Through the dark forest, Barbossa and the rest of his crew were making their way to the old fort. Gibbs managed to stay by Jack's side as they walked. "What's your play, Jack? Throwing in with Barbossa."

"There is Faye, but there is also a girl…" Jack responded as they moved vines out of the way.

Carmella grumbled behind them, "You could do better." That made Jack look back and gave her a look, before shaking his head.

"...a..female…of the opposite sex," Jack continued.

"We get it, you said a girl," Carmella said sarcastically.

"When is there not?" Gibbs asked.

"Perhaps I should say "damsel"," Jack said.

"You're rescuing a damsel? Well besides Faye I mean? That's a first," Gibbs said sarcastically.

"Yes, but it's just that I may have caused said damsel some manner of harm many moons ago," Jack continued but was drawing out his explanation.

"The fault is not all on you," Carmalla interjected.

She got an eyebrow raise from Gibbs before he said to Jack, "Out with it."

"Gibbs, this is the woman from Seville," Jack said with slight hesitation.

"Ah, you pretended to love her, then you left her and broke her heart," Gibbs clarified.

"Well that wasn't mentioned before," Carmella said with her arms crossed, "still a pirate, Blackbeard is the same exact way."

"Worse. I may have had, briefly, mind you...stirrings," Jack said simply.

"Stirrings?" Gibbs repeated as they stopped walking.

"Stirrings," Jack repeated.

"What? Like feelings, you mean?" Gibbs asked with a raised brow.

"No, no, no. Not quite all the way to feelings. More like…" Jack said as he tried to say his thoughts.

"Oh, Calypso, give me strength," Carmella muttered under her breath.

After a bit of silence, Gibbs gave a look of knowing, before Jack finally spit it out. "All right, feelings, damn you," He muttered.

"And you left her still. Ooh, that's low," Gibbs said as Jack started to walk again.

"Thank you," Jack whispered with guilt. Carmella watched them both with a sigh. She wondered how Faye was doing and if she was alright. She then walked with Jack and Gibbs silently.

The trio then made their way towards Barbossa when they heard a twig snap. Barbossa was looking at the encampment when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Stealth over force," Jack whispered to him. "I'll take it from here on account of your condition." He then looked at his peg leg before asking, "You don't have termites, do you?"

"I appreciate your concern, Jack, but I'll be keeping you company all the same," Barbossa said.

"You two aren't going anywhere without me," Interjected Carmella as she walked up to Barbossa's left side. "Someone needs to keep you two from fighting."

Jack was going to say something, but Barbossa nodded his head in acknowledgement to Carmella. He then looked over to his crew. "Hold here, Lieutenant Commander. Wait for my signal." The trio then make their way into the water and towards the encampment that is located on a small island. It wasn't long before they got onto land and were dodging soldiers from behind trees. Jack led the way, followed by Barbossa and Carmella at the rear. Soon they stopped in some brush.

Barbossa spotted a man under a tent and whispered to the other two. "There. That one. That be the leader. Make note of his tent because that's where…No, wait. By God, that must be them right there." He looked closer as he spotted two chalices in front of the leader. They heard a noise and all three of them ducked down.

Jack started to sniff as he looked at Barbossa, "Your sword smells funny," He commented.

"Aye. Poison from the innards of poisonous toads," Barbossa commented. "Just a scratch, you're a dead man in minutes." They were crawling their way forward.

"Would you mind pointing it the other way?" Jack asked. "I don't like toads." After a bit of acting like snakes on the ground, Barbossa stood up and leaned on a tree. Jack got up as well and asked him, "What are you doing?"

"Planning an escape route," Barbossa answered. "Isn't that how you do it?"

"Yes," Jack said reluctantly.

"Or sometimes we….improvise," Carmella says as she gets up and dusts off dirt from her clothes.

In the tent, the man was polishing the chalices, his face gently lit by the torches nearby. Jack had managed to sneak into the tent to where the man was. Staying out of view, he carefully snagged one of the chalices from underneath the table. As the man puts down the one he had been cleaning, he blindly reaches for the other but turns his head when he notices it wasn't there. While his gaze was the other way, Barbossa had taken his chance and snagged the other one with his crutch. The man then looked underneath the table to see if they had fallen. Seeing that they weren't there, he started to stand up but was knocked out by Barbossa with his crutch as he and Jack were standing behind the chair. Carmella was standing by the two and in her head she wondered how well this was going to go since she couldn't fight the feeling that they were going to get captured.

"Now what?" Barbossa asked the two before throwing the second chalice to Jack, who then placed the two into a satchel that was hanging on his shoulder.

"We stroll out, slow and steady," Jack said. "Just like we belong."

"This is not going to end well," Carmella sighed as the three tried to make their way out of the encampment. A guard came into sight when they walked down the path. Barbossa and Jack made small acknowledgement as they continued down, but the guard turned around and tried using his musket to start fighting the duo. Jack and Barbossa made quick work of the small group of soldiers who came to help the alerted guard. Soon the men were knocked out and the trio continued on their way down the path.

On their way to the shore which they came from, the trio were stopped by a group of soldiers with their guns at the ready. "I told you!" Carmella told the two.

Back near the pools, where Faye was standing over Phillip's body, she had gently grabbed the dart she found and pulled it out carefully. A groan escaped the boy's body as he started to wake up. He saw the dart, then looked to Faye and back to the dart again confused. Faye dropped it as she tried to explain to Phillip what happened. "Go to her," Faye said to Phillip and urged him to get a move on.

Phillip didn't answer as he made his way back to where Syrena was tied to the roots of a tree, she was in the same position as the poor soul that they saw before. Blackbeard was trying to dry her out to get the tear.

"I'm sorry, Syrena," Phillip pants as he tries to untie her. Faye had followed him and kept a lookout for the others.

"Phillip, you're alive.." Syrena said in shock.

"Yes," he replied.

"You came for me…" She said surprised. Phillip then was able to release her, which made her sink into the water. "Why?" She asked.

He took a second to think of the answer, "You're different, are you not?" Phillip asked. "Do you know not of kindness? Compassion?"

"Watch out!" Faye cried out as Blackbeard's men came out and tore them apart while restraining the maiden of wind.

Gunner had gotten a hold of Phillip while the rest had taken Syrena. One guy held her head down as they held a flask to collect the tear that Syrena had formed. Out from behind, Blackbeard and Angelica approached as the crewmate gave Angelica the flask.

"Tears of sorrow, never." Blackbeard said as he looked at the container. "Mermaids be too tough for that," He said as he took the flask from his daughter. "But tears of joy….They say these be the more potent anyway."

"Syrena, on my word, I had no part in this!" Phillip said sadly and beggingly as he was kept in a tight hold. Syrena looked at him quietly. "Let her go! You don't need her now!"

"Let her go? No." Blackbeard said. "Secure her bonds. We leave her with her own." He then handed the flask back to Angelica.

His comment had enraged Faye as the winds started howling and the trees quivered under the force. Though, before she could unleash her anger on Blackbeard, one of the crew members hit the back of her head with the butt of his gun, knocking her out for the time being. The crew then started to tie Syrena back up while moving Phillip out of the way.
