Attention all readers-Here is the Johto region. I'm going on record to say that I'm working hard on the Johto region and I've only seen certain clips online for certain episodes. In the original airing of Pokemon and its entire running of Ash and Pikachu's journey, I know that Ash doesnt have a sibling. Like the other Pokemon Fanfiction that I have uploaded so far, in my version (as well as others that I have read), Ash has a sibling.
Also, Jordan will do the current count for the number of times Team Rocket tried to take Pikachu and Meeko away from her and Ash, that includes the banned and not aired in the United States episodes. I don't want to make those episodes feel left out. I hope that you will like it and Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN POKEMON! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND THE CREATION OF HER REGIONAL POKEMON TEAM! TO ANYONE WHO HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE REGION ORDER THAT I'M WRITING, I ASK THAT YOU STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT IT! ITS GETTING REALLY ANNOYING RIGHT NOW! I'M WORKING WITH WHAT I GOT SO DONT RUSH ME TO DO THE OTHER REGIONS, OK!
Shoutouts:
Narrator: When we last left our heroes, Ash, Jordan, Misty and Brock were still bound for Violet City. But the road ahead is bound to have some ups and downs!
Jordan: Eh…
"Oh, wow!" said Ash.
"Look at that." said Brock.
"What a great view!" said Misty.
"I'm taking a picture." said Jordan, getting a camera out.
"Pikachu! Riolu!" said Pikachu and Meeko.
"It's gonna be a nice hike through this valley." said Brock.
"Come on, the sooner we get started, the sooner we get to Violet City." said Ash.
"Pika-Pika!" said Pikachu.
Suddenly the ground shakes underneath the quartet, causing them to scream and rocks start to fall from the cliff side. "Great, more adventure." grumbled Misty.
"That's an understatement." said Jordan.
"I guess we're getting off to a rocky start, huh?" asked Ash.
"Let's get going before it happens again." said Brock. Unknown to them, Team Rocket was up on the ledge when the rocks started to fall.
"The rolling stones missed us." said Jessie.
"I hate rocks that roll." said James.
"I wouldn't mind if it was soft rock." said Meowth. The ground shakes around Team Rocket, causing the ledge they were on to break from its surroundings with them on it. Screaming, Team Rocket fell to their doom, landing in the tree vines below.
"It's nice hanging out together." said Meowth.
"Maybe Meowth's plan isn't such a good idea after all." said James.
"A little falling rock can't stop us." said Jessie when a little debris hits her head. "Huh?"
Suddenly, a rock was heading for Team Rocket when they started screaming. "Looks like…" Team Rocket started to say when the boulder crashed.
Continuing on the road, the quartet hears leaves rustling in the bushes next to them. "I heard something." said Ash.
"What is it?" asked Jordan.
"Pika, Pika? Olu?" asked Pikachu and Meeko. Behind the bush, an armored elephant Pokémon was eating. "Don?" the Pokémon asked, looking at the quartet.
"Guys, it's a Pokémon!" said Misty.
"Pika?" asked Pikachu.
"Riol?" Meeko asked, tilting her head.
"Let's see what kind." said Ash.
"Donphan, the Armor Pokémon. With its strong tusks and tough skin, Donphan is known for its powerful Tackle attack. The length of a Donphan's tusks indicate its level." said Dexter.
"Sounds good to me. Now, I just gotta catch it." said Ash.
"Not of I can catch it first." said Jordan.
"Uh, just a second, you two." said Brock.
"Yeah?" asked the siblings.
"I think it's better if I capture this one." he said.
"Why?" asked Jordan.
"What makes you say that?" asked Ash.
"Just look at those tusks." answered Brock.
"Oh!" they both said, looking at Donphan.
"See how short they are compared to the ones in Dexter?" Brock questioned.
"Yeah, so?" said Ash.
"It's young and needs a good breeder to help it grow." said Brock. "And that should obviously be me. Plus, a Donphan like that could hurt someone like Jordan if you captured it, Ash."
"You win this round, Brock." said Jordan. "But the next Pokémon we see, I want to capture it myself."
"And you will, Jordan. I promise." Brock tells her.
"I'll help it grow." said Ash.
"Don't be selfish, Ash, think about what's best for that Donphan." said Brock.
"I'm what's best for that Donphan." argued Ash.
"Well, I say I am…" said Brock.
"Now, come on, guys. There's really nothing for you to fight over." said Misty, getting in the middle of the argument. "The Donphan's leaving."
"She's right. Let's not squabble, boys." said Jordan, pointing to Donphan. "Besides, I think you've both made it feel uncomfortable."
"Wait!" Brock said, calling out after it.
"Where are you going?" asked Ash.
"We can't let that Donphan get away." said Brock. "Onix! Go!"
"Oni!" roared Onix as it comes out of its Pokéball. Donphan turns around and hears Onix.
"Don?" asked Donphan, looking up at Onix as it growled.
"Onix, use your Tackle Attack." said Brock.
"Oni!" bellowed Onix, tackling the ground beneath Donphan.
"Donphan!" growled Donphan as it was knocked into the air and starts spinning, charging at Onix.
Onix yelled out in pain as Donphan made contact with its stone body. "Ah! Onix!" shouted Brock.
"That was fast!" said Misty as Onix landed on the ground.
"You tried your best, Onix." said Brock, calling it back. "Better take your best shot."
"Okay, I'll try something new." said Ash. "I choose you, Heracross."
"Hera!"
"Heracross, try a Tackle Attack now." said Ash.
"Hera!" shouted Heracross, tackling Donphan with its body.
"Phan!" said Donphan, landing on its feet.
"Cross!" said Heracross, staring Donphan down.
"Donpha!" shouted Donphan, charging at Heracross as it starts to roll out again.
"Quick, stop that Donphan with a Horn Attack." said Ash. Heracross stops it and throws it towards a tree with its horn. "Great job, it's getting tired, Heracross." said Ash. "One more attack and that should do it."
"Heracross!"
"That's enough!" said a girl, walking in front of Heracross.
"Huh?"
"Don!" said Donphan, stumbling a bit as it tries to get up.
"Donphan, are you alright?" she asked the armored Pokémon, then looks up at Ash. "So, you thought you could steal my Donphan."
"Uh…." said Ash.
"I should turn you in to Officer Jenny." said the girl.
"He didn't know! Please forgive my brother!" said Jordan, bowing.
"Olu! Pika!" said Meeko and Pikachu, following Jordan.
"Please, don't do that, miss." said Ash. "We didn't know that Donphan belonged to you, honest. My friend and I thought it was wild. Isn't that right, Brock? Hey, Brock! Where'd he go?"
"Found him." said Jordan as she and Meeko sighed.
"Riol." said Meeko.
"I tried, I tried to tell him your Donphan must belong to someone with rare talent." said Brock, holding the girl's hands.
"Ah!" said Ash, falling to the ground.
"And I can see I was right." said Brock. "Uh, what did you say your name was?"
"I didn't, but its Rochelle." she said to Brock.
"I won't keep you ins suspense, my name's Brock." Brock said to her, then sees the necklace around her neck. "My, what a beautiful necklace."
"Thank you. Its amberite." said Rochelle.
"Ah! Amberite, eh? Very appropriate." said Brock.
"Brock, what's amberite?" Misty asked.
"A gemstone!" said Brock. "Amberite's so precious that it used to be worn by royalty just like gold or diamonds."
"I didn't know that." said Jordan.
"Riol." said Meeko.
"Cool." said Ash.
"I should go, but please don't try to catch anymore Donphan here, 'cause they belong to me." Rochelle said to Ash.
"Okay, I won't." said Ash. "But since you're a trainer how about if you and I have a battle, instead?"
"Thanks, Ash, but I think this little one's had enough battling for today." said Rochelle.
"Hey, Donphan. You did great battling against my brother." said Jordan.
"Riolu! Olu!" said Meeko, showing off some muscles as she tells it that its strong.
"Donphan! Don!" said Donphan, blushing in embarrassment.
"Come on, let's go home now." said Rochelle.
"Donphan, Donphan!" it said, heading home.
"Hey, Rochelle, how about tomorrow?" Ash called out, but his question was too late. "Oh, well, it was worth a try."
"Heracross!" said Heracross.
"You were great, Heracross. Return!" said Ash, then looks at the Pokéball. "Don't you worry, Heracross. We'll win a real battle soon."
"What a gem! So absolutely priceless!" Brock dreamily said. "I never imagined there'd be such a treasure hidden in this valley. Never imagined anything so precious and beautiful."
Ash, Jordan and Misty groaned as they hear this. "Its just a rock!" said Ash.
"I think he means Rochelle." said Misty.
"Does he know that he's embarrassing us?" asked Jordan.
"Pika…Cha!" said Pikachu.
"Olu!" said Meeko as both Pokémon sighed in embarrassment.
"I've got things covered down here, Jessie." James called out as he was wearing a disguise.
"I'm on patrol up here." she said, standing on a rock above James.
"Ah, eh, oh." they both said, looking and pointing in two different directions. "A-okay!"
"Pipe down, will you?" asked Meowth. "You'll wreck everything."
"Huh?"
"What's wrong, Meowth?" asked Jessie.
"Whoever said humans is the most intelligent creatures never met these two." Meowth said, looking away from them. "We're wearing these forest ranger get-ups so we can dig around in the valley here and not attract attention. We can look for that amberite and nobody'll get suspicious. And if we find enough of it, we'll all be zillionaires."
"Its so valuable." said James.
"And its so beautiful!" added Jessie. "A gemstone so dazzlingly exquisite, its fit for a queen."
"Sounds good to me!" said James.
"That is, if we get enough of he stuff." said Meowth, dashing Jessie's daydream.
"Alright, let's find the amberite and get rich quick." said Jessie, holding a shovel in her hand.
"Where do we start digging, Meowth?" James asked, holding a pickaxe in his hands.
"We're in luck 'cause I found out there's one guaranteed way to find amberite." Meowth explained. "I overheard two guys talking about the secret. It was back at that rest stop on the mountain when the two of you was taking a snooze."
[Flashback]
Meowth was eating while Jessie and James were taking a nap.
"Hey, that looks like amberite." said one man as the other man opens a briefcase behind them.
"That's what it is." said the second man. "I got all of these samples from a Donphan Trainer who lives down in the valley. The only way to find top-quality amberite is to have a Donphan sniff it out!"
"Hmm. Wish I had one!" said the first man. Unknown to them, Meowth heard every word.
"Having a Donphan's like having a goldmine." said the second man and Meowth starts laughing.
[Flashback ends]
"All we got to do is snoop around this valley till we find one of them Donphan!" said Meowth.
"And then what?" asked Jessie and James.
"Then it leads us to the amberite and we land on easy street." Meowth tells them.
"Easy street, here we come!" said James and Jessie.
Over by a waterfall, Rochelle was with her Donphan. "Ready to try, Donphan?" she asked.
"Donphan!" it said, ready to do anything.
"Okay, this is amberite." Rochelle said, holding out her necklace. "Give it a good sniff!"
Donphan smells the amberite when suddenly an explosion was heard overhead. "Huh?" said Rochelle, looking into the distance of the explosion and sees Team Rocket standing before her.
"We just found ourselves a Donphan." said Meowth. "I think this is a cause for celebration."
"Lets celebrate with some fireworks. One, two, three." said James, setting them off.
"Lets see if this fire works." said Jessie, holding a net catching bazooka and fires. A net came out and wraps around Donphan.
"Donphan!" cried Rochelle as Team Rocket captures it.
"We'll take real good care of it." said Meowth.
"Ahh!" exclaimed Rochelle as she watches Team Rocket fly away. "Donphan!"
"Hah, it feels good to finally do somethin' totally one hundred percent perfect, doesn't it, guys?" Meowth asked.
"And we owe our success to the brilliant plan of our favorite Pokémon, Meowth." said Jessie, giggling. "You're a genius, Meowth."
"What's with the fan?" James asked.
"Its for all this hot air." she replied, lightly laughing.
"Hello, little Donphan. Let's get this show on the road." Meowth said. "Start digging for that amberite."
"Don, Donphan." said Donphan, not wanting to do it.
"You find those stones right now or I'll pack you up in that trunk, you punk." demanded Jessie.
"Easy, Jess, its not going to help us if you scream at it." suggested James. "Maybe if we cuddle it with kindness, it'll lead us to the amberite."
A bush with leaves was set down in front of Donphan. "Don?" asked Donphan.
"A smart little Pokémon like you deserves a little snack." said James. "Enjoy it, Donphannie!"
"Dona! Dona!" it said, nodding happily as it eats the leaves James gave it.
"Hello!" Rochelle called out to Team Rocket, searching for her Donphan. "Can you hear me? Sweetie, please come back."
"Rochelle?" asked Misty.
"Misty?" asked Rochelle.
"What's the matter, Rochelle? What's wrong?" asked Misty.
"Its obvious that she cant bear to be separated from me." said Brock. "I heard you calling, but I'm here now. But, don't worry, Rochelle I'll never leave your side ever again."
"Get real, Romeo." said Misty and Jordan as they and Meeko pulled him away by his ear.
"Gotcha." said Brock. "Oh, ow, easy, easy, I'm real. I'm real, ah!"
"We know that, lover-boy. We're not stupid." said Jordan.
"Tell me, did you happen to see anybody dressed in an orange jumpsuit?" Rochelle asked Ash.
"No, we havent." said Ash.
"Please tell me if you do because they took Donphan." said Rochelle.
"Did you get a good look at 'em?" asked Ash. "How many of them were there?"
"Pikachu!" said Pikachu angrily.
"There was one guy, one girl, and one talking Meowth." Rochelle tells him.
"Huh? Its Team Rocket." said the quartet.
"And Bath time for Meowth!" shouted Jordan.
"Riol!" said Meeko as both of them had water guns in their hands. In a canyon, Donphan continued eating its leaves in front of Team Rocket without a care in the world.
"Don! Don! Donph!" said Donphan, still eating.
"Isn't that cute, Jessie?" asked James. "Donphan's really enjoying its shrub grub."
"Maybe you'd like a little amberite for dessert." said Jessie.
"Don!"
"Quit pigging out and find that amberite!" shouted Jessie.
"Now, now. Donphan's almost finished, Jess." James said. "Then, I'm sure our little friend here will be full and ready to find some. Wont you, Donphan?"
"Phan?" it said, curious as it starts to smell for amberite. Walking off, Donphan was on the hunt with Team Rocket walking behind it.
"Get ready, you guys. Wherever it stops, we dig." said Meowth.
"We may get a little dirty digging, Jessie." James tells her.
"But we'll all be filthy rich. Ha-Ha." added Jessie.
"Donphan! Phan!" Donphan said to Team Rocket.
"It's here!" said James.
"This must be the spot." said Jessie.
"The faster we dig in, the sooner we clean up." said Meowth.
James starts digging with his pickaxe. "It wont be long now." said James.
"Until we hit pay dirt." said Jessie. Team Rocket kept digging.
"Donphan?" asked Donphan, curious to know what they were doing. Back in the forest, Zubat flies over head, looking for Donphan.
"It's no use, guys, its not working." said Brock.
"I'm starting to wish that we hadn't freed Pidgeot." said Jordan.
"Olu, Riol." added Meeko.
"Zubat!" said Zubat, flying back to Brock.
"Zubat's Supersonic isn't working out here." Brock said. "There are too many trees and the sound gets all deflected."
"There's got to be some way for the Pokémon to find Donphan." said Misty. Out of nowhere, Rochelle takes out a whistle and uses it. Across the valley, the sound of Rochelle's whistle was heard.
"Well…there's one other way to do it." suggested Brock. The three older trainers turned around, looking at Jordan and Meeko.
"Ri?" asked Meeko.
"Why are you looking at Meeko like that?" asked Jordan.
"How should I know?" asked Ash.
"Get Dexter out and he will explain why." said Brock and Ash does so.
"Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon. Riolu can discern the physical and emotional states of people, Pokémon, and other natural things from the shape of their aura waves." said Dexter.
"Since Meeko only knows your emotions, Jordan, why not let her try and recognize others emotions." suggested Brock.
"That's a good idea." said Misty.
"What do you say, sis?" asked Ash.
"Let's try it and see how it goes." said Jordan and turns to Meeko. "Try and see if you can make out Donphan's aura. It's okay if you don't want to do it, at least I know that you've tried."
"Riolu. Olu!" said Meeko, determined to find Donphan by trying. Meeko stood for a moment before placing her paws together and sends out her first aura pulse.
"Wow!" said Ash and Misty.
"Impressive." said Brock.
"I didn't know you could do that, Meeko." said Jordan.
"Olu." said Meeko, shocking herself as well. Just then, they hear something rumbling against the ground.
"What's that?" asked Ash.
"Pika?" asked Pikachu. A herd of Donphan was on their way.
"Her herd heard!" exclaimed Ash.
"Pika!" shouted Pikachu as the Donphan herd stops in front of Rochelle.
"Good job. You got here fast." she said.
"Rochelle, these Donphan don't all belong to you, do they?" asked Misty.
"They do. And I train all of them to answer to this whistle." said Rochelle.
"Wow….you have more than Ash does when it comes to his Tauros." said Jordan.
"Jordan….you thinking what I'm thinking?" asked Ash.
"Oh yeah! I'm getting us a set of whistles." said Jordan.
"Rochelle, that's really impressive." said Brock. "But why didn't the lost one come?"
"Well, unfortunately, Team Rocket took my youngest Donphan." explained Rochelle. "I havent had time to train it yet. Okay now, go out there and find our friend."
"Don, Don, Don." said Donphan, nodding and leads the way.
Groaning, Team Rocket dug so many holes all over the place. "I think we may have dug ourselves into another hole." said James. "And there's no amberite in it."
"Maybe something's wrong with Donphan's sniffer." Meowth complained.
"Please find us some amberite." James begged Donphan. "I know your nose knows where it is."
"Donphan?" asked Donphan, tilting its head, then tries again to smell amberite.
"Hey, look, its got a whiff of something." said James.
"Donphan, Donphan, Donphan!"
"Huh?" said Team Rocket as the herd of Donphan ran towards them.
"More Donphan." said Jessie.
"Oh, no. They must be this one's buddies." said Meowth.
"Well, what are we going to do now?" asked James.
"There they are!" shouted Ash and Jordan, running up behind the Donphan.
"Huh?"
"Why is it every time something rotten happens you three are always behind it?" asked Ash.
"I second that question!" said Jordan.
"When Team Rocket's around, be prepared for trouble."
"Multiply by two and make it double."
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!" said Jessie.
"Surrender now or prepare to fight for amberite!" said James.
"Meowth, that's right!" said Meowth.
"Great, now why don't you just make things easy and give us back the Donphan and we can all be on our way." said Misty.
"Hand it over, you guys." said Brock.
"Ah, we aint handing Donphan over to nobody." said Meowth. "Not until it finds us some amberite."
"How come?" asked Misty.
"They must've take my Donphan because they heard Donphan can be trained to find amberite." said Rochelle.
"Wow, really? I didn't know you could do that with Donphan." said Jordan.
"I say we get rid of these pests and find that amberite." said Meowth.
"Right! Lets do it, Victreebel!" shouted James.
"Get in there and battle, Arbok!" said Jessie.
"Cha-bak!" said Arbok as Victreebel screams.
"How many times do I have to tell you?" James asked, running around with Victreebel on his head. "You're on my side."
"Don't worry, Rochelle, I'll protect you from these three." said Brock. "Go, Onix!"
Onix roared its way towards Team Rocket while Victreebel screamed its way towards the rock snake. "Victreebel, Wrap attack!" shouted James.
"Quick, Onix. Bind Attack!" shouted Brock.
"Onix!" roared Onix as it Binds Victreebel in its grip.
"Victreebel, use your Sleep Powder Attack." said James.
"Tree!" squealed Victreebel, lifting up its leaf and spreads its Sleep Powder on Onix, who then roared in surprised as it starts falling asleep.
"Onix, no!" shouted Brock as Onix falls asleep.
"Nice of you to take a nap on us, Onix." said Jordan.
"Now, its our turn, Misty! Jordan!" said Ash.
"We'll stop them." said Misty.
"Lets go!" shouted Jordan.
"I choose you, Heracross." said Ash.
"Heracross!"
"Poliwag, I choose you." said Misty.
"Poli!"
"Squirt, I choose you." said Jordan.
"Wartortle!"
"They don't stand a chance against us. Even if it is three against one." said Jessie.
"We're going to squash that squirt, mug that bug and pound that dragon." said James.
"We'll just see about that." said Misty. "Poliwag, use Double Slap attack!"
"Poli, Poli, Poli." said Poliwag, using Double Slap on Victreebel.
"Squirt, use your Rapid Spin!" shouted Jordan.
"Wartortle!" shouted Squirt, jumping into the air as he withdrew his arms, legs, head and tail, spinning rapidly at Victreebel.
"Now switch to Bubble Attack." said Misty and Jordan.
"Poli! Wartort!" Both water type Pokémon released Bubbles on Victreebel, who screamed in pain as it gets knocked back.
"Huh?" said James as Victreebel lands on his head. "Hey, let go, you're squishing me. Go squash the squirt, will you?"
"You're crushing Meowth!" Meowth yelled out from underneath James.
"Quick, Heracross, use Tackle Attack." said Ash.
"Heracross!" shouted Heracross, tackling Arbok.
"Not again." said Jessie as Arbok crashes into her. "Ow!"
"Great job, Heracross." praised Ash. "Now use Horn Attack!"
Heracross uses its horn to lift Team Rocket into their balloon. "Okay, Pikachu. Thunderbolt Attack, now!" said Ash.
"Meeko, help him out with Vacuum Wave!" said Jordan.
"Pika…chu!" shouted Pikachu, releasing Thunderbolt from his body.
"Riol…u!" shouted Meeko, releasing Vacuum Wave from her palms.
Team Rocket screams as Thunderbolt and Vacuum Wave hits them. Suddenly, their balloon gets a hole in it. "I cant believe this is happening." said Jessie.
"I don't know why." said Meowth.
"Just like every other day, we're getting blown away." said James.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off a-a-again." they shouted as the Team Rocket balloon wooshes away with them in the basket.
"Donphan." said Donphan as it gets hugged by Rochelle.
"I was worried about you." said Rochelle.
"Donpha!" said Donphan, relieved to be back with Rochelle.
"I'm glad we're back together, too." she said.
"I guess you must be pretty impressed by us." said Brock.
"Oh, I am, Brock, you were all amazing." Rochelle said in agreement. "But the one I fell in love with…was Pikachu, naturally."
"That's fair." said Jordan as Brock falls down in defeat. "Ash, Meeko and I adore the mouse."
"Pika!" said Pikachu, blushing.
"I wonder why Team Rocket couldn't make your Donphan find any amberite." wondered Misty.
"I know why. Donphan have be trained to find it." Rochelle explains. "I just started teaching this one, but it hasn't had enough practice to find amberite on its own yet."
"Well, as usual, Team Rocket wound up with exactly what they deserved." said Ash.
"Absolutely nothing!" added Misty.
"Thank goodness." said Jordan.
"Maybe you would like a demonstration of how the Donphan find amberite." said Rochelle.
"Yeah, that'd be cool." said Misty.
"Yes, please!" said Jordan.
"Pika, Pika!" said Pikachu.
"Riolu!" said Meeko.
"Toge, Togeprii!" squealed Togepi. They all walked over to an area of the canyon.
"I'll use the Donphan I've had the longest because it has the most experience." said Rochelle as said Donphan looks up at her. "Ok, Donphan, time to find some amberite for us."
Donphan starts smelling the necklace. "That's right, you remember this, don't you?" she asked.
"Don." it said.
"Okay, go find it." said Rochelle.
"Don!" said Donphan, raising its truck as it smells for amberite.
"It looks like its sniffing." said Ash.
"I guess that's how they find the amberite." said Brock.
"Cool." said Jordan, holding a camcorder out.
"Toge-Toge!"
"Donph, Donph, Donph!" said Donphan, running in a direction.
"It must have picked up the scent." said Ash.
"Pika." said Pikachu as Donphan runs towards a rock wall and crashes into it, causing the quartet to scream. Donphan kept running into the rock wall over and over.
"That rockslide we were in must have come from a Donphan looking for amberite." said Misty.
"Pikachu. Riolu." said Pikachu and Meeko. Just then, a piece of rock fell from the cliffside, breaking apart and a piece of amberite fell in front of Rochelle.
"Well, here's what amberite looks like." said Rochelle, picking up the piece and showing the quartet.
"Oh!" gasped Ash.
"Wow! Its so shiny and beautiful." said Misty.
"Its more than beautiful, Misty. Its gorgeous." said Jordan.
"Ah, what do you do with all the amberite after you find it, Rochelle?" asked Brock.
"Lots of artists and craftspeople live nearby. They make their living craving statues and jewelry from amberite." said Rochelle. "So, they count on me to supply it and luckily, my Donphan are strong enough to find it."
"They sure are." said Ash.
"Ash, isn't there anything I could do to thank you for helping me get my little Donphan back?" asked Rochelle.
"I know, it'd really help me get ready for the Johto League if you'd battle me with your Donphan." said Ash. "What do you say?"
"I'd love to!" replied Rochelle.
"Yeah, would it be okay if you used that one there with the big tusks?" Ash asked, pointing to the one who found the amberite.
"You got it!" she said.
"Awesome!" said Jordan.
"Come on, Ash, you can win this one!" said Misty.
"Yeah. I choose you, Heracross!" said Ash.
"Heracross!"
"Go, Donphan! Tackle Attack!" shouted Rochelle.
"Don, Don!" said Donphan, running towards Heracross and tackles it.
"Heracross, use your Endure." said Ash.
"Heracross!" shouted Heracross, digging its feet into the ground as Donphan continues to push it back.
"Okay, now give it a toss." said Ash.
"Hera…." said Heracross, picking Donphan up by its trunk and swings it around. "cross!"
"Nice recovery, Donphan," said Rochelle as Donphan lands on its feet. "now show them your Roll Out Attack."
"Do!" roared Donphan as it rolls into a ball and starts spinning. Heracross jumps out of the way as Donphan makes its way with Roll Out.
"Heracross, lout out behind you." Ash called out.
"Hera!" it said, looking behind but was too late to jump out of the way. Donphan knocks Heracross out of the way and into a tree as it rolls back towards Rochelle.
"Heracross!" said Ash. Out of nowhere, Heracross made its decision to have a sweet snack on the tree.
"Really? Riol?" asked Jordan and Meeko.
"Lets go, this is no time to stop for a snack." said Ash.
"He's never said that before." said Misty.
"Pika." said Pikachu, drooping his ears.
"Togeprii!"
After having its snack, Heracross rejoins the battle. "Heracross!" it said.
"Donphan, finish it off with your Tackle attack." said Rochelle.
"Heracross, use your head." said Ash. Both Pokémon slammed into one another, pushing each other back with all their might. "Heracross, throw it with your Horn." said Ash.
"Heracross!" shouted Heracross, using its Horn to throw Donphan into the air.
"Perfect!" said Ash.
"Quick, Donphan, turn it into a Roll Out." said Rochelle.
"Don!" shouted Donphan, using Roll Out once again.
"Now use Tackle attack!" shouted Rochelle. While using Roll Out, Donphan uses Tackle and knocks Heracross back.
"Heracross, no." cried Ash and runs over to Heracross. "Ah! You sure put up a great battle."
"Heracross." said Heracross, nodding at Ash.
"Especially against an experience Donphan like mine." said Rochelle.
"That's true." said Ash. "We just need a little more training."
"Pika, Pika." said Pikachu.
"But even so, we almost beat them. Didn't we, Heracross?" asked Ash.
"Heracross." said Heracross, smiling.
"But you can't forget, we're gonna work on not having you take off for a snack break during a battle, okay?" Jordan said to Heracross.
"Cross, Heracross." it said, nodding in understanding.
"Him and Pikachu? That's one thing." said Jordan, pointing to her brother. "You on the other hand…."
"Olu, Olu. Riolu." said Meeko, telling Heracross when it's okay to have a snack and when it's not.
"Heracross."
"You did! You're a great team." Rochelle said to Ash and Heracross. "And Heracross is strong."
"Its only going to keep getting stronger, just you wait and see." said Brock.
"Brock's right." said Misty.
"Togeprii!" squealed Togepi.
"It takes time for a Pokémon to get to know its trainer and become the best that it can be." said Rochelle.
"Don't you worry, Heracross." said Ash. "Pretty soon, you'll be unbeatable."
"Heracross." said Heracross.
"Bye, guys." said Rochelle as the sun sets behind the quartet. "And thanks again for your help."
"Goodbye, Rochelle, and thank you, too." said Ash.
"Pika-Pika!" said Pikachu.
"Hope we see you again." said Misty.
"And maybe we can see how good this Donphan is in finding amberite." said Jordan.
"Riol-Riol!" said Meeko.
"Donphan!" said the littlest Donphan, stamping its foot in happiness.
Narrator: A grateful Rochelle bids our friends a fond farewell as they head once again to Violet City.
Jordan: She's a nice person.
Narrator: You don't think she'll make a good wife for Brock?
Jordan: I don't know. I'm not Brock's little sister. The only way I'll do that is when Ash becomes Brock's age. Which isn't for another five years.
Meeko: Olu!
Narrator: Oh boy. And though Ash and Heracross may have lost this time, they've both gained valuable experience. That experience will help them prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in the journey to the Johto League.
