The mall was turning into pure hell because the ghouls were everywhere and the survivors were all in danger. The guards, police and soldiers could not hold them back. A voice boomed over the intercom "Attention! Attention! Make your way to the north plaza!". Free and Sheila ran through the mall looking for the north plaza.
"We got to find a way to the north plaza!" cried Sheila.
Free and Sheila turned a corner and froze in fear. Countless ghouls converged on them, but Free saw a path that would lead to the north plaza. However they would have to cut through the ghouls and go through the electric shop.
Just then Louis and Ibuki appeared on the second floor with Legoshi and Haur. "Free! Sheila!" shouted Louis as loud as he could. Free and Sheila turned their attention to the others. "Hit the deck!" ordered Legoshi as he threw a tank of propane gas toward the ghouls.
Ibuki took aim at the tank just as the ghouls reached it. Free and Sheila laid flat on the floor as the lion fired his pistol. The propane tank exploded and ghouls were thrown around and knocked back by the blast, but the path was clear. The lion and leopard ran past the ghouls and made it to the stairs. As they were heading up, Sheila was suddenly pulled backwards.
She turned around to see Jack. His soulless eyes stared at her and Sheila froze in shock at the sight of her fellow classmate turned ghoul. As an infected Jack lunged forward to bite her, a giant foot kicked him backwards. It was Ibuki.
"Get to the third floor!" he shouted pulling Sheila up. Soon the whole group was running for it. When they reached the third floor, the cries for help was heard. Louie looked over the railing and saw fellow drama club member Ellen trapped by six ghouls.
"I'll get her, boss!" Free shouted as he tied a rope around his waist, before repelling down toward the trapped zebra.
"Ghouls incoming!" Legoshi shouted, warning his friends to a group of undead coming up to the third floor. Ibuki quickly took a defensive position and took aim with his pistol. He fired until his weapon was empty.
"Damn," he growled and reached to put another clip into his weapon, but he forgot to grab extra ammo. So, with no other option, the aging lion charged into the ghouls, tearing into them with his bare hands. In less than ten seconds, the ghouls were all dead or disabled to the point of being nothing more then twitchers.
As Free made it to Ellen, the handsome lion reached out to grab her, but a ghoul reached up and took hold of Free's leg. Looking down, the handsome lion let out a gasp, as the ghoul opened his mouth to bite him. But if it hadn't been for Ibuki, Free would surely have been bit.
The older lion fired another shot, killing the ghoul, and giving Free and Ellen a chance to escape. Now that the zebra was safe, the group made their way to the exit. A group of SWAT soldiers let them through and quickly closed the door behind them. The sounds of automatic gunfire could be heard coming from the other side of the door, but so were the screams of the SWAT soldiers.
"They're gone," Legoshi said sadly, the sound of the ghouls clawing at the door almost drowned out his words.
For two hours the survivors all were bunched together with some survivors dying of their wounds from the ghouls and being put down by the remaining SWAT soldiers. Legoshi was getting drunk because most of his friends were dead and it looked like everyone else was going to die too. However Louis walked over and sat with his friend.
Louis gave the wolf a small smile as he took a drink of alcohol. "Might want to take it easy on that!" Legoshi tried to smile at the deer, but couldn't. "If we work together we can all get out of here." he stated patting Legoshi on the back.
The wolf took another drink and then smiled a sarcastic smile. "Here's to the end of the world!" he sobbed quietly.
Across from Louis and Logoshi stood Sheila with Haru. The girls felt that Legoshi was giving up to easily, but Haru knew that Legoshi would not truly give up because he rescued her and was always trying to be there for her. "I have to help Legoshi see that he should not stop fighting to live!" Thought Haru as she watched him with love in her eyes.
Legoshi was about to take another drink when a moose SWAT soldier stood on top of a table. "Ladies and gentlemen can I have your attention!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. "Your attention PLEASE!" he shouted once more, but even loader. The survivors all quieted down and gathered around the soldier.
"What is it?" asked Free stepping close to the soldier.
"We just got word that a ferryboat is coming to pick us up and take us to an island base for safety."
The survivors started to feel a bit of relief, but Juno stepped forward. "Are there any other survivors and soldiers on that island?" she asked crossing her arms. "Because this place turned out to be a mistake!" she grumbled under her breath.
The Swat soldier was about to answer when his face blew open splattering blood and brains all over a few survivors and Juno. Louis looked up in fury and saw Melon standing on a staircase with a rifle in his left hand and a remote detonator in his right hand. The survivors stood screaming and crying because Melon was holding a bomb in his hand, but Haru ran to Legoshi for protection. What would happen to them now?
