Author's Note: I recently got inspired and so here is a new chapter. This takes place a year after the Epilogue. Also I have rewrote the other chapters which has pretty much double the number of words.

Epilogue Part 2

August 13, 2006

After the closing of the Sunnydale Hellmouth, Faith's life had entered a new chapter. She had spent years seeking redemption and finding her place in the world of Slayers and supernatural battles. Hearing the tales Buffy and Dawn told her about their heroic efforts in Gotham, she felt a pull to reconnect with her old friend and sister-in-arms.

One night, after months of contemplation, Faith found herself on the streets of Gotham. The city's towering buildings and bustling streets were a far cry from the familiar landscapes of Sunnydale, but the thrill of the hunt remained the same. Armed with her experience and renewed sense of purpose, Faith sought out Batwoman and Robin, determined to offer her assistance.

As Batwoman and Robin patrolled the city's rooftops, they noticed a figure moving stealthily through the shadows, one that seemed all too familiar. Faith's presence was like a beacon, rekindling Buffy's memories of their shared past and the battles they had fought side by side.

With a skilled flip, Faith landed on the rooftop beside them, her trademark confidence shining through. "Long time no see, B. And hey there, Robin," she grinned, acknowledging Dawn.

Batwoman's surprise was quickly replaced by a warm smile. "Faith, what brings you to Gotham?"

Faith shrugged casually. "Just felt like the city could use some extra muscle. You two have told me of your exploits kicking ass here, thought I'd join the party."

Robin's eyes widened in excitement. "You're here to help us?"

Faith winked. "You got it, kid. Plus, I missed hanging with my favorite duo."

As the trio exchanged stories and caught up, their camaraderie was rekindled, as if no time had passed since their Sunnydale days. Faith's arrival breathed new life into their partnership, adding an extra layer of strength to their dynamic. Her experience, street smarts, and no-nonsense attitude blended seamlessly with Buffy and Dawn's fierce determination.

In the hushed ambiance of the Batcave, the trio of Buffy, Dawn, and Faith gathered around the table, a tapestry of maps, gadgets, and reports laid out before them. The subdued lighting lent an air of solemnity to the impending conversation, as if the weight of their words was mirrored by the shadows dancing on the walls.

Faith's voice emerged, a hint of sincerity lacing her words. "Buffy, Dawn, I'm really grateful for the chance to join you guys here in Gotham. It's been one hell of a ride."

Dawn's agreement was palpable, her eyes shining with a mixture of respect and camaraderie. "Yeah, Faith, having you here has been amazing. You bring a whole new level of expertise to the team."

Buffy's gaze held a contemplative intensity as she spoke, every word resonating with genuine emotion. "Faith, you've proven yourself time and again. You've changed, and you're fighting for the right reasons. You've grown into someone we can rely on."

The exchange of looks among the trio revealed a synergy, as if their bond had evolved beyond mere allies, morphing into a family forged through trials and triumphs. Faith's curiosity was piqued, her gratitude and curiosity giving her voice an eager edge. ""I appreciate that, guys. But what's on your minds?"

Dawn leaned in, a quiet determination in her expression. "We've been thinking, Faith. You've got the skills, the attitude, and the heart to take this to the next level."

Buffy's words held a quiet fervor, each syllable heavy with unspoken emotions. "We're not just patrolling the streets of Gotham anymore. We're tackling supernatural threats alongside the criminals. It's a whole new game."

Faith's trademark skepticism found a voice. "So, what are you saying?"

Dawn's gaze met Buffy's, the unspoken connection between them reinforcing their resolve. "We think you should consider taking up the mantle of Batgirl."

Faith's eyebrows shot up in astonishment. "Batgirl? You mean, like, becoming an official part of the Bat-family?"

Buffy's nod was a definitive affirmation. "Exactly. You've proven that you're more than capable. With your skills, you could bridge the gap between what you and I do as Slayers and what Dawn and I do as crime-fighters. Plus, it's about time there's a Batgirl who's not just a sidekick."

Faith's initial surprise melted into contemplation. "I gotta admit, the idea's pretty damn appealing. But, you know, there was already a Batgirl."

"I know Barbara was the first to hold the mantle of Batgirl," Buffy admitted, her voice tinged with a mix of respect and fondness. "She's been a mother figure to me during my second round of growing up."

Dawn chimed in, a playful glint in her eyes. "But hey, who says there can't be more than one Batgirl?"

A genuine smile spread across Buffy's face, her sister's words striking a chord within her. "Absolutely. And if we're counting, there's a whole lineup of Robins too. Dawn's actually the fifth Robin, I was the fourth Robin before becoming Batwoman."

Faith chuckled, her skepticism melting into camaraderie. "You got a point there. But we still need to consider one thing – your dad's approval."

Just as the weight of that concern settled in, Bruce emerged from the shadows, his presence commanding attention. His voice was calm and steady as he addressed Faith. "Faith, officially, my approval might not carry the weight it used to now that I've retired from being Batman. Unofficially, though, you earned my respect a while ago."

Buffy's eyes held a mixture of warmth and gratitude, her father's words hitting home. "Faith, my dad used his resources to get you out of prison, knowing your past and everything. But you know what impressed him the most? The fact that despite being a Slayer, you chose to stay behind bars, seeking redemption for your actions. That speaks volumes about your character."

Dawn nodded in agreement; her admiration evident. "Yeah, it takes a lot to own up to your past and try to make amends."

Faith's expression shifted from skepticism to something resembling gratitude. "Damn, B, you sure know how to surround yourself with a supportive bunch."

Buffy's smile radiated warmth, a true reflection of the deep connections that had blossomed between them. "That's what family does, Faith. We're here for each other, through thick and thin."

Faith's eyes softened, touched by the sincerity in Buffy's words. Her gaze shifted to Bruce, seeking his opinion. "And what's the verdict from the OG Batgirl?"

A faint smile played on Bruce's lips, his eyes glinting with a mixture of approval and mischief. "Perhaps you should hear it from the source."

From the shadows emerged Barbara Gordon, her presence commanding respect. She stood beside Bruce, her expression open and welcoming. "Faith, you should know that Buffy and I share a special bond. When she regained her memories, she opened up to me about you. And let me tell you, I couldn't be prouder if you decided to carry on my legacy as Batgirl."

Dawn's smile was a mixture of excitement and encouragement. "So, what do you think, Faith? Will you step into the role of Batgirl?"

The emotions in Faith's eyes were a swirl of contemplation and resolve. She released a slow breath, a newfound determination in her stance. "You know what? Yeah. Yeah, I'm in. Let's give Gotham a taste of the new Batgirl – one who's ready to kick some serious ass and make a difference."
