BNHA: Dual Fates
Chapter 65: Into the Darkness
"Everyone, move- move- move!" Yelled All Might as he gestured towards the main gate of the school and watched a lot of Class A students carry out the ones who were much slower. From his pocket rang his phone and he didn't waste a second to answer it. "Yes?" With each passing student, his hand gave them a gentle push to direct them toward the sidewalk.
"All Might, thank you for helping! We needed a hero to help them and you were the only one available at the moment! It appears Endeavor is busy trying to find Yukimura and the heroes who saved her, strangely there's been a delay of sorts on their way back. I believe it's a Nomu," Explained the Principle rather quickly, some parts of his tone would show his friendliness but would bounce back down to his more serious one.
"No problem! If they're on their way back and Endeavor's looking for them, then most likely Kyoshi is going to try and do something too," It was a given fact that where ever Haru went, Wani and Hitoshi were bound to follow. He had no doubt that they would have trouble with the Nomu when Endeavor and the Crocodile were going to most likely unintentionally team up again.
For a few moments, Nezu caught All Might up on everything that's transpired so far, from what he's learned, even the part about Aizawa calling for aid to evacuate everyone. After the call ended, he continued to push students through the gate with a gentle hand.
Midoriya carried a crippled student from their wheelchair outside and ran as fast as he could past him, through the gate. Next, it was Ochaco with two guys who were given help through the doors and Ida hollered for everyone outside to leave through the gate.
"This way, everyone! Run to All Might and leave the school! This is an emergency evacuation!" To the side of the path that led to the doors, he stood and kept his hands cupped on the sides of his mouth. His eyes watched each passing person and took a mental note of their belongings held tightly against themselves.
Momo had to help a boy whose leg was confined in a cast, so a walking stick was made from her quirk to help him exit the building. "Be careful and don't fall!" Concern for the poor boy filled her mind only for it to be eased when Izuku came back and showed no hesitance to support him.
"Incoming!" Around the corner and over some heads of the students came Asui had her tongue wrapped around three students and leaped high across the crowd's heads, past the gate.
Koji ended up helping the lab animals out by commanding them all to go into their cages outside and would watch Ashido pick a few up at a time to a much safer location. Even Mezou picked several of them up and followed Mina through the gate, just to pass her up when she came back for more cages.
Mineta ended up sticking his quirk on two girls who kept trying to get away from him, resulting in many hysterical slaps to his face. Nonetheless, they were carried off past the gate once Fumikage saw the display, rescuing them from the pervert.
From one of the rooftops can a giant ice slide for students who were at the top of the building and slid down, cheering all the while. Satou and Denki were both gesturing for them to slide down, catching them at the end of it and directing them toward All Might. Kyouka, Mashirao, Yuuga, Hanta, Tooru, and even Bakugo, all did their part to escort the more helpless and slower students.
"Where's Kirishima? Did he not come with us?!" Ashido questioned Ida across from her while she picked up a large cage and was about to head back out of the main gate.
"No, he said he wanted to stay with Uviel and Muni," Answered the class president with each blocky hand gesturing towards the number one pro hero, not once glancing in her direction.
"Alright! At least she's safe!" Rather relieved, Mina smiled and trudged past All Might through the gate.
~~~~Eslewhere~~~~
"How did a Nomu catch up to us?!" Rock Lock held tightly onto Haru and Ryukyu, as they flew over an ocean and towards a coastline near the main city U.A. was close to.
"I don't know! Maybe the League of Villains came prepared for something like this!" Swerving left and right, she avoided long whips from the Nomu who flew not far behind them. Two long and ridged tails that could extend, were used as a bladed whip to try knocking them out of the sky.
"We can't fight that thing in the air! Not like this!" Now just above the coastline, a stream of condensed fire shot out from below. They were lucky when it did because the incoming ridged tail reached after them once more and ended up singed and unusable. The cry of the Nomu echoed before it swerved to the side and flew down where the attack came from, furious now that one of its tails was useless. "It's Endeavor!" Happy to see a familiar face, Ryukyu swooped down towards the coastline and landed on the side of a curved road.
Carefully, Rock Lock picked the brunette up and held onto her bridal style, so Ryu could assist in the fight. However, past her ran Hitoshi who kept his purple eyes upon the snake-girl, no care for the situation shone and stood before Rock for a better view of her condition.
"Why are you here, kid?! You need to get to safety!" Angry, Lock didn't want another child to get in harm's way for he heard crashes far ahead of them and flames in the air.
"I'll explain later! Let's take her somewhere safe, Kyoshi's helping Endeavor!" Quickly answered the boy. He wanted so badly to help since his good friend was kidnapped and felt useless if he didn't.
He saw that in his eyes, determination to be a hero of some kind or to help, it was something he admired in anyone. So, without another moment to spare, he gave the boy a grin and an approving nod. "Man, if you get lost then that's your own problem! Come on!" As he ran to the side he saw Shinso in his peripherals and the focus in them that were dead-set on getting her to safety.
Meanwhile, with Ryukyu, she stood on the sidelines to make sure no vehicles or innocent people came waltzing by to prevent casualties. On Occasion, she'd see the Crocodile and Endeavor practically scissor the Nomu from the front and back.
"Grab him and hold him still!" Endeavor didn't much like the idea that Wani came to steal his spotlight, however, that thought was pushed into the depths of his mind when he knew that a student was in danger; two now, if you count Hitoshi.
"As if you need to ask, Firebeard!" Through a clearly annoyed and growled voice Wani roared back and jumped onto the Nomu's seven-foot frame. Its wings flapped and the last usable tail flailed rapidly to try and pry him off, only to resort to several cuts onto itself thanks to Crock's quirk.
"F- Fire... Beard?" Confused, dumbfounded at the same time that the scaly beast had the audacity to insult him. His ego spiked along with his fire after a scream exploded from his lips. "Fire-beard?! This- coming from a scaled bastard like you!" Spat the flaming hero when he charged a bolt of fire into his hand.
With monstrous strength, the Nomu was flipped into a suplex by Kyoshi and instantly had to get up to avoid the incoming Hero with his spear. He watched Endeavor leap and pierce the Nomu's heart, setting it ablaze by the sheer fire. Its cries and squirms let everyone know of its demise before it turned black and died. "At least I don't have a beard that could get in my face, every time I'd move!" This time both he and Endeavor butted heads, snarling like a couple of hot-headed teenagers from school.
"Are you two done?! We need to head back!" Ryukyu waved goodbye when she directed a passerby car and shot the men a disappointed look after the vehicle turned the corner. "It's already really late and I'm sure there's much more that needs to be done!" With that, she let Rock Lock return to her backside and saw Haru in his arms, along with Hitoshi who gave her a thankful smile.
"Yeah- yeah! Damn heroes are so pushy," Under Wani's breath, he cursed and walked away from the flaming hero, despite what quarrel they had.
~~~~Aizawa~~~~
The door was heavy and made of metal, that they stood in front of. It took them a while to reach the end of the tunnel but they finally made it. "It requires a passcode," Shota quietly spoke to Edgeshot and gave him a stare that only experienced fighters would know, he asked him to open it with a simple nod of his head.
"Right," He didn't waste any time using his quirk, for red streams cut through the hinges of the metallic door and was shot across the floor behind it. The clang it made was loud enough to let anyone inside the room know that they were coming in and when they looked inside, there stood a mysterious shaded figure.
(Play: The Enigma TNG – Catabombs of Paris :D It's his character theme!)
Red cybernetic eyes watched them intently as they pierced through the shadows of the room. The countless monitors behind him only made the atmosphere worse, considering the room itself looked as barren as the lab with its single metal table. Although, they did notice many fat and thin cords wrapped around the devices. Along the floor were fat cables reaching to where Gechi stood and thinner ones coiled around the frames and stands of his monitors. What he stood on, they could hardly guess but it looked like a red colored plastic mat.
Close to his feet sat thick cords that looked as though they were just attached to him, for they all lined up a certain way. "So... You're the one who's been terrorizing my daughter and using her," Tight fists clenched at Kamihara's sides, he knew he had to keep himself calm lest mistakes happen.
"You look kind of familiar, too," Behind his goggles Aizawa spoke, his clenched teeth expressing the unhappiness of the individual. Look at him... He looks like an abomination! Is he even human anymore?! What did he do to himself? His thoughts, full of concern and confusion, echoed as he continued to stare at the cybernetic monstrosity.
"Heeehehehehehehe...~ You can barely recognize me, eh? I'm honestly not surprised! You see- it took decades to look like this. Especially... After my experiments became a success," Even though his voice sounded almost mechanical, it was high-pitched and would deepen depending on his sentences. Nothing, not even a whisper, the two men in the doorway were watching closely for any possible signs of attack. "Oh? Still nothing? OH well, it has been over thirty years now, hasn't it? Or maybe twenty? I lost count living in her all alone.~ But then again, how am I alone when I have so many around me to talk to?" Silence, a nasty grin grew on his lips and showed those sharp teeth that looked as though could they could tear apart pure steel.
"What do you mean? I only see you..." Shota answered then glanced at Shinya with a gesture of his head. A silent conversation was shared between them, for he watched Edgeshot disappear and left them there alone. I hope he finds the strange blip the good hacker pointed out, I can't imagine the destruction it could cause... In his mind, he pondered before his gaze returned to robotic ones in the distance.
"Hahaha! You only... See me?! Look a little closer.~" This time Gechi's voice became a bit deeper and much more grave. With a simple raise of two fingers from both hands, came walking corpses by the twenties moving around him to head towards Aizawa.
"What the hell?!" As fast as he could he jumped back, to avoid a heavy ax thrown in his direction. Nonetheless, the zombies were slow and the cybernetics in their limbs was what kept them from limping.
"Oh no, don't worry. They're just failed experiments! But the horde itself is what you have to worry about the most," As he stood there letting his zombies wander past him, his glowing cybernetic eyes kept staring upon Aizawa. They followed the Teacher's movements like a robot locking onto its target, watching him roll out of the way of an incoming giant mallet.
As soon as Shota skidded to a halt, it was only a matter of seconds when a screech reached his ears and gasoline-coated wires on a female cyberog's arms caught on fire. Horizontally like a saw blade, she came down and nearly singed his hair, if he hadn't leaped back. With a swift spin kick off of the ground, his foot collided with the female's head and sent her harshly into the wall.
Damn! As fast as he could leap, high into the air he avoided yet another strike from another cyborg. However, as soon as he did, a powerful foot connected to the side of his face and sent him across the room with a nasty thud. After he spun around and landed on his feet, Gechi's laughter resonated throughout the room.
"Look at you!" Grinning madly, slouched over with one brow lifted, the infamous hacker cackled at the Teacher's misfortune. "Hahahaha! Did you really think it was going to be easy to take down a cyborg?~ Your quirk is useless here!" Screaming, laughing in his high-pitched and mechanical voice, he ran after the Teacher. The drape over his hips barely covered up his shins as it flailed in the midst of his turn and performed a roundhouse kick.
A painful grunt escaped Aizawa's lips after he felt a harsh sting on one of his forearms, meant to block the said strike. Although he managed to avoid most of the damage, he felt his forearm fracture and the concrete beneath his feet crack.
"I may be a thin body but my cybernetics make up for all of that!" He was quick to jerk forward and use the USB cords on his scalp to latch onto Shota's defensive forearm. It was strange to see him move, so flexible and fast despite the heavy metal in his body. His head whipped Aizawa around with those cords tightly gripped and tossed him towards his monitor's setup in the center.
"Hn!" Even though his arm throbbed he held his own and flipped himself before he'd crash into the monitors, using his good arm to slow his skid to a halt. What is this guy? If I can't use my quirk then I'll have to use my scarf. His swift thinking gave him an edge when he did a curved sprint to avoid a swarm of attacks from the other cyborgs.
The scarf around his neck extended towards Gechi once he jumped onto the frame that held all of the monitors and crouched. As soon as the scarf latched onto the villain's foot and knocked him over, he lunged at him with a fist ready.
Although the idea was valid, Gechi had other plans. When he kicked his feet up and flipped backward to a stand the scarf yanked forward. "Hehehehe!" Twice, he spun in place, to reel in the Teacher faster and leaped into the air with a dropkick onto the man's head. It was heavy enough to make the concrete crack and Shota bounced up an inch, landing on his stomach. "What's the matter? You look like you could use some help! After all, even the most useless quirks can be useful, combined with the right cybernetics! You could be a quirk-killer! You have so much potential!" From his kicked-up foot, he sent Shota into the air, and halfway he was punched hard enough to be sent flying into the wall nearby.
Grunts and pained sounds escaped his lips upon both hits, however, when he was about to lodge himself out of the small hole, he gasped when Goro bent his arm up. From where the elbow connected to the forearm, a hole opened and countless bicep-length needles shot out and pinned him. "Oh, Aizawa... What makes you think you can take me? You're clearly not meant for this match-up. Why do you keep fighting when you know it's pointless?" Effortlessly his arm reverted back and flexed to readjust himself, not once did his menacing grin falter.
"B- Because..." Shota began with blood trickling from his lips and nose. The reaction from Gechi was satisfying when he smiled and gave him the best confident expression he could muster. "No matter how strong or weak the opponent is, the fact is- I just need to do my best. Besides... You're forgetting someone, aren't you?" Questioned the man clad in black and observed an odd reaction from the cyborg.
"No of course not! Actually, do me a favor and stay there for a bit, hang around, while I take care of a certain ninja.~" Casually he walked away, not paying the Teacher any mind on his way to the back past his monitor's setup. All of his zombies practically swarmed him from below and watched him as if he was a piece of meat about to be served.
~~~
Edgeshot stood before something giant, something he could hardly recognize considering how dark it was in the incredibly sized room. What is this thing? His thoughts echoed and lifted his hand to tap the back of his index finger at it. The sound of clanging metal resonated from his actions, resulting in confusion on his face. Oh- right, I'm glad I still have these on me. I wonder why they're still with me... Pondering for a moment, against his backside and beneath his costume an unlit glow stick was pulled out. With a quick snap, a small blue light exposed what he thought was going to be a bomb... But what he wasn't expecting, was to see a giant blood-painted smile and unlit robotic slits just above it. Taken aback, his gray eyes lit up with bewilderment, and was at a loss for words.
Never in his life had he seen something so insane, so crazy before. It wasn't any ordinary blood-painted smile, it had clamped teeth painted as well and an open grin as wide as Goroganda's. There were even some spots where the blood had dried while it was trickling down. "Bad little Ninjas shouldn't be sneaking around, in a lab full of dark secrets.~" Those words came from behind him and he immediately vanished, appearing atop the frame of the many monitors crouched.
"Why are you doing all of this?!" Edgeshot wanted his side of the story, despite how evil and corrupt he seemed. A better understanding of the situation always helps figure out what's wrong.
"You truly don't know?! Hahaha! I see... Where to begin?" Gechi recalled that conversation with Uviel before they fought and chose to avoid the topic, instead bringing up his true intention for his cybernetics. "Look around you, Edgeshot! Every failed experiment, every subject, was quirkless or had a useless quirk! So- why would I use those kinds of people to experiment on and transform into cyborgs?!" Outstretched, his arms moved and made gestures with his fingers to control many speedy cyborgs to stand by him.
"Because they were easier targets, I'm assuming!" With his sheer speed, he vanished to avoid countless explosive bullets that just barely missed Gechi's many monitors.
"No! Not at all! You're wrong... It's because... The majority of society has quirks and the potential to become heroes! Whereas those who don't possess such power... Are left to rot and be bullied by others. So why do you think I chose to make cyborgs?! To give the quirkless a fighting chance! To give the quirkless power they can call their own and be able to become a hero if they so chose! Why is it so wrong to achieve that dream?! Cybernetics can be... Devastating.~" When Gechi finished his explanation, his head lowered the moment his voice grew deeper and gravely upon the last word.
"So this is why U.A. kicked you out? Perhaps if your methods of reaching for this dream of yours weren't so gruesome or risks the lives you experiment on, they would've accepted it!" Angry now, the use of his quirk sent him through countless cyborgs at blinding speed, ripping apart each one to get back to Goroganda.
"No... No, no, no! They would never accept it! Why would they ever want to support the quirkless, if that's where they get all of their money from?! The helpless, the weak, the defenseless, they all have to rely on being saved by heroes and heroes rescue as many of those people as they can for money!" Through gritted sharp teeth Goro screamed and spun in place to avoid a sharp pierce from Edgeshot. "Hehehehe... Don't forget... I'm a Cyborg, I can lock onto anything regardless of how fast a person moves!" Just when he was about to whip his USB cords from his head, at the ninja, Edgeshot timed it perfectly and wrapped his quirk around him.
"Don't move! Otherwise, there will be consequences!" Warning him, hating him, wanting him to submit and make up for all of the wrongdoings he's done, Shinya's tight grip kept Gechi as still as a statue.
Although only one of his hands was free, which Kamihara saw too late, for he heard the insane cackles from his mechanical voice and saw those glowing fingers twitch. "Behold... My Microbots.~" It was about as fast as he spoke, behind him came a literal swarm of flying silver pieces of dust.
Shinya had to release him and race far away to avoid getting caught in the wave of tiny bots, which seemed to engulf the Cyborg. What?! Are those the Microbots I heard about from Miss Muni? Quickly he ran back to where Aizawa was and saw him high up in a hole, pinned by lengthy needles.
He had to act fast, disappearing and reappearing with streams of red piercing the wall around Shota, he began to yank out one needle at a time. "Are you alright? We have to hurry," Shinya did his best to remain calm in the black room and finally pulled out the last one, before assisting the Teacher out of the hole.
"No kidding... This guy was prepared. He must have expected this outcome, after all- he was once considered a genius... I barely remember him but he used to be a part of Hero Support in U.A. and invented gadgets. Pro heroes often came to him for that very reason, until he started to dive into cybernetics. That's about all I remember," One eye was closed from the pain in his limbs and the movement he went through thanks to Edgeshot. They both stood there watching as the horde of zombies or... cyborgs came closer by the minute, along with Gechi in front of them all. The swarm of microbots seemed to be gone, most likely because Goro dismissed them.
"You two are pros, aren't you?!~ Why aren't you fighting me with all of your might?! Where's your Plus Ultra?!" The moment Goroganda charged after the two, he saw Edgeshot prepare his quirk as he kept Shota in one arm and was about to strike when...
"Right here, you bastard!" All heads turned to see a dark redheaded boy, clad in his costume and hardened skin. It was as if time stood still, for both of the heroes were taken aback by his sudden appearance and Goro was caught off guard. With a sickening punch hard enough to dent metal, came a hardened fist square to Gechi's jaw. The power behind it made him fly across the room and crash into the wall far from him.
"Kirishima, you were supposed to stay and help out! Why are you here?!" Aizawa was furious, he truly thought that the boy was going to stay out of this. To know he didn't listen and left Uviel in a risky situation, being alone with Tali whom he didn't trust, caused the man to snap.
"I'll have to explain quickly! Miss Muni told me that Uviel would've appreciated it if I helped you guys out! Then when Uviel told me herself after I spoke to her about it, she even agreed. She stated that I was able to hold her off many times and handle her heavy strikes, so she asked me to do her this favor!" He did the best he could to inform them whilst blocking relentless strikes of a zombie's mallet and caught it before it hit his face. With ease he jerked the mallet from their hands and used it to bash the zombie's head in, causing it to lifelessly fall.
"I guess, while you're here you can be of some help! Hold him off if you can, I need to see if there's a way to disarm what I saw back there! It looked like a robot of sorts!" In a rush, he held onto Aizawa and carried him across the incredibly sized dark room past the many monitors.
"Alright, on it!" Without hesitance, Kirishima nodded and beefed up his quirk more. He was lucky he did, for Goroganda came in pretty fast with a whirling kick, crashing into his forearms.
"Such a strong boy, aren't you?!" Again and again, with the flexibility of a cat almost, he twisted himself around to whip his legs out. "Your quirk would be a perfect combination for my energy armor cybernetics and forearm blades!" Countless times he nailed at Kirishima's hardened arms, which caused the boy to wince nearly every time.
"I don't want anything you have to offer! You're a sick freak who has hurt Uviel and so many others! You've killed a ton of innocent people!" This time it was his turn to retaliate, for he found a moment to strike and brought up his fist to do an uppercut.
Although effective, it wasn't enough to make the sensors in Goro malfunction. The said cyborg performed a swift backflip and lowered himself, to knock the boy over with his feet. "Hahaha, it looks like things are going to be dicey.~ I'll have to use my masterpiece after all and it's best I do this now... Then to wait," It only took a second, and when his fingers lifted he saw Kiri' fist fly toward him, causing a metallic clang to echo when it connected.
He saw it, a dent in the metal plating above his mouth when he watched Gechi fly back and land on his backside, close to the fat cords on the ground; no movement came from the infamous hacker. The fury on the boy's face proved how much he wanted to tear him apart for causing such trauma to his girlfriend.
Slowly, cautiously, he walked closer and prepared hardened fists so he could pulverize the monstrosity's face. However, he gasped and jumped back when a sudden but small quake underneath the cyborg's back occurred, causing the six-foot and five-inch man to jolt up instantly into a stand. There was no kick of his feet to get into a position, no sitting up, it was almost like how a vampire in the old stories would wake from their coffins and stand up as stiff as a board.
"So ignorant, aren't you? Now... It's my turn," Dangerous, his voice growled through his sharp toothy grin and lowered his head. Those fat cords hovered above the ground and gave no hesitation to latch onto his backside.
"What the hell?!" Swore the darker redhead and watched Gechi float into the air for a mere moment, before getting jerked into the black abyss far behind the monitors. "Mr. Aizawa! Edgeshot! Look out!" He ran as fast as he could in their direction, just to end up catching them both when a large gust of wind pushed them back. "AH!" Harshly they all landed, it took them a minute to realize that the entire room was shaking as though an earthquake had hit.
"Edgeshot, get us out of here- quick!" Aizawa demanded and helped Kiri up, it wasn't long until the pro ninja did as he was told. Soon all three of them disappeared and the entire room began to crumble from the ceiling.
All of the zombies, the failed experiments, were crushed by the chunks that fell. Even the monitors and their large supportive metallic frame had bent inward from the countless debris that descended from the ceiling. Although, among the quakes and through the room where not a single dim light would show, appeared some creepy yellow slits that pierced through the darkness.
