Part 9

Serena walked through the LAX heading right for the taxi stand. She caught sight of Rachel out of the corner of her eye. Making sure not to make eye contact she reached the taxi stand at the same time as Rachel. They bumped into each other both dropping the bags they were carrying. They both bent down to get their bags blocking the bags from the view of on lookers. Serena watched as Rachel slipped her hand into her bag placing the fake crystal in then pulling out the real ones. Rachel raised her eyebrow when she felt a piece of paper wrapped around them. Serena didn't speak but mouthed to her that she needed to take the note to Sydney. Rachel just shoved the package into her bag and both stood up. Rachel walked off and Serena got in a cab to head home.

"Oracle to base ops. I have the package. Shadow Cat has a note for Phoenix."

"Roger head back to base." Said Dixson

Rachel climbed into a car that was waiting for her. The car pulled away from the curb and she opened the note.

Had a run in with a man who called himself Sark. Agent Bristow he wanted me to tell you that he said "hello" and he will see you again.

Serena Turner

Rachel wondered what Sark was up to. He obviously knew exactly who Serena was and that she was a double agent or at least was working for the CIA. That is the only way that he would know that Sydney would get the message.

"Everything ok Agent Gibson?" asked her driver

"Yes Agent Kent." She told the junior agent.

Rachel wished that Dixson hadn't assigned such a junior agent as Kent. She understood that he needed to do something besides sitting at a desk. But this guy really got on her nerves. Yes she was green at one time. But she learned quickly. Well anyone would if they had nearly been killed while in the trunk of a car that was hanging from a crane over a hundred feet in the air. Once back at the office she delivered the crystals to Dixson who was going to send them off to Project Blackhole.

"Everything go as planned?" asked Dixson

"More or less. Seems our new asset had a run in with Sark. Sark knows she is working with us and that Sydney is back in the game."

"I'll have Sydney arrange a meet with Agent Turner to find out more."

"My question is after three years of no one hearing from him why is Sark back in the game now?"

"Unfortunately I don't have any answers for you."

Sark watched from the across the crowded terminal at LAX as Serena made the exchange with Rachel Gibson. He still remembered the one night they had enjoyed each others company. Of course at that time they were using aliases. After both agents were gone he pulled out his phone and made a call.

"Ms. Kozlov I can confirm that your niece is in fact a double agent working against Lentz." Said Sark

"Good. Let the CIA and their allies take out the Pack. But as soon as you can bring me Irina's daughter. I have much to discuss with Sydney."

"While it has been three years, Sydney will not be easy to bring in."

"Use the tranquilizer gun if you have to. I will only release Francie to Sydney."

"Sydney, has accepted her friend died over five years ago."

"I know that you idiot. But the fact is Irina insured that Sloane didn't harm Ms. Calfo."

"What do you want done about Sydney's husband? Michael Vaughn?"

"He and the girl are not to be harmed. I only wish to speak to Sydney. So if she is the only one with the child then don't go after her."

"As you wish Ms. Kozlov."

Serena walked into her apartment to find her roommate Ashlee on the couch watching a movie.

"Hey Ash. What are you watching?"

"Daredevil."

"What is it with you a comic book characters?"

"I don't know what you mean. Ben Affleck is good looking. I mean I wouldn't mind being in a locked room with him."

"He would never go for you. You have the wrong name. He only goes for women named Jennifer. I mean he has been involved with Jennifer Lopez and what's her name? That Jennifer something that plays Elektra in this movie."

Now that I think about it. Elektra looks a lot like Agent Bristow. Thought Serena

The movie was almost over when the phone rang. Serena reached over and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Joey's Pizza?"

"Wrong number."

Serena got up and got ready to head out.

"I just remembered that I need to get some more shampoo. I am going to run out and get it now." Said Serena

Serena was already out the door when Ashlee frowned. She knew for a fact that Serena had a new bottle of shampoo in the bathroom closet. But just shrugged it off. Serena arrived at the warehouse to find Sydney waiting for her.

"Nice work in Hamburg. I got your message."

"Thanks. What do you know about this guy Sark?"

"First let me show you a picture. Is this the guy you had a run in with?"

Serena looked at the blond man with blue eyes. He was a few years younger than the man she had met. But she could tell it was the same man.

"Yeah that's him. Who is he?"

"Julian Sark showed up about ten years ago. Shortly after I became a double. Not much is known about him before then. His biological father was a Russian diplomat named Andrian Lazarey. Sark is loyal only to himself. He has worked with The Man aka Irina Derveko, Arvin Sloane and SD-6, the Covenant and Prophet 5. He will work for whoever he feels will help him in whatever his goals are. He is also a firm follower of Rambladi. He is dangerous and on the list of ten people the CIA is allowed to kill no questions asked."

"What I don't understand is how he knows who I am and that I am working with you."

"He must be working with or for someone that has a mole somewhere in the CIA. Trust me that it would not be the first time there was a mole. I think that I might suggest that it is time for some random lie datacenter tests."

"What should I do if I run into Sark again?"

"Contact us as soon as possible. We want to at least track his movements to see if we can find out who he is in league with."

"Do you want me to try and planet a tracker on him?"

"Not sure if that is a good idea. He might try and kill you. Unless he is under orders not to."

"When I fought with him he seemed to be playing or testing me. Yes he pulled a gun. But it was almost to easy to knock it out of his hand."

"It wouldn't surprise me if he was playing with you."

"He told me that his employers wished me no harm."

"Let me look into things. But I need to ask you something. Is it possible that your father is alive? I only ask because I believed for twenty years that my mother was dead only for her to turn up alive. In fact one of the first things she did when I saw her was shoot me in the shoulder."

"I don't know. My mom only told my brother Sean and me that he was gone and not coming back. I don't think that she ever said he died. I don't think she believed he died. Just that he left us."

"I will see what I can find out."

"I should go. I got to stop at a store and get some shampoo that I don't really need because that is what I told my roommate I was going out to get."

"I will be in touch."

"Oh before I forget. Sark said that Alison didn't kill Francie. That Irina made sure of that. Does that mean something to you?"

"Maybe. But I don't trust Sark."

Serena headed out and Sydney made a call.

"Hey Marshall, I need you to look into something for me. I need you to find out everything on Alexander Turner. Make sure you run his photo through facial recognition. I want to know if he is alive or not. No rush wait until you go into the office in the morning. Tell Carrie hi for me and maybe we can set up a play date for Isabelle and Mitchell, and Franklin soon."

Sydney said bye and headed for home. She was wondering if it was possible that Serena's father had been an agent for another country and disappeared when he was extracted.
