"Nuka… Nuka… Oh Nuka… Come on wake up you sleepyhead… Nuka…"
Suddenly, Nuka slowly woke up and was surprised to see his best friend Para right in front of him. "Pa-Para? What are you doing here," the lion cub asked her.
"Just wanna see my best friend again," the jaguar told him. "There's nothing wrong with seeing a friend who saved my life."
"I… I guess now…" The lion looks over and realizes it's still nighttime. "It's too early… Why did you wake me up?"
"Uh to have some fun. Duh."
"It's early…"
"Yeah and I wanna have some fun."
"Wh-Well, I can't leave the cave without anyone's permission…"
"Jeez you really are too scared to take risks. Come on. We're only going for a walk. It won't take too long. You'll be back before you know it."
Nuka slowly gets up and stretches without waking up Kiara. "Okay… but not too long. I don't want anyone to worry about me."
"You got it, Nuka. Let's go!" The two cub sneaks out of the cave and heads out to the wilderness during the night.
It wasn't long before the sunrise emerged, which concerned Nuka as the two cubs were walking through the mountainside. "My family is gonna wake up soon," he told Para. "Why are we here?"
"For another prank! Duh!"
"What?! Haven't you learned anything from last time?!"
"We're not gonna prank on gators. We're gonna prank… them."
When they turned a corner, they spotted Timon and Pumbaa as the two were sniffing for any meals. The lion cub immediately hid himself and whispered to Para, "But we already pranked them a couple of days ago. I don't wanna prank them again."
"True but you prank them. Not me. So, I'mma prank them."
"Please don't. They're very sweet and kind. I don't wanna upset them."
"Dude. It's just a prank. No harm no done."
"Said that to those we pranked and the monsters who almost killed us."
"Most of those jerks deserve it!"
"But some of them didn't."
"Look. If you don't wanna help me, then you can go back to your cave and sleep. You're killing my buzz here."
"Fine. Maybe I will."
"You know you were cool when you helped me prank those losers. Now, you're such a buzzkill."
Nuka begins to walk away from his best friend from her rude insult as he mumbled to himself, "But this buzzkill saved your life and… cares about you…" The lion cub left his best friend alone as the jaguar cub made her move.
"Come on Pumbaa," the meerkat shouted at his best friend. "Those bugs were here before then they have to be here somewhere else! Keep looking!"
"I'm looking and sniffing around but I can't find any," the warthog told him. "Are you sure we're at the right place?"
"We're at the right place! We're at the right place! I saw them here dozens of times! I studied every tasty bug's activity and where they came and went! I'm a bug expert."
"Maybe they went somewhere else?"
"Or maybe those stupid birds beat us to the buffet again! They're nothing but rats with wings!"
"Can you please leave the birds alone? They eat what they wanna eat."
"This is our turf! They're not welcome on our turf!"
"Oh the birds beat ya to it," Para told them as she surprised the two. "Yeah, the bird swarmed here a while ago before you two got here."
"Darn it all! I hate those rats with wings!"
"But… I think I spotted some escaped from the frenzy in opposite directions. You two could probably find them quickly if you split up."
"Huh? That's wonderful! I don't know who you are but I like ya, kid!"
"But Timon, I don't think that's a good idea," the warthog told him. "Who knows what could be out there?"
"Oh calm down, Pumbaa. We're basically royalties! No one is gonna mess with us! Besides, you're a warthog! A tough guy! No one would ever think about picking a fight with ya."
"Basically any big sharp teeth predators!"
"I'm sure there's none around here for miles. Quit being a scary cat and go look for some bugs!"
"Fine fine! Please watch yourself, Timon.
"I'll be fine, you big softy. You just watch your behind out there. And don't ya worry about me too much." The two split up and search for their meals while Para smirks at her tricks and follows the warthog so she can scare him.
Meanwhile, Nuka was heading back home while he was still upset about his argument with his best friend until he was scared of Kiara approaching him. The lioness arrives at the lion cub as she's very concerned about his disappearance. "Nuka! There you are. Where have you been? You weren't there when I woke up. I was worried sick," the princess said to the cub.
"I'm so sorry, Kiara," Nuka apologized to her. "My best friend woke me up early for another prank. We… We got into a fight and… I don't think she wants to spend time with me for a while…"
"Oh no… I'm so sorry to hear that, Nuka. I'm sorry but… sometimes friends don't like to do things they're not comfortable or interested in. You did nothing wrong."
"I… I really don't wanna lose a friend like Para… Su-Sure she always does reckless and dangerous stuff but… she's so cool and smart… plus… I hardly play with other kids…"
Kiara smiles kindly as she leans down and nuzzles Nuka's cheek, cheering him up. "You're fine, Nuka. You and Para just need a little space is all. I'm sure she'll come around and hang out with you soon."
"You think so?"
"Absolutely. You'll see."
"Thank you, Kiara. You're always the best and… you'll always be my best friend."
"Aww! You're so sweet, my little Nuka." The two nuzzled each other cutely.
Back to the others, Pumbaa looks through the grass for any bugs while on the lookout for any predators nearby as he's shivering in fear. He took several deep breaths, trying not to panic. "Come on, Pumbaa! You can do this," he talks to himself. "Just find some bugs and get back to Timon! Simple as that! Maybe he's right. Like there are any predators out here? What kind of predators would be out here out of all places?" The warthog laughed to himself as he kept searching for any bugs.
As the warthog kept looking, Para sneaks behind him and she smirks at her upcoming prank for Pumbaa. "Yeah… No predators around here," the jaguar cub whispered to herself. "Unless you're afraid of a cub like me, porky."
The warthog finally spotted a few bugs nearby and got a closer look. The cub smirks as she sneaks closer to Pumbaa while he's distracted. She was about to scare him and was very excited to see the scared look on his face… until they heard something ahead of them. When the two stared into the distance, there was something within the grass stalking them. They then realize that the shadowy figure is a male lion! They both scream and ram for their lives as the savage lion charges in to hunt them down.
Nuka and Kiara heard their screams from a distance. "That's Para and Mr. Pumbaa," Nuka cried. "They must be in trouble!"
"I thought you said that Para was just pulling pranks," Kiara asked.
"But she's screaming!"
"Oh no. Nuka, you stay here! I'll be right back!" Kiara ran off to find and save the others.
Nuka knew that he couldn't sit by knowing that his friends were in danger. He wants to save them but there's nothing much he can do to help since he's a cub. After only a few minutes of thinking and hesitation, the lion cub shook his head and ran off to save his friends.
Para and Pumbaa ran for their lives as they were being chased by the lion. Suddenly, when they flee under a log, the warthog is stuck as he tries to escape. The jaguar cub was hesitant about leaving him but she couldn't do it as she went back and placed her jaws on the tusks to pull him out. Timon hurried to them after he heard their cries. "Pumbaa! Pumbaa! What the heck is going on here," he asked them while he was confused.
"HE'S GONNA EAT US," the warthog cried in fear.
"What?" The meerkat climbed on top of his best friend. "Who in their right mind would-" He suddenly spotted the male lion charging at them. "WHOA!!" He immediately helped them by pushing Pumbaa's rear end. "Jeez! Why do I always have to save you-AHHH!!"
The male lion was about to eat the three of them as they all screamed in horror until Kiara emerged and tackled the predator as the two began to fight. Para and Timon keep helping Pumbaa to get out of the log while the two lions are battling it out as they bite and sink their claws at each other. "Wh-What's going on?! What's happening," the warthog cried.
"It's okay buddy! Everything is going to be okay! We're here for ya!"
Para tries her best to help them until she realizes that Kiara is fighting the male lion. "Th-That's Princess Kiara," she told them. "Princess Kiara is fighting him alone!"
"What?! Our niece?!"
"We have to help her," Pumbaa cried as he struggled to free himself.
Suddenly, the male lion knocks Kiara away and slams her against a boulder, knocking her out. Para saw what happened to the lioness and couldn't let her die so she immediately rushed to her aid. "Hey! Where are ya going?! Ya gotta get yourself killed!"
Before the lion could slay Kiara, the leopard cub leaped forward and sank her jaws into the male lion's tail. The savage beast roared in pain as he tried to bite or shake Para off him. After several minutes, the mad animal managed to shake the leopard off him.
Nuka finally arrives and he's shocked to see Kiara unconscious until he's horrified to see a male lion is about to kill his best friend, Para. The brave lion cub climbs up some boulders to jump off and lands on the savage creature's back to bite on his ear. The mad lion roars in anger as he tries to shake him off while the little cub tries to hold on tight. Sadly, Nuka was shaken off the deadly animal and crashed to the ground.
The male lion decides to end Nuka first as he charges toward the lion cub. When Kiara and Para regain consciousness, they're both horrified to see the savage beast charges to kill their best friend as he slowly picks himself up. "NUKA," they both cried in tears as the helpless cub was about to be killed.
Suddenly, the male lion stopped in front of the scared cub while Nuka was shaken in complete fear. Then, a voice the young cub recognized calms him. "Nuka?" The little lion slowly turns towards his attacker and he's completely surprised to see that the male lion is his older brother, Kovu. "Is that you?"
"Ko-Kovu," Nuka said, surprised as tears formed in his eyes.
The two brothers rush and nuzzle each other's cheeks as they're shedding tears and crying together. Everyone is confused about what is happening as they watch the two brothers are reunited. "Whoa whoa whoa wait! Time out," Timon interrupted the brothers as he stepped in between them. "What's going on here?! You know this guy, kid?!"
"Nuka, you met this lion before," Kiara asked him as she and Para approached them.
"Oh sorry," Nuka apologized. "Kiara! Para! Mr. Timon! Mr. Pumbaa! I would like you all to meet my brother, Kovu!"
"Brother," they all said, confused.
"Yup! He's my brother!"
"Nuka, you know these Pridelanders," Kovu asked.
"Yeah. They're my friends! The beautiful lioness is Kiara! She was the first to find me and has taken good care of me ever since. The awesome leopard is Para! She's my best friend! These two are Mr. Timon and Mr. Pumbaa! They eat bugs."
"Ah great. We hardly spend time with the kid and that's how much he knows about us," Timon says.
"Well, we do eat bugs," Pumbaa told him.
"Yeah but we're more than that!"
"Nuka… I… I don't understand," Kovu said as he was very confused. "H-How are you alive?"
"What do you mean alive," Para asked with an annoyed expression. "He's standing in front of ya, ain't he?"
"I mean… we all thought that you were killed by the Pridelanders…"
"What? We would never harm an innocent cub like Nuka," Kiara told him.
"Kovu, why would you think that," Nuka asked his brother.
"Because father told everyone what happened to you," the older brother told him. "He told us he was trying to protect you until Simba killed you."
"My father would never do that to Nuka," Kiara snarled at him.
"Your father? Wait! You're the daughter of Simba?!"
"Yes I am! And you must be the son of that monster Scar!"
"Well, at least my father doesn't exile his fellow lions to the middle of nowhere!"
"My father isn't a tyrant! He is a kind-hearted and generous ruler of the Prideland!"
"Your father would have killed my little brother when I took him out hunting in your land!"
"My father isn't as cold-blooded as you think he is!"
"No! Please don't fight," Nuka begs them as he immediately gets in between the two.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, Nuka," Kiara immediately apologized to him.
"Oh… So sorry, brother," Kovu apologized as well.
"Kovu… dad is lying. Me and him weren't attacked by Mr. Simba…"
"What? Then… what happened to you?"
Nuka took a deep breath before he told his brother the truth. "Dad told me that he wanted to teach me how to hunt. When he took me away from the Outland… he tried to kill me…"
Kovu stares at his little brother as he's both shocked and horrified by the truth. "I… I knew it," he responded. "I knew he was lying… Bu-But how did you escape from him?"
"A lioness attacked father before he could kill me. I don't know who she is but she saved my life."
"Wait… if you escape from father then… how come you didn't come back and tell us what happened?"
"If… If I came back home… father would've been waiting for me and… he would kill me…"
"Oh, Nuka… I… I'm so sorry… I… I'm so sorry for not being there for you… I… I should've looked for you… I… I should've done something… anything…" Kovu started to shed tears in front of his little brother. "I'm so sorry… I'm so so sorry… Can you ever forgive me?"
Nuka replied by comforting his big brother as he nuzzles his cheek. "Seeing you again is enough for me… I'm so happy to see you again, Kovu… I missed you so much…"
"I missed you too, Nuka… I'm so happy that you're alive…"
As the brothers comfort each other, Kiara and Para watch as they shed a few tears from this beautiful moment. The silence ended when Timon and Pumbaa both hugged each other and cried together from the moment. "Come on," the lioness whispered to the others. "Let's give them some privacy." They all leave the two brothers alone to catch up.
Nuka and Kovu slowly separated as they smiled at each other. The lion cub slowly frowned when he asked his big brother a tough question, "So… how's everyone back home?"
Kovu frowned as he lay in front of his little brother before he responded, "It's been bad since everyone believed that you were dead. Father and mother are ordering our pride to hunt more food in the Prideland. Vitani formed her own pack to lead the hunt. I tried my best to keep her in check but… she changed since you're gone… she became angry and she has so much hatred for the Pridelanders…"
"Oh no… I'm so sorry, Kovu… And what about Azra?"
"Nuka… Azra… She's torturing herself…"
"Wh-What?"
"Ever since we were told you were dead… Azra blames herself for not protecting you… She hardly left the cave and… we always heard her crying every single night… every time we tried to comfort her, she always pushed us away… she's broken without you, Nuka…"
Nuka took a few steps back after hearing what happened to his older sister as he shed tears. Kovu leans forward and nuzzles his brother's cheek, comforting him. "I… Ah-Azra… my big sister… I'm so sorry… I'm so very sorry…"
"It wasn't your fault, Nuka… it was our father. He needs to pay for the crime he has done to our family and pride. With you alive we can convince others about what he has done."
"I… I don't think that's a good idea, Kovu…"
"What? Didn't you hear what happened to everyone in the outland?! Our pride is getting closer to war against Prideland! If they continue to steal food from the Prideland, then it will be war! We can easily prevent it if they see you alive-"
"But what if dad spotted me?! He'll kill me if we tried-"
"I won't let that happen-"
"He's too strong and very dangerous, Kovu! He'll… He'll kill you… I… I don't want you to die because of me…"
"Nuka… That will never happen-"
"But I don't wanna take that chance… Please… I… I need to stay here and… stay away from our home…"
"Nuka! There will be a war between our home and Prideland! And you'll do nothing about it?!"
"I never said that! If… If it gets any worse… then I'll find a way to reveal myself to our family behind our father's back. I know that dad is waiting for me if I return… And if he knows if I'm living in the Prideland-"
"Then he'll go after your friends… I… I understand, Nuka. I understand. I… I'm so sorry for letting this happen to you, Nuka… I should've been a better brother to you…"
"You are the best brother, Kovu. None of this is your fault. It's dad… He did this… He's… He's a horrible father to me…"
"To all of us. A father should keep his family together… not tear them apart for his own selfish ambition. He needs to be stopped soon… He has to be stopped…"
"We'll find a way, Kovu. Together… but please don't tell anyone about me… Dad will kill you if you know the truth…"
"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone… but you should. Especially to Azra… She misses and needs you, Nuka."
"I… I'll find a way, Kovu. I… I'll try."
"I know you will. I… I need to go. If I'm gone for too long, everyone will be suspicious. I… I'm so happy that you're alive." Kovu leans in and gives his little brother one last nuzzle before he leaves. "I'll find you when I can, Nuka. I'll be there for our sisters. Please stay safe and be good."
"I will… I will… I love you, Kovu."
"I love you too, Nuka."
After saying to his older brother and watching him leave, the lion cub started to shed a few tears from seeing his Kovu again and learning what happened to his home. Nuka grows extremely worried for his older sister, Azra, and what she's doing to herself. Suddenly, his moment alone was interrupted by Kiara and the others when they checked up on him. "Nuka? Sweetie, are you okay," the lioness asked him with concern.
"I… I think so," Nuka responded with a few tears in his eyes.
"Nuka, why are you crying," Para asked him as she sat by his side.
"Did you brother do something to-"
"No! No," Nuka quickly told Kiara. "My brother would never do something horrible to me."
"Tell us that earlier when he was trying to eat us," Timon said.
"Timon," Pumbaa shoved him. "That wasn't-"
"Nono! No, it's fine," the lion cub told them. "He would never do that to any of you if he knew you're all my friends. M-My brother told me what was happening back at my home in the Outland… It isn't good…"
"What happened," Kiara asked as she lay next to the lion cub.
"It's my sisters… M-My one sister helped my dad to do his horrible deeds… and my oldest sister she… she… she's hurting her…" Nuka began shedding tears and cried remembering what happened to Azra.
Kiara leans in and nuzzles Nuka's cheek while comforting the lion cub. "Shh… It's okay. It's okay. I'm so sorry for what happened to your sisters. They deserve better." She planted a kiss on his forehead.
"I… I'm so sorry but… I miss my sisters so much… I miss their love and their loving hugs… I miss them so very much…"
"I know you do… and I know that they miss you as well, Nuka. You'll see your sisters again someday. They'll be very happy when they see you again and shower you with love."
"I… I just wanna be with them… I just want to let them know that I'm alright and safe but… I'm scared that my dad will kill me… or worse kill them…"
"Please don't think that, Nuka. They'll be safe. You'll find a way to see them again. All you can do now is to live your life and dream of you and your sisters being together again."
Nuka responds by nuzzling Kiara's cheek while he's still shedding a few tears as the lioness nuzzles him back. Soon, Para joins them and comforts her best friend as Timon and Pumbaa cry from the beautiful moment and hug each other. Finally, the two slowly separated the lion cub after he calmed down and wiped away his tears. "Are you going to be okay, Nuka," the leopard cub asked him.
"I… I think so," he responded. "It's just… It's just great to see my brother again. I'm so sorry my brother attacked you all."
"It's fine, Nuka," Kiara told him while nuzzling his cheek. "I'm sure he didn't mean it."
"I… I only wished I could've seen my sisters as well…"
"You'll see them someday, Nuka. Come on. Let's leave and head back home. I'm sure my parents are gonna be worried about us."
"Could you please not tell them about my brother? I don't wanna get him into trouble with them."
"Don't worry, Nuka. We won't tell anyone about him. Right?"
"Absolutely," the warthog nodded.
"My lips are sealed," Para smirks.
"Ehh as long he ain't biting my tail," the meerkat responds.
"Thank you. All of you," the lion cub smiles at everyone as they begin to leave.
While they're heading home, Para crawls beside her best friend and apologizes to him, "Nuka… I… I wanna say that I'm sorry for hurting your feelings earlier… I… I shouldn't have called you a buzzkill… You're never a buzzkill…"
"It's okay, Para," the lion cub smiles at her. "You don't have to apologize. We just argued. It's okay. Friends usually fight each other over things they don't like. It's natural."
"Thanks. And thank you for saving me back there."
"Of course! You're my best friend. I was never going to leave you behind. I'll always be there by your side."
"Thank you, Nuka. You really are a true friend to me. I hope I can repay you back by saving your fur someday."
"Hopefully." The two cubs laughed together while Kiara looked over at the two and smiled, seeing their sweet friendship. Suddenly, Nuka stopped and looked back at the area where he reunited with his brother one last time before heading back to the pride rock with the others, hoping they'll meet again.
At night in the outland, Kovu arrives at his home as he watches the other lionesses minding their business while he heads past them. He spots Vitani with her pack as they drag two dead gazelles to the others. He approaches his sister to greet her, "Ha, Vitani. You got some good catches for today."
"Yeah. We gave some Pridelanders the slip when we caught these two," Vitani smirks. "What about you, brother? I don't see you with any catch of your own."
"I ran into some trouble along the way. I couldn't catch any good meals for the day."
"There's plenty of food for everyone, hopefully. You know how father loves to hog most of it to himself."
"It would be nice for father to help out with hunting out there."
"You know he's not fit to hunt, Kovu."
"He could at least catch small animals instead. All he ever does is lay on that big boulder and do absolutely nothing all day."
"Kovu! Lower your voice. You know he'll hear you. And don't you dare talk to our father that way! Besides… he did his best trying to protect our little brother… Our father loved our brother so much that he was willing to give up his life for him… I still miss our little Nuka…"
"I… I miss him too… It just isn't the same without him…"
"I know… but we have to move on for him."
"Yeah… Have you seen Azra?"
"You know the answer to that, Kovu. She hasn't been the same since… Nuka…"
"I'll check in on her."
"She doesn't want to see any of us…"
"She needs us whether she wants it or not."
Kovu heads to the cave to seek her older sister, Azra. When he approaches the entrance, he can hear her whimper and sobbing echoes through the cave. He slowly enters and searches through his home until he finds his sister laying on the spot where she used to sleep with Nuka while she's shedding tears. "Azra…"
When she spotted her brother, Azra used her paw to wipe away her tears and growled at him. "What are you doing here, Kovu," she asked him enraged.
"I came to check on you… like any good brother should do."
"GET OUT!! Leave me alone!"
"Azra, you've been crying endlessly ever since we lost Nu-"
Azra roared at her brother and growled, showing her deadly teeth. "Don't you dare mention our brother's name! You… You have no right to say his name!"
"Azra, he was my brother-"
"NO YOU WERE NOT!!! Father found you pathetic and little once your father was slain by him and mother died when she gave birth to-"
"Don't you dare mention my real mother! Nuka was my brother! I loved him and gave him so much affection like any good big brother should!"
"The only reason why father took you in is because you could become the heir to his so-called kingdom! You were never my brother-"
"You don't mean that. You love me and welcome me to the family. We did our best-taking care of Nuka… all three of us… but… but he's gone-"
"SHUT UP!!! This is all your fault!"
"My fault-"
"Yes it's your fault! You should've gone with them! You should have stayed with him all the time! You should have protected my little angel! You should've died! It should be you who died on that day! NOT MY NUKA!!! NOT MY SWEET LITTLE ANGEL!!!"
The two stood there in silence while Azra started to shed tears as Kovu was shocked by how broken his sister became. The oldest sister lay on the ground as she began to cry. "IT'S NOT FAIR!!! HE WAS HARMLESS!!! HE WOULD NEVER HURT ANYONE!!! HE WAS NICE AND SWEET!!! HE WAS MY BABY BROTHER!!! A sweet angel like him isn't supposed to die… he's supposed to be safe… I'm supposed to keep him safe… Nuka… I'm so sorry, Nuka… I'm so sorry…"
Kovu heads over and tries to comfort his sister until she growls at him, causing him to back away. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!! JUST… please… leave me alone…" There was nothing more he could do so the male lion left the cave as he shed a few tears from hearing his sister's whimpering.
When he stepped outside, he spotted his father laying on the same boulder as always while Kovu became enraged. The male lion heads up to see his father while Scar lay and staring at the Prideland. "Father," the lion grabs his father's attention.
"Kovu," Scar responds without looking.
"How are you?"
"I'm well. Just enjoy the view of my future kingdom. The kingdom that's rightfully mine."
"Yet you're just laying here and doing nothing about it."
"I'll play my cards just right until I rid the Pridelanders once and for all."
"If you're done fantasizing about your dream, how about you should focus on being there for your family. Have you even checked on Azra? She's completely broken ever since we… we lost Nuka…"
"She's a big girl. She'll get over it."
"It's been months since we lost him! She even blamed herself for losing him! She needs us! She needs you!"
"She needs to be strong, Kovu. Tragically, we lost our little worm but we have to move on and forget him. Sadly, it seems that only me, your mother, and Vitani move on."
"Except Vitani didn't forget about him! Neither did Azra and I! We took care of him since you and your mother never took care of him! You two never loved him like we did!"
"We need strong lions! We don't need weaklings like him."
"Wh-Weaking?! Nuka is more of a lion than you'll ever be!"
Scar growled at his son as he stared at him in a complete rage. "Learn your place, Kovu! I'm a greater lion than everyone, especially my pathetic brother!"
"Nuka was never weak! He was brave, kind, and sweet to everyone. Especially to monsters like you, father."
"Calling me a monster? After I tried to save his pathetic life?"
"What really happened on that day, father?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm talking about! The day we lost Nuka! What exactly happened?!"
The scarred lion stares at his son as they both look at each other angrily. Scar cleared his throat and answered, "I was taking Nuka out to hunt. Teaching how to become a better lion like you always bugged me about. I was teaching him how to hunt properly… until Simba and his followers ambushed us. I begged him to let the conflict between me and him… keep my little Nuka out of it… but he refused. I took Nuka and ran away because I wouldn't want anything to happen to him. I placed Nuka in a hidden path where he can escape while I lure the others away and tell him that I will find him… by the time I lure the Pridelanders away… Simba captured him and… executed him right in front of me… do you want details on how exactly he was killed, my son?"
"… No."
"I managed to escape and lose Simba and his followers… but I couldn't save your brother… I know I was harassed towards him but… I do love your brother, Kovu… I have always loved him… and I always will…"
Kovu became more enraged at his father for lying to him even though he knows the truth. However, he calmed himself and responded to Scar, "I'm sorry, father… I guess I haven't been the same since… Nuka died… I know that you did everything you could to save him… I appreciate everything you did for our family…"
"Apology accepted. Now, leave me be. I believe you should get some rest for tomorrow. I want you to bring double the meal Vitani and her pack caught. You will be my successor after all."
"Yes, father… Goodnight…"
"Goodnight… Kovu…"
Finally, Kovu began leaving his father to head off to sleep as Scar looked back at him, noticing his son's suspicion before he looked back at the view of the Prideland. The young lion went off to find a spot to sleep on until he looked in the direction of the Prideland for a while, knowing that his brother was safe and alive. He soon lies on the ground and drifts off to slumber.
