Toshinori's Choice
Chapter fourteen: The training camp part three- Rescue Mission part one
About a quarter-hour after Dabi and his Crew left the training camp, medical teams came to the training camp to help those hurt as well as those affected by Mustard's knockout gas. Some fire crews were also called in as Dabi had started some fires in various places in the forest. Out of the forty first year hero course students from UA who were at the training camp, only Bakugo, Kirishima, Tokoyami, Shinso, and Aoyama was able to avoid the knockout gas, although by the time the medics showed up Kaminari, Sero, Tenya, Todoroki, and all of the girls from both classes, aside from the unaccounted for Yaoyorozu, had woken up. All of the remaining male students were still out of it.
As for the pro heroes at the training camp, only the teachers from UA, those being Aizawa, Sekijiro, Hizashi, and Ryo were alright, having been roused and were already helping. To the heartbroken shock of the heroes, Mandalay and Tiger were discovered to have both been slain, and both Pixie-Bob and Ragdoll were unaccounted for. Furthermore, Bakugo and Kirishima were able to confirm that the villains had kidnapped Yaoyorozu, citing a belief that the villains were acting mainly for money here given that Yaoyorozu was the child of Japan's richest family. However, Bakugo also shared how he got it that the villains took Yaoyorozu for another reason that wasn't just money alone.
Bakugo said that Dabi asked him and Kirishima to let the heroes know that he'll be sending them a message soon, and figured that Yaoyorozu had something to do with sending the heroes that message. The only silver lining to the villains' attack on the training camp was that two members of Dabi's Crew, Muscular and Moonfish, were both captured alive, although Muscular was noted to have a busted spine and his elbows and knees were all bent backwards until they broke. It was estimated that, even if the damage was healed enough, Muscular will be permanently curbed in terms of what damage he can do overall.
The heroes and police also learned that another one of the villains with Dabi was the one who had crippled Muscular, a person who Bakugo and Kirishima identified to their teachers as a steel-skinned multi-armed giantess with rabbit ears. Bakugo and Kirishima were disgusted with themselves for just standing by and doing nothing as the villains went about their merry way. Aizawa reassured them that, given the situation (not to mention the two boys WERE trying to keep the then knocked out Sero, Kaminari, and Kota safe and secret), he could not hold anything against them. He even praised them for not needlessly throwing their lives away.
Speaking of lost lives, it was a sad relief that only Mandalay and Tiger were killed; sad because two pro heroes were killed, but a relief that the training camp attack had resulted in only two deaths. The teachers were especially thankful that none of the students were killed or seriously hurt, although some weren't awake from the smoke issue just yet. Those students recovered in safety while, after everyone got back to UA, the teachers at the meeting held there realized that the relative time of peace had made hero society as a whole a tad soft.
As protests happened outside of UA over the chaos at the training camp and the kidnapping of one student, Toshinori as he sat alone in a lounge room after the meeting was rattled by what all had happened; the fact Izuku hadn't woken up yet aside, the training camp attack still happened in the current time line, same as it did back in the alternate timeline. The only saving grace here was that no students were killed here unlike what had happened in the alternate timeline. Back during the training camp attack in the alternate timeline, only Bakugo, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero of Class 1-A there had survived past the training camp.
Iida was killed during the first internship rounds due to pursuing revenge against Stain the Hero Killer (another reason Toshinori was glad he had albeit unknowingly prevented Tensei's injury in the current timeline), and Sato, Todoroki, Tokoyami, Aoyama, and Shoji were all killed during the training camp attack; Shinso, Ojiro, Mineta, Koda, and all six of the girls were killed in the USJ attack. But here in the current timeline, no students have died yet, which filled the heart of the Symbol of Peace with hope. But Mandalay and Tiger were killed here, and Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob were kidnapped from the camp alongside the Yaoyorozu girl.
Toshinori was especially alarmed by what Bakugo said about the villainess called Usagi; Toshinori remembered Usagi the Rabbit-Earred Giantess from the events of the alternate timeline where Dabi's Crew won, and judging by her actions at the training camp, Toshinori figured that Usagi here is fully prepped to start serving Dabi. The kidnapping of Pixie-Bob told Toshinori that Dabi's other elite bodyguard was going to be complete soon and, should he join Usagi in serving Dabi here, then things will be getting infinitely more difficult for the heroes if they were to win out here.
Luckily for Toshinori, he still had solid memories of the alternate timeline, so he knew where to go to confront Dabi and his crew and, more importantly than that, All For One. However, before the Symbol of Peace would even consider going in, he wanted to take care of a LOT of prep work to stem off as much of the damage as possible from this point in the alternate timeline. First off, when the heroes confronted Dabi's Crew and All For One at the point that's coming up, only a small handful of lesser ranked pro heroes were there, and most of the bulk was handled by All Might, Endeavor, and Best Jeanist.
Here, Toshinori planned to round up as many of the top ranking heroes as possible, and that will be a base minimum requirement; he also plans to gather up as many solid pro heroes of lesser ranks as possible. Additionally, Toshinori recalled that, in the alternate timeline, Bakugo was kidnapped from the training camp and Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero mounted an unsanctioned rescue mission to try and save him from the villains. Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero all ended up getting killed trying to get Bakugo back, and Bakugo was rescued anyway after All For One was slain and Dabi called for him and his Crew to withdraw.
Toshinori would not deny that the three boys had heroic spirit, and they in the current timeline here are much the same. But he didn't want Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero getting killed (Toshinori wanted zero student deaths), and he figured that if they tried to go after Bakugo in the alternate timeline, they will undoubtedly try to go after Yaoyorozu in the current timeline here. As such, Toshinori would ask that at least one UA teacher keep an eye on the UA first year hero course kids as a whole, to ensure safety for the kids. But Toshinori was planning to ask that an especial focus was placed on making sure Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero didn't get up to anything that they shouldn't get up to.
Toshinori never experienced it with Izuku (not in the current timeline, at least), but he had it down that boys could be troublemakers.
At the hospital near the training camp, Tenya, Shinso, Todoroki, Tsuyu, and Ochaco were all standing around as they looked on in worry at Izuku laying in the hospital bed. He had no injuries, but he was among the students who had yet to wake up from the knockout gas from the training camp. As the five of them looked on in worry at the green-haired boy, the door leading into the room opened, getting the attention of Izuku's visitors and friends. To the surprise of Todoroki and the others, they were greeted by Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure poking in.
"Hey Asui, Uraraka," Jiro said, "Can we talk to you two privately? It's a girl only thing."
"Sure thing kero," Tsuyu said as she walked out of the room to join Jiro and the others. Ochaco also agreed to see them alone, waddling her considerable self out of the room and closing the door behind her, leaving Tenya, Todoroki, and Shinso wondering what it was that the girls were going to be talking about. But it was stated to be a girl only thing, so the boys decided to leave it be.
The 1-A girls found a private room to have their talk. "Hopefully Kayama-sensei won't find out," Mina said, "She's busy personally keeping an eye on Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero as per All Might's word."
Looking curious, Ochaco asked, "Won't find out about what, Mina?"
"The instant we heard it that villains were invading the camp with the intent to kidnap one of us," Mina began, "Yaoyorozu used her quirk to spawn necklaces with tracking devices in them, and that they can be used to locate each other. The 1-B boys in the room with us were far too panicked to pay attention, so they all have no idea about it."
Pulling her tracking device necklace out, Hagakure said, "We can use these to locate where the villains took Yaoyorozu. Girls, we have the means to save Yaoyorozu from the villains!"
"You're thinking of going to where the villains took Yaoyorozu to try and rescue her?" Tsuyu said, "Isn't that dangerous?"
To Tsuyu and Ochaco, Jiro said, "Asui, Uraraka, you two ought to know same as us that we can't let any of our peers remain in the hands of villains! Who knows what they will do to Yaoyorozu if we leave them to their devices?"
Gesturing to the other girls, Ochaco said, "Girls, the teachers as well as other pro heroes and the police are already gearing up to confront the villains and rescue Yaoyorozu! All Might was even able to call in many big name pro heroes to help, including most of those also ranked in the top ten! There's no need to go about trying to pull a stunt like this!"
"Don't you care about Yaoyorozu?" Mina asked.
"We do care about her kero," Tsuyu said, "But this is something well outside of our control."
Nodding in agreement, Ochaco added, "Tsuyu's got a point girls. We need to let the pro heroes and police handle things from here."
Scoffing in annoyance, Jiro said, "I can't believe you two! I had it figured that all of us girls in class would wanna go in and save Yaoyorozu from the villains!"
"Girls, please!" Ochaco said, tears streaming down the sides of her plump face, "The three of you going in alone will be heavily outnumbered by dangerous villains, one of which is a villainess that All Might who had heard of her is incredibly wary of! If you three go in alone, you can get yourselves killed!" The very obese girl sniffled a bit, her crying just starting to come out. "...Please, just... just stay here with us and let the heroes and police handle everything."
Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure looked at Ochaco for a moment, then looked to Tsuyu who similarly looked upset. "...Fine, we'll all stay put," Mina said, getting Hagakure and Jiro to agree as well. Ochaco and Tsuyu both breathed sighs of relief, and agreed with the girls when they asked to keep what transpired there to themselves; they don't want Aizawa to lecture them about having planned to try and break literally every rule imaginable in a bid to perform an unsanctioned and frankly rather suicidal rescue mission that wouldn't even be necessary as the heroes and police had this one.
...
Little did Ochaco and Tsuyu know that, despite thinking they had convinced the other girls, Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure still decided to sneak off and go on their self-given mission to rescue Yaoyorozu from the villains. Ochaco and Tsuyu had no idea about it, as after they had thought they had convinced the other girls to leave matters to the pro heroes and police, they went back to the hospital room that Izuku was resting in. Tenya, Todoroki, and Shinso were still standing guard over their still sleeping friend, who laid there unaware of what was going on.
Over at the police station, Toshinori in his All Might form was discussing a strategy with the others meeting with him. He had loads of police, as well as literally as many heroes as he could round up. He even had Endeavor, same as who was there to help rescue Bakugo in the alternate timeline, a person who there All Might trusted fully. Only here they were going to be rescuing Yaoyorozu, and the Symbol of Peace due to learning some less than savory things about the Flame Hero only trusted him due to how, bad man or not, he was STILL a skilled, strong, and effective pro hero.
Pretty much all other top ranking pro heroes were also there. Even Ryukyu and Edgeshot, although the strategy meeting saw them assigned to helping with evacuating civilians away out of the danger zone as much as possible, a responsibility they would be sharing with a few other pros including Fatgum. Toshinori was hoping to have all of the top ranked heroes with him for what he was anticipating, but he supposed that some things just won't go as planned. The Symbol of Peace just had to hope for the best here, and that nothing will crop up to throw the plan to rescue Yaoyorozu from Dabi and his Crew off kilter.
The last thing Toshinori wanted was any (innocent) deaths here.
Over at the bar where Dabi and his crew made their hideout, Yaoyorozu, with quirk suppressing cuffs on her, was tied down to a chair. The wealthy girl was still out of it, but within short order she was woken up by Spinner who used some smelling salts. When Yaoyorozu came to, the first thing she saw was Dabi looking down at her. "Hey, you," Dabi greeted, "You're finally awake."
Right away, Yaoyorozu was instantly alarmed. "You... you guys are the villains who attacked the training camp my peers and I were at."
"Ding ding, we have a winner," Spinner said, "Anyway, I'm certain you may have a theory as to why we kidnapped you."
Gulping nervously, Yaoyorozu said, "You... you guys wanna make me join you."
Arching a mildly confused eyebrow behind his mask, Mr. Compress said, "Heh, you? A spoiled pampered rich girl who's never known a day of hardship? Guess again."
A look of bitter knowingness settled in Yaoyorozu's eyes. "You're going to demand a ransom from my family, aren't you?"
"That is a valid point, and it will be the cover story," Dabi said, "But it's a cover that will mask the truth, at least before we're ready to carry out our real reason for why we collected you from your playdate, Momo Yaoyorozu."
Yaoyorozu was nervous, scared beyond all doubt, of what the villains here had planned for her. They didn't want her as a member to their cause, and the idea of ransoming her for a sizable percentage of the Yaoyorozu family pocketbook would, at best, only be a cover for the truth. The wealthy girl was fearing what it was that the villains had planned, as she had no idea what it could be.
She could only hope to be rescued.
...
Over at the hospital where all of the students were at, Izuku who still hadn't woken up was being watched by Tenya, Shinso, and Todoroki as Ochaco and Tsuyu left to go get snacks for all of them. Being generous as well as more than able to afford it, Ochaco offered to get snacks from vending for literally all students in 1-A and 1-B who were awake. Itsuka acting on behalf of everyone in 1-B graciously accepted the generous offer, and Tenya as the Class 1-A rep said that he was certain everyone in their class could use something to take the edge off.
As such, Ochaco and Tsuyu made their way around the hospital to see all of the students in the first year hero course, with Tsuyu taking notes on anyone asking for a specific thing if possible. However, as the two girls went around, they soon made a rather worrisome discovery; Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure were all unaccounted for. "Oh, don't tell me that the snuck off to try and rescue Yaoyorozu anyway," Ochaco said in a worried tone, "I thought that you and I had convinced them, Tsuyu."
"No one else has any idea where they are at kero," Tsuyu said, "This is something we need to tell Kayama-sensei." The two girls then made their way to the room where Nemuri was keeping a sharp eye on Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero. However, when Tsuyu said that she and Ochaco had some urgent to tell her, Nemuri told Tsuyu and Ochaco that it could wait until later as she was focused on the All Might-given task of making sure Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero didn't get up to any trouble. Nemuri would not even hear another word out of Tsuyu or Ochaco, she was that driven to do what All Might felt was a necessary precaution, although she didn't know why All Might felt the three specific boys had to be watched.
Since Nemuri refused to hear them due to her hyper-fixation on watching three of the boys at All Might's request, Tsuyu and Ochaco grew worried. "This is bad," said Ochaco, "Kayama-sensei is the only teacher here, but she refuses to hear us until after things are settled, and by then it could be too late." Patting her hands against the sides of her thighs, Ochaco said, "Ooh, I wish that Izuku was awake! He could call his step-dad who can call All Might and-"
"Wait, I have a similar idea," Tsuyu said, "Follow me kero." Ochaco, hoping Tsuyu's plan would work, allowed the frog girl to lead the way, waddling after her as she led her back to the room where Tenya, Todoroki, and Shinso were keeping an eye on the still out of it Izuku. Ochaco figured that Tsuyu was going to take Izuku's phone and use it to call Mr. Yagi and have him send word to All Might about what they suspect Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure might have snuck off to do. However, the very well-fed girl was surprised when Tsuyu came back out of the room the boys were in moments later with Shinso.
Looking curious, Shinso asked, "What happened, and why did Tsuyu say she and you need to speak with me alone?"
"Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure tried to convince us to help them with a plan to go off and rescue Yaoyorozu earlier," Ochaco spoke up, "But Tsuyu and I told them it was beyond reckless and dangerous, and seemingly convinced them to drop the idea."
"However kero," Tsuyu spoke up, "When we went about seeing everyone in 1-A and 1-B to see who wanted what from vending, we discovered that Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure are all unaccounted for. They aren't anywhere here at the hospital. We have reason to suspect that they snuck off to try and rescue Yaoyorozu anyway."
Shinso's eyes widened out of shocked surprise. "Oh shit. Aizawa-sensei will give them the mother of all verbal roastings over this, and that's if he's in a merciful mood. An act like this can get them expelled." Arching a wry eyebrow, Shinso asked, "Wait, why didn't you two try telling Kayama-sensei?"
"We did try telling her," Ochaco explained, "But she's so hyper-focused on watching Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero due to suspicions All Might has for some reason that she refuses to even hear us out until after everything's settled."
Gesturing to Shinso, Tsuyu said, "That's why we got you, Shinso. We got it on good authority you have personal contact with Aizawa-sensei, so we're hoping you can contact him and let him know all of this."
Pointing to the girls, Shinso said, "Yeah, we swapped numbers so we can call and or text in case of emergency or he has free time to help me catch up in my training compared to the rest of class. And yeah, this is totally something I'm going to tell him about as soon as possible. But Aizawa-sensei, Kan-sensei, and Principal Nezu are about to do some manner of public apology over the incident where Yaoyorozu was kidnapped, so the best I can do is send him a text asking him to call or text me as soon as he's free to do so while saying it's urgent. After that, we have to hope for the best."
Ochaco and Tsuyu felt guilty about ratting the other girls out, but they felt it was for their own good as going off on the unsanctioned rescue mission was a total and utter disregard for their own lives and safety. As Shinso took his phone out and sent the text to Aizawa, Ochaco and Tsuyu could only hope for the best.
...
After a few hours of travel by train, Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure reached Kamino Ward. They put on disguises to cover their identities in case any of Dabi's Crew spotted them. The three girls were especially worried that they could be spotted by the giantess villain who Bakugo had described to All Might; the three girls had no idea of who could be a bigger threat than Usagi the Rabbit-Earred Giantess. The trio of girls steeled their nerves as they proceeded in the direction their tracking device necklaces led them, hoping to locate, grab, and make off with Yaoyorozu.
As the girls made their way while following the tracking device necklaces, they stopped short upon seeing a video clip on a large monitor screen of the broadcasted apology UA was making over Yaoyorozu getting kidnapped. The clip showed Nezu, Aizawa (who the girls were surprised to see was well groomed here) and Sekijiro all apologizing for failing to protect the students during the incident at the training camp, and they vowed to take strong measures to guarantee the safety of UA students by strengthening UA's security and re-examining the crime prevention system UA had in place.
However, such words didn't do a lot to ease the people, both at the press conference where the apology was taking place, and those watching it here in Kamino Ward. Letting a student get kidnapped aside, two other pro heroes were reportedly kidnapped as well, and another two pro heroes were both killed. The villains' attack on the training camp had been a major show of the shortcomings of the heroes, and as such the heroes were being roasted for said shortcomings. Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure did not envy their teachers even one iota.
Especially since they were certain their efforts will prove more successful.
Over at the hideout of Dabi and his Crew, they too were watching the televised apology UA was making over letting Yaoyorozu get taken. Speaking of, Yaoyorozu was also watching that televised apology. "Well of course the heroes are apologizing," Dabi said as Spinner walked down from an upper floor, "They've been exposed as not being the flawless paragons they've sold themselves as. The people are now well aware that the heroes are just as capable as the rest of us of being fuck ups, and now they're scrambling to save face."
"Not to mention how it's clear the heroes are showing they care more about their reputations and getting compensation for their work," Spinner said, "Anyway, when do we proceed?"
"We need to wait for La Brava to get in with the recording gear," Dabi replied, "Then we can proceed." Turning to look at Yaoyorozu, Dabi said, "Well now, young lady. I hope you're ready, because you're going to help my Crew and I with sending a message to the heroes."
Yaoyorozu shuddered a bit in nervousness, dreading what said message was going to entail. She silently hoped that she would be rescued and taken away from here as soon as possible, that the heroes will bust in suddenly, defeat the villains, and take her back to the safety of UA. But Yaoyorozu was feeling more and more hopeless as the seconds passed, especially when Spinner went upstairs when a young girl shouted in alarm, then she heard Spinner tell Toga off for making Usagi freak out, saying that Toga had to watch herself around Usagi given how young she is.
...Wait a minute, Usagi is young?
...
It was just after the public broadcast that UA did to apologize for what had transpired at the training camp, and Aizawa and Sekijiro both collapsed into armchairs in a break room. Nezu went to go see if he could offer help to the team All Might was about to lead, although the principal of UA by no means was planning to take part in any of the action; as an intelligence-based hero, Nezu was best providing support in a mission control kind of role. "Well that was hell," Aizawa said, "Now you see why I had chosen to be an underground type hero as opposed to the kind of hero who works in the limelight."
Sekijiro nodded in the affirmative as Aizawa reached into a pocket on a jacket he left there in the break room before the apology press conference. "Oh yeah, but there's all sorts of-"
"Wait, Shinso needs to speak with me?" Aizawa spoke up, unknowingly cutting Sekijiro off and making him turn to see that Aizawa had fished a cell phone out from the pocket of his jacket. Aizawa was acting on instinct as the first thing he did after the press conference was check his phone, which he couldn't bring with him as they had to do the press conference.
As Aizawa proceeded to call up Shinso, Sekijiro said, "I get why you and your one student are in personal contact with one another, but-"
"Shinso, it's me," Aizawa said as the call got through, "I just saw your text. What's the situation?" Sekijiro looked on as Aizawa listened to his student on the other end. "...Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure did what?!" Aizawa said, then listened on for a bit. "...So Uraraka and Asui knew as the other girls told them, but when they discovered that the other girls snuck off anyway, they tried telling Nemuri who told them she'll speak with them later after things are settled, not even bothering trying to hear them out," Aizawa went on, "Wait, where are Uraraka and Asui now?"
Sekijiro looked on for a bit as Aizawa continued the call with Shinso; there were a mix of feelings in the underground hero's expression, mainly a mix of angered disappointment and approving pride. "...Okay, hand the phone to one of them, I wanna speak with them," Aizawa said. After a few seconds, Aizawa said, "Asui, can you give me the full details?" Aizawa listened on as Tsuyu who apparently was handed the phone on the other end by Shinso explained what all she and Ochaco had on the situation, as well as general expressing of concerns.
After a few minutes, Aizawa let out a tired, resigned sigh. "...Okay Asui," Aizawa said, "First off, I want you and Uraraka to know that neither of you are in trouble. You both had acted within the rules the moment you suspected some of your classmates had snuck off to needlessly risk their necks. I would also like to apologize to the both of you for how Nemuri had been blatantly useless and too hyper-focused to help you with the genuine concerns you had. I'll be speaking with her about this when everything is settled. You two had both done a lot of good by bringing this to my attention as soon as you were able to. I'll take it from here."
The call went on for a minute or two more after that, during which the phone on the other end was handed back to Shinso, Aizawa thanked Shinso for helping Tsuyu and Ochaco and told him he had done the right thing, then told him he'll see him and the other students later. After that, the underground hero ended the call. "Well fuck," said Aizawa, "My students Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure all snuck off to carry out an unsanctioned rescue mission in a bid to pull Yaoyorozu out of danger."
"Sounds to me like those girls are breaking every rule in the book concerning things here," Sekijiro said, "What will you do to punish the rule-breaking girls?"
"Assuming they aren't killed by this needless stunt they're pulling off," Aizawa began, "And assuming there are no other circumstances preventing me from doing so, I'm planning to expel Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure from UA."
The Blood Hero sucked in a cringing breath. "A bit harsh, don't you think?"
"The students need to learn that there are consequences to rule-breaking and needless, reckless risking of their lives," replied Aizawa, "Although assuming I am able to expel Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure, there's bound to be some resentment aimed at Asui and Uraraka as they reported it. Shinso to a lesser extent may also get some flak as he helped the girls."
"Ah, the 'snitches get stitches' mentality that is more common among school student bodies than we'd like," Sekijiro remarked, "Well, I'm sure that, as teachers, we can do something to keep the students from giving Shinso, Asui, and Uraraka grief for reporting the rule-breaking that Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure did."
Aizawa turned to arch a wry eyebrow at Sekijiro. "They're my students so they're my responsibility, and yet you speak as if you have a stake in things here too."
"I wanna help," Sekijiro said, "As well as try to set a good example for my own students by discouraging the 'snitches get stitches' mentality and reassure them it's okay to report genuine rule-breaking their peers do."
The underground hero nodded once in understanding. "Yeah, we can't let our respective students go on thinking they can't do the right thing for one reason or another." Aizawa looked up at the ceiling in the break room. "...We also ought to consider teaching Eri about what the right thing to do is."
"Oh yeah, the little one," Sekijiro said, "I heard she's got a much better hang of handling her quirk now, due to all the practice she's got in using it to restore the quirks of those who had them taken away under mysterious circumstances."
"I'd still like to know how those who had lost their quirks had lost them," Aizawa remarked, "And if it's not a sign of more to come."
Over at the police station, the police were going over a lot with the pro heroes. There were many pro heroes there, including All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Hawks, Mirko, Crust, Kamui Woods, Wash, Yoroi Musha, Ryukyu, Gang Orca, Shishido, Mt. Lady, Fatgum, Gran Torino, and Ingenium. And that's just naming a few of the number of pro heroes gathered; due to a mix of word on how it's the Yaoyorozu heiress being rescued and the fact All Might had personally asked for as many heroes as possible, there was quite the collection of pro heroes there. And many of them were top names in the field of Japanese pro heroism.
"So Boom-Boom Boy saw a giant ass villain who's rocking the same cool ears as me," Mirko said, looking suspicious.
"Indeed," All Might said, "And bear in mind that said villainess may be one of the single strongest villains we might deal with if it comes to blows in our efforts to rescue Young Yaoyorozu." Due to running on his memories of the alternate timeline, Toshinori knew what to do here, knew where to go. The other heroes divided up to go into their teams, but they were warned to show and use the utmost caution.
...Especially as Toshinori recalled that Dabi in the alternate timeline had a second ultimate bodyguard, one even more of a threat than Usagi the Rabbit-Earred Giantess. If both of Dabi's elite bodyguards show up as they did during these events in the alternate timeline, then it will take literally as many of Japan's finest pro heroes as possible just to stand a chance at beating the villains back. And even then, the Symbol of Peace feared that there will still be heavy casualties as a result of their efforts to save Yaoyorozu from the villains.
At least Toshinori was able to rest easy, knowing that Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero were being prevented from sneaking off on an unsanctioned rescue mission.
END, CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Author's notes;
This chapter (another chapter for this story that's slightly longer than average) covers the end of the training camp shenanigans and the beginning of the rescue mission shenanigans. Here Toshinori acts to prevent a tragedy he recalled from the alternate timeline, but he made an error due to a difference between the two timelines on which student it was that was kidnapped from the training camp. As such, rather than a trio of boys sneaking off to rescue Bakugo like how it went in the alternate timeline, here in the current timeline it's a trio of girls sneaking off to rescue Yaoyorozu. At least Tsuyu and Ochaco are able to report it, although they had to do some working around to get word of things to the teachers.
Meanwhile, Dabi and his Crew have Yaoyorozu in their hold, and the trio of Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure are closing in to try and rescue her. But that won't be necessary, as the heroes and police are already gearing up to go in. Toshinori worries given that the presence of Usagi the Rabbit-Earred Giantess had just been confirmed in the current timeline, and he prays that Dabi's other elite bodyguard won't show up as well. But how things will play out going out from here has yet to be seen. The heroes will be giving it their all over the next few chapters as they work to rescue Yaoyorozu from the villains. Meanwhile, Izuku will be having a certain meeting with certain persons as he's still sleeping at the hospital.
