"Radiant Spirits and Shadows of serenity"
It was a bright and shiny day, people of Vale are doing their daily needs, walking down the streets, doing their work, cars going left and right and center, then a strange lively girl was skipping along the sidewalk of vale, she wore a white (napoleon) Trench coat with a white suit with a cute and adorable pink tie hanging by her neck, she has a white scarf on her face as the end of the scarf flutters as she hops down and up, letting the wind blow her scarf. She was a happy girl, curious and having an aura of kindness and liveliness around her, she hums a small song with her mouth.
As she gracefully danced through the bustling streets of Vale, an aura of vibrant energy surrounded her, captivating the attention of everyone she passed. Her mere presence seemed to infuse the surroundings with a newfound vitality, drawing the curious gazes of onlookers who couldn't help but be enchanted by the infectious spirit she exuded with every step. Her countenance radiated an unwavering sense of joy and optimism, her smile an embodiment of a brighter tomorrow. Those who crossed her path couldn't help but be drawn to the magnetic warmth she projected, as if her very presence was a beacon of hope. With each interaction, her genuine demeanor left an indelible impression, instilling in others a renewed sense of possibility and a glimmer of hope that lingered long after she had passed.
She kept skipping down on the side walk before getting tired and walking down the street, her enthusiasm was still there as she places of her hands on her hip and one hand on her pouch that was dangling down by her side, she looks down and opens it to grab a lollipop, she unwraps the wrapper and places the lollipop in her mouth before walking gracefully to her location.
She reciprocated the waves from the bustling crowd with a cheerful enthusiasm, her hand lifting in a friendly acknowledgment to those who recognized her. Amidst the sea of faces, she made a point to bend down and exchange joyful high-fives with the wide-eyed children who looked up to her with an innocent admiration, their imaginations painting her as a true huntress embodying valor and heroism.
And then Jess got smacked in the head by her sister Jade, Jess placed her hand on the back of her head and began rubbing it before looking at Jade with an annoyed look and frown.
"AH! OW! Jade! Where were you Jade and what the freak was that for?!" She asked her sister with a bit of playful anger and with cute frown on her face.
"I was... At the park Jess and I didn't want to lose my chance on hitting you on the back of the head," She answered back with a faint smile with her lips.
"The park, right... Like I would believe that! You never go to the park and that's a weak excuse," Jess replied back with a bit of suspicion and a pout on her face.
"Oh, do I not go there? And that is a good excuse," Jade replied back with a smirk on her face.
"Ugh, whatever... And don't try think you can trick me into believing you that you were at the park! You rarely go there, you're always hanging out with big brother John!" Jess replied with a frown on her face.
"I can't deny that, but don't always think I always hang out with John, Jess, I always go out with you. The only reason why I came is because it was on my schedule," Jade replied with deadpan tone.
"tch, schedule this, schedule that, forget about that stupid schedule Jade! Your siblings are more important than doing whatever you do in our home!"
Jade playfully rolled her eyes and grabbed Jess's hand before walking down the side walk, "Your so impatient sister, next time try and be more patient like John, our big brother," she nudges Jess's shoulder, only for Jess to look away and pout.
"tch, be like John, don't try and convince me to be like John, Jade, I will never be like John, he never speaks or anything," Jess said with annoyance in her voice, "And beside! What does he do for a living? Huh?!"
"I can name a lot of things like how he saved you from a Grimm coming from behind, how he found our dog, how he saved us from the burning manor a few years back, how he protected us from our abusive parents and how he found your tie, etcetera, etcetera," Jade explained which shut Jess up.
"W-well," She sighed, "I see your point, John has been protective of us, so yeah, I see your point... But still, you should hang out with me more!"
Jade rolled her eyes and chuckled only to get a playful punch in the shoulder from Jess, "hey, that kinda hurt y'know?"
"Says that one that hit me in the back of my head."
"touché." both of the girls chuckled before continuing to walk to their location, "So, we're we going?" Asked Jess.
"Hmm, do you want to go to err... Uh."
"You have no idea do you?"
"Yes, yes I do not."
Jess rolls her eyes before getting having an idea pop up in her head, "Oh! I got one! We should go to that one place where uh... what do you call it again- Hmm."
While Jess's thoughts wandered, Jade's teachings came to mind, enhancing her ability to keenly observe her surroundings. Lost in her thoughts, Jess's attention was suddenly seized by a fleeting glimpse of an arm being drawn into a nearby alleyway. "Jess," she whispered urgently, "I think I just saw an arm being pulled into that alley."
"An arm? Where?"
As soon as Jess said that, Jade quickly points with her thumb at the alleyway and they saw the glimpse of a hand before it disappears into the alleyway. The two raised their eyebrows before their eyes widen, they quickly glances at each other, "Jade what should we do?"
Jade began thinking about every possible outcome on what they would do, they could go and face whatever is going on or they could just ignore it, "let's check it out."
An unexpected answer but nevertheless, both of the girls began walking towards the alleyway before leaning on the alleyway's wall and what they saw was just a mugging, four humans are mugging a poor Faunus and his friend is knocked out next to him, Jade whispers to Jess, "Jess, what should we do?"
"Jade, do you see that poor Faunus? We can't just stand by while they're getting mugged. We have to help him, sis, it's the right thing to do! Think about what John would do in a situation like this," Jess says with concern in her tone as she furrows her eyebrows.
"He would... Save the person, faunus or human, that is what John will do. Your right Jess, John would definitely step in. Let's do this and help the faunus and that it's the time to show that the bullies that they messed with the wrong sisters!"
Jess and Jade looked at each other before nodding, they stepped out and revealed themselves, two girls with their scarfs down and their white and grey napoleons style trench coats billowing by the wind they stood side by side. Jess speaks up first and says, "Hey, you know what would be really fun? Why don't you four go find someone your own size? Unless, of course, you're all secretly terrified of getting your butts handed to you by two adorable little girls like us. But hey, no judgment here!" Jess says with a bit of playfulness in her tone before giggling and grabbing the attention of the four boys.
The boys looked at each other before chuckling, "Please, don't make us laugh little girls, we got you outnumbered so you might as well leave us alone before we beat you two up as well and let us deal with these Faunus freaks and why don't you two mind your own damn business huh? And why the hell are you two helping these animal freaks?" He said with arrogance and confidence in his voice.
Jess looked at them before raising one of her eyebrows, her expression being unamused by the boy's taunt then she drips her voice into sarcasms and replies back, "Oh, honey, you've got it all wrong. We're not here to make you laugh. We're here to show you what a real beating looks like if you keep running that mouth of yours. And as for helping 'animal freaks,' well, someone's gotta have a heart in this room full of empty heads." She giggles before nudging her sister Jade.
Jade rolls her eyes at the boys and does a dismissive wave at them, before replying back with a tone of sass and amusement, "Outnumbered? Maybe. Outclassed? Definitely. It's cute that you think your numbers matter when you're dealing with us. And as for minding our own business, well, sorry to burst your bubble, but making sure justice prevails is our business. Now, why don't you go back to playing tough and let the adults handle things?"
One of the bullies replied back with a snobby remark, "Oh, you think you're tough, huh? Just a couple of brats trying to play hero?"
Then another one of the bullies replied back with a hint of sarcasm and annoyance in his tone as he crosses his arms, "Yeah, well, we're not scared of some wannabe do-gooders."
Jade and Jess looked at each other before Jade raises her eyebrow and is unimpressed by their insults and how they fail to intimidate them "Oh, please. Wannabe do-gooders? You guys are the ones picking on someone defenseless. Real brave."
Jess chuckles then steps forward, her voice dripping with sarcasm and sass, "And here we thought we'd stumbled upon a pack of tough guys. Guess we were wrong."
The four boys are now frustrated as how they kept failing to intimidate Jade and Jess, one of them clenched their fists and yelled, "Why don't you two brats piss off yeah? Otherwise we might as well beat you up, along with these animal freaks right here!" He forcefully seized the Faunus by the hair, driving him to the ground while the boys around him erupted in laughter. The Faunus looked at them with fear as his eyes widen, he tried crawling away only to be pulled back and kicked in the stomach, he groans in pain which made Jess and Jade looked at each other before looking at the four boys.
"Hey! Back off!" Jess shouted, her voice cutting through the air and grabbing the boys' immediate attention, "Hey, how 'bout this? You let the poor Faunus be, and we'll let you four carry on with whatever you're up to. Sound like a fair trade, or do we need to make sure you get the message loud and clear? Got it?" Jess replied with a hint of seriousness in her voice as she crosses her arms.
The four mugger looked at each other, before laughing at Jess, "oh yeah? What are you going to do little girl? Get your big brother on us?" They laugh harder before one of them did a dismissive wave, "Just leave little girl, this does not concern you and your bratty sister next to you," the four boys laughed before returning their attention to the beaten up faunus. They continued to grab him and push him against the wall, kicking him and punching him, the four boys and laughing before one of them got kicked right in the face and was knocked down, sliding on the dirty concrete floor.
The four boys looked at their friend who is down on the ground, then they looked and Jess who was standing at his place, she smiles mischievously before Jade comes in and punches one of the boys in the face, "Ouch! I might have just broken my fist on that," she winces, flexing her hand, but then chuckles, shaking it off. With a playful grin, she fist-bumps Jess before they stand shoulder to shoulder, back to back, poised to confront the two stunned boys who are still standing there, eyes wide in disbelief then they shook their heads and focus on the two girls.
They were mad and clenched their fist until one of them runs up to Jess only for Jess to side step and tripped the poor man on the ground, Jess giggles mischievously as she trips the man who suddenly gets up and rushed towards her and tries to punch her only for Jess to duck down and was met with Jade's fist, getting knocked to the ground and knocked out, Jade shakes her hand and winces in pain, "Damn! Ouch, my hand, how does John deal with this pain," she said while shaking her hand.
"Oh, come on, Jade, don't play the suck-up card. You practically begged John to give you hand-to-hand combat training, and he agreed. Now you're already complaining? You're a real puzzle, sis," Jess teased, flashing a mischievous grin.
"Sure, sure, Jess. But can we get back to the actual goal here?" Jade retorted, her tone emphasizing determination.
"Yeah, you bet! We've already taken care of three of them, so what's holding us back from handling the other guy—Oh, looks like he's making a run for it," she remarks, her voice laced with a mix of confidence and mild exasperation. Jade and Jess exchange glances and immediately started laughing out loud as they see the fourth boy running away like a scared child who just experienced their first jump scare. As the girls began slowing down their laughter and took a few deep breaths, their immediate eyes glanced at the Faunus who ran towards his friend who was injured and unconscious.
He held onto them, checking their pulses; the reassuring rhythm of their breaths escaping their lips prompted a quick sigh of relief to escape him. He looked at the two girls and thanks them, "Thank you. Oh thank you so much for saving me and my friend, we were just walking and they j-just came at us, we didn't do anything wrong, they grabbed us and pushed us to the ground, t- you have no idea how grateful I am, maybe there could be hope in the future," He said before getting up and hugging the both of them, "Thank you so much friends! Words cannot express how grateful I am! Anyways," he pulled away from the hug and walked back to his friend and lifted them up, "I should go home, the pesky human hospitals won't let me and my friend go there. So, have a good day you two," he says before walking out of the alley with his friends in his arms.
The girls exchanged glances, their smiles reflecting the sense of accomplishment they felt. "Looks like we've made a positive impact literally today," Jess remarked, her voice brimming with satisfaction. She turned to Jade, expecting agreement, but Jade's gaze was fixed on something else entirely. "Jade?" Jess's concern crept into her voice as she followed Jade's line of sight, only to find it locked onto a figure.
It was none other than Ozpin, the enigmatic and time-worn Headmaster of Beacon Academy. His presence held an air of mystique, and he appeared to have noticed the two girls observing him. Casually, he approached them, his steps deliberate and purposeful.
Coming to a halt, Ozpin regarded the pair with a mix of curiosity and interest. His gaze traveled from one to the other, noting their matching attire and likely their bond as sisters. It was evident that they were more than ordinary girls.
Ozpin's eyes twinkled with a knowing glint as he addressed the two girls before him. "Good day, young ladies," he greeted, his voice carrying a warmth that seemed to emanate from years of experience. "It's not every day that I encounter such determined and capable girls I couldn't help but notice your impressive teamwork and dedication on the battlefield." His tone was both approving and inquisitive, inviting them to share their story.
Jade furrowed her brows. "Uh, what's that supposed to mean?"
Jess quickly joined in, her tone skeptical. "Yeah, what's the deal? And why were you watching us, Professor Ozpin?" Suspicion tinged her words, their guard up as they awaited an explanation.
Ozpin offered a reassuring smile, his eyes filled with understanding. "I apologize if my presence seemed intrusive. I assure you, I meant no harm. I have been watching many of potential and worthy people that can join my academy and not just the two of you. It's my duty to ensure the safety and growth of all our students, and sometimes that involves observing their interactions and progress." He paused, his gaze sincere. "Your talents have not gone unnoticed, and I believe you have great potential that could benefit Beacon Academy."
The two girls exchanged glances, their gazes then shifting to Professor Ozpin, their expressions a blend of bewilderment and curiosity. "Wait a moment," Jade spoke up, her voice laced with skepticism, "You're suggesting that both of us should attend your school?"
Ozpin's chuckle was warm and inviting, underscoring his affirmation. "Indeed," he stated firmly, his gaze fixed on them, "I do wish for both of you to join my school."
The two girls looked at each other before nodding and then looking at Ozpin with their smiles, "fine, we accept your offer Professor Ozpin."
Ozpin smiles at them before nodding, "lovely to know, I'll see you at beacon, and don't worry, I met your brother, he's going to arrive at beacon," he smiles again before turning around and walking away, the two girl exchanged a quick glance before running off and leaving the scene.
(BACK TO THE GUY WHO HAS JOHN'S CARD)
The man, who has his three kids is still inspecting the card with curiosity and how he was intrigued by it, his wife noticed it and kept asking what was so interesting about, he used the same excuse, "I just want to learn more about this card," he kept saying that to his wife when she kept asking the same question over and over, his kids are playing in the living room as their mother is in the kitchen cooking something.
While in his room, the father continued his scrutiny of the card, meticulously examining it under the beam of his flashlight. Interrupted by his wife's call announcing that dinner was ready, he let out a resigned sigh and shook his head. Just as he was preparing to rise from his seat, the card unveiled an unexpected surprise—the emergence of two names, one on each side of the enigmatic roses.
"Radiant Joybloom" the white and pink Rose on the right side of the card had the name "Jess Nova"
"Serene Steelrose" The grey and silver rose on the left side of the card had the name "Jade Nova"
His eyes widen at the names being revealed, he grabs his notepad and pencil before he writes down the two names, 'Jade Nova', 'Jess nova' next to his first written name, 'John Nova', he is intrigued and keeps investigating about this phenomenon, he closes his notepad and places his pencil down and flips the card only to show a black, grey and white skull on the middle which was not there before, each color fading into each other making the father more intrigued and wanted to investigate this more.
He puts the card back down and walks out of the room, he closes the door and the room becomes silent and empty then the card begins to show writing on the skull each having revealing one word.
