Ticket here, and welcome back to "Fight for Fiji!" I'm here to let those who still read know that college move-in is coming up, so you will have to wait for Season 4 to come out, for a little while. I still intend to get that season out regardless. Nonetheless, THIS season will still be completed before September ends. We're so close to the finish folks, it's only a matter of time!
Enjoy!
Day 42
Gordon Ramsay and Sonic The Hedgehog
Good morning to the finalists in Fiji. It's just them eating together with no strategy going on at all. No plots to get each other. Just a reflection of what in the world happened last night.
Even the chef's surprised. After escaping death since merge, he did it. That's something he and the blue have in common.
"You are still crazy taking me to the end." he says. "Pleasantly surprised, but still surprised."
"Well I realized that first and second get some money. Money for Kabal, is money for the Black Dragon." Sonic explains. "Besides we don't need him trying to take credit for saving us."
"We're going to be in for a rough time tonight. It's rare the big threats actually make it to the end." Gordon points out. "This'll be a close one."
"I'll take threat versus threat, over threat versus $$hole."
The chef has a double take. "Didn't know you felt THAT strongly about him!"
"My emotions took over. Happens to the best of us, am I right?"
The chef can understand where he's coming from. "I get it. But for your sake, leave the language to me tonight."
In confession, he's speechless for the first two seconds.
Gordon: This is absurd. How did we even get here?
Despite their past rivalry, there's still peace on the island.
"You nervous?" Sonic asks.
"Public speaking won't kill me. You?"
"Going against you might."
That it may. The chef isn't super sold on the idea of running away with it. "We both worked to get here. It's not set in stone." he responds.
"I know, just some second thoughts."
"Don't second guess yourself. You went with your instincts, and it could make the difference." That's the nicest Gordon has been in a while.
In Sonic's confessional, he's laying in the sand.
Sonic: Huh..never thought I'd hear Gordon praise me for swerving someone.
The two head out to the walking path…but there's another twist to their day. In the distance, a tent is seen with ALL the fixins! The Final Two Feast is back for a third time, a sweet reward that sixteen players miss out on.
Sonic's at the table in a split second, targeting the sweets on the table. Gordon walks over at a gingerly pace, taking a seat across from the hedgehog. The blue's just stuffing himself like he's a piñata. "Mmmgh..I can't believe they're missing out on THIS!" The chef grabs a lava cake, and adds a knife to his inventory. "Unlucky."
A knife in his hand? For a lava cake? That's insane to him. "What's with the knife?"
"Etiquette."
"Can't you just use a fork?"
"Lay off." Gordon says, cutting into the lava cake, the chocolate insides spewing out. While he takes his first bite, Jeff Probst shows how inevitable he really is and enters the scene. "You guys enjoying the feast?" he asks.
"Hell yeah!" Sonic shouts, biting into a ring. Not the gold type, but production listened to that vital conversation about food.
"I like to stay healthy but I'll make an exception." Gordon says, looking to make that lost weight back.
The host smiles. Could be real, probably fake, but who cares? This is about those two. "Good to hear. Before you continue, you should know that your day doesn't just end with this feast. After you both say you're done, you'll have a couple hours to rest. Then you'll do the Rites of Passage, where you can speak your mind one more time, on players who've been eliminated." he explains.
"Then finals tonight?"
"Finals tonight." Jeff confirms. "SO, enjoy your meal, a boat will be here to pick you up later. I'll see you tonight." The host leaves them be, hops on that jet-ski of his, and gets out of there.
Wait, a Jeff confessional?
Jeff: I think this is going to be our closest vote yet. These two fought to get where they are now, and had to overcome a lot of adversity because of that target on their backs. Sonic had to pull off a big move at five, in order to get Gordon to save him next time. He was a target for FIVE Tribals straight. He's had to survive longer than Gordon has. However, he could have some jurors bitter against him. Kabal won't just take what happened last time. He also has some Fatu working against him, and those who think Gordon has more maturity. Sonic's feuded with multiple people, so that's a big plus for Ramsay.
Ok, and Gordon?
Jeff: Sonic has his pros and cons, but so does Gordon. He's made moves, and had to scrape by long enough, to swing Kabal and Mei over. He basically dictated the votes of Blu and Matt too. Not a bad game. But he's also got Sonic's allies against him, and those who may think Sonic's endgame impressive. These two aren't saints, but they've got enough pull to where either one can win this game.
Thanks for the insight, Jeff.
Back at the feast, the two are just taking in their meal. But Gordon actually breaks the silence. "I'm not into the Rites of Passage. Just seems like a time waster. I've said all I needed to say about these people." Not even production's safe.
Sonic doesn't care, and just keeps eating. He catches Gordon's look though. "What?" he asks, muffled. Gordon just doesn't answer and finishes off what's on his plate.
Rites of Passage
Whether the chef likes it or not he and Sonic are in line, at the first torch, out of sixteen. Before they address nine of their fallen cast mates, they have to address those who were lost early.
First, they come across Nelson's torch. The hedgehog scratches his head. "Who is this guy?"
"He didn't really talk to any of us. If he had more strength he'd have made it further." Gordon recalls.
"He probably goes third. I'm shocked you didn't kick Infinite out for talking smack about friendship."
"…how do you know?"
"I've been around the block."
The two move on to Claptrap's torch.
"He was done when Mac had to carry him." Sonic admits.
"Can't blame you, I'd vote him out too."
"Yeah..he wasn't doing any favors at camp either. Monty wanted him to help out around camp, but god forbid he do." the blue responds. "He was never long to be honest."
"Lazy and weak? Poor bot had no chance."
They move onto another Fatu torch: Infinite's.
"We tried. He didn't listen." Chef admits.
"Sounds about right. He's so scared to have someone close to him. Sad situation." Sonic adds.
"If he wants to get into the strategy, he needs to learn how to talk with people first."
After that lesson, they move onto Red, the only Toka these two have never met. "A little bird told me he's a cool guy." the hedgehog says.
"I didn't Blu was a bird."
"Hehe, that started her whole grudge with Kano. Kabal could have mended that but that flip just made it worse." Sonic recalls. "She'll never trust a man again."
"Can't blame her."
The two reach the three swap boots. First up is Kristine's torch, and they remember that whole incident.
"In hindsight, she should have saved Red. Would have done her wonders." Gordon points out.
"I've NEVER seen Blu get that mad! She's usually a calm Yoshi."
"It'd be a different game if she just voted out Kano."
These two have made their fair share of mistakes, but after Kristine swapped with Blu, it was DONE for her. Speaking of mistakes…they reach Monty's torch.
"He just wanted to get out there and work. Mole was shook when he got that blindside!" Sonic exclaims.
"We had to catch you off guard. He seemed alright but it had to be him."
The hedgehog turns to the chef. "Soooo I forgot..did ANYONE tell you where the votes were going?" he asks.
"Mac did."
"Ahhhh…" it adds up to him. "You could have sniped me right there. It didn't have to be him. Why didn't you get rid of me?" he asks.
"You've got a knack for idols. You found two already."
"You know what, that's fair."
Fair answer. Anyways, they move onto the last premerge torch: Toriel.
"She may be the nicest person on this cast." Chef opens. "We ran Fatu together. If she made it to merge, then that would make the difference."
"She threw shade at Kano. Remember?"
"Everyone's thrown shade at Kano, but he does it to himself." Fair enough, Gordon. "Toriel has potential. I'll leave it at that."
They move onto the first merge torch. It's Tremor's.
"This guy could've been a problem." Gordon admits. "Having to fight him for immunity would be hell. Would've even won the food challenge."
"He needed some protection to get here sooo he would have ruined us." The respect on Tremor's name right now..
"He could have been a threat if he wasn't associated with the Black Dragon. I'll stand by that."
Next, they arrive at Little Mac's torch.
"Talk about challenge threats all ya want but don't ignore this guy. If that rock didn't get him, that'd be even more trouble!" Sonic admits. "If he can beat me at camp sports, he can give me a run for my money."
"He didn't have a problem with anyone either. Just a friendly guy."
"I hope he's ok. Just got a really bad draw."
After putting more respect on Mac's name, they move onto…Kano's torch.
"If he wasn't a d*ck, he'd go deep." Gordon says.
"I dunno about that. He tried two-timing our allies before the merge. He should have known they'd compare notes." Good observation from him.
"He could clean up his sloppiness."
They move from his torch, to Luigi's.
"I hope one day he has the courage to take initiative." Gordon wishes. "He's a good to have on your side. Loyal. Reliable. All the tools to go deep."
"Your Fatu could benefit from more experience."
"Agreed. At least he didn't go out with a whimper."
They move from his torch, to Blu's.
"You really got us. You were all about me and Matt so I should've gotten the hint…" Sonic admits. "Blu's pretty chill when she doesn't get deceived."
"She's probably getting onto Kabal as we speak."
"Well that's his mistake."
They move from her torch, to another Sonic ally: Matt's.
"What a guy. I'm glad he and Blu stood their ground. They won't throw you under the bus because of an inconvenience." The hedgehog compliments, unaware of Matt's actual endgame plan.
"He was respectful even when we were on different sides. The isolation game is a sh*tty game to play." the chef states.
"After coming in second this whole time…he's gonna be on the grind."
Next, they arrive at Bandana Dee's torch.
"Whether he was actually lying or not, he was a good ally. Did you know he was the one who pitched Blu?" Gordon asks.
"Really? I thought you did it."
"It was a team effort, but he got the ball rolling."
"Hmm…still made the right call." Sonic mutters to himself.
They move on and arrive at Li Mei's torch.
"She was brutal in that tiebreaker! I fight robots on the daily and she still gave me more of a fight!" Sonic exclaims, reflecting on the toughest tiebreaker yet.
"If you didn't take out Dee, she could have won." What a prediction from the chef.
"Yeah, if that was you in the tiebreaker…she probably beats you."
"In hindsight..maybe taking out Dee was a good thing."
Lastly, they move from her torch, to Kabal's.
"This guy's confusing. Sometimes he's nice, sometimes he's mean-spirited. I'm all for fun rivalries, but 'fun' doesn't mean making rude comments outta nowhere." Sonic says. "He didn't have to call me a cocky *sshole. I KNOW I can be cocky but he didn't have to do me like that." Oh yeah, he did throw shade at the hedgehog before a challenge. Some people never forget.
"He tried to act civilized, but he can't outrun his past behavior. Being around people like Kano for so long can rub off on you." Gordon reasons. "I thought you'd be getting onto ME for comments."
"You didn't just accept second. You used the jury as a weapon, and in the end? I'll respect that over accepting second place money. Besides he can still split it with Kano out of the game anyway." Sonic explains.
"Second place gets a hundred thousand."
"That's 100K I'd rather give to someone who had to earn his place." Sure, that's a reason, but there may be a little pettiness going into that decision.
Nonetheless, the show must go on. A boat pulls up in the distance. The two face said boat and head that way. While they do, the last two confessionals of the season air.
First, Sonic's.
Sonic: From seven on, I had to do what it took, and tonight I'll do what it takes to get their votes. I fumbled along the way, but nobody's perfect. The biggest knock on me will be that Gordon saved my life, so I gotta separate myself from him, and make them think I'm better.
Then, Gordon's.
Gordon: He can say he fought for his life, but you don't need to be an underdog to win. One by one, I've sent every one of his allies home. I even spared him when I had the chance, but that was to get HERE. Sonic's coming in on a hot streak, people love their endgame underdogs…so I'll do whatever it takes to cool him down.
Final Confessional Count:
57– Sonic, Gordon
