Here we are at Chapter 5. Things are coming to a head as our heroes face numerous challenges at once. I do not own RWBY or Justice League. They belong to their respective owners. I only own my OCs. Here's chapter 5. Enjoy.

Chapter 5: What we Are

In the forest outside Beacon, Ruby and Khazhak's group continue their battle against the army of grimm. Ren slices the blades of his pistols through the head of a Beringel, then backflipping over a Beowolf while shooting at it. A Manticore flies in, only for Lloyd to jump up and punch it in the face, sending it flying. Vixen jumps off the back of an Ursa, swinging her sword down on a Boarbatusk. Flash distracts the Wyvern by literally running circles around it. Khazhak fires off a few spark shots before knocking a Beowolf away with a backhand, followed by swinging his sword to send out several lightning bolts at approaching grimm. He looks up as Cyborg battles the Leviathan, only to nearly get roasted by its breath attack. Khazhak charges up his semblance, spinning around and swinging his sword downward, sending a large arch of lightning at the giant grimm's side. Off to the side, Clark and Ruby takes shots at any grimm in their sights.

"You sure this isn't normally what happens with grimm? Are you memories glitching again?" Clark asks while using his laser eyes on grimm.

"I'd think we wouldn't forget seeing a grimm REBOOT! Even more so if it split off into a second giant grimm!" Ruby retorts.

They hear Nora shout as she runs up the Leviathan's back, jumping up and smashing her hammer down on its skull. Pulling the trigger, she makes an explosion to propel her back and force the grimm onto all fours. Lloyd uses this chance to jump up and deal a steel hook on the side of its head, staggering it.

"Nice job, Nora!" Ruby cheers.

"What's the new plan, Ruby?" Nora walks up to her.

"Right, the new plan, uh, it's-," Ruby stumbles.

"Figure out what attacks slow the Wyvern down the most," Clark suggests.

Ruby nods to Nora, but Nora disagrees, "You're not our leader. We're not kids!" Nora argues, running past them.

"You ARE kids," Clark points out.

"Have you looked in a mirror lately?" Ruby retorts, running up to take cover behind a boulder and fire off her weapon.

Clark comes up behind her, "Ruby, I don't mean to speak out of turn, but I've had plenty of experience as a team leader,"

"Me too!" Ruby retorts.

"Not enough, apparently," Clark argues.

Khazhak suddenly drops in with his blade in the back of a Nevermore, "I've told you, Superboy. You're not our leader. Ruby has proven that she IS a great leader," he says, firing off a spark shot to the side while glaring at Clark.

"Look, that's not what I-," Clark begins.

"I had it. I just needed a minute to-," Ruby says.

"Sometimes you don't get a minute!" Clark stop her. "Look, I'm sorry. It's just... I think it's my fault that we're all here. I think I froze... And because of that, my team, your friends... we're all in this mess because of me," he says, seeing an image of a mechanical opponent gripping Flash in its left hand.

Ruby looks past him, "Watch out!" she flies by and tackles Barry out of the way of the Leviathan's foot before they get crushed.

"Ruby!" Khazhak runs to help, sending out a wave of lightning to take the giant grimm's attention off of them.

Clark stares at flash and sees the memories from before, and gets a look in his eye.

"Are you alright?" Ruby asks as she helps Barry up.

"I don't know... I do know I'm not helping you guys much here," Flash replies, rubbing his head.

"What is going on, Flash?" Khazhak joins them.

"We need to talk," Clark comes in, crossing his arms, making the other two do the same.

Flash seems nervous, but...

"Nora!" Vixen's shout takes their attention to the Wyvern, which has Nora in the grasp of one of its hind legs.

Ren sees this and runs to help, while Cyborg sends his droid to aid them. The Wyvern crushes her until her aura gives out.

"Nora!" Ruby shouts.

The grimm drops Nora and Ren and the droid race to catch her.

"The grimm are everywhere!" Lloyd shouts.

"Ruby, incoming!" Khazhak yells, blocking a charge from a grimm to protect her as the grimm swarm on them.

In Atlas, Weiss, Edom, and Bruce continue their work. Weiss hangs her arms and pushes back on her chair.

She glares up at the monitors, "Why isn't this working?"

"I'm not getting much progress on my end either," Edom notes.

"Hey, guys, check this out," Bruce calls them over and they stand behind him. "There's a program here that's running all over your CCT system here," his screen shows a bunch of numbers and codes going over and over.

"Could that be why we haven't been able to contact our friends?" Edom asks.

Weiss stares at the numbers, "Wait, I've seen those codes before. When I was trying to contact my friends, that popped up," Weiss and Edom return to their seats.

"It's here in a different system, as well. That's not a coincidence," Edom says, typing away.

"Whatever this is, it's running on all systems. It's the only program that's operational right now," Bruce says.

"So, if we can change it up for our purposes..." Edom says.

"We can take control of this program ourselves," Weiss says.

Their work is halted when a sudden rumble shakes the room.

"That's not good," Edom mutters.

They head outside the lab, seeing a hole in the hallway further down, and grimm coming inside. More grimm from around the corner on the other side.

"Figures it wouldn't be that easy," Edom readies his twin-scythe.

"Weiss, remember, don't use any Dust," Bruce says.

"And what would you like for me to do, spit on them?" Weiss smirks, making Edom chuckle, and Bruce grunt.

Weiss goes one way while Bruce and Edom go another. Bruce spins in the air, landing a kick on a Beringel. A Beowolf jumps at him, but Edom cuts it in half. He swings his twin-scythe back, slicing through a second, while Bruce kicks away another coming at his left flank.

"I'd figured you be more focused on helping Weiss," Bruce notes, jumping back to evade an Ursa.

"Believe me, she can handle herself," Edom says, spin kicking away a Beowolf.

Weiss lands away from her grimm, twirls around, and then stabs her rapier into the floor to summon her Armas Gigas again. The summon swings its greatsword to take out two grimm that get too close. However, more keep coming. Weiss backflips into the air, landing on her summons' sword. It swings its blade, sending Weiss flying over the grimm. Landing behind them with style, Weiss summons a pair of giant Nevermore wings to blow them all away.

"I see what you mean," Bruce notes, looking back at her.

Edom separates his twin-scythe into its dual form and throws the scythes; the blades spinning in the air as they slice through a few Beowolves before returning to his hands. More grimm approach, but Bruce lands in between them and flaps his wings to blow them back. Weiss' summon cuts down any grimm that get too close. But, while she's holding her own, more grimm appear on Bruce and Edom's side. Bruce jumps back from them, but a Beowolf grabs one of his wings in its jaws and slams him down onto the floor.

"Bruce!" Edom fuses his scythes back together and cuts down an Ursa, but more grimm keep showing up. Weiss gets pushed back, only for her summon to catch her and put her safely on its back. Edom summons a pair of skull phantoms to pull a pair of grimm off of Bruce and gets in front of him.

"There's too many of them!" Bruce yells.

As the grimm close in on them, a chain-scythe flies out, hitting one followed by several bullets hitting a few more. Weiss looks over to see Blake and Porphyrius as the culprits. Diana flips over them, swinging her lasso up and sending Yang flying into the center the fight, her hair on fire. Yang smashes her fist into the floor, sending out a shockwave that takes out all grimm and makes them glitch away.

"You sure took your sweat time," Edom notes, holstering his weapon before helping Bruce up along with Weiss.

Porphyrius shrugs his shoulders, "Who says Khazhak's the only one that can make an entrance. Although, this one goes to Yang," he says, making the blonde wink at him.

"So..." Diana walks over, watching as the Armas Gigas dissipates before turning to the three. "Did I miss anything?" she jokes.

"Help us! Please, Pyrrha!" Jaune yells while banging on the door.

Jaune's group is still trapped in the room the fake Pyrrha led them into.

"That wasn't the real Pyrrha, Jaune. Whoever's controlling this place used your feelings for her against us. You know that," Voshkie'ahk says, sitting down next to Jessica, who has her arms wrapped around her knee; placing a hand on her shoulder.

"And now... we're all gonna die," Jessica mopes.

Jaune slumps against the door, "I'm sorry. This is my fault. I should've known better,"

"She must've been very special to you, huh," Jessica notes.

"She is... she was," Jaune mutters.

"I'm sorry that she's gone," Jessica offers her condolences.

"It's not your fault. It happened a long time ago," Jaune replies.

"Time is just a single piece of grief," Jessica says.

"Listen, we can't give up. If I know my brother, my friends, they're all out there, fighting right now. The one controlling this place is after them... and we need to reach them, no matter what," Voshkie'ahk stands up.

"But, how-," Jessica begins until the walls on the sides of the room start slowly closing in on them, making the other stand up.

"This isn't good," Tiamat looks around.

"Guys, the walls. Jaune... Voshkie'ahk!" Jessica starts freaking out.

Voshkie'ahk grabs her by her shoulders, "Listen, you have the power to get us out of here,"

"No, I... I can't. I can use my powers here! I thought... I thought I finally beat my anxiety. I thought I could control it now!" Jessica cries.

"Jessica!" Voshkie'ahk shouts, making the girl look her in the eye. "Listen, there is nothing wrong with being afraid. It's what makes us human. But, only when you don't let that fear consume you. Your fear is not what defines you, Jessica. I see you. I see what you can do. You are not defined by your fear... and you are NOT defined by that ring," she says, causing Jessica to stare at her.

Back in Atlas, Weiss and Edom explain to the others what they've learned.

"Wait, could you repeat that for us?" Porphyrius asks.

"And maybe in simpler terms for me. It's been a very long day and I am really tired," Yang sighs.

Weiss sighs, "We aren't on Remnant, nor are we from their world. This is a different place entirely,"

"Whoever brought us here modeled this place after our home, but they couldn't copy every single part of it. Only fragments of it," Edom adds.

"Well, that would explain Ozpin and my mom. They're not actually here. More like pieces, or broken memories, of our home," Blake says.

Meanwhile, Diana approaches Bruce, "Batman... Bruce?"

"This is our new friend, Diana. She's-," Blake gestures to her.

"I thought I was the only one here," Bruce interrupts her and walks up to her.

"She's from Bruce's world, but I'm guessing you already figured that out," Porphyrius says.

"You look a bit... different," Diana notices Bruce's wings.

"This world is very confusing. *Sigh* I just want to find a way back home," Bruce says.

Weiss grabs his arm, "You know, you're still welcome on our world. On Remnant," she offers, surprising her friends.

Diana chuckles, "Heh-heh, my apologies, what are you talking about?" she doesn't seem fond of the idea.

"Diana, this is Edom and Weiss. They've been helping me," Bruce introduces them.

"Hello, Edom, Weiss, a pleasure to meet you two. I've heard good things from your friends," she says nicely, flowers popping up around her. "Bruce, our home is back on Earth,"

Seeing that this is getting awkward, Yang steps in, "Maybe we should... get back to Vale and the others?"

Bruce walks up to Diana and spreads out his wings, "I have powers here on Remnant, Diana. I never wanted powers before. I didn't really trust them. I thought I was good without them. But here, on Remnant, I can do more. Way more than I could back on Earth,"

Diana cups his cheek, "But can help, Bruce. You help everyone on Earth. You have powers that we don't,"

"But, maybe with these new powers, I can go further... I could finally be someone like you... A warrior," Bruce says, stunning her.

A sudden beep stops them, "About time," Weiss says and runs back into the lab with the others in tow.

"You cracked the code?" Bruce asks.

"Not quite, but I did create a means of tracking these Dust-absorbing grimm. With Edom's help, I've been working around the CCT since it's not working. Whatever's going on here, it shut the whole CCT down just to run that strange program. That's why we couldn't contact each other. But, with this..." Weiss finishes typing away on her computer and it pulls up a video of the battle in Vale... and their friends facing the Wyvern and the Leviathan.

"No way, they're fighting a Leviathan AND a Wyvern?!" Yang gets very worried.

"Not to mention all the other grimm around those monsters," Porphyrius adds.

"They won't survive against all of those monsters," Weiss notes with worry.

"Then it's time we get back to Vale, now!" Blake says.

Diana and Bruce stare at each other, with the latter giving her a nod.

Jaune tries to keep the walls back with his shield and sword, while Voshkie'ahk uses ice and gravity Dust cards on the tops and bottoms of the walls to hold them back.

"This won't hold. Jessica. You can do this. Just believe in yourself," Voshkie'ahk says.

Jessica is on the floor, holding her head, "You can do this. You must do this... for them," she sees an image of her friends. "And for myself," her eyes light up as her power activates. Jessica holds out a hand to Jaune, who takes it and activates his semblance, while Voshkie'ahk lays a hand on top of theirs. Jessica reaches out with her right hand. "In brightest day. In blackest night. No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might. Beware my power. Green Lantern's light!" her ring forms on her finger and she unleashes her power; a green light that envelopes the whole room in its bright glow.

And that's the chapter. I know, a short one, but the next one will be a long one because of the big fight scene. The next chapter will also be the last chapter for this story, so look forward to it. Porphyrius and Yang's team meets up with Weiss and Edom's group in Atlas. Meanwhile, Jaune's group finally help Jessica overcome her fear and anxiety. Now the time has come for the final battle in this strange world all our heroes found themselves in. Will the huntsmen and huntresses of Remnant and the heroes of Earth finally settle this strange world and find a way back home? Until then, please Read and Review.
