Hi Readers: What did you think of that nice dream that I wrote for you guys regarding a possible honeymoon for Matt and Gabby? Did you like how long it was? I know, there are times where I, myself wonder whether a chapter is too long. But I think that one was just perfect. But now, it's time for me to keep going with this new story that we're all enjoying and getting back to real time.

Chapter Seven
Changes

He decided to sneak downstairs in the middle of their nap, the husband having decided that he didn't need as much sleep as his wife did this morning. Anyways, it wasn't like he didn't already have a nap at the house earlier this morning; truck was pretty quiet the night before, which allowed them to just take it easy and relax. And that meant that he also got a bit of time to catch up on his work, which he doesn't need to do here at home on his laptop. Instead, he has a bunch of time to spend with his beautiful wife, which begs the question as to why he's downstairs rather than upstairs. And as was just stated, it was due to the fact that Matt was no longer tired, which meant that he had the ability to be awake at the moment, as well as sit anywhere he wants just as long as he's comfortable. But that didn't mean that his wife was all too thrilled about that fact, as she was hoping to wake up in his arms. To wake up in his arms and (maybe) get some intimate time with him, but it wasn't meant to be as she saw him sitting in the living room this morning. Still, that didn't mean that she wasn't going to mention what she thought about doing with her handsome husband.

"So, seems like someone missed out upstairs."

Turning his head when he finally heard his beautiful wife come downstairs, Matt smirked due to the fact that she was currently wearing some very tight shorts; as well as one of his shirts. "Well, looks like someone still wants to tease their husband. Is that you telling me that you want to go back upstairs and get what you should've gotten before our nap?" Looking at her husband, Gabby laughed as that was not happening; not when he was the one that came down here without her. Oh no, he lost out on his chance of having her in bed. "Nice try buddy. Last time I checked, you're the one that came downstairs before me. And that means that you lucked out on getting any action from me this morning." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, taking a breath as he looked at his wife. "I just thought that you might want to take a break for a bit after the news we got recently." Turning her head, Gabby looked at Matt as she was confused as to what he was talking about. "What are you talking about?" Moving to set his iPad down on the couch, Matt extended his hand with the hopes of Gabby getting the message that he wants her to come sit with him. "Want some company?"

Matt agreed with his beautiful wife, as that was precisely what he wanted her to do right now. "Uhm, yeah. I mean, what husband wouldn't want to hold his sexy wife if he had the chance to do so?" Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, before going to get some glasses of water for the both of them. "Care for a glass of water?" Matt smiled as Gabby asked him whether he wanted a glass of water, which he most certainly did. "I would like one, thanks babe." Making her way over to the fridge in the kitchen, Gabby smiled as she proceeded to fill up their glasses of water. "So, did you see the news recently? Seems like City Council is going to approve some more funding to go into the Child & Youth Center in your former district." Matt snickered as he heard Gabby say that. "Is that you telling me that you want me to go back into politics?" Gabby shook her head. "Oh, hell no, I am not telling you that at all." Gabby then turned to face her husband. "Last time I checked, we want to have MORE time with each other, not LESS time with each other." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, smiling as this is what he wants right now. He wants to just laugh and have fun with his wife.

"You know, this is really nice. Us laughing and just having a bit of fun together right now."

Gabby agreed with Matt, feeling the same way about them right now; the way they're laughing is really nice. And it's also a big change compared to how things were before. "I think it's what we need right now." Matt then took a breath, as he felt like there was something else that they needed. More specifically, they needed to talk about something he was thinking that they should do for a bit. He just doesn't know whether Gabby would be okay with it, as it's completely against their goal of what they want to do. Of how they want to have a family with each other as soon as possible. Yet at the same time, he can't help but wonder if them doing what he's going to propose doing for a while might actually help them. But time will only tell when she actually comes to sit with him in his lap. "Here, I got you some water like you wanted." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, appreciating the fact that she got him some water. "Do you need anything to eat?" Gabby shook her head. "I would've grabbed something while I was in there if I did." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth. His wife is quite independent, which he does love (at times).

And then there are times where she really likes to have his help doing some things, which is really nice too. And right now, there is something that they can do together, which would be to talk about something he's been thinking about lately, which would be his wife's mental health. Because that was also another one of Matt's concerns when he went to Boden to get some time off, his wife's mental health. But no, not based on the hard calls that she's been getting of late; but because of how hard seeing all the negative pregnancy tests since they started trying (and now, the news). And he just doesn't know how much more she can take before she breaks. He just hopes that Gabby understands where he's coming from. "So, you want to talk about something down here? Or do you want to go back to bed to talk?" Matt shook his head, before turning to look at the TV. "I'm watching The Players." Climbing into Matt's lap with her water, Gabby was confused as she sat in between his legs. Meanwhile, Matt proceeded to grab the blanket that they had on the couch and covered the both of them up (just like Gabby wanted him to do in the first place). "Thanks." Matt agreed.

"Hey, anything for you."

Gabby agreed with her loving husband as she leaned against his chest with her water, while also watching some golf. Meanwhile, Matt proceeded to grab his water so that he could take a sip of water himself. "So, listen, you said that you wanted to talk to me about something baby, is everything okay?" Turning his head, Matt pressed his lips against Gabby's forehead as he held her in his arms (with his arm now wrapped around her back). "Oh, things are much better now that I have you in my arms once more." Gabby agreed with Matt as she took a sip of her water before laying her head down on his chest. At the same time, Matt also took a sip of his water while stroking her back. "So, listen, I wanted to talk about something with you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, while looking up at him. "You okay baby?" Matt sighed as he looked down at the woman he loves. "I guess…" Matt sighed. "Listen, can I first ask how you slept? I know you haven't been sleeping the best of late since we got the news." Gabby agreed with her husband, taking a breath. "It was okay. I think knowing that we're on break for a while helped." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, smiling at her.

After which, he pressed his lips against her forehead and smiled due to the fact that this is exactly what he and his wife need at the moment. "I mean, I try not to think about the news that we got. How I'm infertile and can never give you what you want." Matt shook his head as he heard Gabby say that, before looking down at her. "Hey, remember what I told you babe all those years ago? When we lost our first baby?" Gabby agreed with her husband, smiling. "I told you that I want you. I didn't vow to love you until death do us part on the condition of us having a baby, I vowed to love you period. There were no strings attached when it came to me vowing to love you for the rest of our lives. "I love the sound of that. Us loving each other for the rest of our lives." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, smiling as they both held each other close here on the couch. "I like the fact that we're holding each other here on the couch instead of upstairs." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, loving the idea of that. "Someday, we're going to be doing this with both each other and our kid." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "And I'll be breastfeeding them." Matt agreed, smiling.

Moving his hand to Gabby's back as she cuddled up to his chest after setting her water down, Gabby took a breath while Matt kissed the top of her head. "One can only hope and dream that we get pregnant." Looking down at his wife, Matt shook his head as that was the last thing that he wanted to hear from Gabby. "Hey, please don't say that baby. We're going to get pregnant; I can already see that happening somehow." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case; there was just no way that they won't have a baby. "I mean, we deserve it. No, we're owed a baby after having two kids stolen away from us." Gabby took a breath as she laid her head down on Matt's heart, while he went ahead and grabbed the remote to put the TV on mute. After all, he doesn't need the TV on when he's talking to Gabby about something serious. "Sorry if we're talking about this all the time, we just both know we need to get it out of our system." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before feeling him grab her hand and intertwine their fingers; something that they both oh so desperately want. "I just have to think that someday it's going to happen." Matt agreed.

Pressing his lips to her forehead, Matt smiled as he continued to hold Gabby close as he went ahead and continued to watch Golf, which is when he spoke up. "C'mon, get in there." Matt then let go of Gabby's hand and fist pumped when it went in. "Finally!" Laughing as she heard Matt say that, Gabby cuddled up to her man and just held him close to her. "So, he finally scored?" Looking down at his wife, Matt just gave her a bit of side eye. "Seriously? Scored?" Gabby just looked at Matt. "Wait, it's golf. Got in the hole I mean." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, before moving his hand to the side of her face and bending down to kiss his wife softly. After which, he proceeded to grab her hand once more and intertwined their fingers. "I hope you know that I do have faith when it comes to us having a baby. And that I'm listening to you even as I watch golf." Gabby agreed with her husband, well aware that he was listening to her. "Oh, I know you're listening to me; because you would be in big trouble if you didn't listen to me." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, trust me, I know that." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at her man.

After which, she spoke at him even though he was watching golf. "So, listen. I want to talk to you about this trip thing and what we're thinking when it comes to timing." Matt agreed with Gabby. "Yeah, when do you want to leave?" Gabby thought about it. "Well, it can't be until Mid-to-Late June." Turning his head, Matt looked down at Gabby. "You want to wait a month and a half before we leave?" Gabby agreed with her husband. "We have Mother's Day in a couple weeks, Diego's birthday at the beginning of June, and Father's Day in mid-June. I know, you don't like my father…." Matt shook his head. "No, I like your father. I just don't like him living with us." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that. "You know, my mom might move in if we have a kid." Turning his head, Matt looked down at his wife and shut that idea down. "I am not living with my in-laws when I already have one that lives down the street, and who has a key to our place." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, as her brother has a key to their place. "Oh, shut up. It was either him or my father who keeps the spare key." Matt laughed. "Good, because I would rather have a cop keep it." Gabby smiled.

After all, she is quite happy as she sits here with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. The man she's happy to be spending some quality time with right now. "Did I thank you for doing this for us yet?" Looking down at his wife, Matt smiled as he was more than okay with having gotten them some time off; time off that they really need. "Babe, I know how much we needed this. And now that I know what happened with you and Sylvie, I know that you needed it more than even." Gabby agreed with matt as he said that, taking a breath as she would rather not talk about that. "Is there any way that we can't talk about that?" Matt agreed with his wife as they most certainly do not need to talk about Sylvie right now. "I promise, we don't need to talk about it right now as she's the last person that I want to think about as I cuddle up to the most beautiful woman in the entire world." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, well aware that's the case. "I know. By the way, you aren't getting shit now. I want to relax for a bit." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Still, I can feel that you're quite comfortable here in my arms." Gabby agreed.

I mean, how could she not be comfortable here in Matt's arms as she cuddles up to him the way she's cuddled up to him right now? "I think we both know that I'm very comfortable whenever I'm in your arms, because it's exactly what I want to do. I want to cuddle up to you whenever I can." Matt smirked as he kissed the side of her head as they both continued to hold each other close right now. "So, I want to talk to you about something else while we're on the topic of you thanking me for this." Gabby agreed with her husband. "Do you think that we should've done this a long time ago?" Gabby agreed with her husband as he asked her that, as she does think that they should've done this a while back. "Yeah, we should've done this a while back." Matt agreed with his wife. "Yeah, after I almost died." Gabby agreed with Matt, as that most certainly was a time where they should've taken some time with each other. They should've taken a bunch of time together and just relaxed. "Yeah, I like that idea; and I am so glad that this is what we decided to do now." That's when Matt and Gabby both heard a knock on the door. "Did you invite someone over?" Gabby shook her head.

Looking up at Matt, Gabby was just really confused. "I thought we said that we wanted time alone." Matt agreed with his wife, as they do want some time alone. Then again, their friends are very social; and that means that they can always come by. "I got it." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, getting out of his lap so that he can go see just who decided to disturb this time he has with Gabby.

Walking up to the front door of his and Gabby's home, Matt was a bit confused as he saw that it was Kelly; turning his head afterwards, Matt went to tell Gabby who it was. "It's Kelly." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that. "Just to let you know, I did tell him that I want time alone with you." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Hey, I am not doubting that's the case. But how about you open the door and let him in?" Matt agreed with Gabby as he said that, before opening the door to their friend. "Hey, what are you doing here?" Kelly smiled as Matt said that. "Sorry, I know that you guys want to have some time alone. And I'm actually here to help with that." Getting up, Gabby just looked at Kelly. "Yeah, because you're helping us get some time alone, by being here at our home?" Kelly then brought out some Molly's from behind his back. "I brought some Molly's." Walking over to her friend, Gabby laughed as she went to grab the food. "You're forgiven for disturbing us. Coming in, you can stay for 10 minutes." Turning his head, Matt looked at his wife. "Ten minutes?" Gabby just looked at her husband. "Bra."

Kelly was confused as he heard Gabby say that, not understanding what she just said. "What are you…" Matt then turned his head and looked at Kelly. "You're in here for 10 minutes at the most. So, get in and then get out in 10 minutes." Kelly agreed with Matt as he said that, before walking into their home; he then made his way over to Gabby and smiled as he proceeded to hug her…which is when he realized what they were talking about. "OH. Bra." Gabby just looked at Kelly as he said that, before punching his arm. "You're dating my best friend." Kelly agreed with Gabby as she said that. "I know, and she works at your bar. Are we stating the obvious now?" Matt just looked at Kelly, before shaking his head. "Kelly, please shut up before you set my wife off. Remember, she's a Latina. Oh, and come in for a bit, we need to tell you something." Turning her head, Gabby was confused as to what they need to tell him. "What do we need to tell him?" Matt looked at his wife. "Brett." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Can you do it? I don't want to think about her when I'm eating. Are you staying Kelly?" Kelly agreed. "I mean, if You'll have me. Stella's getting her hair done." Gabby agreed.

She then looked at Matt. "You tell him, I'm going to put a bra on." Matt just looked at Gabby as she said that. "Babe." Gabby gave her husband a bit of side eye. "You need to calm down if we have friends over." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that. "Then put a sexy one on." Walking over to Matt, Gabby smirked as she proceeded to grab his hand; she then put her hand on his chest and smiled as she leaned in and kissed the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Matt agreed with Gabby as he wrapped his arm around her and grabbed her butt. Squeezing it, he smirked as he kissed her again and was just happy right now. "OK. Calm down boy if you want to have anything later." Gabby then looked at Kelly. "Tell your girlfriend that she's coming over afterwards. If she's in the neighborhood, then I want to see her before we go to the cabin." Turning around, Matt looked at Gabby. "We're going?" Gabby put her hands on her hips and snickered. "I want to put as much distance as possible between us and her." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that. "Ok." Gabby agreed with her husband, smiling as she walked away to go put her bra on.

Meanwhile, Matt smiled as he walked into the kitchen and looked at his friend; while Kelly grabbed the report that he has in his back pocket. "Here, I got you what you wanted." Going to grab the report, Matt took a breath as he opened it. "Do I even want to read it?" Kelly laughed as he looked at Matt. "Just see what it says." Matt agreed with Kelly before going to read it.

"Report from Paramedic Brett, Ambulance 61. When responding to the call, PIC Dawson told me to give her a certain tool; I gave her the tool that she really needed, but she got mad as I didn't obey. She then pushed the Ambulance bag towards me and then told me to take over the patient before abandoning me to get her water in the ambo. After I completed the call on my own, she assi…"

Matt just couldn't finish. "IS SHE KIDDING ME!" Looking at Kelly, Matt was shocked. "Please tell me that they aren't believing this. I mean, this is Gabby we're taking about!" Kelly agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "I already called Boden on my way over after I read it, and I told him what she said. He said that he also got the e-mail you sent him as well as me. We read the e-mails that you sent us, and then looked at the report and we believed you guys of course. So, she's being suspended." Matt was relieved as he heard Kelly say that. "Thank god. Wait, just suspended? Dude, this is firing office." Kelly sighed. "She called her union rep, this is all we can do for now." Matt was horrible. "Mouch is getting involved!" That's when Gabby came back out. "Getting involved in what?" Turning around, Matt looked at his wife. "Babe." Matt then went to hide what was in his hands, before Gabby made her way over to grab it. "You hide things so bad." Gabby then went ahead and proceeded to grab the report from his hands.

Going to look at it, she read it. "Report from Brett? Wait, do you not believe me? Do you…" Matt stopped his wife. "Hey, that's not the truth. You know that I believe you more than anybody in the entire world babe! All I'm doing is figuring out what she's going to say. I want to make sure that we know what we're walking into if we have to go to the tribunals, or the CFD board!" Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, before smiling at Kelly. "Listen, I'm going to read this. Then, I may need to write my own report." Matt sighed. "Gabby, no. I just wanted to know her side so that I know what happened if we get text messages." Gabby looked at Matt. "I need to fix this Matt!" Matt just looked at his wife. "Gabby, you're already dealing with enough!" Kelly agreed with Matt as he said that. "I can't help but agree with your husband Gabby. I mean, we both know that you're dealing with a lot." Gabby sighed as she looked at Kelly before groaning as she proceeded to walk away to her and Matt's room. Meanwhile, Matt let out a sigh as he knew this was a lot.

"Listen, I am going to go talk to my wife. Can you get our food out and then we can eat when we're done?"

Kelly agreed with his friend as he said that, before going to do just that; while Matt made his way over to his and Gabby's room where he could only assume his wife was reading the report that Sylvie wrote. "Kelly, let us know when Stella is here. I might read it too." Kelly agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, I had a feeling that was the case." Matt agreed with Kelly as he said that, before walking into his and Gabby's room so that they could read the report.
