Star Wars: Child'e

Author's note: One reviewer asked why this story is in the X-Men and not the Star War's section of FanFiction dot net. The answer is simple, she's from the X-Men. Same as when I create a DC Universe story that involves her, or any other crossover. When done I create one big file and publish again in the relevant category of FanFiction dot net. Incidentally LordGrise feels that I need to create a section for the state of the Star Wars universe at the time of this story, as well as a summary of just who Illyana (i.e. DarkChilde) is for those who don't know so I suppose I'll be tossing in bits and pieces over the next few chapters (this story is post destruction of the Death Star but before Empire Strikes Back as I wish to see how Illyana interacts with the original characters of Star Wars).

Part 2a: Examinations (Part 1)

A pair of voices in the darkness.

One was complaintive. "And now she's dreaming, yet another impossibility."

The other voice was somewhat electronic. "That's a problem?"

"She should have been dead when you found her, should have died while you brought her here. And should be dying before us. She's suffered complete organ failure, and yet somehow continued to cling to existence. Extreme dehydration, which you have migrated, but humans don't survive that much fluid loss, much less survive long enough to be treated; yet she lived even though her blood should have had the viscosity of sludge. Then the sunburns combined with the second and third degree burns. Now add broken bones and blunt force trauma. Her hand injury, severe as it is, is trivial when stacked up against all that. Your low end Bacta tank got her here to these facilities but she should have been a corpse long ago. She currently has enough pain killing juice to put an adult Bantha in a coma, which her injuries should have put her but…" Unseen the complaintive voice pointed at a monitor, "That is definitely a plot of a dreaming human, and her brain scans are very active in ways I've never seen in a human before."

"Perhaps… she's dreaming about what happened to her." Commented the electronic sounding voice.

Perhaps she was…or perhaps the voices prompted a recollection, and change to the what she was dreaming.

ENTER DREAM

"This is a mistake." Was her cold and dismissive statement. She was standing within a circle of silver fire, which was enclosed by a silver fire pentagram, which was itself within a second outer circle that touched each of the five pentagram points. And who was she conversing with?

That would be the god Odin (He would correct you in that he was a GOD, but in fact, like all such entities, he was a little god, just a very strong one). He was standing at the base of the pentagon, outside of the circle that enclosed her, holding his spear Gungnir (Spear of Heaven) and was busy raising a mighty enchantment. He replied with an irritated grumble. "Yes it was thing of darkness."

Illyana just gave a bit of a sneer in reply as she gazed about. She was dressed in the grey bomb jacket that the X-Men had equipped her with when they locked her up due to that little thing of putting the entire universe at risk to regain her soul. A quick glance about identified five others, each at a pentagram point facing inward. There was:

Dr. Stephan Strange, Sorcerer Supreme of Earth

Teen Loki, Asgardian god of mischief and lies

Amora, she's an Asgardian known as the Enchantress (a villain most of the time)

Jericho Drumm, alias Doctor Voodoo

Wanda Maximoff, known as the Scarlet Witch

Outside the circle facing away was Thor, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, most of the Avengers, Fantastic Four, the Asgardian warriors three, and many an Asgardian warrior. Hmmm, Illyana could see no X-Men or mutants in the crowd so at least they were not actively attempting her demise, a minor fact that surprisingly brought her some comfort.

A slight shake of her head. "Already down by one, Hoarr, or should I just call you one eye? Dr Voodoo is skilled, but he's a C lister at best and this is way out of his league old man."

A comment that appeared to hit home as Odin growled. "Fool of a mortal. He dares to hold the honor of his word over duty. Once done I shall have words with Doom about his failure in this. Final words."

"Hence you're use of a back bencher." Continued Illyana. She'd seen Doom vigorously arguing with the others before teleporting away. She looked about some more. "This… is not what was agreed to."

"You trusted too easily. Odd but convenient." Was Odin's dismissive reply.

"No… I choose to trust when past experiences dictated otherwise. I decided to give you, to give all of you, a chance to be honest. But I suppose that was asking too much. Once a scorpion, always a scorpion I suppose."

Being called a scorpion by a demon was less then pleasing to Odin. "Yes you are vile thing. Your demented and delusional actions are a threat to all that exists."

A shrug from her and just one word. "Wrong."

"In what possible way?"

"My so called delusional actions are the reason you all currently exist."

A sneer from Odin. By the tree he hated time travel, as all gods did as such alterations of reality blended away any such recollections, even the gods. But not for those with the talent, or curse, of being able to do so. "Is that the delusional or the demented part speaking."

"Factual. In the original time line the Elder gods broke loose and ended reality as you know it. Your fate was to be torn in twain by the way and your remains scattered about while dogs ate your entrails."

"And you know this how?"

"I… lingered before traversing backwards. You and I… we exchanged words over your deeds involving me. Some of which you've already done, some of which you now can never do. But all of you here… died. Were slain, eaten, or even worse."

"And yet you let then escape yet again."

"Escape, to be destroyed. And my… her… soul restored to me."

"And you wonder why we act as we do?"

"No… I just hoped for better."

An odd expression flashed across her face as she contemplated. "Hope… such a strange feeling for one who once had none. I once crawled before you, begged for aid. And you cast me into the wilderness with but words of mockery and advice to end myself. I walked the only road I had left, and I won. Afterwards, I choose to… submit to Scott's judgment." She raised her arms to emphasis the bomb jacket. "To let them bind me and incarcerate me. To attempt to do penance for what I'd done. To try to regain their trust."

A snort from Odin. "They gave you up. Listened to us when we came calling, when we offered to undertake the burden confining one such as you." And incidentally gave up the only practitioner of magic that they had, and thus Scott had been outmaneuvered. In the future they would be denied any possible magical assistance from the now removed Magik. A most pleasing outcome to some, a bonus as it were as there were plans in the works on dealing with these few remaining Mutants.

"I wonder what lies you told?"

"But few. Most were so eager to be rid of you. Even the one who you once called friend. Kitty I believe is how she is called. I quote, that thing is not my Yana. I believe her words helped sway many an undecided against you child of darkness."

Words can hurt, and Odin was most skilled in harming. Yes Loki was the god of lies, but nobody ever really gave thought to ask just where, and who, he learned his malice from.

A glare from her. "Ass-gardian."

"Demon, thing of pain and darkness. You end now."

Odin lifted Gungnir above his head as the other five poured the gathered magic and power into the enchantment. Then he stabbed with the spear to focus the magic into a killing strike to end the threat to all creation.

Incandescent incineration as a nova flared forth in the circle, the sound of which drowned out any screams from her. Power sufficient to kill almost anything, god, demon, or otherwise.

Part 2b: Examinations (Part 2)

"Her endorphins are spiking." Spoke the voice in the darkness. "I suspect whatever she's dreaming is traumatic yet… enjoyable?"

"She lived." Replied the electronic sounding voice in a less then sympathetic sounding tone. "There's always pleasure in that."

She… twisted. Felt resistance as if she was in some thick fluid.

"She's actually moving? I'm increasing the nuro suppressors."

"Careful, she's no value to me dead."

"Fete, you've already sunk a ridiculous amount of Imperial credits into this creature. Trust me, after all she's undergone, this is not going to kill her."

Just silence from the other voice, then the first voice exclaims.

"WHAT THE…?!"

The sound of sparks and wrenching of metal as the room heaves and tears.

ENTER DREAM

Should is such a specific word, used to indicate what is probable. Much different then shall which is an expression of future tense, a strong assertion of what is to be.

Such a killing enchantment shall end her. That was the intent. But… substitute the word should and perhaps there would have been second thoughts about undertaking the deed.

In a future not to be the Dreadful Dormammu had likewise attempted to end her in Limbo. Damned her with everything he had. That also was a strong intent, a shall that ended up a should as it failed. An attempt at killing her that resulted in the final integration of her soul with her mind as her behaviors massively changed after the attempt by Dormammu.

Perhaps it was a flaw in the enchantment, or the late in the game substitution of Doctor Voodoo for Doom. Or… Darkchilde did make a habit of being underestimated, of throwing fights, to appear weaker then she was. Then there was the language and rules binding one such as her, legal magical nuances that really need to be followed when attempting to extinguish one who kind of counted as a hell lord. Or perhaps it was some combination of all the above and other things.

Regardless, as the nova of magical energy consumed her, parts of the containment enchantment failed, think of it as circuit breaks or fuses blowing; incidentally protecting Odin from the feedback (gosh, such a coincidence, I somehow suspect the others were not informed of that little nuance of the casting).

Doctor Voodoo was simply vaporized as this was out of his league.

Amora was killed outright, but she did leave a body, a very burnt and crispy body.

Wanda was ejected from the spell and blasted completely out of Limbo, which in hindsight was a good thing for her in that she survived.

Teen Loki survived the wash of power, but perhaps there was a reason that poor Doctor Voodoo been vaporized (Loki is very good with magic after all, and redirecting things). And… well… Loki is the adoptive son of Odin and parents do tend to look out for their offspring better then they do for non family.

Dr. Stephan Strange, Sorcerer Supreme of Earth survived, minus an arm and an eye so not in great condition to do anything.

And in the heart of the explosion, the containment circle shifted to a protection circle as control of the remaining enchantments was seized by another.

By her.

As Odin whispered a horrified "No…." as he gazed upon the her that was revealed.

The head was a horned flaming skull with blackish red flames in place of any hair. The mouth and eyes was like openings to a blast furnace. She, for it was a she, was wearing a spiky full body suit, apart from her lower legs, which were now hoofed. Grasped in her right was a flaming blade that was so hot it looked to be on the verge of melting. Now she was a thing of flame and darkness, stripped of all enwrapping fleshy humanity. The comic character Golden Balls, now known as Egg (See X-Men Comics) had once described this incarnation as a petite female Balrog, and not the sexy kind (Google Illyana demon flame if you don't already know what she looks like).

"The real you…" Was Odin's statement as he strove to regain control of the enchantment as Loki appeared at his right side, weaving protection enchantments.

"Is a mistake old man, not was a mistake." Was her statement as likewise strove to seized control of the power raised against her as Odin cursed in sudden realization as to the true cause of the magical misfire.

She pointed out. "You and yours are forsworn, and with it the enchantments of my self binding withered."

They had sworn to do her no harm, and an attempted killing kind of violates that oath. They had placed her at the center of the enchantment, at the heart of Limbo, the demonic pocket dimension she ruled. And as they struggled over the now unbounded and uncontrolled enchantment of death, Thor gave a cry of alarm as a vast smear of a cloud in both the air and ground, could be seen approaching in the distance. Like million and millions of birds or… or… demons. For Limbo was vast, and so was the number of inhabitants.

All of which were now converging upon this location.

"They are fools." Grumbled Odin as he strove, along with Loki, to wrestle control back. "Little demons, destined to die."

"Perhaps…" Was her reply as she held her sword aloft. "But did I not recently arrange for the ending of the Elder gods?" An almost disinterested sneer. "I wonder how you'll measure up."

With that she detonated her protection circle, like a shaped charge, as the demons arrived, causing Loki to be blasted away from Odin. The resulting fight was epic as Darkchilde with sword battled Odin with spear as all around the demons assaulted like an endless swarm of tooth and claw. Doctor Strange tried to summon a teleportation portal to take them from this place but found that Limbo was on lockdown; nobody was getting out, or in as Odin found that he was unable to summon reinforcements.

Thor, back to back with Loki, spun his hammer about and struck mightily against all foes whilst Loki unleashed all the magics he knew. The rest of the Avengers did not fair so well.

In the end, Hawkeye and the Wasp perished, as well as most of the Avengers, only Captain America somehow continued to survive as so did Iron man, but both had severe injuries.

The Fantastic Four become the Fantastic Two as only Sue and Richard survived as Sue's force field was only able to protect two and she'd chosen her husband over her brother and Ben.

The Warriors three became the Warriors one as only Fandral survived, as did but few of the warriors of Asgard.

Oh, and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), Earth's mightiest hero as the Marvel Publicists are forever saying, the one who is just the best at everything? She took the lead and dealt with the demon S'ym (the head demon of Limbo). "This one's mine!" Had been her war cry.

S'ym was most impressed with her abilities, and had stated as such, as he twisted her head off like a soda bottle top. So… dead dead dead as she found that endless publisher plot armor about how great she is only works in your own book.

In the end, after a most long and bloody fight, it was a bloody Odin holding her by the throat with his left hand, the broken spear Gungnir in his right. He demon form was gone, just a woman held before him. Both were sorely wounded but it was Odin who was the victor.

A spit of saliva mixed with blood upon her body from Odin. "Any last words demon?"

That would be an apparent yes as a now broken Soul Sword materialized in her left hand as she drove the broken shard into the eye patch over his missing right eye and into his brain as she snarled.

"Die Boomer!"

The nature of gods, little g, is that they are creatures of both magic and flesh. They are, in part, embodiments of enchantments. And the Soul Sword can destroy enchantments. And here, in the heart of Limbo, the center of her power. It sufficed to do the deed.

In the resulting explosion all of Limbo was scowered clean in that all was destroyed as Odin was undone. Loki, along with Strange, was able open a dimension portal to rescue the survivors as a magical nova consumed Limbo.

Part 2c: Examinations (Part 3)

The chaos had finally been subdued.

"Two Banthas!"Was exasperated voice's declaration. "Enough sedative to kill at least fifty humans."

The prior chaos had finally been subdued, leaving a broken medical chamber. The glass that enclosed the Bacta tank was cracked and crazed and a medical droid torn to shreds was sparking in a corner. The exasperated voice, the doctor in fact, added. "And add another hundred thousand plus Imperial credits to your bill."

"I'm good for it." Was the dry electronic comment from the armored Boba Fett.

The Doctor continued. "On the plus side, she's a certified major Force user! Worth a fortune to the Empire, we're rich! Well, less for you due to damages."

The sound of a blaster bolt as the Doctor's body is flung into a wall as Boba Fett comments. "Wrong."

Fett was not known for sharing a bounty and this one was now very profitable, and in need of secrecy (two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead). Fett stared at the unconscious naked floating female for a long moment, before exiting the room into what was an office. A press of a few buttons to open a channel, then a long sequence of button presses as the address was entered.

A small holo projection of static as a female sounding electronic voice spoke.

"Yes?"

"Fett here, I have an acquisition. Fifty million Imperial credits."

You could almost hear the blinking of eyes over the comm's link as the statement was processed before there was a reply. "Really? Fifty million?"

"Fifty million. Per the agreement you have the right of first refusal." Was Fett's firm reply.

"Out of my ability to authorize." Was the doubting answer.

"The Empire will want this one, last chance."

A defensive tone. "I did not say no, I just lack authority. Kicking this upstairs to him."

The static flickers, shifts, before returning to just static.

"Fifty million Fett?" States a casual sounding but surprised male voice. "Thirty million tops. Nobody is worth that."

"She is."

"Really?"

"She just tore apart a med center, and before that a cantina, all while being on death's door."

Fett presses a button which apparently shifted the camera to showing her and the wrecked med center.

"Most… impressive. Okay, forty million, and we're not the Empire so you know that you'll survive this"

"I've dealt with the Empire before. Fifty million, ten in bond to be returned if you're not satisfied one year from now." Countered Fett.

"Hmm, oh well. Done. The Crimson Dawn thanks you and will provide shipping details. I oh so hope you are not disappointing me Boba. I would hate to think that you tried to cheat me." Was the voice's both pleased and cautionary reply.

"Not to worry Maul. You'll find I've delivered the goods, like I always do."
