Chapter Four

Diplomacy

King Asgore… The ancient King of the mountain, a monster of prestige and of brutality. These words did not fit the current Asgore, years of guilt, anger, and now total peaceful isolation, had given the mountain king new life. Nowadays the monster spends his days in solitude, watering his plants and caring for the local wildlife. For him, his ruling days were over, but he did keep his royal attire for situations of public appearance. As the king hummed to himself, an armored vehicle could be seen down the driveway, its turret turned backwards. This was Ebotian military language, if a vehicle's turret was turned the opposite way, it meant ceasefire, or good tidings. The scruffy goat monster halted, concerned. Normal vehicles rarely even drove by, but a military one? The tank parked as neatly as possible, a group of soldiers followed by Commander Bulch unloaded. "Greetings Sir Asgore, I bring you news from the recent portal experiments!" Bulch exclaimed, "Oh? Do tell, was it successful?" Asgore asked, "You could say that, in fact, we have discovered a new land!" Bulch said, "What…? A new land? What do you mean?" Asgore asked, putting down his watering bucket.

"During the experiment, Frisk was teleported to another place, another underground if you will…" Bulch explained, "I say teleport… But really they just passed a barrier unseen to us…" Bulch explained. Asgore took a deep breath, "Are they alright?" Asgore asked, "By all means, completely fine, in fact. The place they were transported to was not of any threat, or so the team claimed…" Bulch said, "I see, so you're telling me another magical barrier exists?" Asgore asked, "Correct, which brings me to why I came here… A person, a woman, from the nation has asked for your presence," Bulch said, "M-My presence? Why?" Asgore asked, "To meet with you sir Asgore, to simply speak about each other, I assume this lady's people have been rather lonely…" Bulch said, "Hold on, h-how is this possible, the human's didn't create another barrier, did they?" Asgore asked, "If I'm being honest sir, I don't know, the magical powers of the old ones far surpassed ours. I don't doubt that they found another group of monsters and locked them up as well…" Bulch said, "So what now?" Asgore asked, "We'll, we'll meet them, preferably soon…" Bulch said.

Asgore sighed, patting Bulch's shoulder before walking back into his house, as Asgore entered his house, an Ebotian soldier walked up to Bulch, "Commander, why did you inform him so suddenly? This isn't part of the plan…" The soldier said, "I'm the commander now Noose, you take orders from me now… I don't care what Zero told you before the civil war, you work for me!" Bulch proclaimed, "As you command sir," Noose replied, putting back on his helmet, walking away. Just then, Asgore returned, his royal robes and gold armor on his person. In his hands was his red trident, its glow faded due to age. Finally, his crown… From the very dawn of the tale, he carried around the same crown as his father and his father's father did. "I'm ready… So is this place truly safe? I mean, this all happened so suddenly," Asgore asked. "Well we can't say for sure, Sans went with the team, he noted that besides from a larger use of magic. The place was almost oddly nice, so take that as you wish King Asgore," Bulch said.

"Don't stress it too much, I stopped being king a long time ago, but if our new Neighbors insist, I will be happy to oblige. I must say, I'm a little excited, to think another colony of monsters exists," Asgore said. "Of course, just get inside this APC here and we'll gladly take you to the portal," Bulch said. The APC was just large enough to fit Asgore, Ebot's army not really taking into account monster sizes. Bulch's soldier nodded, handing Asgore a small object, "What's this?" Asgore asked, "Nothing special, just something we have in the army, a tracker of sorts. We don't want the king of monsters going missing after teleportation, do we?" The soldier asked, "I guess not…" After a fairly long trip, the APC arrived at the Aboveground research complex, Frisk, Sans, Papyrus and Alphys crowding around the portal alongside other Ebottian representatives readying for teleportation. "Ah! Sir Asgore!" Alphys exclaimed, clammy with anxiety, "Greetings you all, it has been far too long… Human, Sans, I've heard much about you. I was graciously informed by our good friend Commander Bulch, that I was summoned by a specific person," Asgore said.

"R-Right, one, two, three, four- I think that will be alright, I mean we've already teleported multiple people before so… Y-You all may step into the circle a-and I will begin the countdown…" Alphys said Asgore was escorted by Bulch to the portal, the skeletons waiting for them. "I-I will make sure that this will not fail! I-I promise your majesty!" Alphys proclaimed, "No worries, I mean, Frisk and Sans made it back fine did they not?" Asgore asked, the portal itself was a mess of wires and magical crystals, ancient artifacts from the old era of Ebot. The portal was marked by a round, clear, circular plate of sorts, tinted a rich purple. A metal ring surrounded the plate, where all the wires connected. Finally, seven pillars surrounded the portal, containing the sealed crystals, which all began to glow as they stepped in. "A-Alright… I will begin the countdown, ok?" Alphys said, Sans raised a thumbs up, Alphys began to count down from ten, immediately the now glowing crystals began to rotate and spin, going faster with each number. Flashes of light emitted from below them, frightening Asgore a little, the crystals finally pointing down to where they were standing. "One…" Alphys uttered, with that final number, the crystals all let out a multicolored beam, almost like lightning, in an instant. They were gone.

Gensokyo, a land of fantasy, much like their own… So similar, yet so different. They teleported into the same field of wheat as before. Asgore was knocked to his feet from the sudden flash, rubbing his eyes, "Oh my… That was something, is everyone alright?" Asgore asked, "Yeah… Though I think Bulch is a little worse for wear," Sans said, Bulch was on the ground, coughing. "I-I'm fine… Just a little surprised, that's all…" Bulch said, "Naw it's fine, it happens to the best of us," Sans said, "It sure does…" Bulch said. "Brother! Once more we have arrived!" Papyrus said, "Yeah, I'm surprised there wasn't a malfunction, considering this was just a prototype." Sans said, the five left the field, walking into the human village, to their surprise, the humans in the village were nowhere to be seen. As they walked down the empty street, they noticed several figures approaching, Yukari in the middle of them. Both sides walked towards each other, Sans, Frisk, Papyrus, Bulch and Asgore. Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, Alice, and Yukari.

Humans in the village began to emerge, looking out of windows and alleyways. Frisk alongside Asgore came up to the five Gensokyians, Yukari stopping in front of them, extending her hand. "Welcome to Gensokyo, my name is Yukari Yakumo, these are my allies… I'm glad we are able to meet on this fine day, may I have your name?" Yukari asked, "Asgore Dreemur, I am, er… Was, the King of the Underground, I am most glad to meet you as well," Asgore said, Yukari nodding. "I must admit, I never thought I'd see the day where another tribe of Monsters would arise! Er- You are a monster, right?" Asgore asked, "I am a sage, a Youkai, but yes, I am what you would call a… Monster," Yukari said, her allies not saying a word. "Reimu, and Marisa are both humans, but we're still kind of unsure about Sakuya over there…" Yukari admitted, "Reimu," Yukari said, Reimu walking up to Frisk.

"I'm sorry we got on the wrong track during your first visit, I apologize profusely, Frisk placed a hand on Reimu's head, giving her peace of mind. Marisa walked up to, "Yeah, no harm done! Just don't get outside that often you know," Marisa said, Asgore looked around, "This place seems rather nice, just like the reports… Say, did the humans lock you up as well?" Asgore asked, "Lock us up?" Yukari asked, "You know, the magical barrier!" Asgore said, "Ah, you mean the Great Hakurei Barrier, technically, you see, this barrier protects our world, sealing it from the outside world, your world…" Yukari said, "Actually, it's less of a protection, more like a cloak, but it definitely has its weight," Yukari said. "I see, so the human's didn't seal you away after the war?" Asgore asked, "You mean the human-monster war? No, no, we are our own 'tribe' of monsters King Asgore. We are monsters who humanity no longer believes in, either that, or where monsters seek refuge. Monsters who have no place left in the outside world…" Yukari said, "But I guess we were 'sealed' in a sense, a long time ago… But that's a long time ago, no need for the bygones, let's focus on the now," Yukari said, "Right! So what do you have in mind, I mean, this is your home," Asgore asked.

"Of course, this is the human village, any outsider should familiarize themselves with this place, as it is the main hub of Gensokyo!" Yukari said, "We've got plenty of food, activities and whatever might peak your interest, also. Don't worry about the humans, they're rather accustomed to our kind," Yukari said, "That's good, humans and monsters should work together," Bulch said. "Bulch is it?" Yukari asked, "Yes Yukari?" Bulch replied, "May I speak to you for a second? I have something I wish to tell you," Yukari asked, "Be my guest!" Asgore said, "What is your home like? Tell me about it," Yukari asked, "Well, our home is called Ebott, or Ebot if you're a human. It's a little different from here, over there it's a little more modern, we have something called television, we have skyscrapers, we have phones, we-" Yukari chuckled, "Asgore silly, although it is true Gensokyo is a little old fashioned, we regularly study and obtain outside, we rely more on magic than technology. But it is true that we wish to modernize, that's usually the Kappa's job," Yukari said. Asgore began to sweat, "O-Oh, I apologize, looks can be deceiving. I should've guessed," Asgore said, Yukari turned into a side street, "Over there is the village book store, Suzunaan, run by our Kosuzu Motoori. Just ignore her if she starts acting funny," Yukari said.

Yukari and Asgore were leading the troop, both speaking quietly as they continued to walk. Papyrus looked over at Marisa, visibly curious, "Greetings black clad girl! My name is Papyrus, the great Papyrus, the now true leader of the Ebottian Royal Guard! I wish to inquire about that oddly shaped box in your hands," Papyrus asked, Marisa looked confused for a second, "Oh, you mean my Mini-Hakkero? It's a magical device, very dangerous for an outsider! Veeery scary!" Marisa said in a spooky voice, Papyrus looked perplexed by this, "Scary? But how? It's just a box! How could a box be dastardly dangerous?" Papyrus asked, "It's not a box… It doesn't even look like one… Like I said, It's veeery dangerous! If you look at it for too long, it'll… It'll explode! Killing me!" Marisa exclaimed, Reimu rolling her eyes, Papyrus gasped, looking away, "Forgive me kind lady! I truly meant nothing by it!" Papyrus exclaimed, "This device can produce intense magical beams, melting anything it touches, it's my boom stick, beside my broom." Marisa said, "Marisa can be pretty rowdy, don't let her get under your skin…" Reimu said, "Gods I just want to go home… But granny wants to go on a morning stroll with her, 'playmates' or whatever…" Reimu muttered, just loud enough to be heard by the Ebottians. "Granny…?" Sans whispered, "Yukari, she's the granny," Reimu clarified.

"Yeah but, Granny…? She looks no older than thirty, and that's stretching it… She looks in her twenties if you were being generous," Sans whispered. "Don't let looks fool you here in Gensokyo, Yukari's old, really old…" Reimu whispered, Sans nodded. "As your team has already discovered, the Kappa's on Youkai mountain have been working on building some outside world technology," Yukari said. "You have, that's interesting, say, we could help you… If you wish," Asgore said. "I would love that, King Asgore, but that can be discussed at a later date. For now, I would like to speak about a future alliance," Yukari said, "An alliance? Now, I'm not currently in charge of Ebot, you see, I am a figurehead. The country is led by our current President, President Garsin, you need to speak to him…" Asgore said. "I think you misunderstood a little, I want us two nations to have a mutual relationship with each other, helping each other's interests equally. Gensokyo offers you magical technologies, foreign aid, living spaces, etc. In return, I wish to receive your technologies, training, and building materials," Yukari proclaimed.

Asgore stoked his beard, "That's very sudden, I must admit. To make a business offer that quick, I'd be glad to, if your idea gets some consideration by the populace that is," Asgore said. "Your populace is divided, I've seen that multiple times in societies," Yukari said, "Yes, quite so. After the merge with humans and monsters, Ebot had a civil war, resulting in the collapse of the pro-human, anti-monster government. But still some nationalists still reside in office, despite our efforts," Bulch said. "Well, considering we look more 'human' than you, I don't see why not. But I'm glad we were able to get together on a day like this, I hope we get along great…" Yukari said, "Perhaps we could stage another meetup, at the Hakurei Shrine maybe?" "Not a chance, my house is not for strangers," Reimu said, "Just kidding, I'll inform Keine to tell the villagers," Yukari said. Bulch caught up to Asgore, placing a hand on his shoulder, "Sir Asgore, the higher ups may frown on you doing so…" Bulch said, "Nonsense, it is what you brought me here to do. Mrs. Yukari, I'd be glad to have a formal party, then we can speak about whatever you wish," Asgore said. "Perfect! Does tonight sound good?" Yukari asked, "You got it, any specifics?" Asgore asked, "Not that I can think of, just bring whomever you please, I love to have company…" Yukari said.

By now the villagers had filled the streets, the group making a circle around the village, "So a meeting tonight?" Sans asked, "That's the plan, there's no need for formal attire, just wear your regular," Yukari said, "Roger that," Sans said. "But where will we stay until then? Our portal will not reopen until it cools back down…" Sans said, "Y-Yeah! Will we have to stay on the streets!?" Papyrus asked, "Of course not! You guests will be staying at Geidontei, the bar down the road here, you may stay there until we have gathered everyone at the Dragon Statue in the center of the village," Yukari said. "Good thing we arrive late, if it's anything like Grillby's then I'll give it five stars," Sans said. "Oh I assure you Sans, it's pretty similar…" Yukari said, "Go on now, if the bar does not suit your tastes, you may explore at your leisure. Several Kappa's will be safeguarding the statue to not spoil the party, I will see you then." Yukari said, walking off, leaving the group at the bar, Reimu and Marisa followed Yukari. "Unfortunately, It's my job to babysit, you all have fun… I suppose…" Reimu said before walking off.

The doorbell rang as the group entered the bar, Miyoi, the bar's Poster girl and waitress. The bar seemed oddly empty, with no one but Miyoi and its elderly owner at the helm. "Greetings outsiders, sit, sit," Miyoi said, motioning to a row of seats at the bar counter. As they sat down, Sans inspected the bar, "You know this place smells an awful lot like Grillby's, what do you serve here?" Sans asked, "Oh nothing, just a little family recipe- Miyoi, bring in the cook!" The elderly owner shouted, "R-Right on it!" Miyoi responded, rushing to the backroom, the group looking confused. Just then, the sound of a muffled voice could be heard, "H-Here sir! Here's the outsider cook!" Miyoi shouted, none other than a tied up Grillby on her shoulder. Despite being made of fire, the rope was wrapped around his clothes, making sure the rope didn't catch fire, Grillby was then dropped onto the counter, "Ta da! What a wonderful surprise! Your friend is right here Sans!" Miyoi shouted, "I-I can see that… W-What! H-How!?" Sans shouted, Grillby quickly burned the gag over his face, "Oh hello Sans, fancy seeing you here," Grillby said, "N-No! Don't just diffuse this, how did you get here!?" Sans shouted, "Me? To be honest Sans, I don't know…" Grillby admitted, "Y-You don't know, Miyoi was it? What the crap did you do!? How did you get Grillby here?" Sans asked, "T-That's a secret, Lady Yukari told me not to tell!" Miyoi replied, "I knew something was up, alright, just untie him will ya?" Sans asked, "Sure thing…"

The now free Grillby got down from the counter, none the wiser, "Not the most comfortable half hour of my existence, but definitely not the worst…" Grillby said, adjusting his tie. Sans let out a large sigh, Papyrus laughing, "Oh wowie! Grillby's here too! To think our friends would get here so fast!" Papyrus remarked, "Sure, whatever… All jokes aside, what is Grillby even here for?" Sans asked, "No reason, just here to be here I suppose!" Miyoi replied, "Correct, I am here," Grillby said. Sans rubbed his eye socket, clearly an old habit from when he still had flesh. Frisk giggled quietly, Sans sighing, "I guess that was pretty unexpected, thanks Miyoi…" Sans said, "No problem! Now, what may I get you to drink?" Miyoi asked, "Whadda we have?" Sans asked, "Oh come on brother, you could at least ask for a menu," Papyrus said, "Well, we're somewhat of a small restaurant here, so unfortunately we don't have a complete menu… But for non-alcoholic drinks we have water, tea and… Water… Um, well we are a bar so…" Miyoi said. "No worries, I'll have tea," Sans ordered, "I'll have water, a Royal Guard Leader must stay hydrated!" Papyrus proclaimed, Frisk ordered both, they thought it might come in handy. Miyoi quickly served up the drinks, handing it to the customers, Grillby stood beside the group, "You know Sans, it's not often I stand on the side of the customers, it's an odd experience…" Grillby said, "Yeah, this place is pretty charming, there's so much of it," Sans said.

Miyoi and the owner chuckled, "Believe it or not, Gensokyo isn't really that big… To be honest it's mostly mountain, but the landmarks and nice forests make up for it. A fantasy land sealed off from the world, no worries!" Miyoi said, "Besides the occasional rowdy Youkai, not much happens here…" The owner said. "Sounds like our kind of place, hey, we may be a little odd ourselves, but we appreciate being here. I hope we can get along just fine," Sans said, "I'll cheer to that my skeleton friend, Miyoi, to the outsiders!" The owner said, raising a drink, "Cheers, but we should probably wait for the real celebration until tonight," Sans said. "Of course, cheers to our new friends!" Miyoi said, in no time, the sun had set over Gensokyo. In that time, a crowd of Youkai, Fairies, and humans had gathered around the statue, setting up stalls and products as fast as possible. In moments, lanterns were strung above houses, illuminating the village center. The owner quickly whispered into Miyoi's ear, "Alright everyone, the time has come, follow me to the Dragon Statue!" Miyoi informed, leading the group out of the bar and into the streets.

Parents, children, rushing village merchants and flying Youkai all commuted to the Statue, the group making it there just in time. As they entered, they were barraged by lights, cheers and warm welcomings. Villagers formed into a line as they passed by, Yukari facing away from them, standing on top of the statue's platform. "You all have deeply warmed our hearts, we are so very glad of your presence… So, let the scheduled meeting commence." Yukari said, turning to face the group, the crowd continued to file up, revealing a long table, several Youkai sitting on its far side. Asgore and Bulch had already been seated at the front of the table, leaving only a few spots. The group filled in the spots, Yukari slowly making her to the end of the table, fancy glasses, cups, and plates lined up to perfection. Exotic and foreign foods lined up, their aroma filling the air. Yukari grabbed one of the glasses, singing it with a fork, "Attention to you all, our guests from the Outside world have waited patiently for this meeting. You may continue your actions as before, but please refrain from being too loud. As for our guest. The Youkai here before you are the Gensokyian council." Yukari said, "You may introduce yourselves…" Yukari said. Two women stood up, one wearing a straw hat, the other with an elaborate twisted rope on her person. "My name is Kanako Yasaka, I am the deity of the Moriya Shrine," Kanako said, "I am Suwako Moriya, I am the deity of the Moriya Shrine as well," Suika said. Both sitting back down in unison.

Asgore nodded, a woman wearing bright green beads stood up, her hair a fade of brown and purple. "My name is Byakuren Hijiri, I am the priestess and head priest of the Myouren Temple. I oversee Human-Youkai relationships," Byakuren said, sitting down. Two others then stood up, Eirin and Kaguya. "I am Kaguya Houraisan! Exiled princess of the Lunarians, now I act as the figurehead for the Earth Rabbit Legion," Kaguya said, Eirin judging Kaguya for a split second. "My name is Eirin Yagokoro, I am the head pharmacist of Gensokyo and beyond. Together we are the heads of commerce and supply here in Gensokyo," Eirin said. Finally, the final batch stood, being none other than the Members of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. "We are the Scarlet Sister, I Remilia Scarlet, I Flandre Scarlet. Our servants, Sakuya, Meiling, Patchouli and Koakuma," Remilia and Flandre said. "Although we do not have an assigned role as of late, we are a private company for various services away from the Gensokyian populace." Remilia said, the final team sitting down, Yukari bowed her head, "Thank you, finally, I am Yukari Yakumo, one of three sages of Gensokyo, now." Yukari said, in unison, all of the middle aged women in the council then stared at the outsiders in a collective, menacing fashion.

The air was just a tinge awkward, "Umm… Sorry?" Sans asked, from out of the crowd, a woman with nine fox tails emerged, a girl with cat ears at her side, "Lady Yakumo, was it really necessary to include the Scarlets?" Ran asked, "Unfortunately, Lady Sayori was not feeling it today, so we had to make due…" Yukari said, Remilia scoffing under her breath. "My apologies," Asgore said, getting up, "My name is Asgore Dreemurr, I am the Ex-King of the Ebottian monster colony, nice to meet your acquaintance." Asgore said, "My name is Bulch Entinard, I am the Commander of the Second Ebottian Motorized Company. Of the army, that is…" Bulch said, the Council staring daggers, but not at them. At Frisk, "What about them?" Kanako asked, "Yes, them, who are they?" Suwako asked, "Aren't they that human? Why should that matter to Lady Kanako?" Remilia asked, "I can tell… That human there has immense magical power, who are they?" Kananko asked, "Kanako… Give them a moment, there's no need to rush them… I apologize for her rash behavior," Eirin said. Frisk, albeit a little nervous, stood up, Frisk said their name, saying that they were the monster's main ambassador and head of foreign relations. "Foreign relations? My, for someone as young as you to be in such a position, and to be a mere human… Must be quite the weight," Suwako said, "You know, us deities could help you with that weight, if you were to give us your faith…" Suwako said. "Oh please Suwako, not this again! And for god's sake don't call them a child, it can be rather insulting to some…" Eirin said, "Kaguya sighed, "Mrs. Eirin, can I speak now?" Kaguya said, annoyed, Eirin sighing loudly, "I guess so… What is it?" Eirin asked.

"When's the jet supposed to fly overhead?" Kaguya asked, causing the table to go silent. Yukari was observing the table curiously, chuckling at her comment, "Soon… There's no need to reprimand her Eirin, the Kappa's are on their way as we speak…" Yukari said. Sans looked over at Frisk, nudging him to check Yukari's stats, Frisk did so, (Yukari: 100,000,000+, too high or inconsistent to have an exact number, is clearly the leader of the group. Has an unnerving air around her. Isn't interacting with the council, instead just observing their moves, she probably knows yours as well…), just then, a familiar roar could be heard, the sound of a jet engine. In an instant, several spotlights shined on the silver clad jet. Yukari stood up to the crowd, "As a sage of this land, I am happy to announce our first ever jet powered aircraft, designed by none other than our most trusted kappa, Lady Nitori!" Yukari said, Nitori coming to her side, "Yes it is true! I, Nitori Kawashiro, have developed our first jet aircraft, fully functional, a symbol of our hopeful alliance together!" Nitori shouted, Asgore rising to see the spectacle, the jet soared above the sky, the spotlights shining on its silver paint. "Frisk… Check that plane…" Sans whispered, Frisk observed the plane closely, it was too small to be a passenger plane… Too thin to carry more than one pilot… This was no civilian airliner, but a fighter jet. Its shape was that of a cigar, its nose stubby, its wings were of a swept wing configuration, the same for its tail fins. A single jet engine on the back, despite its militaristic design, there were no observable weapons, no missiles, no guns, just plain plane.

"What'd you make out…?" Sans whispered, Frisk whispered that there were no observable weapons, and that the plane posed no real threat to anything, "I'll take your word for it… Thanks kid," Sans replied, the plane turning around. Asgore and Bulch clapped as the plane made one final pass, soaring over the crowd before vanishing into the night, the crowd continuing to clap. The rest of the party was uneventful, the biggest hallmark being the dinner made for the bunch, the leftovers being offered to the fairies. "What do you think?" Yukari asked, after a moment of silence, Asgore spoke, "I mean it flys, but… Can't you fly as well, what's the point of this?" ASgore asked, "Very perceptive, well, this jet aircraft is not made for us. Although Youkai can indeed pilot it, its main purpose is to serve the humans of Gensokyo. But also just to engineer our own outside technology," Yukari said. "Well, in that case then we'd be happy to help, if there is anything that you wish to ask of us, then please do so." Asgore said, "Sir Asgore, with all due respect, making business deals like this so early is rather odd, we should take our time with these transactions…" Bulch whispered, "Many thanks, now, once you are done you may enter the Inn down the road there," Yukari said.

After a few minutes the Ebottian's decided to make their way to the hotel, their rooms prepared in advance. Much like most of the village, the hotel seemed deserted, everyone but the staff present. The wooden building was an odd change of pace, most of the outsiders being accustomed to finely air-conditioned rooms and other modern additives to their homes. Only the finest rooms had a sort of mechanically driven fan, a complex gear and rope system turning the fan without the use of electricity. The contraption was actually pretty genius, with the proper amount of support, this could be a hit product back in Ebott for those more ecologically positive. The beds were more less just a crude futon, a blanket and a feather pillow. There were no lights, shrouding the room in darkness at their arrival. Asgore and Bulch went into a seperate room, while the Skeletons and Frisk slept at the entrance. As the group began to fall asleep, Frisk heard a commotion in the other room, "Sir Asgore, I must tell you this. This whole Gensokyo-Ebott has gotten a little rushed, hell, we don't even know if our currencies are the same…" Bulch said, "I understand your concern, still… Making a deal with another monster tribe will be a massive boost for us! Then the nationalists will be outnumbered, have you seen all those fairies… There are almost too many to count…" Asgore said, "It's business Sir Asgore, you know it and I know it. That Yukari lady is acting shifty, just something in the air around her, just off… There's got to be an alternative motive, I mean, look at this shit! All the places we've been have been empty. Doesn't that sound strange?" Bulch asked, "Yeah but what? Why show us a plane with no weapons, this is barely a show of might… I've seen Ebot's military parades, so tell me Bulch, what is their plan?" Asgore asked, "It's obvious is it not? They're planning on getting our technology! They're stuck in the stone age, so it's only natural they'd want to get what stuff they can get, during the first expedition the soldiers sent in had their guns taken away… I doubt that's just a coincidence," Bulch said.

"So what do you suggest?" Asgore asked, "First off, hold the tech trade way back, we need to get a real taste of what this place is like before we make a decision like that. Two, we need to appear strong, tonight they made us look soft, Asgore, you were nodding to everything! You have to have more authority than that!" Bulch said, "Even though you're not the king anymore, at least act like it… But there's one last thing…" Bulch said. "What is it?" Asgore asked, in an instant, Bulch's voice turned into a whisper, "If the Gensokyians begin to form an actual military… Then… We might have to intervene, our men can take on Yukari easily…" Bulch whispered, "Y-You can't be serious… After all this, look Bulch, I know you were in the thick of it back then. But sometimes things can be solved non-violently, I can't believe you'd suggest that…" Asgore said, "Just saying Sir, Ebott needs to take care of itself, one day Gensokyo might become our foe… And blood may need to be shed-" "Good night Bulch, I've heard enough from you…"
