Purple Payco Hidden Past Shows Fear
Jaune, Saeko, and Ruby follow the two women they met who happens to be the mother of Blake and the older sister of Weiss as they have been hiding in the temple for the past few days along with three other survives.
"Do you have any food for three more people? We're not planning to stay for long." Saeko asked.
"We do, went out to do restock our food supply just yesterday to make sure we would last at least for ten days." Winter answered.
"Though the food we were able to find wasn't much, just some leftovers from a small fast-food restaurant, but they're still good enough to eat." Kali mentioned.
"At this point, I'll settle for anything that can fill up by belly." Ruby rubbed her stomach a little.
"Come, they're in the living room." Winter said as she slides the door open.
Jaune looks around to see that the temple appears to be in a slightly worse shape than how it looked on the outside, blood stains everywhere and a few cracks on the wall, and looking outside on the right is where he can see a one or two zombie heads on the sand.
"(Too bad places like this were spared by the zombies, guess even Gods can't stop the undead.)" Jaune thought concerned.
"Here we are." Winter said as they stop in front of a door.
"Are they friendly?" Ruby asked nervously.
"Not to worry, they are friendly and just helpless to defend for themselves. Just trying to seek shelter and hopes this whole thing blows over." Winter explained.
"Which I'm pretty sure the zombies aren't going away any time soon." Kali sighed.
"Luckily for us, they don't appear to be going crazy and gone out for blood." Kali smiled, assuring the three new arrivals that everything is fine.
"That's good to hear." Ruby smiled.
Winter nods and opens the door going into the living room where there are three girls sitting on the floor minding their own business.
"Girls, we're back and we brought in some new guests. Fellow survivors like us!" Winter informed, getting the girls' attention.
"I'm so, like, glad to see there are actually people other than the ones here who are not dead." One tanned black hair girl smiled.
"Yeah, and the guy seems pretty cute." The tanned pink hair girl complimented that have made Jaune blush.
"Alright, now introduce yourselves." Winter ordered though with a calming tone.
"Hello, my name is Hisato Asumi, I hope we can get along." Hisato introduced herself with a warm smile almost like a housewife would have.
Hisato is a young woman with brown hair that goes below the shoulders and tied up into a ponytail, and her brown eyes. She wears a long-sleeved red shirt, dark green pants, and red shoes. Breasts size: HH-cup.
"Hey, I'm Miki Kawabata, and I hope we can totally be friends!" Miki greeted, being so cheerful and cute.
Miki is a girl with long black hair tied into twin ponytails and light grayish eyes, and her skin is tan color. She wears a high school uniform made for girls, consisted of a white shirt, a red tie, blue skirt that goes halfway on her thighs, and black shoes. Breasts sizes: H-cup.
"And you can just call me Ellen! I like to surf, hanging out with my friends, and do some exciting things like survive from the zombies that are trying to kill us." Ellen winked.
Ellen is a young teenage girl with dark tan-like skin, pink hair styled in a short ponytail and two long bangs past her shoulders, and ocean blue eyes. She appears to wear little clothing such as a revealing bikini top with left cup a triangle red and white stripes and the right cup blue with little yellow stars, dark blue small shorts with very thin white strings hanging on the hips, and pink sandals. Breasts size: F-cup.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Jaune Arc, these girls are Ruby Rose and Saeko Busujima." Jaune introduced himself and the girls here.
"Hello!" Ruby greeted with a friendly smile.
"Try not to get on my bad side and I may let you live." Saeko smirked which causes Jaune to jump a bit.
"Saeko! We're trying to be friendly with these people, not intimidating them." Jaune exclaimed softly to the girl.
"But this is me being friendly." Saeko smiled.
"(Makes me wonder how you look when you are threatening.)" Jaune thought sweatdropped.
"So, I take it you three have been surviving hard as well." Jaune said as they all sat down.
"Like you wouldn't believe! I'm from America and I came here to visit some friends who live in Japan, but all of the sudden… BAM! The zombies came out of nowhere right in the middle of the road making the taxi I was in crashed into a café." Ellen explained her experience.
"Oh man, that sounds like the worse way that could go wrong when visiting friends thousands of miles away." Ruby commented.
"Tell me about it, and I've been trying to call them but nothing." Ellen said.
"All you can do is keep believing in hope that your friends are doing okay and haven't been eaten by the zombies." Jaune stated.
"Totally, I am not going to let things get me down!" Ellen smiled and pumped her fists in the air.
"What about you, Miss Asumi? Any family and loved ones you're worried about?" Saeko asked the older woman.
"Just my parents and a few relatives, I was married to a wonderful man though he died about one month ago from a heart virus, he died in peace when we shared the noon together." Hisato explained about herself and her late husband.
"I'm so sorry for your lost." Jaune said.
"Thank you, I'm still having a hard time with my husband's passing…" Hisato paused for a moment to wipe away the tears.
"…But now with the zombies attacking, I'm glad that my husband doesn't have to go through this Hell." Hisato stated, clenching onto her arms tightly and imaging the worse possible thing that could happen to her husband in this disaster.
"I'm also glad that my parents aren't anyway near the city as well, but that doesn't mean I feel like they're safe or anything." Jaune said.
"Are you gonna search for them?" Mika asked.
"Yeah, me and the rest of our group have been trying to search for any of our families to see if they're safe and bring them along while also trying to help as much people as we can." Jaune explained.
"Yeah, like a while ago before we came here, we were on our way to see if there are any more survivors though we didn't know about a mansion that Winter mentioned." Ruby mentioned.
"You can come with us too; I heard the Takagi family were loaded and lives in a really big mansion." Saeko explained about the Takagi family from what she heard.
"No way! We're going to a rich family's home!" Ruby, Ellen, and Mika gasped.
"Make that former rich family, that kind of status won't matter in this situation anymore." Jaune pointed out.
"I figured as much, but most people would want to clench onto that way of life as it's what most always knew for their entire life." Hisato stated.
"True, I just hope we can get through this together." Kali worried.
"Oh yeah, I think I spotted a few zombies coming here through the woods." Ellen informed.
"You did? How?" Jaune asked surprise.
"With this bad boy right here!" Ellen pointed her thumb at what appeared to be a TV box.
"It's an old TV box I put together and connecting it to few security cameras that I found laying around before coming to the temple." Ellen turned on the TV showing the different areas in each channel and one showing five zombies.
"Wow, you made this yourself!" Ruby asked, amazes of this old TV.
"Yeah, guess I had a hidden talent for tinkering with anything I can get my hands on." Ellen smiled.
"You should meet our friend, Velvet. She's a tinker too, and I was actually thinking of doing that too." Ruby said.
"I'll be back." Winter stood up and walk out of the door.
"Mind if I join you? I need to calm down by urge to hit things with my sword." Saeko asked as she stands up.
"Very well, I needed to see what you can do if you have the intention to bring us to meet up with your group." Winter allowed Saeko to come along.
"I'll come too." Jaune volunteered as he stands up.
"Ruby, you stay here and keep guard in case there are more coming." Jaune ordered.
"You got it." Ruby saluted.
The three ran out of the temple and made their way to the forest area finding the five zombies ready to be smashed down.
"Let's make this quick!" Winter readied with her gun.
Jaune charges in with one down swing of his sword on one zombie's head to split it apart and kick the zombie away, Saeko dashes past him with her sword smacking the zombies away with skills.
"God, you fuckers sink." Saeko smirked viciously lust.
"(She's making me worried right now.)" Jaune thought gulped.
Winter easily deals with one zombie shooting it in the head.
"The last one is mine!" Saeko screamed a bit as she runs to the final zombie.
However, she suddenly hesitated when she saw the last zombie to be a child around 8 or 9 years old and Saeko couldn't bring herself to strike at the zombie child for some reason.
"Saeko, is something wrong?" Jaune asked, noticing something off is going on with her.
"Winter, you're an older woman. Can you tell what is going on with Saeko?" Jaune asked, earning himself a "Are you serious" look from Winter.
"Sorry." Jaune apologized.
"Right now, it looks like she is suddenly feeling something in her mind that is making her freeze up like that. Probably something hidden." Winter guessed.
"(Something hidden?)" Jaune thought curious about that, but he needs to save Saeko right now and ask questions later.
Jaune rushes over to Saeko pulling her back by grabbing her arm and swings his sword down at the zombie kid and knocked it away with his shield.
"Saeko! Saeko! Saeko, snap out of it!" Jaune shook Saeko so much that he made her drop the wooden sword.
Winter comes in and gave Saeko a very hard slap on the face that causes a slight echo to be heard.
(Back at the Temple)
"What the fuck was that back there?" Winter demanded as Saeko is sitting with the others.
"When I saw you fighting out there, you didn't hesitate to kill your enemies with your strikes, and you were swift about it as well. But then you suddenly freeze up when you saw one zombie who used to be a kid." Winter mentioned.
"Do you realize how lucky you are that me and Jaune were there at the time, you wouldn't be here if one of us hadn't step in." Winter scolded.
"Easy there, Winter. I'm sure even this girl has her moments of hesitation." Hisato tried to calm Winter down.
"I'm sorry, I guess something snapped in me about something I haven't thought about in a long time." Saeko apologized.
"Did you know that you can't go through life without having a crush on someone?" Saeko asked.
"I think I experienced something like that." Ruby said with her cheeks blushing.
"There was this boy and girl I liked back in Hawaii, but I knew there weren't into an open relationship." Ellen said.
"Did you have a crush on someone?" Kali asked.
"I did… I've never told them how I felt. I just don't think I have the right to." Saeko proclaimed, looking down with a sad expression.
"Huh, what makes you say that? Did this guy you like not like you back?" Mika asked.
"No, I never once told this guy I used to have a crush on about how I felt back then. He's better off without me." Saeko proclaimed.
"But Saeko, you're an amazing girl! You can fight with a sword like a samurai or any other sword fighter, and you stuck with us to be our friend!" Ruby believed strongly.
"…Even though I almost killed someone?" Saeko asked.
This caught Jaune, Ruby, and their new friends off guard when they mentioned Saeko had almost killed someone, and this was probably during the time before this whole end of the world thing.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Kali asked.
"Might as well since I can't keep it to myself anymore." Saeko said.
Everyone leans a little closer to Saeko who began her tale.
"Four years ago, I was attacked on the street at night. I had a practice sword with me. I started hitting him and once I started… I didn't stop. I-I couldn't stop… It was… he was…" Saeko felt shaken up from the memories of that night four years ago as her voice is a little stutter.
"After I told the police what happened, they gave me a ride home in a police car." Saeko mentioned.
"Did you regret hurting the guy so much?" Ruby asked.
"Sounds like the bastard deserves for trying to force himself on to you." Mika stated.
"You might be right on that, but to be completely honest… I enjoyed it." Saeko confessed, causing most to gasp in shock while Winter narrow her eyes on her.
"Just letting the rage out against someone? That was nothing but joy." Saeko said, showing her eyes starting to look faintly blank as the memories of that day came flooding in her mind again.
(Flashback, 4 Years Ago)
The scene shows a younger Saeko is being assaulted by an older highschooler, pinning her against the wall to have his way with this little cutie, but he didn't even bother to care that she was holding onto her training sword.
"When I realized I had the upper hand, I felt so calm, and I pretended I was terrified. And then when I had him…" Saeko remembered every moment, every second of that night.
The younger Saeko looked uncomfortable with the assaulter about to do whatever he wants with her, her expression changes to a darker look on her face and her eyes look serious.
"I fought back." Saeko finished that sentence.
Saeko swung her practice sword right at the bastard with a force so strong that it causes bleed to gush out from the head, splatted on the wall behind her and some on her face while the assaulter clenches onto his face in pain and on the floor.
"I fought him until there was nothing but blood and bones." Saeko said.
Now Saeko is shown with a small smile on her face and her eyes stare down at the helpless man, feeling the joy of having give this man a brutal beating because she was enjoying it.
"It was bliss. Absolute, total pleasure." Saeko revealed.
Zooms closer to Saeko's eyes show to be beaming of sadistic look to enjoy bringing great and agonizing pain to the man.
(Flashback End)
Everyone became silent upon hearing the entire story about Saeko in the past who how she really enjoyed hurting that pervert guy so much, it was almost like she unleashed her inner beast and that was her true self.
"Shit is right because that shit is me. Me! That's who I am! Can't you see?" Saeko said, starting to smile crazy with her eyes looking crazy too. Just like how she looked back at the water fountain.
"The feeling of power, of control over someone else's life. I loved it!" Saeko expressed while Jaune is looking on shocked.
"(Now this is deeper for you than I thought.)" Jaune thought.
"Maybe I felt that way too, just for a moment." Ruby said.
"You mean that guy from the gas station?" Jaune asked, Ruby nods.
"I just… felt this urge to kill him for thinking I was a weak little girl, and I gave him a death for a scum like him to receive." Ruby clutched onto her hands.
"Maybe so, but I had this longer than anyone could." Saeko said.
"So, everybody has darkness within them even me. What matters is how we use that darkness to guide our life, and now we're gonna need it to survive this fucked up world now more than ever." Jaune placed a hand on Saeko's shoulder and put up a brave and confident smile.
"Believe me when I say you are not alone, you always got me and everyone in your life. So, don't be afraid to express yourself even more." Jaune smiled that made Saeko's heart skipped a beat, feeling a sense of love toward him. Something she had not felt in a long time.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Jaune and the others got to meet the three other survivors who are with Winter and Kali, and we even got to know more about Saeko's insane side, but she is reassured that despite having that darkness, she will always have others by her side and may have started a crush on Jaune.
