Hello, lovely people!

And here is chapter 3! Not the final chapter like I thought it would be but I think there will only be one or possibly two more chapters after this one until it's finished.

I hope you enjoy!

It had taken a lot of persuading from Finn for Fontaine to finally see his idea as a good one or even something that could be feasibly done but eventually they had gotten there and Fontaine was now crawling through the Aronnax's ducts - heading towards the moon pool room.

Of course, this was her home and so if she had simply walked along the Aronnax's corridors to get to the moon pool she would have been perfectly entitled to do so but she wanted to maintain an element of surprise to ensure that this prank would be almost entirely fool proof.

Upon reaching the room, she carefully removed the vent from the wall and emerged from the ducts, stepping into the empty moon pool room. Fontaine approached the large monitor and pressed the correct button to open the Aronnax's moon pool doors.

A few moments of silence followed and Fontaine almost wondered if something had gone wrong or if she'd gotten something incorrect but just as she was about to voice those concerns aloud, the smooth, tranquil surface of the moon pool's water was abruptly interrupted by a big, grey figure surfacing in the moon pool.

"Hey, Fontaine," Finn called out after removing his mask, waving at her as he bobbed about treading water in the moon pool.

Fontaine grinned upon seeing the Pirate Boy (not because she was seeing the Pirate Boy of course, that would never be the case!) she was just happy at the thought of finally being able to get back at her brother - and at the realisation that she was going to have a partner in crime for this particular mission.

"Hey, Pirate Boy," she called to him, "Come on, we've got to be quick," she told him to hurry him along.

Fontaine knew she was likely going to get in a lot of trouble with her family if they found out she had smuggled a pirate on board their submarine and essentially let him into their home. She had promised herself that it would be okay because they were going to be quick and besides, Finn wasn't coming on board the Aronnax as a pirate - he was here as an accomplice to help her prank Ant. That made things different, she was sure of it, and besides, they had planned this all out well and now nothing could go wrong. It had been over a week since her video call with Finn and since then, the pair of them had both been planning and plotting their revenge perfectly.

"What's that?" she asked. She noticed that Finn was wearing a waterproof bag that from its shape looked to have something (or several somethings) inside.

"Supplies," was the only answer Finn offered with his typical trademark grin. Fontaine raised a eyebrow to show just a little of the judgement and disapproval she felt but she merely rolled her eyes and continued hurrying Finn along, whatever it was, she could deal with it later. Right now, time was of the essence to make sure that all went to plan.

"In here," she told Finn, climbing back into the ducts with the Pirate Boy following close behind, "Put the vent back," she added to him as Finn did so and placed the vent back onto the wall - making it look almost as though nothing unusual or out of the ordinary was amiss.

The pair were then crawling through the ducts in mildly awkward companionable silence. Finn had attempted to strike up a conversation of meaningless small talk a number of times but Fontaine had quickly quieted him before he could say much. After several minutes of crawling through the ducts, Fontaine had guided Finn to her secret room and the two teenagers had both ended up sitting in the room.

Fontaine had initially been unsure about showing Finn her secret room and bringing him in to see it. It had been her own personal, private space for so long at that point and it seemed rather exposing and almost like an invasion of privacy for anyone else to see it. Eventually, she had come to the conclusion that she could bring herself to allow Finn into her secret room since despite being a pirate, he didn't really have any actually harmful intentions and it wasn't like he was going to be on their submarine full time so he probably wouldn't even have that many opportunities to use it against her.

Fontaine highly doubted that Finn would tell Ant about her space - he may have been a pirate but that didn't seem like something he would have done - and since keeping the room a secret from her brother was honestly her top priority, she had deemed Finn worthy of approval to see her secret room.

And now here they were, the pair of them sat in the secret room, preparing to enact their prank to get back at Ant.

"Sorry, the ducts carry sound, we have to be quiet when we're travelling through them, it's safe to talk in here though, the walls are insulated so no noise escapes," Fontaine offered as an explanation for her odd behaviour in the ducts.

"Fair enough," Finn replied with a nonchalant shrug, "You're good at this, the Aronnax's very own Duct Queen,"

"Duct Queen?" Fontaine asked sceptically, sounding rather doubtful.

"On the Dark Orca, ours is my sister, Maddy is always in the ducts, it's quite scary at times to be honest, you never know where she is or where she's going to appear," he responded.

"Yeah, well, this is the only place I can actually get some peace and quiet away from my family - especially Ant," she said.

"I can understand that," Finn nodded before continuing a moment later with, "Are you ready to do this?"

"Oh yeah, I can't wait," she replied with an eager smile, she then frowned as though she had remembered something, "Wait, isn't your family going to notice you're missing today? I can't imagine your dad would be cool with letting you out to spend the day hanging out on our sub,"

"Oh, he doesn't know about it, I've got Maddy to cover me in case he does happen to notice or ask any questions but I don't think he'll even realise I'm gone, he doesn't usually anyway," Finn shrugged as though that was entirely normal.

"Right," Fontaine replied, her voice and tone still incredibly sceptical, "And your sister was just fine with that? How often do you sneak out?"

"She took a bit of convincing but once I had explained that I was sneaking out to help you mess with Ant, she agreed pretty quickly," he answered.

That made sense, Fontaine supposed, she didn't think that Mad Madeline would ever turn down an opportunity to mess with Ant or in this case, for someone else to mess with Ant.

She was still a little uneasy about the thought of Finn being here on the Aronnax - especially without Hammerhead knowing. What if Madeline couldn't distract him and he decided to come after the Aronnax? Her parents would definitely find out about Finn being on board then and she couldn't imagine them being particularly pleased about it if they did. After a moment of considering everything and her brain perpetually focusing on the most ludicrous and insane worst case possible scenarios, she noticed Finn staring at her expectantly.

"What?" She asked, wondering if she might have missed something whilst she was busy contemplating every way this plan could possibly go wrong.

"I asked if you were okay? You looked like you were in your own world," he told her, looking at her with an expression that seemed half-concerned and half-amused.

"Oh right, sorry, I was just thinking," she replied, "Do you think this is actually going to work?" she asked after a moment.

Finn seemed to be silently considering her words for a moment before he then replied with a purely honest and sincere tone.

"I don't know," he spoke truthfully although it was accompanied with a light-hearted and cheery voice, but then he stood up in the small room and held out his hand to her before saying, "So I say we go find out,"

Fontaine looked up at him in slight surprise from where she sat on the floor.

After a few moments with Fontaine saying nothing, with Finn still stood there, hand outstretched in offering, he continued with, "Come on, what's the worst that can happen?"

With that, Fontaine blinked and something in her mind seemed to switch and somehow she realised that he was right, even if they did get caught, it wouldn't be the end of the world, they could figure it out somehow.

"Alright," Fontaine said, accepting his hand and standing up beside him, "Let's go get back at my brother,"

"Let's do it," Finn grinned at her, his smile looking remarkably genuine and lacking its usual piratey mask.

Does anyone have any ideas of what Finn and Fontaine are planning? There's only been a couple of hints dropped so far but I'd love to hear it if anyone has any guesses.

Okay, so this was meant to be the last chapter but then it got too long and I had to split it up into two (whoops!) so the next - and hopefully final - chapter will be out soon, probably in the next few weeks. I would say that it'll be next weekend but I'm not sure if I'll be able to post anything next week because I'm going to be pretty busy with work. I'll do my best to make it happen but I make no promises. Also, I apologise for any mistakes or errors, I did my best to proof read but if I'm being honest, I'm tired so I almost definitely will have missed some. XD

I have lots of one-shots and random ideas on the go in my drafts but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

I wanted to ask, does anyone have any preferences on what they want to see next? It might help me to decide what order to work on things XD I can update this story, or the Anteline Pearl or I can get a one-shot finished from my drafts, or I can make something new with a whole new idea, it's completely up to you really so if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to let me know, I'd love to hear from you.

Until next time! XD
