Hey Yo! I'm back this week for chaper 24 of The Last Loud!

Last chapter Leni met her ending when she sacrificed herself to make sure the rest of the crew could escape from a horde of giant spiders! But Lori got hurt in the process! let's see what happens next, both in the past and in the future!

As I write the introduction of this chapter, I didn't received any questions, so let's get to the chapter!

"And this is my workshop, slash laboratory, slash bedroom." Link presented as they entered the enormous room, it was filled with old, probably repurposed tables, cabinets, dressers, drawers, all full of scrap parts of old electronics, vehicles, most dismantled, but one was a bike, equiped with a little engine, and even a Chuck E. Cheese animatronic.

Not to count the weird stuff that Link had put together himself. Haphazardly put together gizmos, that were barely safe just existing, funny looking tools that looked extremely inefficient, if not useless, wearing gears that no one would ever agree to wear, and surprisingly, Just a few things that looked like weapons.

Well, some of those things may be considered a weapon just by existing, but just a few that looked like it were intended to be a weapon.

As the trio looked around the workshop, Link sat down on a table, put his goggles on and started welding a cable into a chip, in front of him, laid what looked like a gun with a lightbulb in the place of the barrel.

"What's this?" Cassie asked, pointing to something.

"It's a waffle iron." Link responded, without taking his eyes from his work.

"And this?" she pointed to other thing.

"That's a piece of a transformer." He spoke. Maria chuckled and hummed robots in disguise.

"And this?" Cassie asked, picking the little tool from Link's table.

"That." He picked the tool from her. "It's a screwdriver." He completed with a little smile.

"All this stuff is, like, so cool!" Cassie spoke looking around again. "What are you working on?"

"I've been working on what comic books and low budget 60s movies made popular." He grabbed the weird gun and connected the chip in the back and the cable on the base of the barrel. "A laser gun!" He spoke with proudness, holding the gun. "Step aside!" He asked Cassie infectively, pointing the gun to a metal plate, with a target painted on, the plate had scorch marks.

The theatricality of Link caught the attention of Loud and Maria, who looked at them and to the target.

" I hope it doesn't exploded. Again." Link muttered, pressing the trigger. The lightbulb started to shine a very bright neon green, making a charge sound, and with a loud bang. The lightbulb exploded, launching Link backwards, who feel, sitting on the ground. Maria, Loud and Cassie were dumbfounded. "Well." Link spoke, getting his goggles off, his face was covered in ashes, with circular clean spots around the eyes doe his goggles. "At least just the light diffraction exploded this time." He lifted the rests of the gun, and just the barrel was missing

"Are you alright?" Cassie asked concerned, approaching him. Link got up again, rubbing his coccyx.

"I'm fine, I'm used to this actually." He spoke putting the gum back on the table. "It almost works." He spoke, pointing to the gun. "But I need to work with the energy core."

"Energy core?" Maria asked, as she and Loud approached.

"I can't find a efficient way generate sufficient energy that can supply the core."

"You need a auto regenerating power core." Loud concluded.

"Exactly!" Link spoke. "But not even the energy the dam generates is enough. " He sighed in frustration. "I suggested making a micro nuclear reactor, but the others prohibited me." He rolled his eyes. "Come on, I just want to do a simple nuclear fusion in my lab, is this too much to ask?"

"Oh, Yeah." Cassie and Maria spoke immediately, even Loud nodded, agreeing with them.

"Why wouldn't you use the micro crystal core to reroute the energy in a circular coil.?" Loud suggested. "The circular motion will keep the energy from escaping."

"That's…" Link lifted a finger, than twisted around. "Actually a clever idea, I'll be testing right away!" He spoke, jumping back on his chair and beginning the work.

"Hey Lincoln." Maria asked, looking at one thing they didn't noticed before.

"What?" He asked back.

"What's this thing?" She pointed to the enormous thing, covered in a tarp.

"That's another project I'm working on. I'm actually having the same problem as the laser gun, but with the suggestion Loud gave, I may be able to finish them." He spoke. "Oh, this remembers me." He looked back at the trio. "We… are planning to end not only the Slavers, but the entire Renaissance Cult once and for all… we're… Kinda planning this for years, and we thought that it would took even more years until we're able to, but with you here… well…"

"You are planning to end the Slavers?" Cassie asked excited. "That's so cool!"

"It would… be a blessing for the whole united states… world. I don't know how the rest of the world is to be honest."

"I want to hear." Loud spoke up. Louder than usual, what caught Cassie and Maria off guard. "But from all of you."

"I can't believe! I can't believe!" Lincoln spoke angrily, hitting the wheel of the car, they were driving for hours, the sun had came out already. He was crying. Leni had died just some hour ago and Lori was very injured.

Her bitten leg was swollen, and although our tries to suppress the venom, the damage was still very bad. Lori was sweating a lot, she actually was having a fever, Luna was rubbing a wet cloth on her forehead and my twin was rubbing the excess sweat off Lori.

"Lola, can you pass me water bottle?" Luna asked me, I handed over the cold bottle of water.

Normally, I would complain that Luna was wasting our water, but Lori's condition wasn't getting any better. I looked over to Lincoln. He was still sobbing. We were searching for a pharmacy, or a hospital, or something.

Lori was dying, and any delay could mean the death of yet another one of us. I sighed at the thought. Leni had died. I felt bad with every one of my sisters that died, but… Leni hit it deeper for some reason. I hate feeling this way. I hate showing those feelings.

But I just can't help myself. This is all so unfair. Why all this happened? If I ever find the one who allowed a nuke being dropped on my city, I'll make them know who Lola Loud is.

I got off my thoughts when the jeep stopped. I looked outside and couldn't believe what I saw.

It was a village! A real village! With tents, huts, animals and I could see a farm! It's a miracle! A real miracle had happened to us for once! Some of the people of the village looked at us.

Luna, Lana and I got Lori out the jeep as gently as we could, Lincoln also got off the jeep.

"Get help! We need help!" Luna shouted. "Our sister! She needs medical attention!" Some of the villagers rushed up to us and helped Lori with a cloth stretcher.

"Don't worry. We'll take her to our medical tent." One woman assured us.

"Wait…" Lori asked, extending her arm to Lincoln. He walked up and grabbed her hand.

"Don't worry Lori… You're gonna be fine." He spoke softly, and kissed her forehead.

As the three villagers took Lori, I saw Lincoln gulping some of his pills, and a blonde man, with a blue turtleneck approached us with a bright smile.

"Now that your sister is on our care, welcome!" He spoke with a smile.

"Welcome, to Paradise!"

N/A: And we end this chapter with the Loud finding a village of survivors in the middle of the wastelands!

Lori is on the care of their doctors and hopefully will be good soon!

On the future section, we see Link's workshop, I tried to describe it the best way I could and make it close to what I had in mind, and we also see aittle bit of foreshadowing ;)
