaving the Inferi to be handled by of all things an army of House Elves.
The leader of which was Winky, Dobby, and Kreacher.
The the latter of which was vindictively taking the "Filthy dead things that harmed Master Regulus".
Of course the Elves weren't unarmed.
Knowing that Voldemort would be relying on Inferi Harry had produced a series of burning swords.
At first it was going to be the human's job to handle the Inferi but the Elves volunteered.
They released a millennium of anger at their "Old Bad Masters".
And while each Elf was unable to kill their own master that didn't stop an Elf ally doing it for them.
They then returned the favour when it was the other elves turn.
The Death Eaters were so taken aback that they didn't even think to order their elves to aid them.
And so the numbers were culled down.
The only marginally difficult battle was between the other divisions and the Dementors.
It was becoming a battle of endurance for Amelia, Moody, and Tonks' squads.
Their Patronus' were barely holding the beasts back.
It also didn't help that with the Dementors was a cloaked figure.
From a distance nobody knew who they were.
But it only took hearing that mocking baby tone to realise it was Bellatrix Lestrange.
"I'll take care of the crazy B tch" Moody said leaving the rest of his squad working with Amelia and Tonks'.
The two scared grizzled individuals instantly locked eyes.
Bellatrix began to cackle like mad.
"Laugh it up Weetabix" Moody said with a gnarled grin of his own.
No more talking was done.
They both began hurling the darkest of magics at one another.
And moving with far more grace and precision than either had any right to.
If it was with his previous leg then Moody could admit he would soon be out manoeuvred by her superior agility.
That was before Harry gave him his new silver leg.
This leg allowed Moody to keep up and then some.
The battle that went back and forth between them was to the ordinary Witch and Wizard an intense one.
And no spell was off limits.
Fiendfyre, Imperius, Cruciatus, or Killing Curse.
It mattered not what the spell was or how dark it was.
So dangerous was their duel that everyone was instinctively giving them a wide birth.
The battle however came to an abrupt end.
A lone dementor swooped towards Moody.
Seeing this Bellatrix kept the famed Auror to busy to avoid the Dementor.
Bellatrix cackled thinking it was all over.
That was until she saw the grin on Moody's face.
Moody cast Harry's spell on the Dementor.
Unfortunately he was the only one outside of Harry himself present able to cast it.
Hermione and Flitwick could too but they were left behind at Hogwarts on the off chance something happened there.
That way they didn't leave Britain undefended.
The younger ARA members and Hogwarts Professors knew they roles and while they didn't like it, they knew Suring up your base was an important part of warfare.
Moody however had no time for such thoughts.
Instead he focussed on the Dementor.
The thing crashed to the ground beneath Moody's feet.
It was as mindless as Harry explained they would be.
Moody grinned as without the instincts that usually motivated the beast he was now able to force a familiar bond with the thing.
Bellatrix watched on in shock as the Dementor rose at Moody's side.
She was breathing hard.
Her body was in agony thanks to the injuries she was covered in.
Unfortunately her Master wouldn't let her heal them.
It being her punishment for failing to retrieve the Prophecy.
She had been using a anaesthetic charm to fight through the agony this entire time.
But it seems her body has reached it's limits.
As such she was barely able to look up to notice the large wraith standing above her.
And like all those time back in Azkaban her worst memories began to replay before her mind.
She shook and sobbed before with a gasp the beast sucked out her soul.
Thus came the end of one Bellatrix Lestrange.
Moody then set his Dementor on the others present while he returned to his post a little singed but no worse for wear than he expected to be after duelling Bellatrix.
While all this was going on.
Harry made his way to Voldemort's throne room.
His men were finishing off the last few Death Eaters around the perimeter.
"So you have come" said the voice of Voldemort as she sneered down at Harry.
"Stating the obvious much Tom" Harry retorted.
"You still call be by that name!" Voldemort snapped.
"Did you legally change it?" Harry asked.
"I am above such laws" Voldemort replied.
"Nobody is above the law Tom" Harry commented as though he was talking to a particularly slow child.
"I am Lord Voldemort. I am immortal, How can your mortal laws apply to me?" Voldemort condescendingly spat.
"No, you are a fool with delusions of grandeur. You are Tom Marvollo Riddle" Harry said.
"Child of an inbred Squib, and a love potioned none magical" Harry stated as though he was commenting on the weather.
"Avada Kadavra!" Voldemort yelled.
Harry squared his shoulders and flicked his wand into his hand.
"Expelliarmus!" Harry yelled.
The two wands spells connected in a beam of light.
The sound of Phoenix song echoed around them.
"What magic is this?" Voldemort wondered as a cage of light erupted around them.
He felt his wand begin to vibrate and instinctively knew he had to force the beam of light back into Harry's wand.
Unfortunately for Voldemort Harry already knew this was going to happen.
That was why he used the Phoenix wand instead of the Elder Wand.
And as such Harry wasn't taken by surprise instead forcing the beam of light instantly into Voldemorts wand.
The wand then began regurgitating all it's most recent spells.
Shade of dead person after dead person erupted from it.
Voldemorts slitted crimson eyes took in their forms.
A slight rigidness of his posture was the only give away of his fear.
But he was too busy trying not to fall to the connection between his and Harry's wand to pay them the attention they deserved.
The ghosts began to circle and mock Voldemort.
With their every word he became more and more irate.
"How dare these things I've already killed have the nerve to talk badly to me" Voldemort thought to himself.
A testament to his mentality.
Even now he never thought of them as people like him.
They have no agency in their lives.
They are merely things in his mind.
By now his wand arm was beginning to go numb.
The vibration was too much for him.
But before his arm could give way his wand did so first.
It started with a small splintering crack.
Then the crack got bigger and bigger running down the length of his wand.
Suddenly it exploded in his hand.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Voldemort yelled as his hand turned to mince meet.
The remains of his wand smoulderingly fell to the floor.
Voldemort dropped to his knees and began to hold his arm.
"Huh funny isn't it I believe I once had Lucius Malfoy in this exact same position" Harry mocked.
"You dare compare me to him" Voldemort hissed slipping accidentally into Parseltongue
"I do" Harry hissed in his own Parseltongue shocking Voldemort.
He just barely got control over his own shock.
He was about to tell Harry how he can't kill him.
How he is Immortal, and how he would return.
But before he got even one syllable out Harry used the Elder Wand to Sectumsempra Voldemorts head from his shoulders.
And with no Horcrux's around this was truly his final demise.
"Well unless I end up having to go back in time again" Harry mused sardonically.
"Here's hoping that never happens" he added.
Many would think Harry strange for his lack of celebration.
Instead he simply turned his back to the deceased Dark Lord.
He then made his way back out of the stronghold Voldemort had barricaded himself in like a coward while his armies died for him.
It wasn't until Harry reached the outside that he turned around.
He cast the Portego Diabolica creating a large ring of cursed flame.
The flames burned away anything Harry considered to be an enemy.
And with a final swish of his wand the flames began to expand outward,
Moving ever onwards throughout the battlefield.
This was nothing more than a show of power on Harry's part.
And it worked.
It burned away several of his enemies.
The rest seeing this quickly surrendered.
Harry then vanished the dark flame.
The remaining Death Eaters sighed with relief dropped to their knees.
Only then did they notice something odd.
They all then stared blankly at their now unmarked forearms.
The reality of the situation only now beginning to sink in.
"Sorry boys but you backed the wrong horse" Harry said with a cocky grin before leaving them to be processed by the combined Hit Wizard, Auror forces present.
Harry instead made his way to the Medical Tent.
There Andromeda fussed over him while Ted struggled to perform a diagnostic scan of him without his wife getting in the way.
Thankfully Harry was completely uninjured.
If only mildly exhausted magically.
Tonks was also in a nearby hospital bed.
Remus who was still in his wolf form was curled up at the bottom of her bed making some whimpering noises.
She had apparently been hit by Dolohov's curse taking it for Amelia when a Death Eater got the jump on them while they were handling the Dementor's.
Harry lamented that even with Dolohov killed in the battle of the Ministry that curse was still out there.
Thankfully for Tonks, Himbo was there to cry into her wound's almost instantly.
As such she will be absolutely fine.
The phoenix had gone out of its way to heal any and all of Harry's allies provided it could make it in time.
As such there were shockingly few fatalities on Harry's side.
And none that he knew personally.
Not that he didn't feel their loss of course.
They fought with him.
But he knew from the previous timeline just how bad things could have been.
All in all the cost's weren't as heartbreakingly large as the previous timeline.
If the celebration after Dumbledore and the Order being brought down was anything.
The demise of the Death Eaters and Voldemort was a whole other beast entirely.
Even the non magical's began noticing certain events.
It got so bad that Harry as Chief Warlock, Amelia Bones head of the DMLE, and Cyrus Greengrass the Minister of Magic had to go apologise in person to the Prime Minister.
Thankfully John Major was more bothered about the upstart Tony Blair to worry about such minor annoyances with the magical side of things.
Harry knowing it was only a matter of time before Blair got voted as the next Prime Minister could understand the incumbent ones feelings.
Although that didn't stop Harry from disliking the attitude he received.
"Could be worse" Harry thought.
"Could have been Margaret Thatcher" Harry pondered with a shudder.
"Milk snatching B tch" Harry thought.
The group pretty much go the hint to get lost and that's exactly what they did.
They returned to the Magical world.
Where they had further work to do.
Things don't just stop now that there aren't any threats after all.
For one they have to make sure no such threat would ever occur again.
And that's not even including the many captured criminals that would be brought before the Wizengamot.
"No rest for the Wicked" Harry sighed as he returned to his Chief Warlock's office.
