Her parents didn't come up with a solution for the rest of the day. As much as Wyatt wanted to stay and hear what they had to say, he still had his girlfriend and life to get back to. Chris still lived at home for the moment but even he got tired of being around Melinda for that long of a time. Melinda was on edge for the rest of the night and into the morning, expecting her parents to be barging into her room to remind her of how furious they were with her. When she woke up the next morning, she started to wonder if all of it was just a dream.

Melinda slowly got out of bed and made her way down stairs, surprised to see that Piper wasn't in the kitchen but also worrisome. Her mother always loved to be in the kitchen and seeing how she wasn't, made Melinda realize that her little demon stunt actually did happen. She decided to go about as if it was just another normal day for her, which also meant that she was to make a smoothie. She closed her eyes and wished there was another breakfast that she liked to make that didn't cause so much noise.

She cleared her throat and moved her shoulders back before she walked over to the fridge and started to take out the fruits that were in a drawer specifically for her. Melinda straightened up just as she noticed Chris towering over her from behind the door. She let out a yelp which she quickly swallowed down as they both listened to the stillness of the house.

"Seriously, Chris?!"

"Did the parents come down yet?"

"No" Melinda hesitated, "I'm going to be in big trouble, aren't I?"

"You think?" Chris mocked, "I even heard mom talking to the aunts"

Melinda groaned, "I'm so screwed"

"Should've thought of that before you went on that trip" Chris took out a strawberry from her group of fruits, "Whatever it is, you best believe you're going to kiss your birthday party goodbye"

"I figured that was going to happen the second I saw all of you" Melinda mentioned, "I just wanted to be a part of these things"

"I know, sis" Chris nodded, "But you need to realize that wanting to be a part of something isn't all just fun and games. I didn't want to go back in time to save Wyatt's butt but I did. You'll get your turn… just not right now"

Footsteps made both Chris and Melinda straighten up as they could see from the morning sunlight a pair of shadows walking closer and closer. Melinda's stomach was in a knot as she wondered if her dad changed her mother's mind on stripping her powers. They both turned the corner, already looking weary from their long conversation. Melinda couldn't really tell if they came down for dinner or not considering how she just orbed down, grabbed herself a plate and orbed back upstairs to her room. If her powers were to be stripped, she wanted to have a last moment with them.

"Good morning, everyone-" Leo began.

"Don't start without me!" a voice came from above.

"Then get over here!" Chris yelled back.

A couple of seconds later, a swirl of blue orbs trickled down as Wyatt appeared on the other side of the counter. He folded his arms over his chest and peeked over to his siblings before looking back to their parents.

"As I was saying" Leo looked pointedly at Wyatt, "Melinda what you did yesterday must not go unpunished. It nearly cost you your life, I hope you know that. Your mom wanted to first strip your powers but we thought against it. Still, you're to go without using your powers until we say otherwise"

Piper walked over to Melinda and handed her a necklace. She immediately recognized it as one from her mother's jewelry box. It was a butterfly pendant with rose quartz as wings and diamonds on the edges. It suddenly was clear to Melinda as to why her brother heard the voices of their aunts. They were casting a spell on this necklace, Melinda hesitated as she looked up to her mom.

"It will glow if you use your powers," Piper informed her.

She looked over to her brothers as Wyatt gave a small nod. Melinda swallowed as she took the necklace and placed it around her neck, expecting to feel something draining her but to her relief, she didn't feel anything.

"And you're going to have to do chores" Piper continued, "For a whole week, which also includes your birthday"

Melinda sighed but she also nodded and said, "Understood. Can I just say that I'm sorry, I should've told you guys that I had the intention of going and maybe I would've learned more about this demon"

"You would've learned more if you hadn't orbed out like the way you did yesterday and you would've heard us say how dangerous he really was" Chris told her.

Melinda turned to her brother and glared as she said, "Again, I am sorry"

"If she's to be cleaning the Manor, can she come and do my apartment too?" Wyatt asked, "I'm just saying, I was involved in this situation and it was equally traumatizing for me-"

"Woah! Woah! Woah!" Chris straightened up, "If Melinda is cleaning his apartment then she should do my room as well"

Melinda grimaced, "Ew!"

"She's not going to be doing either one of your guys rooms" Leo objected, "Those are off limits because everyone values their privacy"

Melinda breathed out a sigh of relief before she glanced over to her mom. She could tell that she was still hurt from what happened but settled for those two punishments. Melinda had to make a mental note that she would have to try and make it up to her before her punishment was over.

Melinda's watch beeped as she realized that she was going to be late for school.

"Take a muffin, sweetheart," Piper said.

Melinda nodded as she picked a chocolate chip muffin from the plate instead of the fruit she had lying around. She looked to her brothers and gave them a weak wave before walking past her parents. As she passed her father, he stopped her and kissed her lightly on top of the head.

"Have a good day, sweetie"

Melinda sighed, "I'll try to"
