I don't own Batman or Kingdom Hearts. They belong to DC Comics, Square Enix, and Disney. And here we are again, this time with a long action-packed chapter. With another action-packed chapter in the next one but for now, let's focus on this one. Before we begin, let's reply to some reviews.
the mysterious Mr.E: Not that long of a wait this time as the next chapter is finally here. As for your assumption of the main pairing... Maybe~ It's not like in there's a pairing box to confirm such a pairing~ (Looks at the intro for the fanfic [Jason T./Red Hood, Elsa]) OH WAIT! XD But seriously though, I'm glad you like the pairing so far...
Gamelover41592: Glad you like it and the joke too, just imagine what will happen to Hans if he tries to harm Elsa... Yeah, the Southern Isles might be missing a Prince after the events of Frozen... XD
VaderSkywalker: Yeah, I had a poll a while back wanting to do something similar with DC with either Batman or Jason as the main protagonist. Which leaned more till Jason but who knows... I'm thinking of doing a Post KH3 Re: Mind Sora in the events of the Arkham series where he eventually becomes the next Robin somewhere in the future. And I can see why the poll leaned more towards Jason because like you said, Jason doesn't really have solo series that takes place outside of Gotham without the Titains or Outlaws... Instead, he's going to extend the Batman family tree. XD And funny you should mention Marvel... ;D
SpiderxElsa: That won't be for a while but he'll eventually open up to her. About the Joker, his death, his resurrection, and the rest. So, hope it'll be worth the wait!
Guest: Yeah, then Bruce will be a Bat Grandpappy! Because he's...
Superman: A guy who likes to adopt a new Robin when the last one grows up.
Batman: No... BECAUSE I'M BATMAN!"
Yeah... that... XD And we'll see more Jason X Elsa moments... some are even in this new chapter!
edboy4926: Glad you like it but with Freeze... well, let's just say I have other plans for him... ;)
And with that out of the way, we present the new chapter! Enjoy!
Chapter 3: Let It Go
For the remainder of the time, Elsa was able to get to know the boy, Sora, a little better. He lived on the islands most of his life until today, and he dreamed of visiting other worlds with his best friend, Riku. In a way, he reminded her of her sister, especially when she was his age. Unfortunately, he just experienced a horrible loss at that same age too. It seemed like a miracle Jason showed up when he did, she feared what would have happened if this 'Empire' were successful in kidnapping the boy.
To think, they were people like her, and this boy was one of them. Able to travel anywhere he wished without the need for a ship or a crew. And Jason believed this was the tip of the iceberg. She could understand why he needed someone to look after him that understood what he was going through. If it had been anyone else... she feared what would happen to him if they were to discover he had powers. Not everyone would be as understanding as Jason.
This could be her only chance to meet other people like her, and from what Jason told her, they were devoted to using their powers for good and protecting others from those who would misuse their gifts for more nefarious purposes. It almost seemed like a dream, but it was real. Just as real as this boy and Jason, who she was surprised was getting close to. It was almost like he went through an even harder life than her, and was able to lead her a shoulder if needed.
Once this was all over, she wondered if she would ever see him again. Part of her hoped she would, but she also understood that God could have other plans for them. Still, she should probably discuss this with Anna, minus the fact that both she and Sora had powers, which Jason agreed to as they returned to the ballroom with Ace. She and Jason stood side by side the rest of that evening as the boy stayed close by with the hound. Jason wondered, "So, you think she's still having her duet with Prince Charming?"
"Most likely," Elsa admitted before stating, "I still find it hard to believe that your Gotham City doesn't have anything like that."
"Oh, we do," Jason replied with a smirk, "Just for entertainment purposes only. There's actually a musical about my sergeant father back home."
"Really?" The Queen of Arendelle blinked, "He must have been a really accomplished man. How was it."
"Oh, he hated it," The former Robin smirked, "Between you and me, I thought it was hilarious. I also think they nailed my character in it."
Both young adults shared a laugh at that, and soon enough, they could hear the Princess, "Oops! Pardon. Sorry. Can we just get around you there? Thank you. Oh, there she is. Elsa!"
Elsa took a deep breath, before glancing to the detective, "Well, moment of truth. Here we go."
"Just let me know if you need a moment alone with your sister," Jason told her, "I can understand some discussion, should stay between family."
The Queen smiled in appreciation as Anna approached them, and greeted her sister, "I mean...Queen... Me again. Um. May I present Prince Hans of the Southern Isles."
Hans bowed to her sister, "Your Majesty."
Elsa gives a polite but reserved curtsey she then gestured, "I'm sure you've already met, Jason."
"Oh, Mr. Todd! Hi!" Anna smiled as she now realized that the man she invited was standing... alongside her sister... Her smirk grew, "Sooooo... Is there something going on between you two?"
Jason blinked in shock before looking away slightly bashful as Elsa merely looked confused, "I don't follow..."
"I mean, you're already on a first-name basis, and I totally understand," Her sister went on, "Because if his children look as half as adorable as him, I was so..."
Now realizing her sister was suggesting both the former Robin and the Queen of Arrendelle began to protest, "WHOA!"
"Now hold on..." Jason shook his hands
"W-we only just met!" Elsa nodded in agreement while her face turned red.
"Exactly, and... and... stuff like 'love at first sight' only happens in books!"
"Yep! Jason and I were not- so not-" The Snow Queen shook her head, "I mean, it's not that I don't like or respect him... but there's nothing going on between us."
"I mean, people of other opposite gender can talk to each other as friends," Jason pointed out, "That doesn't mean they're in love or anything like that. They could be really good friends."
"Yep," Elsa nodded quickly to hide her blush, "Really good friends!"
Anna merely had a knowing smirk on her face, "Riiiiiiiiiight~ Whatever you say~"
Unknowing to the sisters, Hans gave Jason a mild glare. It was faint, but it was there. Enough for Jason to pick up, and it was enough to prove his first theory was right. He was in it for the throne, if he had to guess, since Elsa's abilities prevented anyone from getting close to her, seemly pushing them away, the obvious first choice wasn't an option. That would mean he'd have to sway Anna, which from the looks of it, he was having more success with...
It would seem the Prince of the Southern Isles never except Jason of all people for Elsa to get close to. Ture, his intentions were entirely different, and Jason would be lying if he didn't say the Queen was attractive, and he liked being around her, but he had no intentions of being king. However, that didn't mean he was going to leave him with the likes of the Queen and Princess if he had a say in it. Elsa cleared her throat, "So, was there something you wanted Anna because there's something I need to discuss with you."
"Me? Oh, right, but first," She turned to Jason, "So, Jason... can I call you Jason?"
"Jason is fine," The former Robin admitted.
"Okay, Jason," The Princess wondered, "What exactly do you do for a living? Just curious?"
"Oh," Elsa brightened up, "He's a detective."
"Whoa!" The eager Princess's eyes widened before turning back to her sister, "For real? He can solve crimes and stuff?'
"He showed me what he can do," Elsa smiled as she glanced at Jason, "He's very good."
"Can you show me?" Anna asked Jason, before gesturing to herself and Hans, "Ooh, ooh, take a guess what we were going to tell Elsa. Go ahead."
Elsa turned to the detective before whispering, "Yeah, you're not going to like the answer to this."
"What is it?" The Queen asked slightly concerned.
"Your sister and Prince Hans..." Jason sighed rubbing his eyes, "...want your blessing for their marriage."
"I'm sorry what?!" Elsa blinked in horror. Deeply wishing it wasn't true.
"WOW! OH MY GOSH!" Anna squealed as she hugged Hans before turning to him, "How did he know?" She then turned back to Jason, "How do you know?"
"The fact you've been swooning over him all day," Jason pointed out, "The fact that Elsa and I watched you have a duet..." He then muttered quietly to himself, "Which is still bizarre to me by the way..." He then concluded, "Finally, you two entered in like love-sick puppies that look like you've heard the best news of your lives. The only thing you were missing was a ring..." He then muttered quietly, "...and maybe some common sense."
Everyone seemed to miss that part as Anna beamed, "Wow! You are good!"
Elsa continued to blink in confusion, "I'm sorry. I'm confused."
"Well, we haven't worked out all the details ourselves." Anna admitted, "We'll need a few days to plan the ceremony. Of course, we'll have soup, roast, and ice cream, and then... Wait. Would we live here?"
"Here?" Elsa asked.
Hans nodded, "Absolutely!"
Jason sighed as he looked at her with sympathy, "I am so sorry."
"Jason, you did nothing wrong," Elsa reassured him before turning to back her sister and her fiancé, "Anna..." Elsa tried to get her sister's attention but she didn't notice, "Oh, Sora can bring the rings, maybe we can make a double wedding if Jason purposed to Elsa, and we can invite all twelve of your brothers to stay with us..."
"What? No, no, no, no, no." Elsa shook her head.
Anna just continued, "Of course, we have the room. I don't know. Some of them must..."
Elsa then stated firmly, "Wait. Slow down. No one's brothers are staying here. No one is getting married."
"Wait, what?!" Anna asked in shock.
"I don't mean to inject in a family matter but didn't you two meet this morning?!" Jason exclaimed, "How do you think this is safe?"
"Uh, true love?" Anna shrugged, "Why do you ask?"
The Red Hood rubbed his eyebrows, "Okay, you've read a lot of romance books..."
"Let me handle this," Elsa told the detective before turning back to her sister and asking her, "Anna... Can I talk to you... alone?"
Anna saw Hans's worried face so she hooks arms with him, "No. Whatever you have to say, you... you can say to both of us."
Elsa seemed nervous as Jason approached the Prince and grabbed him by the arm, "Actually, why don't we let the Queen have a private discussion with her sister, you and I need a guy talk..."
"But..." Hans spoke up as the former Robin pulled him away from Anna.
"Now," Jason glared at him, not giving him an option, he then glanced at Sora, "Sora, you and Ace stay with the Queen but let the two of them talk to each other privately."
Sora nodded as Elsa gave Jason a grateful look, Anna only looked confused as he dragged her Prince away, "What's with him?"
"He's a detective, Anna," Elsa spoke up on Jason's behalf, "He's probably seen many cases on the political side of things that wasn't on legal terms. Not to mention his own investigation..."
Anna blinked in confusion, "Investigation? What investigation?"
Elsa glanced at the guests around them, knowing one of them was in league with the Remnant of the Empire, "Anna, this conversation... we really do need to discuss it in private." She then glanced at the boy confused about what was happening, "And it heavily involves Sora."
"What are you doing?" Hans demanded as Jason dragged him over to where wine was being served.
After letting go of his arm, Jason glared at him, "Cut the act! I know the real reason why you want to marry the Princess!"
"Uh... I love h-" Hans tried to play dumb.
"Hans. I told you to cut the crap. In case you haven't figured it out, I'm a pretty damn good detective," The former Robin continued to glare, "You really think I wouldn't have figured it out by now?"
Hans stared at the Red Hood before brushing off his arm, "So, what gave me away?"
"The fact that you already admitted that you were never going to inherit your father's throne," Jason pointed out, "And when Anna thought the Queen and I were an item, really put a damper on your plans. Going to have the throne by some nobody from Gotham. You couldn't hide your own glare."
Hans couldn't help but wonder, "Are you and the Queen... a thing?"
"We just met and even if I was interested," Jason crossed his arms, "I have no interest in becoming King."
"Then what do you want?" The Prince wondered, partly hoping to bribe him, "Money? Fame? Women?"
"All I want is justice," Jason stated, "I have other business here and a promise I am determined to keep, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let you use an innocent young woman and try make an 'accident' of a certain Queen either. So, here's the deal, you have until I wrap my business here in Arendelle to call off the wedding. Maybe your not involved with my case, maybe you are. Either way, if you don't, I make sure you'll never even show up to the alter."
"Is that a threat?" Hans glared at the Red Hood.
"No," Jason returned the glare with his own, "A promise."
"I work too long for this moment," Hans threatened at the detective, "I'm not going to let some peasant from nowhere take this from me. So, I suggest for the boy's sake, you look away."
"We'll see about that," Jason refused to be intimidated...
"...and so Jason needs to figure out which one of our guests is the accomplice if he's ever going to catch the man who orchestrated Sora's parents' deaths." Elsa concluded back their parents' old study, now her own, "So... thoughts."
As Sora once again played with the toys Elsa lent him, while under the watchful eye of Ace, Anna sat on the couch just across from her older sister, "Okay, I certainly was not expecting that." After a moment of thought, before wondering, "But why does this Thrawn guy even want with Sora? He's just a sweet adorable innocent child."
"Jason's... been working on some theories," Elsa answered with a little fib, tugging on her gloves, hoping Sora wouldn't have to give up his own childhood over this. Still, it was best for Anna not to know the truth about his power, or her own. Clearing her throat, she continued, "All he's certain is that he's vital to their 'Operation Kingdom,' and they've been building up their forces all over the planet. They couldn't have done it near Arendelle without help and since the gates were closed it would have to have been..."
Anna gasped in horror, "One of our political guests! That makes so much sense!" Her eyes narrowed, "I bet was that Duke of Weaseltown guy! He seemed greedy the moment I laid eyes on him!"
"Does his home have weasels?" Sora asked out of pure curiosity.
"Weselton." Elsa corrected before smiling towards Sora, "And no, weasels are not native there." Elsa then turned her attention back to her sister, "Honestly, it could be anyone. We should probably leave the detective work to Jason. He is a professional after all and he does this for a living."
"I still don't see how Hans can't be a part of this," Anna crossed her arms, "Or why your boyfriend wanted to drag my fiancé for a... what did he call it?... guy talk?"
"Whoa! Whoa! He's not my boyfriend," Elsa waved her arms in protest, "We-we just met each other and I'm sympathetic to his case, and what will happen to his nephew if I don't help. I mean, sure, I like talking to him... and he... looks nice... but that doesn't mean I like him that way!" Anna looked like she didn't believe the words coming out of her mouth, she then cleared her throat, "Anna... you can't marry someone you've just met."
"You can if it's true love," Her sister argued, "Look you'll understand when Jason proposes..."
"He's not going to propose!" Elsa cut her off, "We just met! Jason understands that, besides he plans on returning to Gotham City once he figures out what 'Operation Kingdom' is. Besides, what do you know of true love?"
"More than you! All you know how to do is shut people out," Anna cried with a glare. This deeply hurt the Queen, before a small adorable sneeze could be heard, as they turned to Sora, making Anna correct herself, "Okay... maybe you're learning to open up a little bit..."
Just then, Ace turned to the door they came threw and started growling, causing everyone to stare at the Bat-Hound, Sora wondered, "What is it, boy?"
Curious about what was causing the dog to act up, both Elsa and Anna stood from their seats as the latter stated, "Okay, let's put a pin in this conversation."
Elsa nodded as they approached the door quietly before the Queen told the boy, "Sora, stay here until we figure out what's happening."
The boy nodded as the two royals exited the room... to find both of the guards lying dead on the spot and in their place stood a small squad of men in white armor and aimed their weapons at them, "Halt!"
Both Queen and Princess of Arendelle froze in shock, with their strange advanced weapons trained on them, one reached for his helmet, "Sir, we have the Queen and Princess? Orders?" After a pause, he nodded, "No sir," Another pause, "The key could be the study." Another pause, before he replied, "Copy that." He then turned back to the royals, "Alright, your Majesty, your Highness, you two are now prisoners of the Empire. Come with us."
Not giving much choice, they were forced to comply, he turned to another trooper, "Lock the study. The target won't escape from us this time."
"Yes, sir," The second trooper nodded as he did what he was told.
"Hey, leave him alone," Anna told the men.
"Quiet," The one in command snapped as they moved them back to the ballroom...
One moment, Jason was having a one and one chat with the Prince user, the next, Stormtroopers barged into the room, killing any guard that stood in their way. They had the entire room locked down. He didn't need to be the World's Greatest Detective to know their support tipped them off. Looking to the fallen in the room, Jason made a vow, "Someone's going to pay for this."
He wasn't sure who made the call and when they had the chance, he couldn't confirm it was Hans though, but he didn't rule him out either. He could have done it earlier and delayed the attack until he had a certain Princess of Arendelle wrapped around his finger. Soon enough, he spotted a squad of Troopers returning with Elsa and Anna as their prisoners. He then spotted a man in uniform walking up to them. Jason thought to himself, "The guy in the suit must be the one in charge. He could know who's their supporter and their base is."
"Excellent work, men," The commander smirked, "Put them with the others."
"Yes, sir," He nodded as they lead the royals with the other prisoners.
"Hans," Anna spotted the Prince of the Southern Isles, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," He reassured her before appearing concerned for her well-being, "Are you..."
Anna was telling him that she was unharmed as Jason leaned his way toward the Queen, "Where's Sora?"
"They locked him with Ace back in the study," Elsa answered, "He's still in there."
"Alright, I'll take care of these punks," The former Robin whispered, "When the action starts, tell everyone to get their heads down."
"You seriously think you stop them on your own?" Elsa wondered with a whisper.
"Trust me on this," He glanced at her.
All of a sudden the Duke of Weaslton exclaimed, "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! I DEMAND YOU RELEASE ME THIS VERY INSTANT?!" Just then, the Stormtroopers turn their blasters on him, making him nervous, "I-I'm sorry... Wh-what I meant to say was... what can I do you g-g-gentlemen?"
"I'm sincerest apologies for the intrusion," The man in the grey uniform spoke up, "But a valuable Imperial Target has been taken from us and I had orders to reclaim what is ours."
"Imperial Target?" Jason scoffed getting the commander's attention, "You mean the kid you were going to kidnap right after your boss's thugs murdered his parents right in front of him."
That got some of the other political figures, possibly also parents, eyes to widen. The Commander approached the unmasked Red Hood, "Ah, the rebel fugitive that dares to stand in the way of the Grand Admerial and the Empire."
"What Empire?" Jason smirked as Anna looked back and forth between the vigilante and the Imperial, "Last I checked, your Empire died the moment your Emperor was destroyed, wouldn't that make you the criminals? Not to mention, I first found you guys robbing a museum. Doesn't look well on your resume, Nazi Scum."
"A mild inconvenience," The Commander stated, "Now that the 'key' is back in our possession, Operation Kingdom is all will be complete and the Empire stronger and greater than ever."
"Not for long!" Jason growled, "You're going to tell me everything you know..."
"And why would I do that?" The Imperial asked with a smug.
"Because in a few minutes, you men will be either dead or dying," Jason answered as Elsa noticed Jason had something in his hand, but said nothing, "And everyone moment you don't give me what I want, is another bone broken..."
"Oh, really?" The Commander smirked, "Last I checked, you were unarmed while men will blast you down were you stand if you dare mare the slightest movement."
Jason glanced to the Queen, "You know those body searches, you had your guards do to make sure there's no weapons in the castle." Elsa raised an eyebrow, wondering where he was going with this, before he answered, "I may have hid some."
With a quick movement of his hand, he slammed a small object on the ground, covering the room with smoke. Realizing this was the moment, Jason told her, Elsa called out, "Everyone! Keep your hands down!"
The commander coughed, as he exclaimed, "Find the Insurgent! Kill him!"
"Yes, sir!"
"This blasted smoke! I can't see a thing!"
"Keep look he's got to be aroun- GAH!" Jason reappeared out of smoke for a moment to pull an unfortunate Stormtrooper back in.
The Stormtroopers rushed to where the attack happened as the smoke faded but Jason was long gone with the trooper laid dead on the ground... with his blaster missing, "What the... Where the hell did he go?!"
"Continue your search!" The commander barked, unaware a hand underneath a food table grabbed a knife, "Don't let anyone out of this room! Should anyone else try to aid him... Blast them!"
Jason waited until an Stormtrooper passed the table he hid under. Sheathing the knife in his belt, the Red Hood made his move. He tackled the trooper on the ground, before punching hard making him stay down. One of the Troopers nearby was startled by his sudden presence, "Wha- THERE HE IS!"
With a swift movement, he removed his tie, wrapped around the startled thug's wrist, went underneath, his armpit, and forced him to shoot his own men. The commander drew his pistol to shoot him, but Jason pulled the Stormtrooper he was using as a human shield who the commander fired his weapon.
The blaster bolts hit the Stormtrooper as Jason pulled out the knife from his belt and threw it right at the commander's blaster, knocking the weapon out his hand. Taking the blaster from the dead soldier, and the one he gathered from before as more Stormtroopers charged in.
Red Hood used his training back of his days as Robin to punch and kick any trooper too close. He then fired his acquired weapons at the ones from the distance. The royals and guests flinched at ever blaster that was fired but Anna, Elsa, and even Hans witnessed Jason skills as he ran up a nearby wall jumped off it, and shot the two Stormtroopers that he engaged in combat were they stood before landing before dealing with the remaining soldiers. They were impressed by Jason's deadly skill set... although also made Hans a little concerned.
Finally, the only Imperial left was the commander who seemed stunned that one man was able to eliminate his entire squad. Jason's eyes narrowed as he aimed one of his blasters at the Commander, "Now then, you were going give me answers... able about your little operation in Arendelle."
The commander seemed horrified as the former Robin approached him... until a sinister smirk appeared on his face. Elsa gasped, "Jason! Look out!"
However, her warning came too late, as mechanical hand grabbed Jason by the wrist, causing him to grunt pain making him drop his blaster before being thrown aside. He looked up to face his attack, a machine with thin legs and arms, but with a thick head and body, with two yellow eyes looking down upon him, "One hostel detected."
Jason aimed his other blaster at him before the machine swatted his aside and threw into the kitchen with the doors opening back and forth, "You been targeted for termination. Please do not resist."
"Okay..." Jason grunted as the doors opened back and forth, "Let's take this up a notch..."
Elsa held her hands, praying Jason would be okay, Anna hugged Hans with worry while the latter pretended to seem comforting before smirking as his secret looked like it was going to die with Jason... at least that how it seemed until the doors swung again, and opened up to reveal Jason vanishing from sight.
Shocking everyone, the droid entered the kitchen, as it searched for the former Robin, "You're chances of survival are low... very low."
After a minute of searching, Jason's voice spoke up, "You may want to double check that math."
Suddenly, Jason dropped from the ceiling wrapping his legs around the machine and pulled out a hidden knife of his own. One strong enough to cut Batman's rope. He struck it and the edge of it's bottom head at tried to pry it off as the Imperial Droid tried to throw his attacker off of itself. Slamming from wall to wall, Jason continued to push until finally a chunk of its head shell came off revealing its wiring.
Before he could follow through, the attack droid grabbed onto Jason's tuxedo before throwing him on the ground back in the ground. The Red Hood tried to recover, before it grabbed him by the throat and lifted him the air.
However, despite losing air, Jason anticipated this, and a taser dropped from his selves. He quickly armed it and jammed it in the opening he made. The imperial droid dropped the former Robin as it screeched in pain as it began to short circuit before its head blew up and it dropped to the ground completely motionless. After regaining his breath, he picked up a fallen blaster and aimed it at the commander. However, in the confusion, the Imperial Officer managed to pick up another blaster and held the Queen hostage. Anna gasped in horror, "Elsa!"
"Listen closely, Rebel Scum," The Imperial glared at him, "You will drop your weapon or this Kingdom will need a new Queen and the blood of this one will be on your hands."
Jason lowered his blaster as he reassured the Queen, "It's alright, Elsa... You're going to be okay..."
As he set down the blaster, in his other sleeve, hid one more weapon. A hidden batterang. One of the handful he had as his days of Robin. Thinking he had Jason beat, the Commander, with the Queen still has his hostage turned his blaster at him, "When the Grand Admiral told us of your skill, I thought he overestimated your abilities. That was my mistake. Yours was make yourself an enemy of Empire that would have brought order to the universe. You should've taken up the Grand Admiral's offer when you still had the chance. Too late."
He then fired his blaster, however, Jason dodged the bolts before they hit and threw the secret batterang at the commander's weapon. The projectile struck the hole of the blaster causing it to backfire and explode causing the Imperial to shout in pain and released the Queen to mend his wound. With the royal hostage safe, the Red Hood rushed in, lifted the officer in the air, and slammed the commander on the food table, breaking it in two. With the hostile down, Jason turned to the Queen, "You alright?"
"Well... that was a bit more action than I ever wanted in a lifetime," The ex-hostage admitted before giving a grateful look to Jason, "But I'm alright. Thank you, Jason."
Jason gave a smirk and nodded before glaring at the defeated commander, and stepped on his chest. Grunting for a moment, the officer glared back, "You may have killed my men, but while you were busy with us, the ones I had by the 'key' are delivering him to the Grand Admiral as we speak! You'll never see him again!"
"Is that right?" Jason's continued to narrow his eyes. Before placing two fingers in his mouth and whistled loud.
Suddenly angry barks could be heard and several unarmed Stormtroopers were chased into the ballroom, screaming with their tails between their legs as Ace chased after them. The Kingdom's guards reinforcements charged in and drew their swords at the panicked troops as one exclaimed, "WE GIVE UP! WE GIVE UP! JUST KEEP THAT THING AWAY FROM US!"
Sora peeked from behind the corner, and looked around, "Is it safe?"
"Oh, you poor thing," Anna rushed in to check on Sora, "Are you alright?" Sora nodded before Anna called out, "Can I get a doctor to check on him?! Just in case!"
"And some for the wounded!" Elsa added before glancing to Jason, "You alright? You took some nasty hits back there?"
"I'll be alright," He reassured her, "I've been through much worse than these punks." He then glared at the Imperial Officer, "Speaking off... who told you Sora would be here?! I know you have a man on the inside! Who is he?!"
However, instead of answering his questions, he exclaimed, "For the Empire!"
He then but his teeth hard, and an electric current shocked the officer. Jason's eyes widened, "No!"
When it died down, the life in the commander died with him. Elsa gasped in shock, "What was that?!"
Jason opened the mouth of the corpse, and saw the device in his mouth, "Shit! He had implant in his teeth if he was ever captured!"
"He'd... he'd rather die than talk," Anna stated in disbelief, who had covered the boys eyes so he wouldn't see the violence.
The Duke adjusted his glasses as he looked down upon the destroyed droid with the taser still lying in its head, "My word... what is all of this?"
"What is all of this..." Elsa asked Jason, before wondering, "Magic?"
"No. Science and technology we have discovered yet," The former Robin answered her, "Except the taser. That one was always mine."
"Speaking off," Elsa brought up the topic rubbing the back of her head, "Why did you keep weapons on your person when you weren't supposed to bring them into the castle."
Jason sighed, he knew this subject was coming, "My foster father is a paranoid man, he barely trusts anyone or anything with a contingency plan should anything go wrong. He made sure that I always have a backup plan while on the job... including holding onto a few tools should the situation call for it. Sorry about the deception."
"Well, given the circumstances and you only used them to protect us and defend yourself," The Queen replied, "I say it was justifiable so I'll pardon this but I do suggest..."
"I know. I'll give you or your personal guard an advance notice," The former Robin nodded.
Elsa smiled in relief, "That's all I'm asking."
Anna petted the dog, offering him a chicken bone, "Good boy." She the glanced to Jason as Ace knawed at the bone, "So where did you learn to fight like that... and vanished from plain sight... like a ninja."
"My foster father," Jason answered.
"You're father was a ninja?" Elsa tilted her head in curiosity.
"No, he learned ninjitsu, along with many other styles in fighting to protect all over the planet," Jason confessed, "Gotham is the wretched hive of scum and villainy... but it's home. So he detected his life to turn that around, make it a safer place for the innocent as it's protector... it's Dark Knight."
"Knight?!" Anna gasped in shock before shaking her head, "Wait, wait... wouldn't that make you... if he trained you... a... a..."
"Squire?" Elsa asked in disbelief, "At... at least at one point?"
"I was," Jason answered, not referring to his actual old title, "But an injury on the field put me out of commission for awhile so I was never knighted. So, I decided to settle for a solo career as a detective."
"Dang..." Anna muttered in impressed before whispering to her sister, "You think you could convince him to teach me some of his moves?"
"Not now..." Elsa told her her sister as Jason started a thorough search of the Imperial's body, "So, with the Imperial... gone... does that mean you're at a dead end."
"Not necessarily," The former Robin pulled a device from Imperial's uniform, "He had to figure out how to get here somehow."
"What is that?" Elsa pondered as Jason stood back up with the device.
After pushing a few buttons, Jason told her, "Hmmm... doesn't look like an explosive... Give me a moment..."
After another push, a holographic image appeared. The Duke of Weaslton gasped in horror, "Sorcery!"
"Again. Science," Jason argued calmly, "But I can understand the confusion." He exclaimed the device's image, "And I would say this would be their map."
Elsa, Anna, and Hans observed it, as the Princess of Arendelle gasped, "He's right!" She then pointed to an image of the castle, "That's Arendelle Castle."
"The Ford... the North Mountain..." Hans gasped, "It's all here..."
Jason had to admit, if Hans was the Imperial informant, he was an heck of an actor, he'd give them that."
"The Enchanted Forest... I'll have to check that out one day... if I ever work up the courage..." Elsa whispered to herself, before noticing something that seemed alien to the land, "What is that?"
Jason observed to where she was pointing at, "If I had to guess, I say that's where the set their base of operations here."
"If you're right, then it's not far from the Kingdom," Elsa turned to him, "Only a couple of miles."
"Then that's where I'm going," The Red Hood's eyes narrowed as he turned off the device.
"Hold it," A doctor ran up to him, "You are not going anywhere until a check up. Her Majesty was right when she said you took a beating protecting us. I need to look for wounds to patch up and make sure the metal monstrosity did break anything."
"I'm fine. Really," Jason tried to speak.
"I'm sorry, you're not going anywhere until I take a look," The doctor told him as other medical staff checked for wounded and one kindly checked on Sora.
The former Robin sighed as he removed the ruined tux and unbuttoned his collared shirt, "Fine... let's get this over with..."
"W-wait! I-I-I think he meant in a different room or-" Elsa waved her hands to stop him, unfortunately or fortunately, depending who one ask, he had alright removed the collared shirt. Which many women were stared in awe including a baffled Elsa, "...or... or..."
As the doctor bandaged and mended his wounds along with checking his wrist, Elsa could help but notice how well build he was. There were many battle scares to be sure, there was also those... those abs... and the muscles... Elsa face had never turned that shade of red before. What was even worse, that Anna was giving her a smug look, "Like what you see?"
Looking between Jason and her sister, she pouted, "Stop that!" She then tried looking away, before her eyes turned back to Jason, before back to her smiling sister, "Stop it!" She then cleared her throat, "In the meantime, send out condolences letters to those of the fallen to their children and wives... and let them know I will personally fund their funerals. Along with medical bills to the survivors."
"Yes, your Majesty," One of the servants with griefs in his eyes.
"Okay... nothing appears to be broken..." The doctor muttered as he observed Jason's body, "Considering the scars, I'm actually surprised your still doing this career."
"Someone has to do this job, might as well be me," Jason told the doc, before recalling the days Alfred patched him up. He missed that butler. He always made you feel apart of the family. He then noticed Elsa was looking away from him, "You alright, Elsa?"
"I'm fine," She squeaked before clearing her throat, "Pardon me. Yes, I'm fine... thank you, Jason."
As he finally had permission to put his collared shirt back on, Anna tilted her head, "So... you let him call you by your first name too."
"Well... it's only proper..." The eldest sister replied, "He prefer Jason over Mr. Todd, so, I didn't fit for him to call me 'Your Majesty' every time... so... yeah..."
The Princess of Arendelle crossed her arms, "You like Jason."
"NO!" Elsa blurted off with a blush, before calming herself, "I mean, sure, I respect Jason."
"Yeah, you do," Anna teased her sister.
"I mean I respect his choice in career!" Elsa blurted out in defense, "It doesn't mean I like-like him!" She cleared her throat again turning to Jason, "So... Umm... did you still need that guide or anything. Equipment? Armor?"
"Everything I need I just outside the castle with the rest of the stored weapons," Jason reassured her, "I will still need the guide and possibly the men if there are any still up for the task. If they don't wish for this mission, I don't want to draft anyone to..."
"Excuse me, your Majesty," Jason, Elsa, Anna, and Hans turned to the standing guard and those who stood at attention, "Many of these men that were killed were some of our closest friends, and we're itching for a little payback. If it means going into the own home, then we volunteer."
Elsa glanced to Jason, "Well, guess that answers that question. How soon will you be able to leave?"
The Red Hood smirked, "Immediately." Before gesturing towards the crowd, "Then that just leaves..."
"Right," Elsa recalled. The informant. The reason the Remnant of the this fallen Empire barged into her castle tonight. The reason why many were dead and put Sora's life in jeopardy. If they tried to leave before they could get any answers... She whispered, "Leave it to me."
She then spoke with a clear voice, "Excuse me, everyone..." Everyone turned to the new Queen, "I deeply apologize for this, but... but due to tonights... uninvited guests and the fact we have confirmation that there are more of them out there... for everyone's safety until this matter is settled and the culprits are safe behind bars... no one is to set sail for home."
A few protests could be heard, one of those was from a certain Duke, "As much as I'd love to stay another day of this wonderful kingdom, but you cannot keep us here!"
"I have business to attend to at home!"
"Where will stay?!"
"Available inns and motels will be made available for you to stay in for the time being," Elsa declared, "We'll try to get matter shorted as soon as we possibly can..."
She then walked up to Jason, "When you spoke with Hans... what did you make of him?"
He knew what she was really asking, 'is he a suspect' or more specifically, 'is he too dangerous for Anna to be around?' Jason whispered, "Can't say he's not off the list but either way, he's no good for Anna. He wants to marry her but not for the reasons she thinks."
Elsa's eyes widened before whispering, "Are you certain?"
"I am. Practically got him to confess that he's after your throne," Jason glared at Hans, "Anna really needs to dump his ass right now." Elsa blinked before he apologized, "Yeah, I know, if I'm going to raise Sora, I need to work on what I say..."
Elsa smiled sheepishly, "Well, at least you aware of it..." Before giving him a grateful smile, "And thank you for the warning... I'll make sure Sora is well looked after while you deal with those men just..." She then gave him a concern look, "Just be careful, okay? I know you're more than capable but..."
"I'll be fine..." Jason reassured her, "I'll be back with your guard before you know it."
Elsa smiled before turning to her sister and Hans, "Now then, you asked for my blessing and my answer is no. Now, excuses me."
Hans spoke up, "Your Majesty, if I may ease your..."
"No, you may not. And I... I think you should go." Elsa told him with a glare. Stunned by this, the Prince of the Southern Isles glanced to a smug Jason.
Elsa turned to captain of the guards, recovering from his wounds from the assault earlier, "The party is over. Close the gates when your are able to, and whatever guard not accompanying Mr. Todd secure the kingdom."
"Yes, your Majesty," He nodded, leaving the Princess in a confused state.
As Elsa walked away, Anna went after her, leaving Sora on his own after getting confirmed that he was unharmed. Hans walked up to Jason with a glare, "This isn't over..."
What? Elsa, no, no! Wait." Anna tried to stop her from going into her room again and shutting her out again but pulled her glove off instead.
Elsa turned around and reached out for her glove, "Give me my glove!"
"Ah fuck... That can't possibly end well..." Jason thought to himself as he shoved aside as he walked up hoping to ease the tension.
"No, Elsa, please, please," Anna shook her head as she pleaded, "I can live like this anymore."
"Then leave once it's safe," Elsa told her sister sadly, "But not with Hans."
"You're Highness," Jason tried to call out to the stunned Princess, which fell on deaf ears.
Anna cried out, "What did I ever do to you?!"
"Enough Anna." Elsa told her.
"No. Why? Why do you shut me out?! Why would you try to shut a good guy like Jason out?!" Anna demanded, "Why do you shut the world out?! What are you so afraid of?!"
"I said, Enough!" Elsa repeated as she waved he hand accidentally revealing her powers shocking everyone except Jason, Sora, and Ace. The Red Hood managed to pull Anna back from the icicles while they stopped early for the child.
Thankfully, no one was harmed but the secret was out. Jason muttered to himself, "Damn it..."
The Duke glared at the Queen as he ducked behind his bodyguards, " ...Sorcery. I knew there was something dubious going on here."
Anna was just as shocked as everyone else, "Elsa."
Elsa, acting only on fear now, opened the door and ran out of the room...
Moments later, Elsa ran outside the gates where she was greeted by her people who were relieved the the invasion had been repealed.
"There she is..." A woman called. Everyone smiled and clapped for her. She walked her way through the crowd, completely terrified. Everyone gave her complements as she ran by, one of the mothers noticed her scared expression on her face, "Your Majesty? Are you all right?"
The mother's baby laughed. She walked back slowing and accidentally placed her hand to the fountain causing the water to freeze. Making people back away in shock.
"There she is! Stop here!" The Duke called out with his bodyguards beside him.
"Please, just stay away from me. Just stay away!" She warned him but accidentally shot an icy blast at the ground cause him and his guards causing them to slip to the ground.
The Duke sat up, pointed at her and called her, "Monster! Monster!"
Everyone backed away in fear, while the baby in the area cried. Elsa was just terrified as they were. Just then, Jason knocked the Duke out of the way as he ran passed him, "Move it, Weasel Town!"
"W-Weaslton!" He exclaimed as one of his men caught him, "It's Weaston!"
"I know what I said!" The former Robin snapped as he stood between the Queen and everyone else, "Alright, easy, easy, it was an accident..." He turned to the Queen with gentle eyes, "It was just an accident. Look at me... I'll go get your glove back... we'll go back inside... and we'll get this all figured out."
Elsa wanted to believe Jason, she truly did, she never knew that there were others like her until he showed up. Meeting someone like Sora, and the possibility that Jason could find someone to help them control their power seemed like a dream come true. However, it was too late, everyone knew, she couldn't stay here. She then ran toward the ocean as Jason sighed, "...or not."
"Elsa!" He heard the younger sister of the Queen raced after her followed softly by Hans. Jason followed after the two, only to make sure the latter wouldn't cause any trouble.
They were catching up to her. She placed her foot on the water, which instantly froze. She then ran across the newly frozen ocean. Anna tried to follow her but Hans stopped her so she wouldn't get hurt. Jason stopped shortly after they did and watched as Elsa reached the far shore without looking back. She just continued to scramble to the mountains. However, Jason notice the ice didn't stop at the water, "Well... this is just perfect..."
Back on land, Hans's eyes widened, "Look... The fjord."
Everything was freezing, entire ships were trapped in the ocean and it began to snow. Summer had just changed to winter in a matter of minutes...
The three walked back to the palace as Hans asked her in concern, "Are you alright
The Princess replied, "No."
"Did you know?" He asked.
Anna shook her head, "No. I don't think anyone knew."
"I did," Jason admitted as he looked at the snow clouds from above them.
"Okay, Jason knew," Anna admitted backhandedly before fully realizing what Jason just told her, "Wait, what?! You knew?! How?!" Jason just stared at her for a minute before remembering, "Right! You're a detective! Duh!" Before asking, "Wait, why didn't you tell me that I should have give my sister's glove back?"
"I tried to," Jason spoke up, "Buy even if I succeeded, would you have right there and then? Without explanation why she needed that glove."
Anna thought about before admitting, "Okay, good point. Sorry."
"It's cool," Jason reassured her before turning to the people baffled by the chance of weather, "Although, the main reason, I didn't say anything... I had a good feeling people... wouldn't have understood her situation like you and me..."
"Oh, look, it's snowing! It's snowing! The Queen has cursed this land!" The Duke panicked before his eyes narrowed in anger, "She must be stopped!" He turned to his bodyguards, "You have to go after her!"
"What?! No!" Anna gasped getting the Duke's attention.
The Duke hid behind his guards, "You! Is there sorcery in you, too? Are you a monster, too?"
"No, I'm completely ordinary," Anna stated.
Hans put a hand on her shoulder, "That's right. She is." Anna looked to her fiancé as he added, "In the best way."
Jason faked a cough, "Kiss ass!"
Hans eyes narrowed at the Red Hood who quickly acted innocent. Just as Sora with Ace by his side walked outside amazed at all the snow, "Wow..."
Anna smiled then turned back to the Duke, "And my sister is not a monster."
"Your sister just tried to kill me." The Duke argued.
Hans just looked at him, "You slipped on ice."
"Her ice..." The Duke argued.
"Oh, don't be such a crybaby," Jason glared at the Duke, "Queen Elsa is clearly not a monster. In fact, she's more afraid of people like you if anything."
The Duke scoffed, "Preposterous! What do you call this then?! What would you call her then?!"
"A terrified metahuman who's been scared all her life because what she can do!" Jason exclaimed.
Everyone turned to Jason as Anna asked, "Wait, metahuman? You... you know what Elsa is?"
Jason sighed as he rubbed his eyes, no point in going back now, "Yes, a metahuman. They're humans who can perform superhuman abilities, there's a little gene inside them, when activated gives them their abilities. Most are unaware they have this gene until an accident, like getting struck by lightning for example, activates that gene. Others, like Elsa, are active the day they're born. It's not their fault, they can do the things you do."
"...and you've met others like Elsa," Anna assumed.
"Of course," Jason nodded, "Like normal humans they're are capable of good or evil, and while I have many who would use their gifts for their own purposes and are actual monsters... but there are many who use their talents to protect those who can't fight for themselves. They're called heroes. Some of which are some of my closest friends."
Gasps and whispers could be heard, Anna smiled, "That's great! Can you call on them! Can they help Elsa stop this winter?!"
"Well, I was going to, I spoke with your sister and I told her I would send someone to help her," The former Robin admitted, "But someone decided to remove her glove and expose her secret to everyone..."
Anna's eyes widened in realization, "Ooooooooh..." She winced, "Yeah, that was my fault..."
"Oh, no, I don't blame you, your highness," He reassured her, before glaring at the Duke, "I blame the little weasel who overreacted by calling her a monster and chased her out of the Kingdom, starting this mess, and pretty much stopped anyone who can help anytime soon!"
"Weaslton!" He snapped and before gesturing to the ice, "And again! She tried to kill me!"
"Oh, keep talking like that and I might have turn myself in," Jason cracked his knuckles, "For showing what actually trying to kill you looks like."
The Duke seemed to lost his voice at that moment before whimpering behind his guard. Jason looked at the Duke before to the guards, as if he was saying, "You really think you could stop me from killing him."
The worried glances pretty much told him everything. However, Anna jumped between the group of people, "Listen, it was an accident." She then spoke up loud enough for everyone to her, "She was scared. She didn't mean it. She didn't mean any of this... Tonight was my fault, I pushed her and exposed her to you causing all this and stopped anyone capable helping her out of reach. So, I'm the one that needs to go after her."
Hans gasped, "What?"
Jason looked concern, "And this just keeps getting better..."
"Bring me my horse, please." She called.
Hans went after her. "Anna, no. It's too dangerous."
Anna turned to him, "I'll bring her back, and I'll make this right."
Hans told her, "I'm coming with you too."
"No," Anna shook her head.
"Don't you say it, don't you say it..." Jason thought to himself as he hoped Anna wasn't going to do what she thought she was going to do.
"I need you here to take care of Arendelle," Anna told the Prince of the Southern Isles.
"Damn it! This is even better than he originally planned!" Jason cursed while Sora was confused what was going on.
He sees the desperation in her eyes, "... On my honor."
"Hold it, your highness," Jason called out to the Princess making Hans flinch a little, not that Anna noticed, she turned to the man she believed Elsa had affection for, "Look, I understand, why you need to do this... and she is your sister after all... but maybe you should let me go in your stead or at the very least let me go with you."
"Why?" Anna couldn't help help but ask.
"One, I have a whole lot better tracking her than you do, second, there could be hundreds if they're not thousands of Stormtroopers hidden in the forests, and something tells me you don't know how to defend yourself." Jason pointed out, "Plus, I really don't think she'd want anything to happen to you or leave a complete stranger in charge of the Kingdom."
"Hans in not a stranger." Anna shook her head.
"Okay, what's his last name?" He asked her before glancing at Hans, "Don't help her."
"Uh..." Anna thought for a moment, before making an answer, "...Of the Southern Isles?"
"Favorite food?" Jason wondered
"Sandwiches," Anna answered.
Jason went on, "Best friend's name?"
Anna guessed, "Probably John?"
"What color eyes does he have?" Jason asked as he covered the Prince's eyes so she wouldn't cheat.
"Is this really necessary," Hans muttered quietly to himself.
"Dreamy," Anna swooned.
Putting his hand down, Hans glared at Jason, as the latter asked, "Foot size?"
"Foot size doesn't matter," Anna shook his head.
"Look, your Highness," Jason finally stopped asking questions, "The point is you know very little about this guy and that last thing you want to do is marry the wrong guy. My own mother married a small-time criminal and had me, my old man ended getting killed by his boss when he was in a bad mood while I lost my mom to a metal illness, forcing me to live on the streets the first years of my life."
Both Anna and Hans stared at him as the former stated, "Wow... just wow... did not think that's where this conversation was going." She then glanced to Sora who was observing the snow and too distracted to listen in on the conversation, "Can I have a little one and one with you?"
Jason nodded as he followed the Princess a little out of the way of hearing range, "Look, you definitely have some points..." Jason raised an eyebrow, "About finding Elsa, not my relationship with Hans..."
"Figures it wouldn't have been that easy," Jason thought to himself.
Anna continued, "...and I totally would bring you along since you're good in a fight, smart, the fact Elsa might open up to love with you..."
"Again. We just met," Jason pointed out.
"...but you are needed more here. Those bucket-headed jerks might come back, and you need to make sure you stop them like you planned or they're just going to keep coming for your nephew because of what he can do," The Princess pointed out.
"I never told you he was a meta," Jason realized before wondering, "Did Elsa say anything?"
"No, I kinda figured it out, after she exposed her powers, and the fact she was going to let him stay..." Anna pointed out the two details, "I may put two and two together..."
"Huh? So she can use that brain of hers," The former Robin thought to himself.
"Look, he needs you more, and if someone like the Duke finds out..." Anna's voice trailed off. Not liking even thinking what would happen, "...besides they're after Sora not me or Elsa, you're the best suited to protect him and stop the bad guys, I'll just get Elsa and get back her and bring back summer, then Elsa becomes Queen again."
Jason sighed, he didn't like it, but the Princess had a point. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a small device, "If I'm going to let you do this, at least take this with you."
Taking the tiny device, she wondered, "What is it?"
"A tracker," He answered before explaining, "See that tiny button in the center?"
"Uh-huh," Anna stared at the alien device, wondering where he was going with this.
"If you are in trouble, hide yourself and press it," Jason instructed, "I'll drop everything, find you, and pull you out of trouble. Got it?"
"Really?" Anna blinked in amazement as Jason nodded, "And this helps you find me?" He nods again, she muttered, "Cool..."
"Try not to lose it though," The former Robin told her, "I can't find you if you don't have it on you."
"Got it!" Anna smiled pocketing the device, "Listen... thanks... Good luck with the base and catching the spy..."
"Same to you... in finding your sister and bringing back summer," Jason told her as he walked back to Sora.
"Miss Anna," The young voice of Sora, "Will Elsa be okay?"
"She'll be fine, I'll bring her right back," She reassured the boy, "Nothing bad will happen to her." She then said to everyone, "I leave Prince Hans in charge!"
Giving Jason a smirk, he pretended to act worried for Anna, "Are you sure you can trust her? I don't want you getting hurt."
She's my sister; she would never hurt me." Anna replied before she rode off to the unknown.
Jason was forced to watch Anna charge head-first into danger. For a brief moment, Anna's image was replaced by his younger self rushing into the warehouse Joker despite Batman's orders to not to engage alone... it was the same night he... Jason shook his head, "No, Elsa was no Joker. And it's like Anna said the Empire was after Sora, not them... at least for now. If Hans was the informant, things could change. I just had to hope for the best for the moment. Find out what I can here before going to storm their base."
Jason then saw Sora shiver in the cold, he called out, "Does anyone know where we can get Sora a coat his size?"
Later that evening, Jason was now back in the clothes he wore before coming to this world, minus his helmet. He was able to acquire some warmer clothing and coats for Sora for the next few days so he wouldn't freeze. Now in one of the guest rooms, Jason replaced his empty guns with some of the pistols he took from the dead or captured Stormtroopers and was getting a feel for them. Improvements needed to be made, that was for certain, but it would have to wait until he could get to a place where he would be capable of upgrading his gear. Placing the blasters in his hostlers, he heard the voice of Sora speaking up, "Uncle Jason?"
"We're alone, Sora," He told the boy, "You don't have to call me Uncle if you don't want to. I'm not actually your Uncle you know."
"I know..." The boy frowned from his bed, "...but can I ask you something?"
The Red Hood walked over to Sora's bedside, "What's your question?"
"I never saw snow until today," The boy admitted, "Tomorrow can I play in it with the other kids?"
Jason sighed, "I wish I could say yes..." He then turned to Sora, "But those men are out there. And they won't stop coming until they have you. I need to stop them if you're ever going to be safe from them..."
"Oh..." Sora frowned.
Jason placed a hand on the boy's shoulder, "Look, before Elsa brings back Summer, I'll see you'll get a chance to play in the snow before we move on, okay?"
Sora gave a small smile before wondering, "Are Miss Elsa and Anna going to be okay?"
Jason stood outside as he looked down at Hans, playing the part of a benevolent leader, "I hope so..." His eyes narrowed, "Or I'm dealing with Hans too before returning to Gotham... I don't care when I am... I'm not having scum like Hans have their way by using innocent women..."
All of sudden, Ace barked loudly getting his attention, Jason turned back to see Sora's eyes glowing white. His eyes widened with concern, "Sora?" When he didn't get a response, ran to his side, "SORA!" He reached out to him, "What's wrong?! Speak to me..."
As soon as he touched his should, Jason was blinded by the light...
Jason didn't know where or when he was, everything was covered with snow, he could make out three figures marching their way in the snow. He could make out a tall goofy-looking anamorphic dog dressed in green and yellow, another was a short anamorphic duck wearing blue and black, and the third looked oddly like an older version of Sora, dressed in black with shades of red. Brother maybe? Alternate counterpart? He couldn't say for certain, he could hear a piano playing through the winds, and a familiar voice was singing through the blizzard, "The snow glows white on the mountain tonight~ Not a footprint to be seen~ A kingdom of isolation~ And it looks like I'm the queen~"
That voice... it sounds so beautiful and yet so familiar... like a serin from mythology calling out to him... "The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside~ Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried~"
"Huh?" The dog alien lifted an ear also recognizing the voice.
"Wak? The duck gasped as he and the teenager picked up the voice as well.
"Don't let them in~ Don't let them see~ Be the good girl you always have to be~"
"That's Elsa's voice!" The Sora look-alike perked up as all three ran toward the source of the voice.
Jason's eyes widened, that was Elsa? Where was she? His eyes narrowed as the blizzard died down, enough to see Elsa, high in the mountains, "Conceal~ Don't feel~ Don't let them know~ Well, now they know~"
He saw Elsa throw her other glove and lost it to the winds. "Let it go~ let it go~ Can't hold it back anymore~" She then used he powers to create a snowman before continuing to unleash her powers, "Let it go~ let it go~ Turn away and slam the door~ I don't care~ What they're going to say~ Let the storm rage on~" Elsa then released her cape into the wind, "The cold never bothered me anyway~"
Jason watched as the cape flew passed him along with the trio on the mountains just behind Elsa. The older Sora called to his allies, "This way!"
Jason turned his attention back to Elsa as she continued to make her way through the mountains, not noticing Jason or the three, as she sang, "It's funny how some distance~ Makes everything seem small~ And the fears that once controlled me~ Can't get to me at all~"
She then used her powers to create snow stairs near the edge of the cliff, "It's time to see what I can do~ to test the limits and breakthrough~" Elsa ran up to her snow stairs, "No right~ No wrong~ No rules for me~" Elsa placed her foot on the staircase and the snow solid into ice, "I'm free~"
"Let it go~ Let it go~" She sang as she ran up her newly created ice stairs and extended it with glee as she ran up them, "I am one with the wind and sky~"
The trio, unaware of Jason's presence just as Elsa wasn't aware of theirs, watched the events take place as the older Sora muttered, "Look at that!"
"Let it go~ Let it go~" She had reached the top of the other mountain, "You'll never see me cry~" She then ran to the center of the snowy mountains and created an ice floor that reached the stairs, "Here I stand~ And here I'll stay~ Let the storm rage on~"
Elsa then raised the floor to rise as an ice castle formed around her, Jason stared, "Holy crap!"
"Whoa!" The Sora look-alike and company watched in awe as well.
The Snow Queen danced as she declared, "My power flurries through the air into the ground~" She then began to create the walls and roof of her newly made home, "My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around~"
She then started to form an ice chandelier as a final decoration, "And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast~" She then removed her crown and stared at it, "I'm never going back~ The past is in the past~" Elsa threw the crown aside and changed the style of her hair as it went down on her right shoulder, "Let it go~ Let it go~"
"And I'll rise like the break of dawn~" She sang as she created a new ice dress and cape as Jason felt his jaw hit the floor, "Let it go~ Let it go~ That perfect girl is gone~" She then walked her way to the sunlight, "Here I stand~ In the light of day~ Let the storm rage onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn~"
"The cold never bothered me anyway~" She then turned around to enter her new home and slammed the doors behind her...
Jason finally snapped out of what he just saw and fell back on the floor, he was back in the guest room in Arendelle's castle. What the heck was that? When was that? Did that just happen? Or was that supposed to happen before Thrawn and the Remnant of the Empire began screwing with the timeline. Elsa looked... well she was beautiful before but that new look... she looked gorgeous. He shook out of his thoughts, as he recalled what happened before that vision, "Sora!"
The boy rubbed his head, as he looked at Jason, "Wh-what was that? Was that... me?"
Jason turned to Ace, who whimpered, looks like he wasn't the only one who experienced that vision, Ace and Sora did too. The islander spoke up again, "Uncle Jason... what's happening to me?"
Jason stood back on his feet and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I don't know..." He then made a vow to him, "But we'll figure it out, I swear it."
And that will conclude today's chapter. So, Jason and Elsa know the real reason why Hans wants to marry Anna. I mean the former was raised by the World's Greatest Detective and of course, he would tell Elsa. He had to warn her after all. Unfortunately, he hasn't told Anna, yet so she still thinks it's true love but how will it affect the story?
What will Jason's and the Empire's role be in all of this? Is Hans the informant or is it someone else? How are Sora and those around able to see events that haven't happened yet? Stay tuned and find out!
