An Alternate Reality

Reality…

It's more than a linear path. It's a prism of endless possibility, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the ones you know.

In your reality, a fanfiction author known as Flower Princess11 created various works for the Nickelodeon cartoon Danny Phantom. And in December of 2018, she created a crossover that would be the story that would without question be her most famous work that has spread throughout various other franchises, the Many Dates of Danny Fenton.

But in another… she would have chosen not to go through with it… but someone else did. Someone she spoke to regarding her idea… and did the story in her place.

So follow me… as we ponder the question.

I told you not to call me when I'm doing- wait… I'm not allowed to finish the opening bit? … But this is fanfiction, that should count as fair use or even parody, right? … It's too close to the real thing to be fair use… it's not funny enough to count as parody? … so, that youtuber Thorgi did this same gag too? … ah, I see. Thanks for the heads up.

So… let's start the story while my lawyer tries to figure out how much money I owe Disney.

Somewhere, away from places like Amity Park, Middleton, Bellwood, Juuban, Jump City, New York, Metroville, Gotham City and Metropolis, one person was taking his day off.

So tired… glad I finally took a break. He thought as he sipped his drink.

"Weird that you're typing your own thoughts, isn't it?"

He spat his cola out, realizing who it was that just spoke to him in the middle of his office.

"Deadpool?!" NeoMark shouted.

"Sup you… and the other you." Deadpool said.

"For the last time, stop acknowledging the author when you're talking to me!""

"My bad… so… what's going on in your neck of the woods?" Deadpool asks.

"Was taking time off, that's what!" NeoMark snapped.

"Oh, my bad… yeah… it certainly is hard to manage 5 out of 30 girls in alternate timelines, eh? Like you've been doing it everyday… huh?" Deadpool went, clearly taking a jab at him.

"Okay… I get it… but I've been busy with things outside of this service." NeoMark said.

"So busy that you won't-"

"For the last time… I'm not doing a story about you dating 30 women associated with his dates…"

"Darn…" Deadpool went before looking at the list of the girls Danny has gone out with. "So… you cool with the 5?"

"Well, yeah…"

"Anyone you wish you could do?" Deadpool asks.

"Well… I did consider Jen, Violet and Wendy… but people beat me to them. I'm cool with the 5 I got and I can't wait to see what comes next for the other 4."

"Huh… any girls you wish were on the list?" Deadpool asks.

"Maybe… but it's been… wow, 5 years since then." NeoMark said in realization.

"Ah… well…" Deadpool held out the continuity gem. "Care to spend your day off seeing who else could've been in there?"

NeoMark raised an eyebrow.

"You're serious? You want me to go behind FP's back to do this?"

"I actually got her permission." Deadpool said, holding a paper up.

NeoMark raised an eyebrow, taking the page and reading it.

"I, Flower Princess11, hereby agree to allow this new Many Dates side story to take place, in exchange for Deadpool to stop interfering with important SERIOUS scenes in my fics AND to stop stealing our donuts from the cafeteria, ESPECIALLY the ones that are in the containers that have our names on them!" - Flower Princess11.

"Wow… she actually said yes." NeoMark said in surprise.

"And I got the perfect way to show this altered world…" Deadpool held out the continuity gem.

"I still have no idea how to actually see this happening." NeoMark pointed out.

"Ah! That's why I have this!" Deadpool said as he pulled something out of his pocket.

It was a monitor of some kind that NeoMark found familiar.

"Isn't that… one of Clockwork's monitors?" He asks.

"He won't miss it… this should be a short enough story." Deadpool said with a dismissive hand wave. "Now… since it's you doing this… you use the gem." Deadpool insisted, giving him the continuity gem.

As NeoMark held it, he almost snapped his finger when he stopped.

"Wait… I just realized… if we do this… we're reopening the floodgates… people are gonna wanna see their choices."

"And it's been a while since 2018… and there's been a lot of new stuff and characters since. So… be prepared!" Deadpool said.

"Wait… before I do this… I want to establish some ground rules. Can I establish ground rules?" NeoMark asks.

"What kind?" Deadpool asks.

"I'm probably gonna get people going stuff like "Yeah! Let's get Mina Ashido! Or a Power Ranger! Or someone from Dawn from Pokemon!" or something. So… I don't think we can add everyone people want." NeoMark said.

"Okay… what ground rules do you have in mind?" Deadpool asks.

"So… One: They have to be straight teenage girls, 17 at max. Kind of obvious, admittedly but this is to prevent people from suggesting Shego or Cinder Fall." NeoMark said.

"Fair… the age rating would not work with them." Deadpool states.

"Two: Their existence has to make sense for the world Danny lives in. To better explain this, he doesn't live in a fantasy world of bending, or semblances, nor are superhuman abilities the norm. In other words, characters like Yang Xiao Long and Mina Ashido aren't making it in unless they can travel to other worlds."

"Uh… Yang did travel to another world…" Deadpool pointed out.

"Oh… Never mind, that's a bad example. Three: I am open to more anime characters… But to be included on this list, their show needed to have an English dub, or at least they need to have an English voice."

"You do speak so few languages." Deadpool said.

"Four: I want this to be using characters from animated media. So, no characters of live action origin."

"Oh… that sounds like no Rangers then." Deadpool said.

"Five: For a character that did not originate in animated media, we will use a pre-existing adaptation. We will not create completely new versions for characters. Also, I am all for characters in the same universe, but we won't use separate adaptations of the same source material. In other words, I can't use a character from Teen Titans and a character from Young Justice because those are two different DC adaptations."

"Gotcha… but I'm not a date so I'm safe!" Deadpool said happily.

"Six: We will use characters who have plenty of screen time so we have a good understanding of their character, and where the story is taking them."

"Eh?" Deadpool asks.

"For example, if it's a movie character, they need to have been at least in a second movie. It's a television character, that show needed to have had at least two seasons, and the character needed to have appeared, and at least half the amount of episodes the two seasons made up."

"So, in other words, they'd need more than one movie or two episodes, right?" Deadpool asks.

"Right. Seven: Final and most important. This would be an AU to Many Dates. Meaning it would have taken place from December 2018 to April 2019. In other words, we cannot pick characters whose shows either did not exist, or had their second season end before then. For example, Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia. Love her… but Amphibia didn't debut until 2019, so she'll be unable to make it."

"So, 30 new girls, right?" Deadpool asks.

"Actually, I'm keeping 10… but 20 will not make it. That said, there will be 5 girls from the same shows replacing their friends." NeoMark said.

"Ooh… sounds complicated… let's do it!" Deadpool said.

"Well… here we go…" NeoMark said as he snapped his finger.

The monitor then turned on.

There, they saw Danny leaving the mall with Tucker.

"Alright, a ton of dates will be rolling in and we don't have to do anything but wait." Tucker said in excitement.

Danny rolled his eyes, wondering if there is still a chance to undo any of this.

That's when something similar to a ripple occurred, causing Danny to pause in his tracks. Looking around, he was baffled at how he felt something was different, but couldn't understand what.

"Did you…?" He asked.

"Did I what?" Tucker asks.

"I don't know… I wouldn't say see or hear but… maybe felt it?" Danny asks.

"What do you mean? Did your ghost sense go off?" Tucker asks.

"No, I… I don't know… I guess I'm being paranoid…" Danny said as the two resumed their walk home.

So, you might be wondering what they heck this is. The answer is that it's going to be be 5 year anniversary of The Many Dates of Danny Fenton. So, while I will work on my spin-offs, I had an idea... which I got from watching Thorgi's Sega Smash Ultimate video on an alternate timelin where Masahiro Sakurai made Smash for Sega instead of Nintendo.

And yes, that's why I got the same gag about getting sued by Disney.

I asked for her permission before I did this.

I have established the rules in the story... please read the part where my in-universe self made the rules. You might ask "why are you installing rules outside of just age range?"

Part of it is because I wanted to challenge myself, but also because I want to narrow down to characters from a wide variety of different series. However, there is one more important thing I need to clarify.

We will NOT be doing spin-offs with the new girls. This is just a peek into an alternate timeline and nothing more.
