Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Sly Cooper. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Sly Cooper; Naughty Dog and a few others do.
To the criminal underworld? The name 'Cooper' was a big deal… Though nobody knew much about the fact that the Cooper line was almost made into nothing, its members scattered to the wind by Clockwerk.
One said member swung around, landing on a lamppost as a wanted poster flew by. The Cooper slowly stood up, curious as to what the poster was. He had come to Italy to take advantage of the local crime ring. He knew that the criminals would fail, however. Still? They would give him time to make sure to try and steal the Jewel of Jaunts. He had been scoping out the city the entire city.
The cooper started to think about what was going to happen next. He spun his cane around his fingers, curious as to what was happen as he started to scamper over the building, digging the cane into cracks to pull himself towards the roof.
"Hmm." He said as he spun his cane while he looked down upon on the city. "The Don is pretty blasted stupid, then again? So are the cops chasing him if they got caught off guard this easily when their supposed to be super skilled… Maybe their budget went into more fancy toys rather than training." He stated, resting his cane across his shoulders and taking a second to adjust his hat which had shifted from the wind.
In the dull moonlight? One could only slightly make out the purplish red jacket which the raccoon, the small backpack which kept his cane across it as well. This was Ray, one of the few active coopers still in the clan. He shrugged off the heat from below, balancing on a chimney as he looked upon the buildings, all ripe for plunder.
Still? He didn't know something was coming, mind reading wasn't one of Ray talents. He leapt off the building, using his cane to latch onto a sign and throwing him into a roll atop another building, sliding the cane back into its sheathe as he walked.
"Sometimes I wonder how there's so little security in a world full of thieves." Ray muttered, dusting off his jacket as he turned and fell off the building.
He felt the hook of his cane catch on a ledge, allowing Ray to turn, falling into a crouch as he slowly hummed, curious as to what this city was like. He leaned on a street post, allowing a group of police past him, he knew something was wrong at this moment, but he couldn't place a finger on WHAT it was or who.
He rubbed at his eyes, this much travel starting to exhaust him more than possible. Still? There was PLENTY of work left for his plan to be done, curious as he started to think of how to get on with his strategy.
"The cops haven't been moving away from the museum, maybe if I mix things up?" Ray questioned, raising an eyebrow as he thought about the idea.
Yes, there was merit to that idea. Ray knew that if the police went more after the rest of the criminals? It would draw them away from the exhibit, that made it easier to get inside and work his magic.
"But how is the best way to trick a bunch of guards into leaving their posts to chase after thugs?" Ray asked, rubbing at his chin as he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "Hmm, maybe I can lure them into chasing after me? Their all come running if they know the same person who stole the 'Emerald of Eris' was here." Ray stated to himself as he shook his head, knowing this was an almost impossible task when it comes down to it.
No self-respecting thief would just let himself get caught by the cops when he thought about it when it came down to it. He knew for a fact that this task was going to point him into a war.
"Oy…" Ray stated, cracking a smile as he leaned on the lamppost next to him, rubbing at his eyes as he let out a yawn and then looked down at the city.
Ray looked up at the sky, unaware of the adventure soon to come.
