Wow. Now that had to be a record. Four chapters in a single day? I haven't written that many chapters in a while, especially not in a brand-new story. Then again, that might be due to the fact that I already have some ideas as to where I'm taking you guys on this new journey that I plan on writing for you guys. But that's for me to know and you to find out as you keep reading the story. Thanks again for reading, and I would love it if you gave me some feedback in the comments as to what you think so far. Now, let's keep going.
Chapter Five
Talking About It
"Want to take a nap, or talk about it?"
Gabby sighed as she looked at Matt, well aware of what the answer to his question should be, which would be that she should want to talk about it with her husband so that he can help her out. So that he can be the supportive husband he always is and help her out with Sylvie. Yet at the same time, she also doesn't want to bring him back to work when they're taking time off. Just getting close to her husband some more, Gabby smirked as she knew that Matt loved the feeling of her topless body against his muscular chest. And boy did her moving close to him really turn him on, as well as make him moan. "Damn baby." Gabby smirked as she heard Matt say that, before wrapping her arms around his neck and cuddling up to him even more; after which, she kissed him and smiled as they both took things nice and slow with each other in a way that made the both of them quite happy. "So damn sexy." Gabby agreed as she knew that Matt was really enjoying the feeling of her topless body against his chest. "You want to talk about it quick?"
Gabby sighed. "Let me guess, you're really curious about what I said about Sylvie?" Moving his hand to Gabby's side, Matt agreed with Gabby. "Listen, I know we said that we wouldn't talk about work right now. However, I want to talk about it in a different way if that makes sense." Gabby was a bit confused as she heard Matt say that, as she didn't get what he was trying to say. "What are you talking about?" Matt sighed. "Listen, I know things get complicated at times. Most of the time, we talk as Paramedic-in-Chief and Captain when it comes to work." Sighing, Matt proceeded to run his hand up and down her arm to try and get his wife to calm down as she was starting to get tense, which is the last thing he wanted. "I guess, I want to hear about what happened as your husband; if that's possible for you to separate my job as your Captain, and my job as your husband. A job which I haven't been performing as well in unfortunately." Gabby looked at Matt as he said that, absolutely shocked that he actually believes that he's failing as her husband.
"OK. Slow down, what in the world do you mean when you say that you haven't been performing as well in your job as my husband?"
Matt sighed, as that was exactly what he meant. "The truth is, I don't think…no, I know we shouldn't have gone to work yesterday. As your husband, I knew in my heart that we shouldn't have gone to work due to the fact that you had so much on your mind." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she did have a lot on her mind during the entire shift yesterday. "But as your captain, I insisted we go due to the fact that we were both healthy and okay. We weren't sick, so I always think that we should go. But after what I saw yesterday, I feel like you just had so much on your mind that you really weren't okay." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, as that was the truth. When it came down to it, there was no way that she could deny that she wasn't okay yesterday. That she had a lot on her mind, and that she was very much a risk to both her own safety, as well as Brett's safety. "Yeah, my head was everywhere yesterday." Matt agreed with Gabby. "Heck, I'm even wondering whether we should've stayed until end of shift or just left early." Gabby agreed.
She then got even closer to Matt, placing her hands on his face as she wanted to kiss her loving husband; the man who just knows what she needs right now, which she appreciates more than anything. Kissing him softly, Gabby smiled as it felt nice to know that she had a man who wanted to protect her and make her feel like everything was going to be okay regardless of what happens. "Thanks for being there for me." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before kissing her once more. "It's called being your husband." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the truth; and what a great husband he is. "I feel so lucky to have you as my husband." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, as he loves being her husband too. "I love being your husband too, and I hope you know that." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she most certainly does know that he loves being her husband; especially based on the way that he moans for her sometimes. "The way you moan for me sometimes says it all." Matt snickered as he heard Gabby say that.
He then leaned in and started to take things nice and slow with his gorgeous wife (whom he loves more than anything in the entire world), with the hopes of getting her to calm down so that they can talk to each other about what's going on in their lives right now; because as much as they both want to say that they're okay, they both know that isn't entirely the truth. "OK. Now back to the topic that I wanted to talk to you about. I know yesterday was a harder shift that you could really explain to me, and I know that a lot happened. But right now, I need to know what happened with Sylvie babe." Matt then saw Gabby get nervous, seemingly at nothing more than the mention of her name. "OK. Now you really need to talk to me, as you seem to get nervous at nothing more than the simple mention of her name. And that makes me really worried Gabby, which means that I need some answers when it comes to just what the hell happened." Gabby sighed as she heard Matt say that. "Well, it was on a call." Matt agreed with his wife, nodding.
"Yeah, I know that part; because you were both pretty much raring to go when you came back. That was when I first took Ambo offline."
Gabby was confused as she heard Matt say that. "You can do that?" Matt sighed. "I may have lied and told Boden that you asked me if he could do it, I said that you were off and just needed time to rest after a hard call." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, before leaning in and kissing him softly. "You have no idea just how much I appreciate that." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, clearly able to see that was the case; after all, he was just trying to be a good husband and do what his wife needed him to do at the time. But another part of being a good husband includes getting the whole story, which is something that he's yet to do when it comes to what happened between his wife and Sylvie. "OK. We really need to stop getting distracted when it comes to this, as we're here to talk about what happened between you and Sylvie." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. Taking a breath, she then proceeded to tell her husband what happened on the horrible call that she had with Sylvie yesterday.
"OK. So, here's the thing. While we were on the call, I was treating a patient. She had the Ambo bag like the other paramedic always does when the PIC has to do a procedure that they can do."
Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, deciding to just let her talk rather than interrupt her; especially when he has a feeling that something pretty rough went down between the two ladies on Ambo yesterday. "So, I ask her for a tool and she should've easily just given me the tool. But she doesn't. And then she gives me attitude saying she thought I asked for it, but I didn't. I tell her that, and then she gets up and throws the Ambo bag at me…" Matt just stopped his wife there. "Hold on a second, she threw the ambo bag at you?" Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, as that was precisely what she did. "And then left to go back to the Ambo." Matt was concerned as he heard Gabby say that. "Meaning that she left you to finish the call, as well as treating the patient on your own without assistance?" Gabby agreed with Matt. "I mean, it was easy; but yeah, that's exactly what she did." Matt was just floored at what he heard, as that was unacceptable. "God, are you okay?" Gabby nodded as she most certainly was okay, as she's bad ass.
"Yeah, you know me. Tough as nails Gabby Dawson here. But one more thing, since that's not the last of it. I tried to talk to her about it when we got back to the house, but she said that if we can't work together then I shouldn't ride on Ambo 61."
Matt was even more shocked as he heard Gabby say that. "Excuse me? Last time I checked, you were the permanent paramedic on Ambo 61." Gabby agreed with her husband, as that most certainly is the truth; she's the permanent paramedic on Ambulance 61 due to the fact that she's the paramedic-in-chief (the officer). "Honestly, I am debating whether to report her." Matt was shocked that she was debating. I mean, what debate needs to happen when it comes to whether or not she needs to be reported. "Gabby, there's no debate when it comes to it. Heck, especially when it comes to me." Gabby looked at Matt as he said that. "You have to put your captain hat on now, don't you?" Matt shook his head, before sighing. "Well, both of them. As the Captain, I can't allow that to happen at the house. That's unacceptable and insubordination, something I can't allow. There's a chain of command. Chief, Captain, PIC; and yes, you report to me when it comes to me being on scene." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, as she knew that.
And she also knew that Sylvie reports to her. "Babe, you got in shit with Hatcher for doing WAY less. And I mean just challenging the system and it's inefficiencies." Gabby agreed with her husband, as that most certainly is the truth. "Hey, their fault for putting a hot-headed Latina as the PIC." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, before flirting with her. "And showers for her Captain husband to abuse with her. By the way, did you hear what they're doing at the new Firehouse 18?" Gabby shook her head. "What are they doing?" Matt sighed. "They're making it two floors. So, the sleeping quarters will be moved upstairs, and all of the officers get a bigger office with a bedroom AND a private shower." Gabby looked at Matt as he said that. "Oh…can you transfer to Firehouse 18 then? That would be amazing. Imagine how much fun we could have in a private shower." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, before leaning in and kissing the woman he loves. "I love you, but we need to stay where Andy and Shay worked." Gabby agreed with her husband.
After all, they need to stay in the same place where they worked with their best friends. "Yeah. But back to the whole thing with Sylvie." Matt agreed. "Gabby, you need to report her. We need to report her so that she can't get away with that, because that's not fair to you." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, knowing that was precisely what she needs to do; she needs to write up a report and report Sylvie. "And I want to do that as soon as I can. But I just don't want to think about work right now when we have other personal stuff on our mind. I know we're going to have to think about it eventually, but I would rather we just take it easy with each other for now and concentrate on what really matters; us and our marriage. What we want to do with this time off." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, before leaning in and kissing the love of his life. Just taking things nice and slow with his wife, Matt smirked as he was extremely happy as he took things nice and slow with her this morning.
Rolling over on top of his wife, Matt smirked due to the fact that he was starting to want his wife in a way that was not the most appropriate; more specifically, he was starting to want her intimately. He wants to have sex with her, even though they said that they want to relax and take it easy as they take a nap. Yet at the same time, they also want to have fun as they start this vacation with each other. A vacation which is long overdue, and which Matt will most certainly consider this their honeymoon. "I want to take you on a honeymoon while we're off." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, as that most certainly is something that she wants as well. She wants to go on a honeymoon with her husband, whom she loves more than anything in the entire world; and who is very good in bed like right now. So much so, that she decided to put her hands on his face and take things slow with him just as he wanted. While at the same time, she thought about the idea of them going on a honeymoon during their time off. "What do you think of that?"
Gabby smiled as she looked up at Matt, as that was something that she definitely wanted to talk about it. "Oh, I want to talk about it more than anything; but I'm having so much fun as we share this hot kiss with each other." Matt agreed with Gabby when she mentioned that this is a really hot kiss, due to the fact that it really is a hot kiss that they're having with each other. Yet at the same time, they also know that this is just something to make them even more tired. "As long as we both know this is just for fun, and that it's not going to go anywhere." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she knew that this wasn't going anywhere; so, she asked him to lay down on his side. "Lay down on your side then." Matt agreed, doing exactly what his wife wanted him to do; he laid down on his side as she requested, before opening his arms as he wanted something in return: he wanted her to cuddle up to him so that he could hold her body close to him once more. But more specifically, her topless body against his chest (something he always loves to do).
And now that he has it once more, he couldn't help but smile as he felt Gabby cuddle up to him and just hold him close to her. "I think we both know that this is what we both want to do right now. We want to hold each other close as we take it nice and easy with each other." Gabby agreed with Matt as she took things nice and slow with him, more than ready to keep doing this for years to come. "And it's something that I'm more than ready to do for years to come due to the fact that I love my husband more than anything in the entire world." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, well aware that was the case. "Don't I know it." Gabby smirked as she heard Matt say that, before kissing her dreamy husband softly once more. After which, she returned to kissing him nice and slowly as a way to make him happy. "Let me guess, you like it when I kiss you like this; don't you baby?" Matt laughed as he agreed with Gabby, as he most certainly does love the feeling of her just being here with him. It's the best feeling in the entire world.
"I promise you this, it's the best feeling in the entire world."
Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, just smirking as they both held each other close and continued to kiss each other; yet they also both know that they need to do something else. And that would be talk to each other about what Matt mentioned. More specifically, the fact that he wants to take her on a honeymoon. "So, a honeymoon?" Matt agreed with Gabby, as that was precisely what he was thinking about. He was thinking about taking his beautiful wife on a nice honeymoon, which they could both enjoy. "I think we both know that we would both love it if we were on a honeymoon with each other. We need to do it sometime." Gabby smirked as she agreed with Matt, yet she also felt like she needed to do something first. "Listen, I want to talk about that so bad. But…" Matt could just tell what Gabby was thinking about. And that would be the fact that she was a bit tired right now. "You're tired?" Gabby sighed, as she was tired right now. "I know, I should want to talk about this but…" Matt shook his head.
After all, he was more than okay with them taking a nap first if that's what Gabby feel like she needs to do. If she feels like she needs to take a nap, then they will take a nap with each other. "Here, let me lay down on my back and then you can cuddle up to me. You can sleep on my chest like we both know you always want to do." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she most certainly does want to sleep on his chest; and will always want to sleep on his chest due to how comfortable it is. And now that she has a chance to sleep on his chest, she's decided that she plans on taking advantage of that opportunity. The opportunity to sleep on his muscular chest as they hold each other close and cuddle up to each other in a way that will make the both of them very happy. And that would be to wrap her arms around Matt nice and tight so that her breasts were pressed hard against his chest. "I should've expected you to do that." Gabby smirked as she heard Matt say that, before feeling him tug the covers up on top of the both of them as he held her in his arms.
Laying her head down on Matt's chest, Gabby smiled as she put her ear on his heart so that she could listen to it as she cuddled up to him; while Matt placed his hand on her back and stroked it with his thumb. "Just curious, do you really listen to my heart when you do that? I mean, can you even hear my heart beating through my chest? I have always wondered." Turning her head, Gabby smiled as she looked up at the man of her dreams. "Babe, I'm a paramedic. Of course, I can hear your heart beating under my eardrum when I have it right on top of your heart. I have pretty good hearing." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, feeling her snuggle up to him (while also nuzzling her head into the crook of his neck. After which, he ran his hand up and down her back while kissing the top of her head. However, he also mumbled something under his breath that Gabby heard. "Yeah, including some things that I may not want you to hear." Turning her head, Gabby looked up at her husband before threatening him with something he hated the idea of.
"What's that Mr. Casey? Is that you begging me to go put my bra back on?"
Moving his hand to Gabby's neck, Matt smirked as he leaned up and proceeded to kiss her softly. "You do that, and you don't get sex from me Ms. Casey. By the way, don't you love the sound of that? Ms. Casey?" Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that. "You know, when we got home today, I was just thinking about that. How for the past year and a half now, I use my names interchangeably." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, while running his fingers through her hair. "I think it's time then for you to start using your married name. The truth is, I like introducing you as my wife Gabriela Casey." Gabby smirked as she heard Matt say that. "Mr. and Ms. Casey sounds better than Mr. Casey and Ms. Dawson anyways." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, before going ahead with kissing her softly as they took things nice and easy with each other here in the comfort of their bed. "You're mine. Forever." Gabby agreed with Matt, kissing him once more before laying her head down on his chest once more as she cuddled up to the man she loves.
After which, Matt placed his hand on her back and stroked it with his thumb; kissing the top of her head at the same time, Matt smiled as he was quite happy at the moment. He was happy to be holding his wife close to him, as they just relaxed with each other here in the comfort of their bed. "I love you Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that he loves her. "I love you too, forever." Matt nodded as he heard Gabby say that she'll love him forever, as that's how he feels about her. He feels like he's going to love her for the rest of his life, something which he's very happy about. The fact that this life that they're going to have with each other will last forever, until the day they die; he just hopes that they can have a child with each other somehow first. Because that would be something that would really make them both extremely happy. If they had a child with each other. Yet at the same time, it was crucial. He could also be happy with only having Gabby due to the fact that she's the love of his life, but damn would he love to have a baby.
A baby that he and Gabby could call their own, and never have to worry about loosing them in the future. But for now, all he's going to do is concentrate on the present. The present that they can have if they choose to finally go on a honeymoon. A honeymoon that (for now) he can only dream about.
